Mt. Gox,

Do you think you can expose an API to allow third parties to determine if a Mt. Gox user is verified? (With the user permission, of course).  Also, it would be great if one could tell where that verified user is from.

Why is this needed?  Well, it is illegal for U.S. citizens to gamble.  If an API was exposed to see what country the bitcoins came from then more gambling sites could be created without fear of breaking U.S. laws.

Also, a user does not want to verify and re-verify all the time.  It is a time consuming process.  Since Mt. Gox already has this information then it would be easier to verify a user.

You could even charge for this service, and I think people would pay.

Thank you for your question, I am forwarding this for consideration.
