xmr.link is an OpenAlias service implementation to work specificly with Monero.

With this service you can easly convert your monero address to any avaliable and short name of your choose instead of remembering an 95 char long key.
(You will remember it, and most important, the ones who want/need to send you money will remember it!)

Advantages of using xmr.link:

• Associate your bitcoin and monero address to one alias easy to remember
• Resolv dns address to bitcoin and monero address
• Know everywhere, everytime your address
• Already working with last simplewallet and mymonero
• DNSSEC avaliable
• 6 different domains that you can choose
• Easy to use
• Use your moneros

This service is still under development, some minor bugs can be expected.

Future implementations needed:

• More information on the page (know how to use)
• DNSSEC in all domains (currently only avaliable on xmr.rocks)
• QR Codes avaliable to use on forums, websites, ect..
• Public API that allows to register your name remotely and annonymus based only on payment_id (should be usefull to implement on gui wallets)

At this stage my first priority was develop it for XMR, adapt it to provide BTC address its a question of time.. I realy dont know if bitcoin-qt and other wallets already support openalias.. anyone know ?

Why useless ?  For the posts i previous watch from you i know that you dont support monero, so probably you are reading the wrong posts... about beeing useless i am 100% open for sugestions to improve the service but calling it just useless seems a litle dificult to know why it is useless.... it works the same way as you dont go to your browser and put 216.58.208.14, it just dont make sense for you today right ? you go to your browser and use google.com

I know that at the momment theres no mutch information on the website about how it works and i am sorry for it, but i will work on it with time, and for now if you have any question you can just ask and i will help, but if you are here just to troll please use another thread or i will be forced to start deleting posts

This is a cool service and especially useful for me since I don't know how to set up my own openalias address. I think electrum supports openalias but I am not positive.

I have one question though. Wouldn't it be possible for the service operator to change the address the openalias points to and start stealing payments?

Its not in my plans, but yes its possible, you will have to trust the provider (even at top domains we have to trust the provider)

Im sorry for not posting documentation yet

You can search for an name of your choose on on the searchbar, if the name is avaliable to purchase you will see one button with the value in XMR that you need to for own that name for the time period of 1 year (there is no place informing that on the site too, my  bad)

To deposit the XMR you can go to balance (https://xmr.link/balance) and check your payment_id, also i give you one line to use directly on simplewallet

the payment usualy take about 2 minutos to be credited

thanks for this great service.

I tried to register, got the confirmation link and changed the password but when I try to log in in simply sits there.

There is no error message as well so I'm not sure what could be wrong.

Update:
From now on you can associate your bitcoin address to your alias as well, just go to manager and define it.

Now you can resolv your adress on browser and have all your address's, you can just give the link to someone and even if they are not using electrum wallet in case of bitcoin, or for another whatever reason

bitcoin payments are listed to be the next step
