History

Sling began back in April 2015. It was an ambitious project...one that promised to deliver a fast crypto currency combined with a decentralized marketplace and a p2p encrypted messaging system for private communications.

The original developer known as D.G Slayer provided incentive to support the Sling network via masternodes, the entry cost to creating a masternode was set at 7331 Sling and that remains today.

With it's marketplace as the primary focus Sling is a prime example of a bleeding edge technology yet to catch on. Blockchain technology outside of currency is increasingly a hot subject in 2015/16 and Sling provides just that, it's not just about the currency.

The initial market built by D.G Slayer (the original developer) was an unfinished product that posed risk to the people entering into the escrow system. There was a risk that if the buyer didn't enter into the escrow system the sellers funds could get stuck. In other words the marketplace was unsafe and unusable.

However, the foundations were in place for anybody with enough talent and vision to pick up the pieces and carry on where the original dev team left off.

Sling was mostly looked over and ignored by many in the crypto community and for months Slings flash fire all but burned out. That wasn't to be as some die hard visionists (new dev team) realised there was actual substance within the project and all it needed was some ongoing TLC.

In stepped a helping hand by way of CryptoVote (with over 20 years programing experience) who could offer hands on coding expertise to move the project in the right direction.

Slings initial parameters were to provide the world a means of buying and selling goods on an open and non governed market, that is unchanged and indeed a reality most of the code is already laid out as can be seen (https://github.com/CryptoDJ/sling).

You can buy and sell items on Slings decentralized market as of today, however there are some issues that the new developer CryptoVote has spotted and is fixing, it is strongly advised to wait until those fixes are in place before attempting to trade within Sling.

I'm not taking over, neither I was a bagholder,  The coin the minute it died was taken over by CryptoDJ (CryptoVote) and is currently already been developed by him, only thing, we still had that shitty ANN

Thanks

I don't remember discussing CounterParty & Coloured coins in the previous Sling thread.  What ideas do you have regarding these two technologies? For now, I think we should remove those from the title but we need more than Decentralized Markets.

Maybe add Decentralized Markets with HTML5 UI Development. I am also working on upgrading the core C++ to fix many bugs with the current version ("Re-basing Core"). After that, developing the reputation/rating system for the market.  Also, a decentralized messaging system for buyers/sellers that doesn't require both nodes to be online for successful delivery is needed for a functional market.

As you can see, I think Sling should focus on the decentralized market.

Does anyone know why the dev left? Sorry I'm behind on what's going on.  And is the marketplace functional? If so, I feel like a new competent dev would gladly take over working on a decentralized market.  Sounds amazing!

We are not sure why the original dev, DJ Slayer left.

The market is functional but not ready to be used as a production system.

Hi, anyone aware what problem cryptsy has with their wallet maintanance, how long it already lasts ? (I know what you will say about cryptsy this days)

I'm trying sling wallet at home, lot of orphans, if it stops to sync then after reopening it starts again for some time.

We all know it, but it doesn't change a thing that wallet hangs itself from time to time (know problem same as crave) and after 2 days of working with all addnodes still is out of sync, now I know why they got it in  maintanance, any ETA for a new wallet ?

Well, Sling is a derivative of Crave, currently CryptoVote is working on the improved codebase

Thank You, I'm really greatful for Your help, my home wallet is finishing now syncing after third day.

If Bittrex can do it, then Cryptsy too, the question is if they want to. ;)

Maybe it's a lame solution, but uploading an official bootstrap of blockchain can help and save a lot of time and stress. I can do it , but it shouldn't be me in this case.

Not sure if it was already mentioned but were the extra DNS seednodes setup with MCDev?

With those there shouldn't be any sync problems.

My PoS is working.

My Linux daemon is staking and receiving PoS rewards using v2015.09.17.  I'll check the Windows version from that tag release but need to transfer the blockchain from my VPS otherwise it will take some time for the Windows Qt to download the chain using P2P.

I have been working with the Dark Silk developer recently to fix the code base and after it is released I will apply these to Sling since they both are direct Crave forks plus the market db/Qt UI.  DarkSend and InstantX will be added as well as numerous fixes to core functionality.

Can someone explain why you are doing cpr on sling?
What does sling have to offer that you don't find in BitBay, Blackcoin, Sys, Shadow, and bitcoin itself?

Edit: Not fudding. I really want to know. I have invested in every "market" coin that I believe has a chance to make it, and I will also do so with sling and others if there is real innovation there.

My main interest is the decentralized market and getting masternodes more involved with the network operations. In addition to DarkSend and InstantX, I want masternodes to relay encrypted shards for messaging.  Secure messaging is needed for the market so buyers and sellers can communicate without leaving the UI.  I don't think any of the other coins have secure messaging where it will work in a widely adopted production market system.  Either the delivery is not guaranteed or the messages are stored encrypted on a public block chain.  The problem with the latter is that one day the encryption will be broken and accessible to all.

Once I fix some core issues, I will start innovating with Sling by adding a decentralized rating system, a new HTML5 Market UI that connects to the node and the secure messaging using MNs.  It is not much fun right now fixing leftover issues but it is building my knowledge on how the core classes work.  Right now, I'm working on splitting CBlock into three classes (CBlockHeader and CBlockPoS) to keep up with efficiencies added by Bitcoin and Dash.  It keeps breaking PoS but I will get it to work.

So the innovation will be the messaging?

innovation = production grade decentralized market system.

I don't think any coin with a decentralized market is at a production level where vendors and buyers will adopt their system.  Some are getting closer but none can argue they are production grade.  I plan to get Sling to a level, in terms of functionality, where it can be fully utilized by buyers/vendors as a reliable market system.  If that is not innovation then you are over simplifying the task and overlooking the fact that a fully functional open source decentralized market doesn't exist yet and it is almost 2016...

U can download a hourly generated bootstrap here:

Link: Bootstraps (http://85.214.95.177/sling-uploads/bootstrap/)

Usage:
- Close ur Wallet and wait until its also closed in ur taskmanager
- Download the bootstrap-latest.7z
- UnZip it with 7z or WinRAR (or ur prefered tool)
- Place the bootstrap.dat file in ur Data Folder
- Start ur Wallet and wait until the import is done
- When the import is done the boostrap.dat file is renamed to bootstrap.old and u can delete it

Guys i really appreciate your hard work! i just saw on Bittrex that the Delisting Warning is there again, if someone want to buy or sell a bit there that would help :)
The 7 Day Volume has to be increased until the 4 Dec. up to 1.4 BTC. (currently 0.1BTC)

Can someone remove all the crap in the marketplace?

Steady staking . . .

You can't remove a listing from a decentralized market network but I can add a button to delete a listing locally.  Is that what you are asking for?

adding a "anti-spam" fee per Listing would solve the Problem instantly. it could also be nice to add standard fee for 14 Days Listing and extended Fee for let's say 30 Day Listing.

If "anti-spam" fee per listing is not too difficult to implement and it will combat spam (pointless listings that clutter the market interface) it sounds like it's worth integrating; esp if the aim is to get sling market up to production grade quality.

I like the fee idea. Sucks the marketplace is full of gay sex toys and shit.

Exiting stuff. I'm glad I have been staking  ;)

I have tried to setup "masternode" multiple times with no success. I still have enough coin to do so as I'm a "bagholder" and have not sold. Still interested in setting up my wallet for masternode but got lost in the lack of instructions, when I tried months ago. I am not a programmer and I don't think the majority of the other guys here are either. If instructions have been updated that would be great, please send link. Thanks in advance, long live the sling.

Well, its not good....

While working on InstantX, I have found that masternodes where not meant to run with PoS or at least with its current implementation.  The PoS block rewards are not random like PoW so masternodes can be manipulated by high stakers.  Masternode quorums, masternode payment selection, InstantX and DarkSend are not safe with the current code.  We need to find another solution and I need the communities help with this.

Since PoS creates the hash variable in the CMasterNode::CalculateScore method below, it can be manipulated to fix the masternode payment.  Malicious code can be written to pre-calculate hashes to make your masternode "score" more favorable when you mint a block with PoS.

Code:
//
// Deterministically calculate a given "score" for a masternode depending on how close it's hash is to
// the proof of work for that block. The further away they are the better, the furthest will win the election
// and get paid this block
//
uint256 CMasterNode::CalculateScore(int mod, int64_t nBlockHeight)
{
    if(pindexBest == NULL) return 0;

    uint256 hash = 0;
    uint256 aux = vin.prevout.hash + vin.prevout.n;

    if(!GetBlockHash(hash, nBlockHeight)) return 0;

    uint256 hash2 = Hash(BEGIN(hash), END(hash));
    uint256 hash3 = Hash(BEGIN(hash), END(aux));

    uint256 r = (hash3 > hash2 ? hash3 - hash2 : hash2 - hash3);

    return r;
}

Dash uses PoW for masternode payments and doesn't use PoS.  Dash's PoS are their masternode tier.  I think there are solutions to this problem without using PoW.

These are the two options I have come up with so far to get masternodes fully functional:

1) Turn PoW on again.
2) Use the block hash generated from another coin.

The development fund would definately help with hosting costs.  If we can get masternodes working, I would like to implement Dash's budget system to sponsor development and foundation projects.

Got lots of servers running which could be set up for what you need.
Our project in xqn is holding sling for a long time and we are interested in helping out where possible.
Actually, sling could become a partner/cooperator in our comming service node project where we plan a mega swap/merge.

If it could be done safely then perhaps it is the best solution.

We would need people to mine the coin though to keep it secure.

With the price so low it might not be very attractive to mine so that would be only downside I can see.

Fairglu responded for the block explorer. He'll do it but he asks for a hosting contribution of either $55 for 6 months or $100 a year.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

Sorry to keep chainposting it's just there isn't much activity so there isn't much choice tbh.

Is there anyway we can get the wallet to sync faster?

Blocks are taking FOREVER to download meaning new users (and old) must find it very discouraging.

Bitcoin solved that issue with something called headers first synchronization:  https://bitcoin.org/en/glossary/headers-first-sync (https://bitcoin.org/en/glossary/headers-first-sync)
We are currently adding that to DarkSilk and I will be able to do the same for Sling after the release.

Title: Faststart pack

Hi

Can someone provide a faststartpack up to date, please?
I downloaded the one from "altblockchains" but sling seems to find a problem on block "751" so it's stuck 2 weeks ago.
I have connexions, but syncing doesn't work.

CryptoVote will no doubt provide a much clearer response... but afaik, the work he's been undertaking on other coins is proving to be a valuable learning experience. After exchanging messages with him he said (to the effect) that he's going to return to sling once that work is completed and apply that coding knowledge to improve Sling.

I plan to pick up Sling after we launch DarkSilk.  There are many problems with the current Sling code base, I really didn't know where to start.  I was initially going to work on a new HTML5 UI but then the lead developer left.  When Spencer, the lead DarkSilk developer, saw me cherry picking his commits for Sling, he recruited me because we had the same goals.  DarkSilk started out as a Crave fork plus Sling's marketplace in April 2015 but the has been upgrading the code since then.

With DarkSilk, we are close to being up to date with Bitcoin 0.12.x, Dash 0.12.x (Masternodes, InstantX, DarkSend, Budgets), and Blackcoin (PoS).  DarkSilk has a team so when I get stuck, they sometimes help.  They also have way more cryptocurrency experience than I.

I work part-time on crypto.  I have a full time job architecting and writing medical software used by physicians and nurses at hospitals/clinics which is very different than decentralized crypto.  I don't get to use C++ in my day time job anymore but have been using the language since the 90s and is my favorite.

I am getting to know the latest Bitcoin, Dash, Syscoin BlockMarket and Blackcoin code base well and how they work so after DarkSilk, I should be an experienced decentralized crypto dev.

My work on DarkSilk is taking way longer than expected and I am sorry about that.  After Sling, I plan to work on BTX.  I want to make BTX a blockchain casino coin using Dash's masternodes as virtual dealers but need to focus on Sling after DarkSilk.  Sling will be different than DarkSilk but can't explain right now as my ideas are still evolving.

Hi,

i just discoverd that there is a FORK in the Network, i send some Sling to Bittrex and the Transaction was Broadcasted via 4 Nodes and never arrived Bittrex when i Compare the Last Block with my last Block i can see that there is a Split about 10K blocks.
How can that be solved?

I don't see that transaction on the chain using MCDev's block explorer:  http://blox.slingcoin.rocks/

Sling appears to fork quite often now.  I am still working on a stable code base so we can transfer to a new chain.  Transfercoin has a stable code base if we don't want to wait for the DarkSilk release.

Is tehre an ICO for this yet?

Sling is already released.but we will be doing a 1:1 swap after I'm finished with a new standard and robust code base that fixes many core issues affecting reliablity and usability like creating way too many orphan blocks.  The current version has too many core issues to fix so Sling is better off with a new chain and core source code.  The current chain forks often and the chain is too slow and unreliable to download to name just some big issues with the current and previous wallet version.  Also, PoS takes up way too many resources but this same issues affects all PoS coins when their are too many split tranactions in your wallet.  Our chain needs better management with something Bitcoin implemented called chainActive, an instance of their new CChain class that encapulates and improves managing many chain tips to prevent forking.  We are also adopting Bitcoin's header first block sync to make the initial chain download much faster.

I plan to use the same wallet address space so once we transfer to the new Sling2 coin/code base, we run a python script to send those addresses their exact balance at the specified transition time.  No extra coins will be created and most all of the chain parameters will remain the same.  Users can import their private keys or maybe even use their old wallet file to load their balance and public wallet addresses.  PoW will be re-enabled because the masternode and mixing services rely on unpredictable (more random) hashes than PoS can generate.  I also want to get masternode involved in relaying sharded messages for buyer/seller commincations, so the issue with masternodes need to be addressed by re-activating PoW.  The rate of coin creation will increase with the Sling2 coin after the swap.  Those parameters are TBD and would like some feedback and ideas on block rewards.

After the new code is ready and while we are testing it, I will need to coordinate this swap with Bittrex, @MCDev, and other major Sling stake holders.

Yes, it is a blockchain based decentralized market but also has masternodes, PoS and will re-enable PoW after the swap, so there will be three tiers to protect the network and chain security,

After the new code is ready and while we are testing it, I will need to coordinate this swap with Bittrex, @MCDev, and other major Sling stake holders.

that sounds really good but this need's to get done quite soon, the BC is currently far away from beeing solid and working, if someone could provide a recent Snapshot of the "right" chain that would help to get some nodes running again.

thats the Result of an instable Network, no trades can happen and you get finally delisted from the Exchanges.
Bittrex will delist Sling on 27.06.2016, i tried to get a node up and running for weeks, without any success, looks
really like this one is to off track. What a pitty have still a lot of coins in my not working wallet.

If anyone can create a download for a working Blockchain, we might get coins to Bittrex and can create volume to keep that coin on BIttrex.

@MCDev is working on the Windows chain files so you can bootstrap.  I have contacted Bittrex and asked them to reconsider.  We will need volume to keep it on Bittrex and, of course, a plan to fix our forking/chain issues.

@prometheusx saved recent chain files for Windows:  download.coin-info.net/sling-windows-datafolder-2016-06-23.zip (http://download.coin-info.net/sling-windows-datafolder-2016-06-23.zip)

This is the reponse I received from Bittrex:

Your request (29552) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff.

To add additional comments, reply to this email.

More Bittrex requests to keep Sling might help and keeping the volume steady is critical to keeping Sling listed.  @MCDev and I are trying to keep the trading volume steady the best we can.

Ok, for everyone who has been asking for a solution to the sync issues while Cryptovote gets the core ready for testing ... and please don't take that as a commitment for the new wallet.... there is a ton to be done.  We never give you guys dates or commitments for a release because we want no hype.  You all know that Cryptovote and myself will keep Sling and BTX alive, have no fear, aside that you sell too soon  ???

Drum roll please.... please ..... PLEASE!!

Oh well... guess not.

I have the backside automation done, as the readme states, the files are updated at 10:00am and 10:00pm daily.  Getting them up to GitHub is a manual process while I work out some issues.  The first was getting past the size limit so I had to buy some data packets and use the LargeFormatStorage support.  Anyone automate that process using Git desktop on windows or Git on *nix with LFS, I'll listen to all pointers (hint).

Anyway, I hope this helps.

I see that.  Cryptovote has been talking to them to work something out.  Hopefully it will work out.  I'm going to see what I can do also.
In the meantime, I did a manual push of the block data to GitHub at approximately 7:30pm.
I think for the time being since I'm getting it to GitHub manually, I will do a single upload at 7:30pm - 8:30pm ET on a daily basis unless I miss it.

Let me know how often you guys think I should refresh it

Hi,

I delayed the removal of the SLING market. We'd like to see more sustained growth on it. If the volume isn't kept up on it, we will delist it with no more warnings.

Bill

Please help with the volume.  @McDev and I have spent quite a bit of BTC already to keep the volume high and the price above 2000 sat.  Bittrex requires at least 0.2 BTC per day volume and if we go below that, they will remove Sling.  I would like to keep it at an 0.3 BTC average per day at the very least.

So a DJ created and abandoned this project and another DJ took over to save it? All sounds very fishy, marketplace not ready for production, many have beaten you to the finish a long time ago. What is the point in investing into this with a skeleton revival crew, it's pretty sad.

I thought I wouldn't get a response.

Beware of revival coin scams, they are typically bag holders ready for a final dump. If you are a bagholder, dump at any sign of volume on exchanges or let the FOMO invade you.

Think about it: Will a skeleton crew who is trying to market this actually develop it further? No.

You've heard it here, from the Crypto Critic.

Regards and I'm sorry for all your losses.

@CryptoCritic, I understand and respect the skepticism but I promise we are actively developing Sling and not hyping this coin.  It was pumped recently to keep it listed on Bittrex.  If y'all wait, Sling's will have its core classes upgraded to Bitcoin (v0.12), upgraded to Dash's core for masternode, mixing services, budget voting, etc.. (v0.12.2), secure messaging via encrypted shards, and a production grade decentalizerd market with a nice, intuitive HTML5/AngularJS UI.

I had nothing to do with DGSlayer, the original code and was hoping that we work together.  I took over the coin because I have an interest in creating a working decentralized market to compete with eBay and Amazon.  I don't think a production grade decentralized marketplace exists;  Syscoin2 is closest but as a former eBay and Amazon seller, they have a long way to go.  I have a lot of respect for the Syscoin team but when I expressed my concerns about anonymity, the importance of masternodes (budget voting, mixing) and PoS they didn't find it important and wanted me to work (for pay) on the UI for usablity.  I respectfully declined mainly due to my loyalty and still work on Sling for free.

If you look into my work history, I do not give up.  It might take longer than stakeholders hope but I always deliver in the end.  This is my Linkedin account: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amir-abrams-b7256356. Does it look like the profile of a scammer?  Also, first to market doesn't mean anything.  Look at Google.  What happened to MySpace?

If folks want to sell their Sling, I will buy all or most at 2000 sat or below on an exchange and will put them in cold storage.

Hi @bitwhizz and welcome. The total supply is 1,295,298 Sling coins at 3,300 sats (Bittrex) or ~$28,000.  It was half that yesterday and usually is between $10,000 and $20,000 total market cap.

I don't expect the market cap to rise much until I have finished developing a stable code base (we are getting closer) that we can use to swap our chain.  Please let us know if you have questions.

Why are there no updates
We are still 3-4 months out until a 1:1 Sling swap to upgrade the core.

Is there another chat room for sling, or do we just wait for news on bitcointalk...

St9bad_alloc is an local chain error
There are only 2 ways to get it back working
1. delete everything in your %AppData%\Sling folder, and only keep your wallet.dat / peers.dat / sling.conf
   and perform a full sync from scratch

2. and much easyer way to test for an broken chain is, rename your wallet.dat to anything else , like wallet-test.dat
   start your client and if the error is still there then u can close the client / error and make a backup of your wallet-test.dat, rename it back to wallet.dat and start with #1

If you want to sync from scratch by yourself then u can have an bootstrap file to speed it up

http://download.coin-info.net/bootstrap.dat (http://download.coin-info.net/bootstrap.dat)

or a zip of the full Windows AppData folder

http://download.coin-info.net/sling-windows-datafolder-2016-10-06.zip (http://download.coin-info.net/sling-windows-datafolder-2016-10-06.zip)

My guess is yes, with the new daily volume on Trex following the announcement of delisting
due to too low volume ;-)

It should be at least 1 person believing in this coin and putting a lot of btc in the game now

if dev team can confirm their continuited engagement, it would be great

Not just believing.... It must be something bigger!
For not delisting it had to be 0.3btc, now the volume is 22btc and rising.
Go!

I am still here.  I am not sure where the volume came from but I do appreciate it.

The plan is still to create a decentralized eBay/Amazon with masternodes that vote on categories and regular expressions to keep the market legitimate.  A legitimate marketplace would allow us to host a clearnet website that connects to the Sling blockchain for the users that don't want to run a full node to buy and sell items.  The problem with centralized markets like eBay are the high fees (10% commission plus PayPal fees when I was a seller 2 years ago).

When the code is ready and tested, there will be a 1:1 swap.

I have to put in: rpcpassword rpcuser = y = ??
Where can I get the user name and password ??

You need to add a difficult rpcuser and rpcpassword.  You can use anything but it should be complex.  If your forget them, you can always look at the conf file.
You should be able to connect to one of my Sling nodes:
addnode = 104.236.135.117

In the other addnode lines, try without the :portnumber   (addnode = 73.142.206.88: 30137 -> addnode = 73.142.206.88)

WOW, that is horrible.  I have never seen that much network traffic but it doesn't surprise me.  I'm working on a new code base.  The current Sling code base has so many problems.

not a pump just used sling to help with fraud. Bought high sold low? Clearly the fraudster is the one selling high and buying low. Fraudster is probably multiple accounts on bittrex.

If you want to sync from scratch by yourself then u can have an bootstrap file to speed it up

http://download.coin-info.net/bootstrap.dat (http://download.coin-info.net/bootstrap.dat)

or a zip of the full Windows AppData folder

http://download.coin-info.net/sling-windows-datafolder-2016-10-06.zip (http://download.coin-info.net/sling-windows-datafolder-2016-10-06.zip)

maybe there is a newer version  of scratch and Windows AppData folder ?

Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The Sling wallet.dat was among those recovered.

We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. If you are a developer of this coin, or a longstanding community member, you can file a request for the wallet in this thread: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3789.0

Sorry, I haven't checked this thread in a while.

I still plan to work on Sling and reboot it with a new chain using code from PIVX and Syscoin.  I have been busy working on this contest: https://herox.com/PatientIDChallenge
We co-won the concept round last year and made the final four in the contest.  A prototype is due at the end of this month.

At the earliest, I will start the work in August.

It's simple. Just start to complete resync blockachain from network or bootstrap.dat.
Windows wallet can't do it. It's get this error on some blocks and stuck.
Mac OS wallet have no this error and completely resync.

Hi, the wallet in Github is corrupt. Please fix it, or link the newest version of the QT wallet in a reply.

I think if you fix the wallet binary, people would start to jump on this project.
  thanks!

Hi. I know that now blockchain have two forks.
The one with the most people and the other with connection to yobit wallet.
I know that old wallet is extremly bugged and if you lost connection to blockchain it's completely death because wallet can't complete sync blockchain from beginning.
I have made fast compiled new wallet for sling that can sync blockchain completely. It's contain many typos but work stable, and have stable staking.
I have uploaded new wallet with blockchain database which can connects to the yobit.
Download archive, unpack it and run "stake off.cmd" or "stake on.cmd".
Then import your private keys from old wallet.

//Note

Yobit wallet work very slow and is late for ~200 blocks now, because many orphans generated from other blockchain.
If we migrates to the yobit blockchain it will normalizes after some time.

secondly, can someone upload the newest blockchain please?   would love to run a node here and be active with the community

The Sling code base for a new chain is being worked on:  https://github.com/slingcoin/sling-market

I only have a few hours on the weekend for Sling but was able to get a lot done last weekend.  We are working with YoBit to correct their chain and freeze deposits/withdrawals.

I will try to provide a weekly update.

I spent a few hours last weekend working on the new code base.

I forked the code from PIVX and will be adding code from Syscoin (Alias, Certificates, Escrow, Marketplace), Dynamic (Argon2d algo & CPU miner), Dash (upgraded masternode code),  Bitcoin(upgraded core code) and Twister (DHT/Libtorrent based messaging) in addition to custom code.

Tasks Completed:
- PoW mining working
- Test Small scale PoW difficulty adjustment algorithm
- Update the block reward parameters

Tasks For This Week
- PoS testing and fixes
- Swap hash algorithm to Argon2d.
- Zero reward block range when new chain is bootstrap (to be fair

Draft Block Rewards and Timing:

- PoW target spacing: 7 minutes
- PoW payment: 7.35 Sling + fees
   - Miner: 4
   - MasterNode: 3.35

- PoS target spacing: 67 seconds
- PoS payment: 0.35 Sling + fees

- New Sling Increase Rate: 1,984 Sling/Day or 724,656 Sling/Year
- Current Sling Increase Rate = 1,925 Sling/Day or 703,106 Sling/Year

All of the project task items are managed in Waffle.io: https://waffle.io/slingcoin/sling-market (https://waffle.io/slingcoin/sling-market)  Current Project Waffle Board (Items in the right most swim lane are done)

Does not seem to be a very viable project, before the history of black, but in the end what will happen, who do not know, but also can be expected

Cryptovote,  i don't understand his comment either.  in any case i really appreciate you bringing back SLING!   this is great!    two questions please.  1)  have some SLING on yobits [and their wallet is online], will i be able to bring these sling over the new wallet? 2) can you upload the current block chain please?  [or is your work a whole new chain, and i should shut down my QT wallet - which as 60 weeks left to sync].   thanks again!! -T

hi all,   i'm running the v2.0.0.1-g32a928e Wallet.  does that sounds like the correct on for the network?

secondly, can someone upload the newest blockchain please?   would love to run a node here and be active with the community

You should be able to swap your old coins for new ones and we do not anyone with Sling assets to miss out.  It will be a 1:1 swap using these two methods:
1) send your coins to our swap exchange (not determined yet but we are trying to get Bittrex)
2) use a web tool to enter your old Sling wallet address private key and it will send coins to the address you select on the new chain.

You should backup your wallet and all your private keys.

This is not 100% but I want Sling to focus on used/refurbished/new electronic device sales.  That way she can be really good at that and not an okay general market.  It also eliminates the need for category voting to remove illegal/unethical item listings.  There will also be a web accessible version of the Sling Market for those that don't want to run a full node but I am focused on the new core wallet (daemon and Qt) right now.

Hi, Can you see your coins on the Sling Block Explorer:  http://blox.slingcoin.rocks/  .  If you can, you should be okay.  If not, you might be on the YoBit chain.

I opened a support ticket with YoBit to correct their chain a week ago but haven't received a response.  I will keep you posted.

I can see some of my coins on the explorer but just a very little amount its just 8% of my overall coins in my Windows wallet. Dont tell me that 92% of my coins will not be included in the swap? I've spend a good amount of BTC on it.

We do not want anyone to miss out on the swap.  YoBit hasn't responded to my support ticket about their forked Sling chain.  It has been a little over 1 week.  I think you should open a support case with YoBit to show that the coins you sent are not viewable on the Block Explorer: http://blox.slingcoin.rocks/.

I was able to get PoW and PoS working.  The PoS timing is too fast right now and the reward is slightly less than what it should be.  The PoW block spacing is okay (using Dash's Dark Gravity Wave) but is slow to adjust the difficulty.  After those issues are fixed, I will move to testing masternodes, InstantX (named FastSend in Sling), PrivateSend (named CoinMix is Sling), and voting/budget blocks.

This is the project board with my progress:  https://waffle.io/slingcoin/sling-market  (https://waffle.io/slingcoin/sling-market)

Folks are working on a recent boot strap file.  I will post the location when done.

Some requested a list of good Sling nodes on the correct chain and will post those soon.

Since the dev is ignoring my PM's I have to ask again here ...

Yobit's wallet is online again BUT their chain is still forked and is NOT connected to this chain: http://blox.slingcoin.rocks/

https://i.imgur.com/saRwSwT.png
https://i.imgur.com/LWZC3z8.png

Yobits chain has 781191 blocks while explorer shows 792763 blocks, so you see its STILL forked and not the same chain. Also all transactions from Yobit are not visible on the explorer (logical, not the same chain). I contacted their support to correct the chain and they sent me a "maintenance request" but Im not Sling's dev.

CryptoVote, please contact Yobit and explain the current situation so that we ALL (community, Sling holders) can be on the SAME chain before the swap to avoid bad situations.

Thanks!

CryptoVote,  please drop the Blockchain link here in the ANN.  it's important for the community to have all the same chain, otherwise there will be no stability in the network, when yobits opens up the new wallet.  thanks man.

May we get the recent news?

Is the issue with Yobit on the way to be solved, and the wallet on the accurate chain?

What about the swap? Do you have some time line to do it?

Anyway, good to see action with this coin!

ok, it seems that this is another dead coin and project.

No up to date wallet available from Bittrex.

At first I tried to send them to Poloniex... but got an error on Polo side...

No, just Yobit available, and not possible to send them here.

I have 10 days to move my coins..
