Yes, it seems the trend has begun to reach further more but hope this is not another manipulation by someone since suddenly increased value over $20 in a single day but it's also good sign if this trend continues until the halving and then huge spike and makes all of us happy. Wish I didn't exchange earlier today when price was lower though.

The good thing is I think when we hit the coveted $1,000 mark again, it will be alot quicker and easier to go from $1,000 to $2k and beyond than from $200 back to $1000.

I think we won't reach $500 just yet. This rise should stall at $440-450, which is already $30+ than I initially predicted. For now there are no reasons to go to $500, other than some whale wants speculatively pump it till there (as in last November). Important is where is the new bottom after the correction that follows. Looks like $415 may be the potential candidate, subject to further confirmation.

Bitcoin going up 10-20 dollars in a day actually is a big move for any asset.  It's a large percentage jump and that's why people get excited (or scared).  In the world of bitcoin it's become not such a big deal because it seems to happen so frequently--and then people panic sell or buy because of FOMO.  I'm happy with the recent increase, though I just sold some bitcoin...ugh.  Can never seem to make money.

This is the beauty of bitcoin. Whoever trusted got profited. when the price got decreasing everyone left after selling what they have earned. The one who believed of price rise just been holding, they get the 10-15$ growth profit.

Yeah, you need to have faith in bitcoins and if you have it you can make good profits out of it, and majority of us are still holding as we expect that price would be much higher in next couple of months.

i think the important question here is to ask if this is the start of the rally or is it just coming back to he $450 level which we had before the drama a while back.

With halving coming up and various companies and countries loosening restrictions on Bitcoin, the whole community is getting excited and have stopped over selling but are now buying rapidly.

I think a lot of the investors are now regaining their confidence and are getting their money back into Bitcoin. And considering the movement that has been occur, I would say that more investors are eyeing Bitcoin as a way for them to make some money.

I was shocked to see Bitcoin price reach 440 USD per coin this morning. I foreseen a bubble coming up in a few months time. Let's prey that it will at least stay strong at 400 range. :).

this price was kind of expected from yesterday when the news about consensus was released. although consensus is not yet completely reached the news is a good news anyways which obviously lead to price rise.

I agree. This price is a correction back to the norm prior to Hearn incident and communication taking place over technicalities.

It is not yet the bubble due to the halving, rather a small mini-pump to test and prepare for it. I think we should be soon running out of steam and a small correction will start to show us what are the new support levels. My guess is, we move the bottom from $350 to $415. But this needs to be tested yet.

Still, this kind of news on the block size has been popping around twice or three times in the past already and the agreement is far from being concluded. Let's hope this time is for real and with the schedule provided it may strengthen 'the effect of halving'.

I expect we finally see a small correction, to check the recent price rise. We would be much wiser then, what are the current support levels. My bet is $415 can be seen as a new bottom, to substitute $350.

sounds good but recently just sell my bitcoin because i was losing my patience to wait till prices reach again to $450 but i'm still hope we will see prices back to $450 or above

IMO people are front running ahead of the next halving based on the trend of the previous halving and loading up on BTC in the hope of a spike in price in the months following the next halving in July this year (approx date)

I am currently waiting for the price rose to $ 450 bitcoin, and bitcoin is currently priced at $ 440 there, maybe this will happen as soon as possible, and after the price reached $ 450, maybe this is the first step that bitcoin prices back to $ 500  ;D

The fight for $500 is going to be a struggle.
I expect we go sideways in the 400s for some while before any significant will happen.
Just a few minuted ago we dropped almost $30 and have recovered to 424 now.

You may be right as $500 price level is the strong psychological resistance. Many people would have set $500 as their short-term target so there would be more selling pressure. But in second or third attempt crossing $500 is more easy for bitcoin prices. Halving will support it more.

and here comes the correction I was talking about yesterday. We are in the low $420 at the moment, let's how the test of $415 looks like. If $415 is broken the whole recent rise would be cancelled and we are back in the channel $350-415, probably going back to $380. But I think $415 should hold.

Yes its good to hold your bitcoins till the halving is coming, because you will making a lot of profit at the end of the halving if you hold them.
I'm also doing it due the people that said it to me, just hold your bitcoins and wait for the halving, but you also have to keep in mind that the bitcoin is unpredictable.

Of course, I cannot be 100% certain where the correction would stop, but technical analysis can give me some hints. One hint is that the resistance at $415 that was turned into a support with most recent rally has to be tested. And that is what we see right now. That is the first of the possible levels where the correction move can stop.

That's right. If every user thinks like you then we can experience a great price increase even before halving takes place. In the past few days price increase most users as well traders has got good profits.

It is not crashing at the moment. Quite to the contrary, $415 seems to hold nicely. Let's how it supports further selling pressure, but for now at least, it looks pretty solid.

I was expecting you to create a new thread to be honest. It's a normal crash where some larger traders have secured some profits. Can't see anything being wrong with that. It might test the $400 price level any time soon but I expect it to hold firmly.

Its changing everyday, so its not to predict it was at 440 but not its already to 428 again so its just a matter of time before it will go upwards again to the 500 dollar range.
In my opinion the 500 dollar is possible in a few weeks if you ask me, just be patient.

The last time I looked at the price, it was $440 then went down to $423. Should this be a correction, we're ought to see a few more increases before February ends - probably lasting about a week or two. Maybe going back to the $440 again.

it's not crashing. don't try to cause unneeded drama. these dumps are very common nowadays and don't scare off people beside some rookies.

Yes it is almost destined to be. Every time the price goes up we see it come in a decline shortly afterwards.

If the price can stay above $400 for the next month also, it is excellent news for it to be used as an investment.

The price rise to $500 will not be too soon, maybe in May or June with the expection of the block halving.

We all hope of course that the value will be more in the future. And that will be so good. But you dont know when the value stops and that is scary.

There are no indications to see the price drop below $400 so you can basically start with buying at todays price. A few bucks more or less won't make that much of a difference.

We're pushing towards something on the horizon but still not 100% which way it will go. I'm leaning towards a big jump up but you just never know with bitcoin.

the price is really stable for a long time already so i think it has a lot of power to grow really soon significantly and make me a lot of money for just holding some bitcoins in my cold storage

If price got above ~$425 I'd expect it to go much higher (and, conversely, if it went below ~$415 I'd expect it to much lower).

$440 is the recent resistance level. So it is broken, then psychologically, the price could go higher.

Bitcoin is getting indeed higher now and that is nice for the people who have already made an investment and that is really nice for them so they can sell it with profit.
The bad thing is that you dont know when you are must going to sell it because the value is always changing so you never know when it will go down again.

That's not normal I think, IMO, it will look like an artificial pump and could fall anytime.. but of course, if it is naturally happening because everyone is holding, then expect the price to stay high for a little long..

a dump causing the price to come very close to $400 is definitely possible, but i can't see it go below $400 as we are getting closer to the block halving which gives people good confidence. but yes, there is enough time before the block halving and in that time literally anything can happen. even a dump to very low $400's.

It is possible for the price to drop below $400, but it will not last more than a few hours. That is a good buying opportunity.

I don't think a dump will happen anymore as there are no indications for that, we can see increased price rates due to the block reward halving, we can aim a price rise of  $500 to $600 in the coming months.

As you can see now you see that the value is not even that high now and that is because the value kept stable for a long time and that is not that best for the currency itself.

Right because of halving, I think it will minimized the possible dumps at $500 since everyone is expecting for a price rise before and after halving. Unlike last year, it has no quite factor that's why many bulls perform their action during $500.

It does not matter if it is soon or later. It should happen steadily else we will be back at 400 dollars in no time. Just be patient and you will see adoption and/or new money will come in.

That's true. I'd rather the coin to rise a few $10's a week, or even $30 each week than to have one huge pump to increase the price by $100 in a day.

quite a long time, and for three years the price has never gone more than $500. thus halving is the right time for you to sell everything.

almost at $500? not sure what price you are looking at but the price here is still just over $450. and don't get tricked into thinking the $500 price level is very close. it will take a month or 2 before we break through that price level. we need to have some patience.

I believe in less than 2 months we will able to see the $500 floor since stabilization must start next month if they want to see those speculated price to be happen. Lots of bullish activity must be present next month and that is the start.
