Get email notification of thread starter posts for a specific forum

Hi All, Is there a way I can get an email notification when a new thread is started on a particular forum? For example, I would like to get an email notification every time a new thread is started on the Announcements (Altcoins) forum.

I don't want to get notified of any replies, I only want to get notified when a new thread is started.

Is that possible? If yes, how?

Is there a way to sort the forum thread display by Start Date so the newest threads are at the top?

I think it is possible if you check ' Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply.' and in drop down list of 'For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:', select only replies. I am not sure though.

im looking for the same seems the pool developers have this option somehow through strange coding

You just need to visit the forum section and click "Notify" in the upper right corner and you'll get notified when new Threads are created in that forum and not when a user replies to posts.

To sort the forum thread click "Last post". https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0;sort=last_post

However, you'll be notified only once via email and until you don't visit that forum section, the second notification won't be sent. I hope this helps

I guess that link was for my session and hence it failed. Here is a screenshot which explains the procedure:



I took this image for the "bitcoin discussion" forum. Similarly, go to the Announcement (Altcoin) board and click "Notify" to be notified for new threads that are created.
