I want to buy 4 bitcoin right, but I don't feel safe doing so. Could I do 1btc at a time with out it being called spam?

Four bitcoin what? Buy/sell four bitcoin? You can use escrow if so but you don't need to post after each bitcoin you receive so I don't know why it would constitute as spam. Most people do the deals through PM anyway so as long as it's not an unsolicited message it won't be spam.

I want to buy 4 btc. But 1btc at a time. I have this sorted out so it is fine.
