Thank you for mentioning.  Yes to activate account and add credit you need to have a credit card link.   You can use virtual credit cards though if you have access.

It should work for any Google Cloud Platform account that is active (ie use credit card or bank to verify.  I highly suggest virtual credit card if you have access.  If not some sell them on digital goods.)

If you can prove some hole in system and code did not work you will be given refund minus transaction fees to send.

I received my code and credit has been added. It is processing now I will let everyone know when it goes through.  Looks like the $500 codes are good for 3 months. Mine expires at the end of October 2015.

No just promo codes.  You can use a regular credit card.  But i suggest virtual credit cards as you can set a 1-2 dollar limit and it will pass the test of being valid, without worrying about going what happens if you go over the 500 or 800 promo.

Just a tip for those using it for virtual machine mining.  You can save a good amount of money going with linux.  It is free and no license fee compared to windows.  Which means you get more out of your cash :)

It is nice to know that virtual machines are cheaper to run on Linux, I can take a vouch copy for amount cheaper than the price.

$5 is the vouch price :).   It's a bargain for 500 credit and 800 if new account.   It will go up in price later.

Actually setting the Virtual Machines is extremely easy.  It's point/click on setting up the virtual machine.   From there you SSH if using Linux Google has it integrated in so easy to use.  Or if you are more comfortable with widows it's remote desktop. 

Windows is easier if not familiar with Linux, but the license fee is there.  Linux if you are familiar with it no license fee, multiple distributions to choose from.

Additional tip Google limits 24 cores per project.  But you can have multiple projects :).  So if you are trying to use lots of cores at once you can use multiple projects.

I will like you to give six 4 cores on it, simply give me the rdp logins though I will provide the google account.

These are the last 2 codes I have.  They are still good codes as they issued them good for 30 day's.   I don't expect to be able to get more as promo code to get these credits is done.

So two left then I will be out likely until google does another promo (cannot say when this will be).   Both codes still have around 20 day's left for them to be redeemed so still very good promo codes, and now harder to get.

Decided not to raise price instead sell last two at $5.  This is now a bargain for new accounts or even old accounts.

The code that is sold comes as a web address, with code in it.  You enter link when logged into your account and it's going to add it.  Each code is unique.

The general structure is: https://console.developers.google.com/billing/redeem?utm_source=&utm_medium=coupon# after a code follows.  It brings up your billing specifically to enter the code.

But yes very easy to use since it is in URL form when sent to you.
