We chose to take over because the essence of the project is undeniable.

Sadly cool physical robots in need of their own cryptocurrency are still decades away, so we decided to work on the ones living in the virtual space ;)

Maybe, maybe not. Master nodes are a lazy person's way of trying to make a coin rarer.

Another possible approach to do this is by burning DRX for tokens that enable users to rent processing power "in the fog".

We did too. DRZ had a nice and friendly community. We hope to get some of them back on our way!

I agree about the masternodes. It played out correctly with LIMX (more developer interaction, community involvement, and trading), all factors had effect.

There's strange buy every day on ccex, from ~15k to ~20k DRZ per day in the last month.

Small development update:

Right now we are trying to get exchanges to change the ticker from DRZ to DRX.

It's unsure which exchanges can support us but should trading be disabled on Bittrex or anywhere else it's due to the renaming.

As soon as that situation is sorted out we will work on the new roadmap.

Haven't heard back from the other exchanges but Bittrex responded saying if we want the ticker changed they would have to delist the market and it would have to go through the approval process again.

Not sure what they exactly mean but will let you know as soon as we have more info.

New wallet works fine, dev is very dedicated and quickly answers to private messages. Can't wait for a new roadmap.

Sorry to keep you waiting.. Not getting a clear response from the Bittrex support team about the name change and unable to get in touch with Richie directly.

So far the info we have is that if we want the name change they would delist the coin and shutdown the wallet, which means users would have to withdraw everything and potentially risk losing coins. Afterwards DRX would have to get listed again just like any other new coin.

If this goes on too long we might just have to switch back to droidz and adjust to that.

I think we better switch back to DROIDZ for the time being. You know these exchanges, their issues can ruin the success of a coin, if not handled carefully.

ehhh Yeah that was obvious, they are greedy. There is no point in paying them for the second time. But I like this new design, looks really clean and simple. IMO it would be better to keep the old ticker and combine it somehow with new design and focus on the development. That's really the only way to bring new investors.

A visual identity is an integral part of every brand, since it is the part which is the easiest to relay to newcomers. But that's why we brought a veteran designer on board, so we can focus on the technical side of things ;)

Since we are no marketing experts and have limited time while working on this we ask the community to come up with PR ideas.

We decided to drop the renaming to DRX since there was no quick solution with Bittrex on the horizon.

The project will continue as DROIDZ / DRZ. Updated wallets will be out shortly.

Minor development update:


The new wallets to reflect the return to DROIDZ / DRZ and the new design are out along with a small user requested update to the staking icon.

We still see a lot of the original 1.2.0.0 wallets on the network. If you haven't updated please do as soon as possible!

As long as seeding wallets on the network run the old version there could be problems for new users!

Almost every coin right now is just a speculative asset. Some protocol innovation here, a cool new feature there.. As soon as the bubble pops and attention
fades the traders take profit and move on. Because there is no substance. Eventually there is no innovation left to develop, no news to share. The

The old wallets should gradually die out as we progress. Too bad the majority of the seeding wallets are still 1.2.0.0.

The hotfix we are applying works quickly and we are almost always around to help.

To make things smoother for newcomers we will be putting up some nodes sooner or later when funding becomes available.

I think it will be OK if you also post wallet updates on current page within the thread (and also on front page), because some users usually check the last 2 or 3 pages instead of checking the FRONT PAGE.

Meanwhile we are trying to get in touch with all the exchanges to see if they are supporting us or what their requirements would be.

Other coins like DRK changed name with no issues. Plus, you're throwing random bitcoin amounts because you don't know how to do it too. Who's stupid now? :)

But if you think that's reasonable thing to do...  :D Let the developers regain investors trust which will result in higher volumes and higher marketcap. Then maybe it will make sense to rebrand this coin. Rebranding isn't costless.

To clarify the situation:

We put in a support ticket with Bittrex notifying them that we are the new dev team and would like to request a name & ticker change. We provided all the necessary info and contacts.

Ryan's response was that the coin would have to be delisted and the wallet closed. People would have had to withdraw and in the most severe case lose coins if they didn't make it in time. The coin would then be treated like any other new coin asking for addition to Bittrex.

We contacted Richie, who replied that they have a strict policy not to do renames, since it had been abused in the past. He offered we could state our claim on IRC directly with him, which we tried for a few days but he never replied to our DM.

The whole process took approx. 1 week. So instead of stalling development until that issue would have been resolved we decided to stick with the old name and ticker.

We don't know if a payment from our side to Bittrex would have made any difference but tbh that's not how we do things. It would have always felt like a bribe.

It turned out to be a lot more work than we anticipated, especially if you wanna do it right from the beginning and not have to go back to redo the basics. But we're learning :D

I think the deadline is the best option to deal with possible bots. How are you going to draw the winner? Assigning a number according to the retweet timeline and then using random.org to draw a number from 1-2xx?

As for new name vs old debate - I do not believe it is necessary atm to change it. Delisting from Bittrex and other exchanges and then applying for new listing is a lot of work with uncertain outcome. I believe it is not worth it right now.

Imho, right now, we need you to stick around, enjoy developing this coin a producing complete roadmap, so the new comers and old time holders would see where this is going.

We have updated the first page with the full roadmap :)

Since this is not completely coherent if you haven't followed us so far, we will provide a short synopsis soon.

In a few words: DROIDNET will be a decentralized market for computing power. Imagine a network like NiceHash but without a central provider and more functionality.

But in all seriousness, we don't ask anyone to give us more credit than we have proven to deserve up to that point.

What we have done so far is we..

- ..have taken over an abandoned coin

- ..created an appealing wallet and updated checkpoints

- ..got in touch with exchanges to secure their support

- ..created a professional branding

- ..came up with a purpose for the coin that makes sense and is realistic

- ..created a roadmap with detailed steps how we will achieve our vision

- ..have shown that we are communicative, helpful and care for our community


Everything apart from that is just nice words on a pretty image at this point. We are confident we can realize the features advertised, can promise to be here to comfort the community and will do our best to make this coin a success. Both in technology and in market cap. We can guarantee the first, but cannot 100% completely guarantee the latter.

We believe in ourselves and our capabilities, in the end it's everyone's personal choice if they do too :)

Hey community,

things have calmed down after the giveaway and the usual turmoil that is associated with the release of a
roadmap. Groundwork is done and we are ready to begin work on the changes outlined in the roadmap.

The first release containing major modifications to the codebase will incorporate a new hardcoded seed node,
the fix for the pos weighting, a few minor UI changes and maybe even the in-wallet trading, depending how
fast things progress. I2P will be pushed to a separate release because a healthy and functioning network is
our primary concern at this point. We are aiming for a release next week.

Since communication will get a bit more quiet from our side we'll try to have some announcements or news
or a giveaway so everyone can rest assured that we are actively involved!

One has to be in the early stages of a coin's live, whether new or taken over from someone else.

We can't expect anyone to blindly trust us from the start. Let us have our first release(s) and then we will work on

Just reporting to say we are on track with development. We're happy the market isn't particularly influenced
by what happens in the background so we will take the time needed to get everything right and hit the ground
running!

We won't give any hard dates but it's going according to plan. Of course that doesn't mean much so stay tuned ;)

Edit: We have noticed the increased market activity too. There seems to be an aggressive bot working Bittrex to
acquire coins fast so we advise not to overreact to what's happening, good or bad.

We have updated the front page with an infographic about the market cycle.

The Hive is the core of DROIDNET. It will permanently keep taking coins off the market and destroy
them to reduce supply. The resulting deflationary system will give the remaining coins more value.

As soon as the first developments for infrastructure are done we will begin a large offensive to look
for a constant flow of new money. Think of NiceHash, SETI, Folding@Home and others. These are all
potential applications that could run on DROIDNET.

I checked the blockchain today.

A lot of people are still using the old wallet: 8 on old wallet, and only 4 on new wallet.

In the process of updating to new wallet now. Building for rasp pi 2... The original Droidz wallet built very nicely!

It is a pity that the old DEV ran away.

He ran away with 70 BTC, when he could have easily re-invested a fraction of that money to earn a few hundred BTC.

People never look at the big picture.

Well it wasn't as smooth as the first. It stopped compiling after it couldn't find libleveldb.a or .b. I made those files, and it finished building. It's syncing back up currently, but upon initial load up, my wallet is gray and not black like the one in the OP. Oh well.. As long as it works!

Is there anyway the other two windows can be made to not pop up during the syncing process? Droidz has been the only wallet I've seen do this...

You have to build LevelDB manually when compiling, but you figured that out yourself :)

We've noticed some color drifting across the different operating systems too. The purple line displays
with a more blue-ish shade on one build system and a more red-ish shade on another. It's slightly annoying
but not enough to justify spending time on a closer examination atm ;)

The wallet has a slight transparency built in on a desktop OS. If you have a very bright background that
could explain the gray you experience.

You can change it when compiling yourself without risking compatibility. Send us a PM if you decide to
recompile :)

True, but the spread is still very high. It is difficult at the moment to find a good time to buy some more DRZ.  :-\

We are here to show our support for the community. Since we had to delay our second (major) wallet release a bit
we want to show you that we are not abandoning anything :)

In times where we work on the code it's you keeping the thread alive and we are thankful for that. Too many good
ideas in crypto get wasted cause developers aren't good at communicating, which in turn weakens the community
and then gives the fudders an easy target. Eventually everyone, devs including, are so fed up they just leave.

Just tell us if we should leave for two weeks to shake out the last remaining weak hands ;)

Jokes aside, we are proud of anyone who is holding their coins and not considering selling. This gives us a
nice perspective on how dedicated you guys are and we appreciate it.

We are eagerly waiting.

During the last months 600 is the lowerest price DRZ reached, so I think that is the bottom, where I will buy more. 600 to 900 is a good buy. If the coin keep this way probably it can go back to ico price. But who knows...

The coin is crashed. Absence of devs is killing it. It dropped lower than ever, even more than it was before the new dev appeared.

Not sure who is dumping. If it were big volumes, I would have supposed it is new dev who is dumping the coin. But volumes are small, and the reason of such fall is price is just the absence of buy support. No development shown - hence no buy support...

If the new dev was holding the bag and slowly cashed them then yes this will need a takeover again from the next bagholder. I maybe one as I had brought some cheap worthless coin but you never know.

Regardless of the attitude to this "takeover", lets be objective. The new DRZ developer is definitely not the same as the old one.

If you care to compare their behavior, you would see they are drastically different. The first one was actualy more of an actual developer (programmer) than social person. The second one seems to more talk than do... To be exact, we have seen nothing other than talk from him up to the moment (well, he updated the logo.. but that was the only "development".. :) ).

But.. aside of this... something tells me the Droidz story is not over yet :). See the big Bittrex volume today. Fake or not, who cares :)

Evething can still happen, I'm glad that my 19 DRZ (yeah that's not a lot  :D) are still worth something even if I can't sell them because their total value is lower than 50 000 satoshis !

This repetitive behavior by crypto developers is boring. They are corrupting the crypto world. We need a hostile takeover. Someone needs to salvage these broken/abandoned coins. Ones with stable wallets and good block explorers along with community support/stranded investors. I would background check the developers.

Yep, its a shame the DroidX disappeared too. Though there was not much development seen from him, he was much better than nothing, and also better than the original scammer DRZ Dev who turned to be just a miserable thief having basic development skills and in addition to that was not even able to communicate with his community.
DroidX was able to communicate well at least :)

Seems like the market is active on trex (and ccex too)...buy support (on trex) is doubled from 0.3 to 0.8...not to much, but better than nothing.

In the meantime that weird and funny movement trying to not delist (???) DRZ from trex and ccex is stil running.

It cost me a few Droidz to get Droidx to help us, but he too went away. Droidx was a member of the old Driodz thread, but used a new name after we had private talks.
