Um... check their feedback and post history and use escrow if they're not a reputable member I guess. I wouldn't send first to a low-level newb that's for sure.

Yes and 99% of the time you need to use escrow, don't just trust the trust.

Dont make anything hurry, research the seller, feedback and trust history is the most important, if they use escrow even better. If you have the time make some question to support or seller to see how their respond it may help.

Kind Regards,

That or go through one of those third party middleman services, which I suppose is close to escrow.

Face to face or online?

Face to face - some form of agreement for recourse if the product isn't to your liking

Online - trusted escrow agent you all trust.

When you trust someone for escrow, you're still trusting trust in one way or the another.  Wink

There are no chargebacks when sending bitcoins so trust is definitely needed in the merchant or a trustworthy escrow is needed.

I also recommended looking into their return policy if any so you know what you are getting yourself into.

ALWAYS TRADE WITH ESCROW IF YOU'RE UNSURE. That pretty much simplifies anything scammy going on. If you're looking to buy a physical product, make sure to get images and/or proof of ownership. This includes digital goods as well. Never trade with PayPal, especially with a brand new user here. Chances are he'll chargeback leaving you with nothing. Also something that has been looked over, make sure to get at least one confirmation with the transaction, double spends are possible.

see his trust first, than anything else

see always if they accept escrow, if not, something fishy

see if it is a newbie(many are just registering for scamming)

You have to think about these things before :
-Are you need the product?
-Are you can buy the product cheaper and easier without using BitcoinBTC?

Search how much can you trust the seller
Don't take action too quickly, think it twice
Use escrow for more secure

That's all from me, hope this helps  Smiley

1. Make sure the seller is not a Newbie or Jr. Member.
2. Check their reputation or trust score.
3. Check their previous sales history, if they don't have any...don't be the first to buy.
4. Make sure that they use escrow, one that you trust.
5. Don't purchase via PayPal or other reversible payment methods.
