Thank you all for your patience. As promised yesterday, a small update:

There are now 2 seperate dev teams working on and around the kittehcoin codebase. The kittehcoin.io team (Ben and others) is working with newly hired devs and with support of the old devs. Their first goal is to try and fix some older bugs and improve the overall codebase. Since kittehcoin is a litecoin fork this also means implementing code improvements that were merged to other Litecoin based projects. Secondly they are trying to merge in their own ideas and running some tests to see if what they have planned for the platform can actually work. As you can tell I can't give too much details on this yet but progress is going really well and they are getting closer to a (more) stable version. A blog post with the progress and ideas will be posted to .io once the results are in and ready for the public. 

HOWEVER please do not take this as a sign to full-out invest (yet) please. Some critical steps are still ahead and needed before a real GO can be given on the project as a whole.

This also goes for the work the second dev team - which I am part of - is doing. Once the .io dev team gives us the go we will continue the work on our own ideas and platform(s) based on the code and ideas provided by .io , which we hope will benefit the adoption and spreading part of the coin. Creating new use cases for the coin and a new community behind it.

Since I am aware many of you/us are traders and are looking for investment advice I'll say the following:
Things are going well and are looking good. If you have faith and want to be an early investor you could start a small investments here. BUT by any means pumping up the price is not what we are after right now. The lack of updates is our way of trying to keep things as they are right now (price wise) so nobody loses money over our decisions. If the ideas we have turn out to be too cumbersome or even impossible than the risk of losing your investment is still very high, as we might pull the plug completely.

We are working hard behind the scenes. The silence does not mean there is no progress. The plans are really BIG, but need time to be developed and tested properly before anything can be made public. Stay tuned and have a good day!

As a member of old dev team I can say that I never heard that someone "hacked MEOW" and that somehow much more coins are generated, that could happen later.
At the time before CoinedUP you could mine several millions per day with one 280X card. Price was very high and we, inside team had a lot of coins but newer sold any single one.
Me alone had about 28 millions back then. After that cryptsy story began, later on we found out that cryptsy was adding lot of coins just for the reason to get out from the debts, hoping that there will be just one who will make success. Problem with MEOW was also because competition, trends are changing and now you can't see much new coins. Back then you had more than 100 each month. To this day only few survived. But still with our work we made to RT and Keiser report. Hm, to this day I believe that major dump and killing the project began with the person from RT
People involved in MEOW had high hopes with Cryptsy but since kittehcoin was under constant 51% attack we had lot of problems. Later on KGW was implemented but that didn't bring much success, something was wrong. Someone was testing first scrypt asics on MEOW constantly and he was trying everything to kill the project. Some team members sold their coins frustrated because those attacks. On the other hand Dano was the person who wasn't creator of this coin and I felt that he wanted to build something on its own. He was kinda tired from fixing what original developer did in the code. Syscoin was born and I was the only one from original MEOW team who didn't participated in it. I was hoping that some day I will back to this project but I never had the time for that, not even now. Still holding about 580 millions of MEOW and my friends who were involved in mining back then have more than two times that much. Honest thing to do right now is to do swap with timeframe. Those who miss it, don't get anything. If someone hacked the coin, he is long gone and isn't watching any of this. Good luck.

It was the first coin i ever worked on and that was back in 2013/2014 i think.
