Two St. Louis County Police officers were shot outside the Ferguson Police Department early Thursday, according to acting Ferguson police chief Lt. Col. Al Eickhoff.
Bob Hoehn, a KSDK-TV photographer, reported two police officers were loaded into ambulances. One was taken immediately to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center and the teaching hospital for Washington University School of Medicine. The other officer was initially treated on the scene.
In a news conference outside the hospital around 2 a.m. CT, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said one officer was shot in the shoulder and one was shot in the face. Both officers were conscious, he said.

Amen. Besides that, they have to act with the information they've got at a particular moment. And, they have the duty to do something about those people. Normal civilians can just walk or ran away when someone is misbehaving or playing with a gun. Police officers don't.

Sure, it's not good that unarmed people get shot, but like you said, you can only find out that someone was not armed AFTER you have acted (like you should do according to your job).

I do understand why people are mad about police shooting (unarmed) people. However, shooting cops now instead is way worse.

The whole situation sounds crazy in Ferguson.  Americans defend their rights to carry weapons, so they have to accept that mistakes will be made by police officers who don't want to be shot and killed as part of their job.  The whole town sounds like it is a racial tinderbox too, I have no idea what the ethnic breakdown is, or why Ferguson in particular is having these constant problems, but someone really needs to step in and do something.

I also strongly disagree with you calling them apes, I think you should remove that.

This protest is peaceful and democratic indeed. Maybe less peaceful than maidan though protesters have enough time for distribution of freedoms.

I know cops are power abusers. I can bet that almost every cop had a though childhood, so they became cops to have as much control as they can.. Wrong reason to go for that job. But what shall we do about that? There are good cops, if you cooporate (I am not from the US but think it's the same there) they keep respect you.

Been taken for having drugs (Swedish drugs laws are a joke, you commit a crime if you smoke or eat a pill) 3 times, if you are nice to them they are nice to you. But one cop was just fucking power abuser, I asked for water and she refused to give it to me...

So what's the solution? Shot all cops? No it's the sytsem that's at fault, cops have their job for the wrong reasons and the laws are FUCKED.
