Block 1-75 are PoW blocks, and after that PoW is ended. The 1 million SLS was premined and the rest of the blocks had a reward of zero and were only there to allow for the separation of the 1 million SLS in smaller outputs that are optimized to run the network by PoS only. As I am typing this, nothing has been staked yet, but Kushedout has confirmed that he holds all of the coins ready to be staked. It would be extremely helpful to everyone involved if we all went to both Bittrex (https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202583854-Submitting-a-Coin-to-Bittrex-Updated-11-16-15) and Poloniex (https://poloniex.com/coinRequest) to fill out their coin request forms. It takes a village, right? I know there are a few other smaller exchanges that have agreed to add SLS, and apologies to those exchanges, but my SLS will not be touching their wallets. An exchange with a solid foundation, background, & team like Poloniex or Bittrex is needed and I encourage everyone to hold their SLS in their wallets until we see an exchange of that nature. Dev, what are your requirements as far as integrating your project with another? I have yet to read the OP, but based on your "what is salus" post above, I find the idea intriguing to say the least... and I've got a ton of ideas myself that may fall right in line with yours. Not to mention, I'm part of a core team of a coin that has a great foundation, and ability to be a whole lot more than it is now, which is a whole lot more already than most others. (going to be really hard to guess the coin I'm sure...) So, if you're still, and/or constantly looking for other avenues to frolic down, maybe some time in the future we can collaborate in one and/or multiple ways on one and/or multiple subjects about one (you get the idea, but that is far too much fun...xD) So... Dazzle me, or I suppose, continue to do so, and I'll hopefully hear from you at some point in the future. Or you can enable upnp through, Settings, Options, Network (tab), Map Port through upnp. Only after the distribution did I realize the big impact it would have. In essence the dev "sold" his alt bags through a calculation similar to calculating market cap it seems not taking into account real buy orders in the market. Needless to say I was upset about it that the dev got 600k of the 1m coins.
After a while though I realized that it could actually be a positive thing. Lets assume for a moment that the dev has good intentions and will not dump the 600k. Lets further assume that the dev does own the alts listed on the front page and will not dump those either. Then it effectively means that there are 400k SLS in circulation. Add to this the future cash inflows from the alt bags staking earnings and the coin has the potential of trading 100-300k. The block explorer is quite nice and it is easy to watch the top account and the public can quickly blow the whistle if the top account moves significantly. Unless of course that there is something else that I don't understand yet of the inner workings that is not clear on the OP. I noticed you're using it as a trade coin for SALUS, why not mine it and also use its Asset Exchange to sell shares in a Staking farm or something, or... the possibilities are endless. Not on a massive scale, but data. However, part of what makes BURST so decentralized, is the fact that you CANT use the data... Think if data centers could mine as well as store data there, that would lead to much more centralized nature. I for one, like the fact that you've gotta dedicate your hard drive space, makes the coin more interesting as only people who are very interested in the technology and what the coin is capable of, will be the ones generally mining, and/or people who've just got extra space they'd like to make use of in some way, and come to BURST to do that. All this being said, not trying to hijack the thread by any means, just wondering if you'd be interested in adding some income to SALUS via various BURST based methods. I can dedicate some mining power to something SALUS related in exchange for making an asset based on it, and we can work together in different ways to generate income for both platforms, and get people paying attention from either community, to each other's. To give yet another plus to BURST's mining style, I would like to say that the entire time that I've been mining BURST, the drives that are being used to mine it, have neither had a problem, nor showed signs of the potential to, at all. The drives aren't anything fancy, and in fact, most are the lowest priced seagates I could find at the time. Not only that, but they aren't plotted in a manner that would be considered optimal by the standards in place now, nor have I had to replot them at all for any reason since the very beginning. This shows what we've known from the beginning, that the mining style is very easy on the hardware, and extremely sustainable. Decentralization is higher due to the fact that a lot of the miners mine on extra space they've already got, and big boys can't get in for any reason other than mining the coin, leaving the coin's market unladen with huge companies coming in and taking over. The last plus I'll mention, as I could go on all day about every single aspect of BURST, is the fact that since the mining power is hard drive space, the 'miners' are simply normal systems, can be even low range 32 bit machines, as low as raspberry pi, and the resale value of the 'mining equipment' is very good, considering hard drives hold value extremely well compared to many other parts of a computer, let alone ASIC miners...(we all know how fast those bricks fall in price. No surprise as they only have one use...) So yea, there's a little speech on the benefits of just a very small few of the benefits that the coin has to offer. There is a LOT more, and many new and awesome projects, and assets being formed all the time. Important: 1) Always backup your wallet.dat first before you do anything 2) The wallets were built on Raspberry Pi2 (ARM7) running Raspbian Jessie (v8) and the instructions and scripts assume you are running as user "pi". It is a pre-requisite to have Jessie installed on your Pi micro-SD card. You can find instructions of how to do this on https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/ by either installing n00bs and selecting your OS or by downloading the image of the OS. 3) Installation directory where the binaries are installed is ~/opt/salus or /home/pi/opt/salus 4) To run the wallets go to the directory with the wallets and run the wallet file - salusd for the headless wallet at the command line or click on the SaluS icon on the desktop or run the salus-qt wallet. 5) An Internet connection is required for the installation 6) A bootstrap.dat is available to fast track the blockchain sync and goes in the ~/.salus folder 7) The bootstrap.dat also works for Windows wallets. Windows users just have to copy the bootstrap.dat file into their c\users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\salus folder and run the Win client again 8.) You need at least an 8GB memory card for the wallet. 9) The installation itself takes about 30-45min on an out-of-the-box Pi. 10) You cannot just download the dynamic wallets, you have to run the script to get the dependencies as well else it will not run. 11) The installation script enables the ufw firewall by default, but does not force any special rules. If you want to enable it, uncomment the ufw lines in the script and add the ports you want open and run it again or enable it manually by running the ufw commands as in the script with the correct port numbers from the command line. 12) Always verify the checksums when you download files to make sure it was downloaded ok. To verify the checksums on your Pi, go to the ~/opt/salus folder and execute sha256sum <filename> and md5sum <filename> and compare the values with the values in the checksums.txt file. Do the same for the bootstrap.dat Instructions to use the headless command line daemon wallet: 1) The installation script creates an salus.conf file with the startup settings in it. To give yet another plus to BURST's mining style, I would like to say that the entire time that I've been mining BURST, the drives that are being used to mine it, have neither had a problem, nor showed signs of the potential to, at all. The drives aren't anything fancy, and in fact, most are the lowest priced seagates I could find at the time. Not only that, but they aren't plotted in a manner that would be considered optimal by the standards in place now, nor have I had to replot them at all for any reason since the very beginning. This shows what we've known from the beginning, that the mining style is very easy on the hardware, and extremely sustainable. Decentralization is higher due to the fact that a lot of the miners mine on extra space they've already got, and big boys can't get in for any reason other than mining the coin, leaving the coin's market unladen with huge companies coming in and taking over. The last plus I'll mention, as I could go on all day about every single aspect of BURST, is the fact that since the mining power is hard drive space, the 'miners' are simply normal systems, can be even low range 32 bit machines, as low as raspberry pi, and the resale value of the 'mining equipment' is very good, considering hard drives hold value extremely well compared to many other parts of a computer, let alone ASIC miners...(we all know how fast those bricks fall in price. No surprise as they only have one use...) So yea, there's a little speech on the benefits of just a very small few of the benefits that the coin has to offer. There is a LOT more, and many new and awesome projects, and assets being formed all the time. The level of interaction by the Aurovine team and Ken specifically is rarely seen in crypto. 3) So as some of you know, SaluS is 2nd on the rich list, (not counting the Aurovine funds and the official ADC Staking Wallet) holding 21M+ ADC coins which are staking nicely, last I checked it was somewhere ~25,000 a day. However, there are no plans to sell any of the stakes at the moment either since current price seems to be undervalued. So, we'll let that compound for now. This month we received our first payout of 0.06BTC and 130K+ ADC. BTC was sent direct to SaluS fund address. Very happy with this venture and will add additional 1M ADC since there is a cap of 100M and are already at 65M since it was recently launched. ADC is also one of the coins that SaluS offers Cloud Staking service for. (see details within the OP). 5) All around solid coin, backed by solid platform and a solid team, with a clear vision. I found reading the 1st few pages of this thread tremendously helpful. From what I've gathered in the thread so far, it seems like there is a good deal of genuine interest in SaluS in the community, as well as trust and respect for the devs... I just heard about it for the 1st time yesterday, and it has caught my interest, but it seems a good deal of work and thought has gone into this to me, I wouldn't discount it right off the bat. This, combined with the market charts which show great stability generally since it began, with a step-up here and there from large buys. Who knows, could be many more large step-ups to come. There's only 1 million of them, who knows. I'm looking forward to hearing about this "Holy Grail" concept, when/if that time comes. Maybe this or something similar in development is causing the rises in price? I will read through the rest of the thread, but in case someone answers before I find an answer, could someone briefly explain the staking parameters ie what is the most cost-effective way to distribute SaluS across my wallet addresses to earn the most PoS rewards, or can it all just be in one "pile"? For those who are beginners and those who are not, please enjoy. I am currently syncing with 6 connections. As long as you have a pi2 OR pi3 with Jessie V8.0, updated nodes and blockchain file, wallet runs fine and should be about 26 months out of sync with around 4-10 peer connections. Confirmed that SaluS wallet is working with this configuration and not on any other rasbian images.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Should take you about 30 - 45 minutes to complete. Instructions for Salus wallet installation on Raspi 1. Download and burn latest official release of Jessie V8.0 (http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/images/raspbian-2017-07-05/2017-07-05-raspbian-jessie.zip) onto pi2 or pi3. I thought I had to run it on pi2, as that is what the wallet was compiled on originally. I actually got Jessie installed on a 32Gb SD card, inserted SD card into pi3, did a resize2fs and grabbed all 32Gb for storage use and moved on - successfully. Mods, please let me know if you would like modified or even removed from thread. Just trying to help community grow ;D 2. Download and execute (from Pi at runtime) this .sh file (https://bitbucket.org/jc12345/salus/downloads/salus_installation_pi.sh) which installs Salus wallet (Requires Internet connection) 3. Add these nodes (http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/SLS/nodes.php) to the bottom of the .config file in /opt/salus for connections, otherwise you will get none 4.
