There is no need for kickstart or whatever it's called.  Just post on my bounty thread and if enough people commit to the bounty, it will be paid once an open source WebCL miner is available.  Bounties have been done here many times before and work nicely.

What license would it be open sourced under?

Good to discuss on the other thread.  For my part of the bounty I will accept any widely-used open source license, MIT, GPL, etc.  GPL shouldn't really be controversial for this because the source code goes out to the browser anyway, but either way I'd be happy.

I can't really say why it would not work under those two systems. I've only tested on Windows 7 64Bit / ATI and Linux 32bit Nvidia.

I'm going to open source it today of the interested parties can put together 75 coins.

I also could not get an ATI 4XXX working with WebCL. Do ATI 4XXX support OpenCL at all?

Very interesting.

Combine the client code with a plugin that streams video and earn a dime or two for every 2 hours a client watches. Time to call YouPorn and make a deal.

I'm only on YouPorn for 3-4 minutes, then lose interest for some reason. 2 Hours?!?

good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment

The desktop / Firefox lag problems should be fixed, it should be possible to run this without any noticeable system slowdown.

The hashrate is a bit underreported, and might bounce around a bit however, but now you can just ignore the page and go about browsing.

Multi GPU Support added.

If you have more than one Radeon, open a new browser tab and do this:

http://kradminer.com?device=1   (for the second card )

http://kradminer.com?device=2   (for the third card )

http://kradminer.com?device=3   (for the forth card ...)

http://kradminer.com (if you only have one..)

I don't happen to have the GPU's to test this, but if one or two people can atleast tell me its working I can add it to the interface.

Thanks!

I'm currently using my laptop (Quadro FX 1800M, NVidia) on Windows 7, and it works like a charm. Averaging around the ~10 MHash/s, which is pretty good. DiabloMiner gives me ~13 MHash/s on this laptop.

Worked nicely ..  all tho 100HM less then main phoenix client.

Still not sure this idea is worth it for consumers.. there would really need to be many at lowest rate not to impact Functionallity fully invisible. It just takes to long for anyone wanting a quick fix. They'd get to bored and give up. That's why it could work better for Team/Guild MMO Web games.. IMHO

If you found my post helpful, use my tip jar!

Yeah I think there might be a certain niche for this that would be something like flattr where you could donate to certain groups etc rather than just try to mine for your own, since if you just have one computer with a moderate radeon it might not amount to much for you, but enough people doing it for this or that organization would really amount to a decent chunk. I'm open to suggestions/ideas on how best to implement such a thing.

There was some service disruptions in the last 36 hours, but it should be cleared up now.

I've actually been getting quite a bit of email, but if anyone has suggestions for the site nows a good time to lay them out.

Cheers,

D

Works with 5770 and 5830 ATI cards, but not as fast as local miners.
