Last night my computer crashed. The hard drive where multibit and the rest of my coins works. I can't load the drive normally but can access it as a 2nd drive when installed on another computer. I installed the hd drive on my other computer and accessed it from the desktop as drive D: after windows is loaded from drive C:

I can see all the files on drive D: but when i click on the multibit icon it loads a new address and not my old one with my bitcoins. This goes for the other alt coin wallets ive tried as well. So I guess its making address for drive C:.

How do i access my bitcoins and address that is stored on drive D: thru drive C:?

If i try and load drive D: as my main drive. It loads part way and just resets

If the old drive was running Windows 7 or 8, the wallet file should be in:

D:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Multibit\wallet.dat
(Where *username* is your own username)

Note that the path usually starts with C:\  but since your drive is now mounted as secondary drive, it should start with D:\  in your case.

"wallet.dat" is the name of the Bitcoin Core default wallet

For MultiBit the OP will want to look for a file "multibit.wallet"

The path is as sgk states.

MultiBit HD   Lightweight desktop client.                    Bitcoin Solutions Ltd   Bespoke software. Consultancy.
