Well I hope it starts out @ .00900000 because I paid .00552500 to rent a mining rig for 6 hours to mine only 1 coin.

Never rent rigs on the first day, unless you are part of the instamine right at the start or if it really is a coin that you know will be worth a lot in future.

I think one of the best things that the community can do that is mining this coin is shout out to the exchanges about getting this coin listed on them :)  Then we can see the true value of this coin and what people actually feel that it is worth :)  Unless someone wants to make me an offer on 250 CF then let me know ;)

Price is not as healthy as i would have thought, although not as bad as it could be.  I'm still holding out for 009 :)

Nice to see this coin finally listed on an exchange :) I still urge everyone to continue pressuring other exchanges so we can get maximum volume trading out of this coin because the way things are right now it shouldn't be trading for any less than 250k a coin in my opinion due to the scarcity and the rareness of the coin itself ;) Cheers

I think if the Dev gets a block explorer going and some sort of future plans going for what they are going to plan on doing with this coin that we should see a price rise for sure. I mean under 20k a coin right now is a freaking steal of a joke and I know that this coin will easily be worth 150k in the upcoming weeks.  Plus I highly doubt that the person who bought 6 BTC worth up to 200k a coin when it launched on Bittrex was just throwing his BTC away.  I mean what people need to realize is that this is a straight POW coin there isn't going to be anymore than 2.52 million coins in existence ever!! That means that with the coin supply as low as it is right now that this coin should at least be trading around 100k a coin not 20k a coin.  People need to help promote this coin and help get the word out about it and let people realize that it's not just a flavor of the week coin like 8bit was or like some other coins were.  I only pointed out 8bit because it was at what 400k a coin the other day and now its around 100k a coin.  That coin was clearly pumped and dumped hard with a very quick POW phase and very quick pumping and dumping and promoting by the shillers who got into that coin.  But Californium could be a coin that could hold it's value and gain more value if the Dev and team and community get behind this coin and help people realize that this is a coin worth buying at these prices and more!! I think the Whale who bought shit load ( >6btc) of this coin on the first day listing at bittrex, suppressed the market price so much next day should have scared/ demotivated the developer. go easy whale. From 200K to 10K is too much  :D ...you almost killed the coin. Imagine you release a coin and find your coin's marketcap dive to 6btc in three days...

The Dev only premined not even 100 CF so there would be no point for him to quit and dump the 100 coins. It would make no sense and yes I agree if everyone quits dumping their mined coins for dirt cheap the price of this coin could rise again to the proper price that it should be at which in my opinion is around 100k to 150k a coin

The rate at which coins are minted out now, CF will have 500K coins in less than a week. At 500K coin supply and with liberal 10K satoshi as coin price, the marketcap will be more than 50 btc. People who bought above 60K satoshi are likely screwed. I don't understand the developers who release a coin and then go on hibernation unless they dumped their premine. First few weeks after coin release are always crucial to keep the volume & momentum. Enthusiastic whale is screwed too.

Low interest. Abysmal marketcap. Bittrex going to delist your sorry asses next week and the coin is dead. It's not 2013 anymore. Your plan to pull this off is a weak one. Listing on trex is a moronic move for a longterm coin that's ment to be mined for years and hold maybe some value with some sane specs. Listing on trex kills you because accumulation till halving is 4.5 months now - and you don't even get a pump going to top 100 in this current dry conditions in the markets. So actually it's already dead.

With listing on trex you can basically trash it and relaunch. They are only good for fastmine and flashmine pump and dump the premine and then abandon. Coin-hopping and these strategies. That's what trex does. NEVER list a decent project there that has long accumulation planned because they delist you right before the halving and then you're fucked.

Why sit there and waste 1 or 2 year waiting for the halvings? Uno is already low inflation and scarce and has solid community. Which is better?: Buying CF wich has no dev and will be a lot of work, patience, energy, commitement to even establish longterm - and i mean a lot OR buying Uno where everything is in place already and no more miners dumping on you and the coin actually hold value even with low demand.
Uno community always welcomes new people. It's totally not too late to grab a seat on the Uno bus. I think your energies will be used wiser with that.

Think this way: if you try to copy other longterm coins before they mature you'll get less cap on each and therefore huge successes won't happen for anyone and subsequently people won't believe in alts anymore if we can't pull off at least one or two screaming success stories in alts per year. So it is in the interest of everyone to joint forces on one project and bring that to fruition before launching the next (similar) thing. Uno is by far not mature yet. The cap is impressive for how small that community actually is. And it's actually more stable than any other coin. Now 10 months in a bullmarket and still going. What more do you want? ATH was 36$ back then btw... and now is lower inflation even so actual target should be way above ath. Just not so fast right now. CF can easily turn out as waste of recources and clusterfuck while Uno is past that stage already, less risky, in bullmarket, stable, has updates coming, lots of good news all the time, infrastructure, merchant acceptance and is a real moneytoken with real world applicaton already.

If the community only produces failures there won't be any business here in 2 or 3 years.

I remember wolong pumped the fk out of UNO to 0.035 ? some how before some popular exchange got hacked and dump UNO at cryptsy ?

UNO is over also.

It was 0.044 ATH over one year ago. Wolong is probably long gone. Coinex did not get hacked. They stole the funds themselves and did the runner. They dumped huge amounts on the market up until July last year. Well, it survived it and is now almost 1 year going strong. Community is also strong and updates coming and whatnot. I don't think it's 'over' by any means. Actually it looks quite healthy imo.
Keep an eye on it. Block halving is coming up next month and merge mining with bitcoin which will bring up the hashrate at least 10-fold (maybe even 100 fold) and make sure the coin will be around for a very long time.
It is currently the second strongest Sha256 network on the planet and always has been since its creation. It's one of the most scarce coins out there right now. So, no, it's not over by any means...

The market of this coin very sensitevely reacts when the dev says a word. With each word price rises up by at least 1000 SAT. Maybe if dev wrote at least 10 sentences, the price would jump by couple of tens of thosands up. :)

What you should be concerned first is to get some trade volume to the coin or else it's delisted.

Look at BlackCoin now, I wouldn't believe that with coin supply 75 millions this beast can be still pumped to 19K. :) So when pumpers are done with BC, maybe they notice this little innocent coin and pump it to Mars. :)

I got exactly 40k, all bought under 1k. And i've been buying and selling to my own order to provide some volume. Cheap coin right now, wouldn't want it to be delisted.

The original dev disappeared in 2015 a few months after launch.  Last year I made a webpage,
added a block explorer, and started some some code cleanup.  Ran out of time, but hoping to
find some more in the next few months.

Add the two addnode lines to the config file.  I guess the config is at
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Californium\Californium.conf on Windows but not sure.

Interesting little project... Market cap is so low that it strikes me as the type of project worth trying to revitalise. Just need to focus it on California and take the New York coin approach of making it city centric.

I'm with you. I think rare vintage crypto will be worth a lot in the future just like other collectibles.

But I don't think we need to change the name or consensus method or add new features.

I think we keep it simple. Get the website back up and update the code to keep up with Bitcoin Core releases.

We just gotta keep the project alive, the fact that it is one of the oldest is our biggest strength that can never be copied - let's just focus on that.

The coin is dead in the water, which is a pity, as I have been mining this coin for over a year:(

I would be interested as a coin dev to restart this coin, but let's face it, the coin needs to be
fully restarted with new technology. As it would effectively be a new coin, then we could arrange a swap
facility to get everyone with coins over to the new coin.

So how will I do this?

    STEP one    -> Download existing Californium code, build a server and wallets

    STEP two    -> Start the server on a VPS so that you can synch Californium and trade coins.

    STEP three  -> Create a new coin with similar properties, but new features, PoW, PoS, Masternodes, etc

    STEP four    -> Swap existing Californium coins to new coins.

Let me know if you are interested.
