I see now that BFL has begun selling cloud mining contracts. For $10k you get 5000 gh/s of mining capacity for only 12 months. But that'll only earn you roughly $5k in coins over the course of the year on average, probably less. So what gives? Why would anyone be interested in that!?

Just another BFL scam, nothing to see..

No one would mine there besides them while genesis mining giving 5000gh/s for $2350 for a "Lifetime" cotract..

There are even better offers than genesis-mining and at least same legit like hashnest or bit-x, and no one should pay BFL for anything, or it will end the same way as before Smiley with pre-orders, ''shipping'' equipment, mining with it for themselves, being investigated for scam, etc  Wink

To me GM is the best cloudmining service on the market. I may be wrong but I think the will go a long way..

the same reason they pay 10k for a miner that will generate around 5k in coins, people are bad at math.
