This december i think the price of the bitcoin will jump and reach $500 on this month.
because it's nearly christmas and i think some people sell/exchange his/her bitcoins to use it in christmas.
What do you think guys?

Maybe. I think it will jump to 500 again soon, but I am not so sure to say it will jump before christmas. Could be, due to the effect you mention, but it might well be that people lose interest for a while as they celebrate holidays.

Any of both can happen IMO.

I don't think the price will go past $400 this month. if anything it might drop because of the reason you just stated. I'll be happy if I'm wrong though.

I have the same opinion and for the same reason.
500 dollar is perhaps a little bit too high, but i see it going above the 400.

It is your hunch alone or there is presumptive evidence that it is indeed possible? It is true that Christmas season is usually optimistic and good for markets, but as you mention people might sell/exchange bitcoin to buy something for FIAT.

Yep, 500$ is a bit high, i think It will end up near 400$ this month, 350$ seems fair for me for the moment, don't want to lose my money if it gets lower.

If a lot of people sell their bitcoin in the same time that will not help the price to go up.
 That will cause more supply which means low prices, as supply and demand are the two factors which control the price

As far as I'm aware when people create sell pressure selling their coins for Christmas that does not make a price rise having more sell than buy that crashes the price as I will expect to happen. The only way it will jump back is some big news or your scenario but a mega whale selling for a massive Christmas and pumping before he does. 

I believe that we will almost stay where we are at the moment or go down a bit (20-30 dollars).
So I can not see why $500 should happen this month. There will be no rally for that imo.
But Q1 next year definitely possible to achieve that. And to wait a few more weeks or months shouldn't be that problem right?
I mean we almost suffered for 2 years.Compared to that a few more weeks should be easy to take. :)

it might jump high in december in my opinion because of a wide variety of reasons first of all people might start buying btc as they want to buy gifts for bitcoins also besides that it is possible that there will be another pump like that previous one when the bitcoin price was boosted to 400 dollars each

600$+ til halvening

i dont think that the price will get so high in just one month as there was an increase a few weeks ago though the price is unpredictable so i will just hope that you are right and that we will reach the new heights in the last month of this year

But it fell from $1100 to $150. That's a hell of a lot more than losing 50% of its value. I'm not saying it won't go up, I'm only saying that "expert" hasn't got his facts straight. If he means it never seems to lose more than 50% of its value in the space of a month then he's still wrong. In the space of a week in 2013 between April 9 and April 16 it fell from $230 to $68.

I agree with OP, we could see $500 or close to that around this Christmas. If we had little pump for Black Friday, for Christmas it could be way bigger. Halving is close, everyone expect price rise so not every merchant will dump and ppl are pretty bullish recently. If few bigger investors and whales follow that logic, 500 is peace of cake.

I prefer steady price increases rather than unsustainable epic pumps because there's always a crazy sell off then.

Well christmas is still few weeks away, there could be a chance for the price to stabilize around that price
But im positive that the price will rise during Christmas, i don't know about the stabilization of the price though :(

Yes, that is very true. If any prices go up suddenly than it won't survive at that high price for long time. Prices should move slow and study is much better for bitcoins high prices to stay at high. For 50 to 100 dollar movement prices should stabilize before taking off again. I think by next year end prices may be around 600 range if no other bad news comes out against bitcoin. Now it is time for accumulation than selling bitcoins.

If you remember 2013 nov.25 to dec.13 until january the price of the bitcoins rise fast like sky rocket around $600-$900.
I think it will happen again like before And i hope it will happen soon.. just trust and be patience.

But many people are expecting a good price on eyeing Christmas. The recent surge and sustaining around $360 must be good sign. I too believe price may roar again to reach above $400 levels for the celebrations of Christmas and new year.

This is very possible IMO, if the price direction keeps like it is currently 500 is not very difficult at all, but BTC price direction is very unpredictable and it can move at any direction with no specific reason.

Yup dude. People will need money to celebrate the christmas Sure they sell most of bitcoins as I guess. Then Price level will raise for some remarkable value equal to fiat currency rate. Let and hope for magic will happen again.

$500 is a little too much to hope for at the moment. We should try hoping for $400 first this year.

Don't think it's that likely to happen within this month. I do however think we will go over $400 again this month. People who haven't bought yet, they must do it now, before it's over $400.

Christmas is comming closer, I only don't think that many people will sell their coins in order to create them a bit extra free fiat for buying gifts and such for the holidays, as many of them already have enough cash, so they are not in need of converting BTC into fiat. People also said that once Bitcoin black friday is over, a huge dump will follow. So far nothing has happened one week later. 

Following your reasoning cannot be a jump but a decrease. Normally people make gifts for the Christmas but the kind of gifts that are made for this kind of celebration (as it is even for the most of the other ones) cannot be bought with bitcoin but with normal fiat money. So who want to buy something and prefer to use its bitcoins for this gift and not its normal money, first will try to find something to buy with bitcoin and I doubt that will be able to find something desired and special in some store which accept bitcoin. Probably will find it in other stores that will not accept (or even know) it. So will have two choices: to sell its bitcoins in order to have fiat money and buy the wanted gift or to continue its journey until will find some store which satisfy both its desires. To use bitcoin and to find the wanted gift. I think that the second choice it is hard to be verified in mass. So most of bitcoiners will sell their bitcoins. In this way the supply of bitcoin in the market will be increased and the price will be lowered.  ;)

Yes I'm also expecting those magical moments of relatively high bitcoin prices to celebrate this new year. Last year this kind of surge happened with bitcoin prices. So, I believe there are lot of possibilities for bitcoin prices to go high near December mid weeks.

On the one hand, most people need FIAT to pay for Christmas.  On the other, any self respecting pro-Bitcoin user would lose that problem of "what do you buy for someone for Christmas at the last minute?" and send them some mBTC as an investment, even if it's just a few dollars.  You could solve your issue of buying presents and promote the concept at the same time (6 levels of separation and all that).  My experience is that the way for people to get interested immediately, is give them some for free, then they start reading about it and get enthusiastic.  Just talking about it doesn't seem to do anything unless you're preaching to the converted.

Earlier in the year I took part in a poll on this forum that was asking "what do you think the price will be at year end?".  I answered $400-500.  I'm still of the same opinion.

Indeed, that's very likely we can see over $400 before Christmas. In case something bad happens keep your coins in a safe place and don't go %100 Bitcoin, diversify your investments and minimize your risk. I think holding %80 Bitcoin and %20 fiat is a good strategy right now.

Guys in december well be like november is just go to increase and decrease again.
I just know that begin of the year 2016 bitcoin price well just be around 390 dollars.

we broke 400 so next target must be 450 cuz 500 might be hard to achieve in this 20 days

i really think we will start 2016 with a price higher than $400. there is simply too much demand at this point. if for whatever reason the demand falls back significantly this year, then we might go to $350 levels again. but i think that won't happen. just look at the next difficulty increase.... it says enough.

Since we are not the same beliefs and opinion im still go with my beliefs and it will happen.
Since the price is gradually increasing its posible to increase above $500.
i cannot force you to stay holding your bitcoin but its just my speculation..
However there's no risk to stay holding your bitcoin because you can sell it in other year or month's.

i dont think so my personal opinion is that we can hit i maybe maintain 450 this month and perhaps in January we will hit 500 for sure

You should not forget that bitcoin price was about one-third lowe just a month ago, so it's going to be interesting to see will we
even have enough support to maintain current price, let alone break the 500 mark.
Sometimes it's better to build up support before leaping too far, because people tend to more like the stability than the jumpy thing we have now.

We are not the same feelings but for me it will reach $500 before christmas ends.

Bitcoin hasn't jumped to $500 this month just yet. Bitcoin is cutting it really close with the last few days that are left of 2015.
I'm keeping my hopes up for bitcoin to reach this still before the year ends. If it doesn't, ending the year on a stable $400 is not so bad.

It's almost Christmas now, and there's only a week left of 2015 after that. Most of us will be having too much fun at Christmas parties to pay any attention to Bitcoin until 2016. Unless the Chinese are trading while we are partying the price will probably be stable until the new year. I don't think it will jump to $500 this week.

Yes it was bit surprising when the price got slumped just before the Christmas but again pumped up in two days and I think January will be an interesting month for Bitcoin users because things could go either ways next month.

Now for sometime its not going to rise its already have some good jump right now its going to stay here or just 10$ up or down but we can expect some good rise in end of February or March

the price did not succeed in reaching 500 dollar this month until now.
but the price really jumped as at the beginning of December it was in 300:400 level and now we are heading to 500 $ level by the next few week i think

I think we will see a bull run start in January next year. That will be the month where we will say goodbye to the $400 level. My guess is that we will sit at $500 to $525 in the first week of January. And who knows, we can even touch $600 after that at the end of January.

The price is not moved much for the last four days. I have been watching it since it reached $472-ish then it fell to $440 an has risen  $457 an is jumping around the $450 mark an now is at $455 an holding there. I can see it moving to $500 by the end of the year due to boxing day sales. But by how much would depend if people use bitcoins to buy their deals on that day or not.

I can say bitcoin will be raise against fiat currencies and price will go up very soon. According to many predictions Bitcoins doesn’t reached yet Its worthy value. It just scratch the bottom only. Satoshi also predict As bitcoin will go upto 10000$. Wait and save bitcoins for log term goal.

Yes it has to go up but there are some people who are confusing others by saying Bitcoin will go down to sub $50 and sometimes saying it will go up to $4000 in a month time but now we all have noticed Bitcoin got a stability range $400 - $450. It's better to go for long term

I would rather have it stable at 450 range then degrading at a rapid level, that puts fear into the market and most people start to sell and I don't it doing the price any good when that starts happening.

i think stabilising around $460 is a more realistic goal considering there's only 5 days left in the month.

This Christmas we didn’t see that much pump in price value of bitcoins. As per prediction We can see some change In bitcoin price I Think due to adoption of many companies. If companies adapt and utilize their business through bitcoin means Then automatically price move in rocket speed.

Nah. If that would be the case, then they would have sold before Christmas. This dump was too serious to be considered 'selling due to the holiday spendings'. At first it could be a whale, or a group trying to cause panic, and after that people indeed were selling in panic and causing the price to go down this hard. The weak hands that sold, will buy back at higher levels.

yes a little stable in my opinion. after the long vacation. prices will climb. bitcoin market share will heat up again, rising demand and prices will Pump.

Next jump will be the next year. Actually price is around 380 and 430$, not more. Now we have reached a support of 410$, so, it is strongly hard that price will drop again, but we will see what will happen. With $700 after the halving hype I would be fine with it.
600 would be a bit to low in my opinion.
What I'm really hoping for is that we can break the old ATH, even if it would be just for a short period of time.
But this would show that there is more potential.Sure we all know that way higher prices are possible, but I think we need really need to see that on our screens.This would gain a lot of attention and create some nice momentum for future growth of the whole industry.

I prefer a slow growth. If you see the price go up like 25% in 2 days, then I also know that the chance of seeing the price fall back HARD, is very high. Manipulation depends on how deep your pockets are. If you have at least a few thousand BTC, and around $1M to play with, then you can heavily manipulate an exchange as BTC-E. Even Bitstamp, but not as much as BTC-E.

I do agree that a lot of people will be selling their Bitcoin for Christmas. But I don't understand how this will make the price of Bitcoin rise. I think the next big rise for Bitcoin will be when halving hits. Before that, the price will be stable at around $450.

it's not christmas anymore. so why should people sell now? there is no reason to see a huge sell off these days. everything that forces the price to go lower without reason is purely manipulation.

I think the price is moving forward (but not sure), I think BTC price rise this time is similar to the previous year when it reached $1000 but you can never tell.

I think before halving itself so many adaption from the companies we can see. Due to halving mining will be in demand. Price growth will be high which we weren't saw before. Most comparatively 500$ to 700$

The price rise could start several months before the halving, and last several months after the halving.

TBH the price jump is already done. 220 to 420 dollar.
This moment we've hopefully reached a new low in the 400 doller corner.

The next rally or decline will happen in a few weeks probably.

But I don't have any doubt only price rally in next a few weeks but within this January.
We're having halving in few months so there is no possibilities of price decline other than price daily fluctuations.

I feel personally, I am interested in seeing the growth of Bitcoin Communities to see what can be accomplished. There is more to learn and what a lot of people have learned already is that you have to be careful when dealing with the currency. As the currency becomes for secure not only will the price rise but the usefulness and interested parties will skyrocket. People are expecting It will happen after Halving. So wait for the good rate.

How i see it whenever the price go down, it eventually goes up again. So there is no reason to be scared.

The price has dropped from $470 to $360 in the last month. I think it is affected by several bad news. It might recover in the future.

The current price is not very low.... If it was very low, then we wouldn't see the price stay long below $400 like now. People at this point don't know what to do or think. What a dream lol. Even the halving itself wouldn't assure profits for everyone though the chances are pretty high. We may not see four digits, but significant increases might happen.

that there is some manipulation going on the chinese exchanges, atleast i think it's so.

There are, unfortunately, many day-dreamers in this forum. Halving alone won't get the price beyond $500-600. There is a need for some fundamental developments, if we want to get a longer and stable rise. Otherwise, all what we can get is short 2-3 weeks speculation pump and a steep dump shortly after. Rinse and repeat.

I am still waiting for the price to test the $350 price level this week. I have my fiat ready to buy as soon as the price comes below $355. If it happens to go below $350 then we may see some people panic sell.

my guess is that when we are a few weeks away from the block halving that we will see the high peak of the block halving pump. after the block halving the price will come down significantly because a lot people will be securing their profits.

The answer to the OP question is yes. Now, how far we go depends on what kind of arguments we have to support the rally. If it is only halving, we won't go far. $500-600 is the upper limit to me.
If we have something fundamentally positive extra on top of that, then we may think of more.

The price is increasing right now and i think the market still the same but the price is increase. There reason of the price increasing and i think sooner or later the price will be down again. We alway know that because some of them they sell their bitcoins to gain a profit even a little bit of coins..
If 1061 goes down i think we should keep our bitcoin because this is the sign of the price increase if the 1061 is down the price of the bitcoin must be rise..

I think not yet, not until we reach the critical 2 months before the halving (which I think would be the start of whales fueling up the price and start to test the waters before the real pump.) The halving brings hype but I think it wouldn't really affect the price naturally.

why? so that the people who already bought can offload on them? that doesn't work like that. You have to have the arguments to create a mania-buying phase and attract new money. What there is on table apart from halving? At the moment, not much. Blocksize talks, on and on, nothing concluded yet. There were not really many fundamental developemnts that would help spread bitcoin adoption as of recently. Therefore, it is purely speculative game, among old players, with little new money. And as such we can't go far, unless the fundamentals change.

It started moving upwards again. The buy order I put at $390 seemed to be working fine for me again. Does anybody here know what triggers this price increase? Sam condition now, Price is getting due to halving to happen. So It will increase up to 450$. and then price will be stesdy for some long.

500$ looks bard to get achieved but if the same price increase continues, without any doubt by the end of this month it will cross the barrier of $500 which makes users joyful as its happening before halving.

it's basically pointless to expect the price to only go up, because the reality turns out it doesn't. that's why this market is a more than interesting place for traders. it allows us to buy as the price has gone low enough, and sell when the price has been peaking. without this volatility bitcoin would be a whole lot less interesting for traders. that's a fact.
