All those coins have very good mixing power , but why they don't have more attention in darknet world? Also l meen why there is LTC stronger (and have much more support) then those coins with greater teach?

Since Mixers got mentioned to mix Bitcoins, does anywhere some LTC Mixing service exist?
That could add 1 answer onto the strength and support for LTC somewhere in the backgrounds.

To my knowledge: No, LTC Mixers don't exist. And the second answer is yes indeed for BTC there are mixing services, so in some way BTC can be declared beeing an "anon coin" which in effect renders all the others mentioned here redundant, obsolete and unrequired.

Why BTC is best of all? Just because is better adapted?

Have you been able to locate a LTC Mixer? From a technical stance should be the same to implement, any BTC Mixer service could add LTC. The wallets are somewhat compatible regarding API interfaces.

Since Scrypt ASICS are out there, GPU rigs could take a look at that coin, yes. Mining this altcoin to expand the rig's lifetime somewhat.

Bitcoin was adopted because lot of people believed transactions are not
traceable, so first motive was anon trading em l wrong?
So future belongs to those who deliver best anonymous transactions and if possible decentralized markets..

You think BTC got big because it was perceived to be Anon ?

I think it got big because it was / is a new concept with a lot of perks -combined-
One of them may* have been the "perception" it was a "anon".
But i find it hard to believe that was a major driving force.

I was around and watched it unfold from worthless to over a grand so i know.
untraceable transactions seemed to have no bearing on any of it.

The majority couldn't care less about ANON bullshit and many like myself think..
it's highly detrimental for adoption.

What i did see is many cases where a guy got robbed in Crypto over the years with Bitcoin
and they wanted to track down the thief.. and thanks to traceability a lot of users got their money back.
What i didn't see was guys running around wearing hoodies that say "Bitcoin=Untraceable" on them like Monero idiots DO !

Anon was called out LONG ago in the Alt scene for what it is.. a stupid GIMMICK !

Most of us had said this long and hard for years now.. nothing has changed.
Aside from some users leaving and new idiots showing up.. thinking they can replay the anon gimmick game.

So nub's ..been there and done that and got the hoodie ::)

There you have it my opinion.. the correct one.. what more do you all want ?

Just a couple of thoughts on anonymity online. What you are trying to do with various anonymity features is to prevent anyone from being able to identify you by obtaining your real IP address and to prevent anyone from finding out who sent what to who. Cryptos like Dash and Monero and others have proposed to offer anonymity in some way or another but has never been tested against the US NSA or FBI properly.

Although the Bitcoin block-chain is public, nobody watching the block-chain transactions will be able to see who is sending Bitcoin to who and most importantly WHY the Bitcoins are being sent? Under normal circumstances, this information is only available if the two parties making the transaction make it public. Therefore Bitcoin and others are ‘anonymous enough’ for real world usage.

However, I think that you should always assume that a persistent, knowledgeable and motivated attacker will be able to associate your IP address with your crypto transactions. Sophisticated statistical analysis would also probably be able to resolve transactions on so-called anonymous networks.
Anonymity is relative. You should therefore assume that if a state power put all their resources into tracing you they would be able to do so, even if you use the anonymity features of some crypto-currencies. You may remember that many so called 'dark web' sites on the Tor network were traced recently and that there are numerous examples of very high level hacking and breaking of various encryption protocols probably by a state power.

Also, and this is important, you should assume that a state power will NOT reveal the extent of their available technology and will NOT reveal what they can and can't do with regards to encryption etc.. If they are able to break encryption they will NOT tell you.

So, the questions you will have to ask yourself with regards to anonymity are; are my activities of such a nature that they will attract the attention of a state power (motivated attacker) and are my activities of such a nature that would prompt a state power (motivated attacker) to invest significant resources to track me down?

If you are involved in 'normal' activities however you will be ‘anonymous enough’ with Bitcoin. I believe that the anonymity features in other crypto-currencies are hyped up as a selling point and the vast majority of people do not need it because they are of no interest to a ‘sophisticated motivated attacker’ or a well-funded state power.

This is why criminals still use Bitcoins and this is why Bitcoin still rules on Tor, it's anonymous enough...

Best of that idea is DECENTRALIZATION, and ANONYMITY..

I would like to Re-Open the Bounty for cracking the Unbreakable Code along with the help from NavajoCoin Community. This bounty will be available to any person that can proove a Navajocoin Anonymous transaction can be linked from one receipent Navajocoin wallet to a different Navajocoin wallet at a different location and then verified by the  Navajocoin Development Team.

I would like to start off with 30,000 Navajocoin . The higher the Bounty the more it shows how strongly the Navajocoin Community believes in the Anomity of the Unbreakable Code . I would also encourage the Navajocoin Development Team to contribute to the Bounty as it will give it strength and shows how strongly the Team is aware of the Anonymous capabilities , strength and power of The Unbreakable Code.

Please advise the amount you would like to contribute to the Bounty . You do not need to transfer funds - just a pledge is sufficient and I ll add you to the Navajocoin Bounty List and post on this forum. I will monitor the forum.

We are aiming for a  large Bounty that will attract the attention from the Global Crypto Community.

Zeuner didn't do the review because he wanted more documentation and couldn't/didn't want to review the raw code as is.  That is my understanding of how things transpired.  I am not to bothered by that because paying someone to review your code could be seen as paying to get a favorable review.  Not long after a bug bounty program started inviting anyone that is inclined to find any faults and get payed in cash, here it is here: http://shadowproject.io/bug-bounties

Why LTC?

yeah, why buying some simple clone of bitcoin ? :/

The comparison is simple, the only two in that list that have real anonymous features are Monero and ShadowCash. (aka ring signatures)

If you need volume, I would say that at the moment, buy Monero. Also, it's a POW coin (constant volume because of miners dumping), and CryptoNote (so don't expect something like Bitcoin).

You can also choose ShadowCash. You can use it as a classic coin or an anon token.

The best part of it atm is the wallet, which has one of the best UI in crypto-world, and I think the UI v2 which will be released soon will make it the best without doubt.

On the development side, Monero is maybe more active than Shadow Project, but most of the development is just to fill the gap of functionalities compared to Bitcoin. (when Shadow has already those functionalities, as it's a fork of Bitcoin.)

Shadow development is atm on a decentralized market. (Alpha is coming but it takes more time, as their is less development ressources)

For Shadow, at the moment it's more about investing, the volume is too low for doing mixing or other things.

Thanks again for your support.

I don't have any coin names to advise people to get into.
I have been saying for a looong time what i see that is popular* looks like shit to me.
my 2 cents..

If you asked me log ago i would have different opinions maybe though or in the future.

I have always kept an eye on the altcoin section because you never know when a game changer will come out.
My point was clear but i will rehash it ;)
Most of you here are CLEARLY showing up to get profit.
You don't give a shit about crypto and it shows. (you can say what your want but your ACTIONS speak loudly)

I chose JackpotCoin to support for while way back because it was the most interesting i felt
for WHAT WAS AVAILABLE.. CONTEXT !
It was unique in many ways compared to the barrage of scrypt clone being posted with ASICS all over them.
Scrypt CLONE coins were being pumped out like CRAZY !
It was supported and it as fun and had services etc like Gambling sites.

Things change.. i still have my Jackpot Coins that were delisted on all exchanges and the dev gave up.
So what do i recommend ?
BITCOIN ahhahaha
Be damn careful with Alt-Coins
I would advise avoiding Anonymous Coins too.. they are bad news !

Doge is a cancer.

Maybe check out some old coins like Litecoin or some of SunnyKing's coins like PPC or maybe Prime Coin
or hell maybe GRC / Grid Coin ..BUT stay away from most "Green" coins they are a scam.

I'd rather light my money on fire before investing in doge shit like ETH, Ripple, StartCoin, Monero etc etc..

PS:
Wait for the StartCoin media blitz coming eventually guys LOL
It's coming..

What a hell has happened to XC? Abandoned ?

Of course, it was a scamcoin

Cool list. I think it could be perfect, if we had a topic to compare features and how they are used in alt-coins

Cool list. I think it could be perfect, if we had a topic to compare features and how they are used in alt-coins

Yes that is a great suggestion and maybe to put each one to the test?

Yes cross testing and reviewing will be something extra!
But that needs someone with more experience..
So if anyone has idea or want to take lead ?

I'm currently working on a semi-automated characterisation of coin features.
Cool list. I think it could be perfect, if we had a topic to compare features and how they are used in alt-coins

Something like this?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=675821.msg13484427#msg13484427

(and the three following posts)

Here's the current feature set, including the “anon” features, rendered in N3. The next step is to hack up some code to inspect and report on repository content and ultimately derive a feature set from the data, mostly satisfying BitcoinNational's requirement.

DOACC (https://github.com/DOACC) is an altcoin catalogue expressed in RDF and the features described above can be combined with the DOACC altcoin metadata and is amenable to SPARQL querying so people can generate their own permutations of lists.

For each altcoin, DOACC attempts to record:

  • name - the name of the coin
  • ticker - the stock ticker
  • protocol - the network protocol
  • protectionscheme - how the chain is protected
  • incept - YYYY-MM of announcement
  • date_founded - the date that the coin was announced
  • block_time - the block time in seconds
  • powscheme - the hashing scheme
  • block_reward - the block reward
  • reward_modifier - the reward halving/modification scheme
  • premine - the amount of any premine
  • total_coins - the total number of coins
  • retarget_time - the block target time
  • website - the coin’s web site
  • source - the location of the source code
  • posscheme - the type of PoS scheme used
  • confirmations - the number of confirmations recommended
  • maturation - the maturation time of newly-minted blocks
  • distributionscheme - the scheme by which the coin was distributed

But the older data is often much more sparse.

I have an experimental version of the graph that cross-references each coinmarketcap.com-listed coin with the corresponding marketcap, volume, price etc in the coinmarketcap.com listings so I can also use those values as filters.

Cheers

Graham

Bitcoin.

I'm currently working on a semi-automated characterisation of coin features. As “anon” is programmatically challenging and the characterisation is significant in the domain, a bit of hand-stitching is tolerable. Here's what I have thus far ...

name_symbol_as_bctlink, blockchain_state, incept_YYYY-M, “anon”_features.

That is a very nice list and I (and everybody) are appreciating your work Graham, but did you ever considered to add another row reflecting the individual coin's value? Or lack of, valuelessness actually, all of them are worthless from value or marketcap. Some even got labelled "scamcoin" occasionally, just pump and dump bags remaining.

Doesn't the fact feel intrigueing that this "not anonymous" Bitcoin totally rules the scene? Always has been good enough for every possible kind of use case? Almost all coins listed above are not even accepted on distinctive tradesites?

For each altcoin, DOACC attempts to record:

  • premine - the amount of any premine

All crypto coins to date other than Bitcoin are 100% premined, because they have no users. Speculators mining the shit out of shitcoins with no users is effectively a premine against any future widespread adoption.

For that matter, Bitcoin was 95% premined also given by the time it had significant users it was being mined by ASICs mostly by the Chinese mining farms.

  • masturbation - the maturation time of newly-minted blocksthe P&D

Thanks for the kind words, it's good to know that the work is gaining some favourable views.

I'm personally gratified that thus far I've (mostly) successfully managed to keep my prejudices to myself while working on DOACC, (Minki’s web site is merely a set of HTML renderings of different views of the DOACC (https://github.com/DOACC) RDF graph).

The initial list of anon coins now has a rendering on Minkiz: https://minkiz.co/coin/anon

But no, I've never had any intention of adding a “value” relation - for two reasons that I find very compelling:

1. I don't have a good enough model to explain adequately some of the more challenging anomalies in the domain (read “a small herd of elephants rampaging around the middle of the room”). You've already identified one of them: adequately explaining Bitcoin's primacy. Others include the uniqueness of the Shibes, the implausibly steep curve of the BTC volume long tail, the persistence of unwarranted hope in hodlers and bagholders.
2. A purely idiosyncratic assessment is pretty much guaranteed to engender resentment. Unfortunately, given the chimera of a consensus definition (in common with “beauty”, “value” is in the eyes of the beholder), an idiosyncratic assessment is the only option. So, I focus on facts and supportable inference and let the results speak to the issues.

These are all good questions/points. As you observe, they're also persistent. This piques my curiosity so I'm rootling around to see if I can get some insights by applying techniques from cognitive science.

I've made some progress on the semi-automated list, at least for the top marketcap PoS coins: http://minkiz.co/coin/cmcap-pos (http://minkiz.co/coin/cmcap-pos), I intend to migrate the list to the COINZ section, once I've polished it up a bit and checked the results.

I view blatant hyperbole not as fact but as posturing. If you have a cogent argument to make, it's as well to make it coherent too.

In 2014 there was a low of hope for PoSA 2 and CLOAK failed miserably to deliver on its promises.

Is there an opportunity for a leveraged bet against CLOAK, anywhere? Just that would apply for each and every altcoin, so probably not.

Yes that is true, but from the end of 2014 cloak has new team that works very well.
We have new whitepaper PoSA3 http://cloakcoin.com/downloads/posa3wp.pdf
and security audit of code http://www.cloakcoin.com/downloads/PoSA3_Audit_Report.pdf
Also we have successfully carried out of PoSA3 Beta Test #1, in wich we could not find the transaction to the sender
http://forum.cloakcoin.com/threads/posa3-beta-test-1.37/
So after the realization of PoSA3 wallet which will be soon, with what cloak will is different from dash or monero like anonymous?
It is very possible is better than them. And easy to use from the people.Cloak will be undervauled or they are overvauled?
2016 will be an exciting year for cloak  and anonymity.
