We already have a scam accusation board, why not a board that would act as a community court? Such posts are created in various boards, why not contain them in one?

Also given that the trust system is not moderated and there's no intention to moderate it, I think that it would be fitting for appeals to be posted there. Surely this way people would feel more comfortable to publicly complain if they feel like a trust rating given by a trusted member is a bit too harsh or doesn't contain a reference that proves the claims.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Sounds like a good idea, except for the fact that most of the people complaining about abused trust are just hurt about getting negative trust. If someone abuses default trust, theymos usually removes them off default trust.

Most people on default trust usually provide good reasons for giving the negative trust.

In my opinion, everybody on default trust should have an "appeal to remove negative trust given" thread like Vod's:

alani123 are you suggesting just a board to discuss this so people get an idea of what's happening and post opinions? Or something like an actual biding poll?
Either way it'd be too hard to control this. Something like the scam accusations board would be the most we could get but then it wouldn't be too useful to create a new board just for this.

I think there is a case for a subforum which is like reverse scam accusations. If people are accused with things, they can create a place for the accusers to present any evidence they have. If they can't or it turns out to be obviously bogus, then the accused can be vindicated. At the moment it seems weird for a user to open a scam accusation against themselves.

dogie's reply manages to phrase this better than I could. I just noticed it too, I'm bumping this topic hoping to spark some more discussion.

I'm used to be against a proliferation of threads to deal with the same issue. I think having a reverse scam accusation would only lead to an increased burden on users doing their homework before going ahead with a trade due to having to check more threads. What you are asking is just the thing Scam Accusations threads are designed for. Actually people posting in Scam Accusation should provide evidences to support their claims (see the quoted escrow.ms post from Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly) thread), just like the accused have to do to clear their name (if not guilty).

Scam Report Format

Code:
[b][color=black]What happened:: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Scammers Profile Link: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Reference Link: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Amount Scammed: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Payment Method: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Proof of Payment: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]PM/Chat Logs: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Additional Notes: [/color][/b]
Copy and paste it in new thread then fill all data.

Scam report example:

What happened::
I saw escrow.ms's lolipop thread 4 days ago and placed a order for 1000 lolipops. After I sent him payment, he just went offline and never came back. I think he's a big liar and a scam artist. Stay away from him.

No its not, at all. Currently if I say you attack old ladies at night, and leave it like that.... you can't force me to provide evidence. I can just keep repeating it again and again in random threads. I'm not opening a scam accusation against you - why would I, I made it up. And so you don't have a venue to prove your innocence.

Why would we need due process or courts in a Theymostatorship?

I came up with a similar idea a while ago but it was denied. I guess we will just have to contend with an oligarchy ruling the trust system for the time being.

Meta is good enough for community thoughts/decisions.

Well you end up seeing the threads like the "dogie" thread, they refuse to provide evidence to their claims or even detail what the claims are and I can't reverse force them. That's what the reverse threads would allow - self vindication.

There is plenty of evidence provided by various members - you just choose to ignore it & elude every question asked, as usual.

Latest example:

And your million dollar business @ 13?.......please tell.

There is absolutely nothing good that can come from me telling you that.

Have you been a victim of dogie insults, neg-rep'd for no reason or been falsely accused by him? If so, air your experiences here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=905210.0
