Seems like a lot of work was put into the site just to steal some coins. I hope nobody lost too much.

Looks like he stole about 50 000 USD worth. Not too bad for a few months, but don't forget he can probably relaunch with a new skin on the software and a new Newbie account and scam some more people.

In the post I linked saddambitcoin was offering xmr for people to goto Cryptocoins-Dice.com and I said I wouldn't trust the site and now that post is deleted.

WTF Mods in on this scam?

WTF Huh Is it on bitcointa.lk?

In that post you linked, I am offering XMR for people to go to #tippero IRC chat room, where the profits donate to the devs. Please remember at that time Monero gambling was a brand new thing, we were all very enthusiastic about any new development.

I hear ya, I was trying to figure out why the link was wrong and then the search engine was failing to find the post so after a few minutes of continual search variations I got steamed. Then a few minutes later the exact keyword search worked again and there was no way I incorrectly typed it as I have them in a drop down list.

Are there plans to contact the French tax authorities? They may (probably) have more influence and resources at their disposal than the local police. That's making the assumption that they work the like my local tax agency.

^^^ Why is all this info so easily found out after the fact, that the accounts are all burnable and connected to scammers? I swear people do not do due diligence anymore.

This was the exact reason I posted what I did in the link I posted above.

I called him out on many things that didnt add up in his official thread.  I withdrew almost everything I had there when his answers didnt add up.

It is amazing though how easily we are willing to hand over large amounts of money to strangers on the internet.  In real life we wouldnt entrust a fraction of those funds to a complete stranger.

David Latapie could talk to this guy (better in real life to be sure he's the one of the facebook pictures). If he has talked to bobbax for hours on phone, it should be easy to find out from the voice/ton if it's the same person.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

Well said my man. We did not have to get Inspector Jacques Clouseau or Monsieur Poiret on the case to catch this slippery frog before he pinched our communities moneroj. Simple due diligence could well have prevented these losses.

After instawallet & mt gox debacles I think basic lesson clear: frenchmen not to be trusted keeping hands out of crypto cookie jars!

portefeuilles d'utilisateurs is the french speak or "user wallet". Yes it looks like "I'll use this in my portfolio".. do you think this is purely circumstantial?
it was hacked = il a été piraté . Yes! it looks like "I am a pirate". Coincidence? i think not!

from cursory glance seems bobbax same user as operator of cryptokk exchange
no surprise to hear that exchange left with users funds, with the cover of being hacked by adding a backdoored daemon  Roll Eyes

I think at first his plan was to scam investors balances slowly hoping they won't notice.  I kept questioning him in his offical thread about discrepencies between my losses as an investor and the house loses.  He probably decided that he couldn't use that scam any more and opted for the total ripoff scenario.

He has the code for the casino.  He will rebrand it, rework the interface a bit and pop up in a few months as another casino with a new colour scheme.

Perhaps this wasnt even his first iteration of this scam.  I am unfamiliar with any other casinos as I was not involved at all but you guys that have been around gambling for a while might be able to ascertain if there were any scams in the past which preceeded CCD of similar nature, similar MO.

From a quick look through the bct pages: French/write perfect English, very proud of tip-rain bot, and just cut and run.

Not much, but maybe a lead....

It does seem similar.  Here is the thread for cryptokk.  Incidentally he was also posting about updates up to right before it closed.

First you need to find out who he/she is--only wish I had bounty money.
