Thanks for your Opinion I WANT TO KNOW BITCOIN IS GOOD FOR LONG TERM SAVING PURPOSE ?
Possibly. But you should be aware it can blow up at any moment. One scenario: it becomes too popular and is outlawed by the USA due to tax evasion/money laundering. NSA directs its massive computing resources towards hashing and gains 51% control of the network, invalidating everyone else's transactions as they see fit. It's a very long shot, but all it requires is the USA federal government to declare bitcoin the currency of drug dealers/terrorists/pedophiles/insert enemy group here. Is any other government likely to object? Probably not, as there's no state sponsorship of bitcoin. Or bitcoin's value goes down, wiping out a portion of your savings. Those that bought in at $32/btc last year are still sitting on a world of hurt (assuming they didn't sell just above $2 late last year). For long term saving independent of state interference nothing beats gold and silver. Only problem is they are difficult to move and easy to steal.

I think speculative investment like Bitcoin is good for 15% of my savings. Thats my humble take on it. Think of it as a penny stock with above average potential.
I thought it was good for 0.5% of my savings when I invested. Then it went up 10000%. Then I lost my other savings. Now Bitcoin is 90% of all I have. I have less money now, but I'm a happier person. Having said that, BITCOIN BUY IS NOT GOOD FOR SAVING PURPOSE, IMO. It's a risky investment at best. Invest either if you are planning to actively use it, or you have money that you can do without. I think it will take some more years before we can declare that Bitcoin is a good idea for long term savings. I agree with the 15% ratio. If you are making a bucket of vehicles to invest in, make Bitcoin one of them. And then buy some more to use regularly, to support Bitcoin commerce.

Since this is bitcointalk, I can suggest checking out GLBSE. I would stay away from high-interest deposits and their pass-through bonds, especially uninsured ones. But there are decent businesses listed there, and you can also invest in venture capital funds such as MU. If you can spot the undervalued assets and buy low, there is a money making opportunity right there, but you have to do considerable research before making such assessments. MPOE.ETF should serve as a good example; its value is almost 12 times the IPO price as of now.

Yes Bitcoin is good for saving.
people say its risky, these people have no balls!
bitcoin use to be risky, its not anymore, the only real risk you'll have when buying bitcoin is that a few months down the line it may have dropped in value. but if you wait long enough you will see a good ROI, no matter what price you bought at.
Do it DUMP your savings into bitcoin, as long as you know how to work a paper wallet, you will be fine.
PS: 10.50 might be a bit high? maybe wait a few weeks, i think we might be seeing a short term down trend again. wait for it and be ready

And weren't you the one who sold at $9? So how is it that I sold at $11 and I have no balls?

And weren't you the one who sold at $9? So how is it that I sold at $11 and I have no balls? buying bulk bitcions takes balls. people who think bitcoin is to risky and so only put a few 100$ into it have no balls selling at 9 or 11 dollars, after buying at 5-6ish, is just good trading. to recap if you put in less then 500$ into bitcoin, you have no balls if you think bitcoin is a risky investment, you have no balls if you mine bitcoin only to sell it right away, you have no balls lol

For long term saving independent of state interference nothing beats gold and silver. Only problem is they are difficult to move and easy to steal. And can be just as volatile as Bitcoin, just look at 1978 http://goldprice.org/buying-gold/uploaded_images/gold-chart-757127.gif

Isn't part of "having balls" doing risky things?
