I successfully withdraw all my MEOW from Cryptsy! It take a time, but I got it all!

I can't believe that I was so stupid!
MEOW wallet can't send more than 99'999'999 MEOW per one TX.
This is not a restriction of network, only UI and may be RPC API.
Support have no time to solve all pending withdrawals requests, otherwise they would have told me this.

So, you can cancel your withdrawal through support ticket, and make 2-3 smaller withdrawal requests.

I'm perform little audit and now I know that Cryptsy holds enough MEOW to perform your withdrawal request.

UPD Right now Cryptsy holds at least 6 billions of MEOW, from this amount at least 2,66 billions on hot wallets.

Neither of these pools works for me - Cryptopia's isn't available, and Prohashing doesn't seem to give you the choice to mine MEOW (unless I'm reading the docs incorrectly) - it allows you to choose MEOW as a payment coin, but it hashes whatever coin it thinks is most profitable at the moment.

Does anyone know of a working pool? It would be great to get the chain unstuck.

yeah regarding mining.securepayment.cc .... Some of their pools are better than others on that site. For some the sign message feature to set a fixed diff doesn't work. You will have problems if you can't set the worker diff properly. Vardiff on the pool either makes it really low and the pool rejects the hash or it sets it super high so the miner takes forever to submit a share then they become stale. I've stuck a couple gridseed mini's on Kitteh and Bunny coin and found blocks with some orphans but they paid out most of the blocks I found. I'm also had good luck with Digibyte, mobius and universal with my S7-LN or my old S3 just messing around.

MEOW is still your responsibility.  If you want to head up a multi million dollar chain.  You can not abandon your first born for certain death.

This is a simple request. You don't need to maintain anything other than (publicly) assuring a few seeder nodes, the rest is up to the general public.

imo : the days/phase of newDev coming into a stalled out coin and upgrading the code are over.  the next phase for functional but low-profile coins is just survive. if these niche communities can survive 12-18months by keeping the chain moving, then they can legitimately transfer equity onto asset_platforms.

Before a person invests in a coin they should research the explorer a bit, especially if there has not been an active explorer for a while.

The most important things might be a) Do coins have some reasonable distribution? If one person has all the coins then they can push the price to the moon then dump on newcomers and keep pounding the price down. This is done with coins that have short pow cycles but can also be done with a coin that was sleeping for a while. In this case it may be Cryptopia that has a lot of coins and they have been good so far in aiding distribution. b) If geographic distribution is good then there is some reason to think that the coin appeals to a wider group. That is visible on the geolocation part of the network tab. Not sure other things a person might look for.

If the big wallet belongs to Cryptopia then maybe they got it from running the pool and buying the coins as they are the only outlet for that coin, so if they own that wallet all is good as long as there is an explorer. This is a cool coin with good history as far as I know but without an explorer that gives clear stats a person should be hesitant to trust. If somebody wants to get fairglu to make an explorer, I'll chip in some.

Did some digging and it appears the top wallet on Cryptopia belongs to the exchange. It is a total of all users wallets with means there is some decent distribution.

So long as the block explorer does not show 10 Trillion coins I think we are good to go. This coin has been off everyones radar for a good year now so I think a comeback is on the cards.

Cryptopia should note that whoever deposited those superblocks may be aware of an exploit that has ruined several old coins. Whether this coin will survive that or not, who knows, but it would be fair to pay the hijacker a small ransom for details of the exploit and a fix, to prevent further problems in old coins like this. 

There is no exploit, they simply had enough hash power to fork it and create coins in the chain. Simply, we can remove the offending blocks that deviate from the 25B cap.

Some action is starting with Kitteh. We need a couple devs to whip up some magic and get this back in the spotlight!

Somebody deposited 23 billion coins into their account at Cryptopia. Cryptopia has to decide if those coins are legitimate. 

No, somebody probably deposited almost all of the 50 billions of blockchain injected coins.

Very big part (maybe all?) of that injected coins sold at 1, 2, 3 or so litoshis before 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 months ago. Of course Cryptopia has many data too and probably they know who deposited that coins, but Cryptopia is not the court and they can't make the right decision what to do now. Few bitcoins, maybe few 10s, left the exchange, and every Cryptopia's decision would be wrong now.

Only solutions with no new injured parties is to protect the coin from the new injections, I think.

Yes I agree these coins were sold to investors at 1 Litoshi and it is not for us to take away someones investment. What we can do is strengthen the chain and prevent anyone from trying any funnies again.

The fact that the coin was exploited and somebody added a vast supply of coins using an attack on the coin should be added to the original post and/or a new thread started.

The coin, as it is, bears no resemblance to the original kittehcoin. Imagine if a person added 20 million bitcoin through a hack, and then bitcoin developers hid that fact.

If people are going to continue developing this coin after that exploit they should at least have the honesty to detail the exploit in the op and sketch out a solution or start a new thread that describes the new coin.

This coin after the hack is dead. If you want the coin to succeed it needs a new chain an a relaunch.

Devs don't care about the extra coins/ hack that has been documented here. It doesn't impact the business rules for the project they said.

I am going to look over the wallet and try to find the source of the attack.

If there is anything that can be done then I will make the changes and update the github source and windows wallet.

I will start working on a new version of the wallet, any and all support welcome!

Only solution now is to prevent future attacks. Now it exists block explorer and we can control every possible attacks and cancel all future attack transactions.

Also, in the source code it should be added new checkpoints regularly.

I seriously think the recent kittehcoin "news" was just a quick pump and dump scam. Kittehcoin was nog selling for 1 satoshi on cryptopia for months, some fake news comes online and all of a sudden the price spiked to 20 satoshi, someone just made some quick bucks. Verry little buys after that, only sells.

Such pump and dump tradings are everywhere on every coin with no exceptions at all. Last one of the biggest cases is the extremely high class quick pump and dump of so-called bitcoin cash last days.


So, the basic questions for you are:

Do you recommend selling at the current price?

Do you plan to rebuy this coin again at this current prices?

I seriously think the recent kittehcoin "news" was just a quick pump and dump scam. Kittehcoin was nog selling for 1 satoshi on cryptopia for months, some fake news comes online and all of a sudden the price spiked to 20 satoshi, someone just made some quick bucks. Verry little buys after that, only sells.

To answer your questions:
I never recommend people to do anything. They should always make their own decision, but yes I am very skeptical about Kittehcoin and the red flags it is throwing out. IfIi would have had KittehCoin left I would definitely have taken the left-over buy orders in the book and used them to cash out any LTC I would have left in kitteh. And so no I would def. not buy here, or anywhere unless there would be some major proof of development, which there isn't after 2 months.

I think $meow is going to 1 litecoin satoshi or less within a few days and $LTC will not add to it's value when Bitcoin activates segwit itself. So I would sell meow to LTC and LTC to BTC yes ;)

 

Thank you all for your patience. As promised yesterday, a small update:

There are now 2 seperate dev teams working on and around the kittehcoin codebase. The kittehcoin.io team (Ben and others) is working with newly hired devs and with support of the old devs. Their first goal is to try and fix some older bugs and improve the overall codebase. Since kittehcoin is a litecoin fork this also means implementing code improvements that were merged to other Litecoin based projects. Secondly they are trying to merge in their own ideas and running some tests to see if what they have planned for the platform can actually work. As you can tell I can't give too much details on this yet but progress is going really well and they are getting closer to a (more) stable version. A blog post with the progress and ideas will be posted to .io once the results are in and ready for the public. 

HOWEVER please do not take this as a sign to full-out invest (yet) please. Some critical steps are still ahead and needed before a real GO can be given on the project as a whole.

This also goes for the work the second dev team - which I am part of - is doing. Once the .io dev team gives us the go we will continue the work on our own ideas and platform(s) based on the code and ideas provided by .io , which we hope will benefit the adoption and spreading part of the coin. Creating new use cases for the coin and a new community behind it.

Since I am aware many of you/us are traders and are looking for investment advice I'll say the following:
Things are going well and are looking good. If you have faith and want to be an early investor you could start a small investments here. BUT by any means pumping up the price is not what we are after right now. The lack of updates is our way of trying to keep things as they are right now (price wise) so nobody loses money over our decisions. If the ideas we have turn out to be too cumbersome or even impossible than the risk of losing your investment is still very high, as we might pull the plug completely.

We are working hard behind the scenes. The silence does not mean there is no progress. The plans are really BIG, but need time to be developed and tested properly before anything can be made public. Stay tuned and have a good day!

On the 24th of december a hardfork will occur to upgrade the "old" kittehcoin project to a more powerful and secure state.
With the incoming fork in december it was also time to upgrade the kitteh brand for a more professional look and feel. We are happy to introduce to you: LYNX.

Everyone owning kittehcoin on the 24th of december at approximately 9:30pm will receive an equal amount of Lynx after the fork.

From my understanding, LYNX is an enterely new blockchain independent from the current kittehcoin blockchain, but with which the current private keys will work to get the exact same amount of coins you have. I may be wrong thought, so if a dev could clarify it up that'd be cool.

Last night I dug out my old laptop with my Kittehcoin wallet along with so many others dating back to 2013/2014. Interesting to see I had so many coins back then.

Anyway, the wallet is taking so long to sync. I started last night and it has been running almost constantly since then. Down to 27 weeks now but is taking so long.

192 weeks behind... At least we don't have to sync the wallet to receive coins.

Just leave the coins on cryptopia. After "everyone" already had moved their coins of cryptopia they announced yesterday that cryptopia will list lynx and performed the swap. Terrible communication from the lynx "team".

I just find out this and i have all my Meows in the kittehcoin-Wallet. Should i transfer them to Cryptopia site ? Where i can find information on how to made them to Lynx ?

This is just a quick reminder to move your KittehCoin off the exchanges before Dec 24.  (#cryptopia #novaexchange) Lynx goes live on Dec 24 when it forks from KittehCoin. If you possess Kitteh before the 24th, then you’ll possess Lynx on the 24th (1:1). However, if your Kitteh is on an exchange before the fork, then you won’t.

Yesterday I paniced because the Kittehcoin team said all the coins have to be stored in the wallet for the Hard-Fork of today. So I downloaded the wallet but it wasn't synced. Thanks to shtako I got the wallet syncing but this morning it still wasn't on 50%. So I tried to take a short cut to be on time for the Hard-Fork with the bootstrap.dat and removed all the earlier data and files.

But before I tried the bootstrap, I had already sent the coins to the wallet and backed up the wallet. You do not want to have coins on the exchange. Coins that are not on the exchange will become Lynx.

Hello dear community.
I have a big problem, I do not get my wallet connected, I have a config created, unfortunately without success, a large number of meows have already been sent by Cryptopia to my wallet but they did not arrive.
I then reinstalled the Wallet, and it does not work.
The much bigger problem is that I do not come to the coins, these are probably way.
I have the Wallet.dat saved on a USB stick, and also the deposit address.
How can I get the coins now, and how do I get the wallet up and running?
I use Windows 8 64 bit version.

The coins will not show up until your wallet is synced (up to the block where you receive the coins).

You are completely fine with holding your MEOW in your wallet. When the Lynx wallet is ready you will get your Lynx.

And what is your calculated guess? What did you, move them to cryptopia or will you swap wallets over after you download the Lynx wallet?

I am interested in starting to use this crypto currency as being new to this should I wait until the January 1st reboot to get everything installed and working properly. Just go to your wallet.dat file and save it. As long as you have the wallet.dat it doesn't matter if you synched. You sent the coins to 'address a' and your wallet.dat has the key for that address.  

If you deleted your old wallet.dat then look in your recycle bin and try to restore it. Never send coins to a wallet until you have backed it up. If you don't have a thumb drive then you can have the wallet dump the private key and you can write it on a paper.

You could try Recuva. A little program which can restore deleted files. There is a little chance. To increase the probability of success dont use your harddrive where you stored the wallet. Otherwise the area on the hd may be overwritten. wish you good luck.

Oh my god thank you so much, maybe there is a chance.. I found a Wallet.dat file. I'm not sure if it is the right one. But now the next problem.. I also deleted the Wallet. The Kittehcoin website doesn't offer a wallet-download anymore.

Dash was launched as Xcoin, became darkcoin and ended up as dash. Verge was launched as dogecoindark. It is not uncommon for coins to rebrand.

From 24th Dec all new MEOW mined will be on the original fork so your ne MEOW mined from 24th Dec onwards are useless that is unless someone keeps addnodes for Kitteh alive and keeps it going.

The people behind lynx should really create a new ANN and offer some bounties.
