I live in China. Use a VPN to get around the firewall. Want to be able to sell on Mt. Gox. Will the VPN, which moves my IP from country to country, fuck everything up?

I can't answer your quesiton, (hopefully you emailed mtgox as well) but I wanted to make sure you knew there was an exchange in China: https://btcchina.com/ (disclaimer: I have no personal experience with this exchange.)

Mt. Gox will probably require that you verify your identity with them.

Their terms on the signup page read:

Quote
"Please be advised that accessing your account via the Tor network and/or public proxies may result in a temporary suspension of your account, and having to submit AML documents."

I strongly advise you to get verified before starting using a VPN other jumping from IPs to IPs. These kind of behavior could be seen as an attempt to compromise an account and this account will then be locked immediately.

So my advise to you.

1. Have any doubts/Question : Contact the support!
2. Get Verified before doing anything that could lock you away from your funds.
3. Get an Yubikey or Google Auth linked to your account.

Good luck !

I have the exact same concern as the OP. This would be something worth clarifying on MtGox website, what's the official policy regarding this?
