So like a service that you would pay bitcoin to and they would issue you your usps stamp or ups shipping label?
What I'm thinking of is a network where anyone with a bike, car, van, truck etc can sign up, get a message when a delivery comes up in their area, accept it and make a few b's. A trustworthy network would take time to build up so a simple 'deliver it now' service using UPS, postal services etc. would probably be the only way to get started. Eventually it could build up to a service as anonymous as bitcoin, no names or addresses necessary, just GPS co-ords and times with verification on delivery.

This would be pretty awesome.  I think this idea needs a whole lot of development, but could be one of the coolest services bitcoin could offer.

It already IS under development, it's called bitdrop

Look like still in the brainstorming phase.

Do you write the code?

I disagree, at least for most regular porn sites. Porn is only successful due to misdirection and laziness. If subscriptions cannot be charged automatically (which Is currently incompatible with Bitcoin), then it's a non-starter.

Then keep your recurring payments and charge a 30% premium for one-time payments. That way, you don't lose any of your "lazy" customers, while gaining additional privacy-aware customers, who would previously have refused to use your service. Win-win.

Also, bitcoin volatility is not an issue for porn sites as long as bitcoin is bringing in additional customers, because porn sites have large fixed costs and small variable costs.

This has been in the back of my mind ever since I first saw ebay, bitcoin almost completes the chain by offering an efficient system for CoD with multi-sig transactions, the only part missing is payment of the courier on verification of arrival if no one is there to collect.

love it. if there's any sort of densely populated (by bitcoin users) area we know of...could start testing this system?Huh wheres the highest concentration of bitcoin users?

A simple way to do amazon purchases would go a long way

(grumble)

In terms of users per square km, my guesstimate would be:

1. New York metropolitan area
2. San Francisco Bay Area
3. Helsinki
4. Sydney
5. Stockholm
6. Toronto
7. Randstad

(guesstimate loosely based on statistics @ http://bitcoinstatus.rowit.co.uk)

That will be part of the thing that will replace bitcoin.

God I'd love to be proven wrong on that.
