In as much as we'd like to have an effective government, we can't have it all, right? Every term, there is always an issue concerning the government and the people who are part of it, we cannot fully blame the person since we voted for them. On that note, what is the first thing you consider when selecting a candidate? Do you judge them based on their personality, their personal background, or maybe their outer appearance? Maybe this will shed some light on how our government really works. Smiley

If the candidate is a politician I'd obviously view their voting record and see how much of my money they like to give to others, then go from there. Ultimately, I vote for libertarian-republicans as they at least have a chance to win even tho there's not a whole lot of them. In everything else, I vote Libertarian as a protest vote or play the lesser of two evils at certain points.

All that voting system in modern democraty is just throwing dust in our eyes. We vote for person which we in most cases dont realy know and even if we do that person is not free to make his own decissions and follow his party politic which can change more than few times in time he is in possition. Real democraty is utopia and not possible at our stage of civilization developement. I guess one day technology might give us oportunity to make better system with sort of direct politic decissions.

Without a moral people that are keen and vigilant to protecting liberty there's not much you can do to change that outside of educating and focusing on what issues and candidates can win in certain circumstances. I won't stop trying considering the founders of the country went through many times worse in terms of their efforts to born the country as a secession from Britain. Most people can't or don't even consider what it was like to "put their lives, fortunes and sacred honor" on the line while these modern people merely have to stay informed and not let themselves get manipulated by the mainstream media that masquerades as legitimate journalism these days.

Voting standards? That's like synonym to honest thief or good politician.

Ok i`ll tell you guys the reality: democracy is a scam. Yes you heard it correctly, democracy is a scam.

The fact that you make the most uninformed, uneducated, dumb herd mentality people to choose the most vicious and shady sociopath tyrant on the voting list is not really my definition of civilized society Smiley

See the control freaks will always manipulate the dumb herd to give them more power and take away freedoms, they are highly opportunists and they do everything to gain power.

So by these arguments, voting is just a "keep in the game" scam, whereas people are propagandized that they have freedoms and they should vote for freedoms, whereas voting is just an illusion to choose from the currently available tyrants on the ballot, its simply as that.

People tend to see that voting is useless, and it is, so the voting participation rate goes down, but now in the US they are starting to make it mandatory, how funny that can be  Cheesy

ADDENDUM

Wtf man, an effective government? Thats the last thing you want to have. An effective government is basically a tyrrany, because thats all a government is a control freak command. If it's effective then it has total power and a police state tyrrany.

If it's corrupt then atleast it's loose, yea politicians steal all the money they get, but atleast it's not a total tyrrany. So i'd choose a corrupt government anytime than an efficient one.

The only role a government has is to control and enslave people, those which are the most efficient end up like North Korea or Stalinist Soviet Union.
