Title: Theymos Help a girl out my Bitcoin Talk account has been Hacked!!!
Post by: realcassieheart on May 12, 2016, 05:53:38 AM

Here is my video proving I am Cassie Heart "https://www.youtube.com/embed/wnDQYqwto90"

I have also tweeted from my official twitter account to Bitcointalk here https://twitter.com/CassieHeart/status/730230681691901952

Yesterday I was unable to login to my account or recover my password from my email so I made this new account and posted in the newbies forum for help here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1468048.msg14813303#msg14813303

A forum member by the name of knightdk almost immediately wrote me and said he had escrowed the sale of my account that it had been sold.So after I DM'ed him on twitter to prove it was me he gave me more information about the sale.

The seller is 2Accounts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=836927), which unfortunately is a throwaway account. The buyer is Cantoner (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=698307). The seller provided me the following as proof of ownership:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg13752905#msg13752905

message: selling cassieheart account to Cantoner on 09-05-2016
address: 16K7dX8QWaxiuEcE9jpCF8ecSYdcWmLN7X
signature: IPoV2Gwihk2YkgcwARZ7/x7R/YVAg8ENvEvPsxwavzozR+J8ZdikA3yNHxL9offcrjEsM4Ys0ykWeqkv6yLA37c=

The hacker must have had the password to my account for 3 or more months because he staked an address on my account to prove he was the owner. I didn't notice the post to be honest I never check and I haven't been very active on my account lately been so busy.

Now the impostor who bought my account is holding it ransom until I pay him back what he paid for it. I think that is ridiculous I am not going to reward some one for bad behavior farming / buying and selling accounts, posing as some one else is deceptive and shady. For all I know even the escrower that is seemingly trying to help me is in on it. It all seems shady and fishy to me. The guy wrote me on my own account to tell me this !

Hi there i see you are online i had done everything right signed message from the adress staked, soo i believe will be hard for you recover this account,i dont wanna to hit or anything related to your business, there is several pm here i havent changed nothing,if you able to make the payment to recover your previous account let me know we can use escrow. When i bought this account i had used escrow soo we can use the same person and you get back your account and me my bitcoins spent as this account, let me know your opinion.

Unfortunately I do not have access to any bitcoin addresses I have posted on my account and honestly I don't remember if I ever have. So I cant prove ownership that way so I hope my video and access to other accounts will prove its me. This is all a bad dream a really ,really horrible bad dream I want to wake up from lol. Please help a girl out!

~Cassie

Sorry to hear you got hacked that's really shitty. But I don't think that it'll be possible for you to reclaim that account. Now don't take this the wrong way, I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm just considering possible scenarios. Who's to say you didn't sell the account yourself and now that you have the Bitcoins, you're just trying to get the account back and keep the BTC? You see what I'm getting at? If that were to be the case then it wouldn't be fair on the buyer to have paid for the account and then having to return it without getting his money back. You'll need better proof before the mods will consider taking action.
I sincerely hope you get your account back if you're truly the victim here. Good luck.

i really dont understand why they allow the selling of accounts on this forum..
it really sets things up to be scammed easy.

Really wtf how much more proof do I need lmfao?
If I really needed 0.075BTC or $33 USD don't you think I could come up with a easier way then this? Honestly ObscureBean thats insulting..

yep found out the hard way.. its a thing that people buy accounts with good green trust and then use that trust to scam people..

I'm really sorry if I insulted you, that was not my intention. I didn't even consider the money involved here, I said what I said in the interest of fairness and logic. Surely you recognize the scenario I described above as a possibility, whether or not it is true in this particular case. And why a ruling in your favor would be unfair without sufficient evidence.

Care to elaborate how the "accused" seller could sign a message (http://wallet-2sx53n.sakurity.com/#verify?vrAddr=16K7dX8QWaxiuEcE9jpCF8ecSYdcWmLN7X&vrMsg=selling%20cassieheart%20account%20to%20Cantoner%20on%2009-05-2016&vrSig=IPoV2Gwihk2YkgcwARZ7%2Fx7R%2FYVAg8ENvEvPsxwavzozR%2BJ8ZdikA3yNHxL9offcrjEsM4Ys0ykWeqkv6yLA37c%3D) from a staked address?

Yes I can understand he might have logged in to your account and staked that address.

How about signing it from one of your addresses:

Code:
1BBfFxeYerSaidBHArWY6cs7oZku9z2ejn
19HVKRumThxn3ixoYH17cbeJ7MUbnQhpyY
1M6tN6EvHpydFdrW6yRrDGHLuiVHknrsnG

1K3txYYf7XimPkD4th5hDUagd3WooDRoCC
13CmQfEFVgQH7ebnhALdJzFMiY3ZCKPi9k

Or you might sign from one of these addresses as well:

Code:
https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/3886f8001eed15bd/addresses
https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/0aa5cfc6d54a6f61/addresses
https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/3a9386fbd5cc0dd0/addresses

Your youtube video does not mean anything lol

Yes, you need to provide a feasible digital signature as proof.
Currently those proofs won't convince theymos. For reference, click here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0).

Not an expert or anything but pretty sure they're different addresses.

Although, after watching her video I am convinced https://i.imgur.com/ujEpbjZ.jpg she is telling the truth. But sadly the odds of getting this account back are against her for she can't provide any signed proofs. And rules are same for everyone, whether it be Craig Wright or a girl with pretty eyes. That rhymed slightly

Your cassieheart account appears to have done a btc/paypal transaction with JohnK back around September of 2013... it might be a long shot but maybe if you were able to sign a message from the address that JohnK sent your BTC to?  You would obviously need JohnK to confirm the address he sent it to.

The issue is not so much about her proving it's her account, I'm fairly sure it's hers. The problem is that she is not the only one involved with this account, the buyer probably didn't know it was a hacked account when he bought it. You can't just take it from him after he paid money for it and give it back to her.
I've had a quick look at Cantoner's account and he looks like a legit buyer. It looks like he bought the account because he was interested in joining signature campaigns (I may be wrong).
What I'm trying to say is that a ruling must be fair. I feel sorry for Cassie but Cantoner also stands to lose from this.

If its her account she should get it back, participating in buying/selling accounts isn't a legit practice in my mind, so the buyer should expect to get scammed eventually. I have no heart for people buying accounts, especially for signature campaigns.
Unless cassieheart sold her account intentionally, she should get it back.

Lol it's not about what you think should be legit, it's about justice and fairness. If you think buying/selling accounts isn't a legit practice then you should pick a fight the Bitcointalk for allowing such practices in the first place. As far as I'm concerned they both look like victims and I don't think it's fair to compensate one victim at the expense of the other.

Also I don't know if you read my first comment but how can you be 100% sure she didn't sell her account herself from a sockpuppet and now she's trying to get it back while keeping the BTC she received for it?
I'm not saying that's what she did, I'm actually fairly certain she's a victim here but you can't overlook this possibility.

EDIT: Sorry about the second part, you already mentioned that, I misread your last line.

Regardless of whether or not the account buyer was tricked if the OP can actually prove that it is her account then the buyer should lose (they got tricked by the seller and that is not the fault of the original account owner).

If you are going to buy accounts on this forum then you should realise that it is very likely that you will be buying hacked accounts (as this forum doesn't care about trying to prevent this from occurring same as it doesn't try and prevent ponzis and altcoin scams which abound).

So if you decide to buy accounts on this forum and you get burned then I have zero sympathy for you (because you could have simply created a new account and waited for it to mature but decided you didn't want to bother with the only reason being "greed").

There is simply no "legit" reason to buy an account - create a new one and "do your time" (like I and most other more seasoned account holders did).

When I joined you had to go through "newbie jail" which they got rid of so I can't see any reason at all to be buying accounts. Would the buyer of the account in question care to justify why they should retain said account if it is proven to have been hacked?

This is the key problem. The admins can check the IP logs and see who has accessed the account and check if the IPs match, but even that is not definitive because people can use proxies and Tor. The account which sold it was also clearly a throwaway.

I also think this issue if further support for showing the user the IP addresses of recent logins to their accounts so that people can see if someone else has hacked their account but did not change the password.

How can a hacker acess the account stake a message ,and then sell the account with the staked message and just after the account get sold come here complaining about some hacker attempt.
She only saw here account got hacked after it got sold?Thats what had happened here, account sold on last day and a day after she comes saying she got hacked, sorry is hard to believe in you.I had said already i will return the account if she returns to me the bitcoins spent at it,i got a staked message older then 3 months that makes me owner of this account.
I cant give back the account and forget about the bitcoins spent ,when i had follow all the guides to avoid get a hacked or not trusted account, from the scammers.
Look isnt nothing personal you should had saw those message the same way you could deal with me take your account back and i mine bitcoins its very easy to work this out.Without staked message you arent able to recover any account here,i just dont believe you let a hacker acess and use your account to stake an adress without being able to see that, makes no sense at all.

Why didn't you just create a new account?

(the only reason is "greed" isn't it - you just couldn't be bothered to create a new account and mature it could you?)

If you bought a hacked account then you deserve to lose - next time create a new account rather than doing what you are doing.

No-one should give you any pity as you don't care to create a new account as most honest people do (you were just hoping to get quick returns from ad-sig posts no doubt).

i been reading through this thread.. its sad that someone can hack an account and then sell it.. making the original owner not allowed to get it back.

you say you had a staked message from 3 months ago.. but i dont see it.. i see a signed message from the 11th.. but the address it NOT the same as the one posted in feb.. it doesnt even prove anything.

it does look like this account wasnt used for a really long time.. then one day a staked message pops up and it gets sold? its obvious it was hacked.. at least to me.

Who are you to make the rules here?I bought a potencial hero if i choose to do signature is my problem and not your concern.I had bought this account clean way from the seller, with the only staked adress used to this account.
This person just saw the account gone after get sold.
This person let someone use and acess her account and stake a message without she notice it.

Im offering to give back this account as long she repays me ,as at my vision i bought a legit account here,i take all requirements to avoid get scammer or support scammers.

And because i had bought this account im not honest?Where you from wich world?Really because i bought an account im now what a scammer a thief??Im sorry but you are wrong ,your arguments arent valid, and lets be fair i bought an account the same way you can buy and pay for a service here.

Why on earth does she need to repay you for the scammed account?

Don't you think that the asshole that sold you this account should be the one repaying funds rather than the victim whose account was stolen?

(if you don't accept that then you really are a piece of shit and deserve to lose)

You seem to have some sort of mental problem that you think it is okay for someone to steal an account and sell it to you and then you think that the victim of said crime should pay for you (the idiot asshole that just tried to take advantage of the account).

You have a staked message older than three months?  How so?  Are you the hacker? No, that doesn't make sense because you just bought the account right?  That means you couldn't have staked an address older than a couple of days. The hacker could say it's his account and prove it by signing a message with the staked address of 3 months ago - do you think he will forget the key?  That staked address was only there to convince you it was a legit account for sale; now it's there for the hacker to come back and claim the account.  Wait a second, you could have sold it through an escrow and bought it yourself (for only the escrow costs net) to legitimize the sale and in this way the three month old staked address really is yours!  Hmmm..... interesting stuff here; hypothetically speaking of course.

Ah well now the account is red - you might as well give it to the real original owner.  It's nice of you to offer it back to her at cost though.  Personally I would jump at that offer rather than admit how terribly lax I am at security.

@OP - I am fairly convinced that an asshole bought your hacked account from another asshole and I think you should simply forget about the two assholes (for a start no-one is now going to now believe that the account belongs to a female).

Continue with your new account and don't worry about the assholes would be my advice (it is going to take a few such incidents to put a dent in the account purchasing scams on this forum IMO).

Im offering to give back this account as long she repays me ,as at my vision i bought a legit account here,i take all requirements to avoid get scammer or support scammers.

I didnt saw its ok to get accounts hacked, but be realistic how to believe someone were able to post a message from her account without she notice it?
Soo the person that must pay because someone maybe hacked this account for what i had paid is me.We are both victims on these i had prevented my self is she didnt what i should do charity?

I had allowed the escrow to expose the details about the transaction with her(seller),i had sent the message to her to deal soo she gets back her account and  i and my bitcoins its very easy thing to do and work this out. Im a victim here as this supost real owner, this account got sold on day 9 and judt yesterday she noticed the account had been hacked..... makes no sense, sorry i dont believe.

The staked message is on the first post from the op:

message: selling cassieheart account to Cantoner on 09-05-2016
address: 16K7dX8QWaxiuEcE9jpCF8ecSYdcWmLN7X

I havent acess to that adress as were the seller who signed the message to me,and i forgot to take the adress together with the deal, but that proof im the new owner of this account. And the new adress staked yesterday is to assure im the holder of the adress related to the account,if any problem comes i have those message saved already to avoid any confusion.

I wanna all clear otherwise i could asked the escrow to dont show my details ,i contacted her to try to work this problem but she is victim as me the difference is i have a staked message and she doesnt .

Just look at that date and when the account was first created.

Are you fucking stupid?

(either you are or you are just not admitting how much you screwed up in not doing your research)

No - I don't have time for assholes such as yourself. Create a new fucking account and stop trying to buy other accounts - is it that fucking hard for you to understand?

You are proven to be an asshole who just bought an obviously hacked account in order to try and make money. So stop trying to say that anyone should pity you (you are not only an asshole but now showing yourself to be a stupid asshole).

I know when has been created as all can see ,did you saw any of the adress a signed message?Im the victim here as well makes no sense to red mark this account because got sold, and the supost owner cant prove.Soo i will wait the admins decision if they will act on this ,and just to note the fact you know about the cams isnt nothing new as the hacker had time to see all pm and the persons which you talked before.

As an older member she should know that need to proctet her account last hack attemp werent long time ago, makes no sense just after the account get sold the supost real owner come here asking for it back,as i said refund my bitcoins and i refund your account ,is the most fair thing i can do for you now.

Incorrect - you should have realised that the "staking" was only done very recently and her account was years old (it took me all of 1 minute to work that out).

You still proceeded with buying the account despite the fact that you should have known that it was very likely that it had been hacked (my guess is you thought that she had left and would not find that her account had been stolen).

You have no moral ground on which to walk upon as I have shown.

Just give up and give her back her account would be the right thing to do (for sure you can call out the asshole that sold you the account to make sure that they can't do that under the same name again).

You lost some BTC but the reason you lost it is because you didn't want to just create a new account and wait like everyone else (so you actually deserve to have lost some BTC for doing so).

The only person you should be asking for a refund from is the asshole that you bought this account from.

To expect that the hacked original owner of the account to refund you is just mind boggling to say the least.

How you can sleep at night is a mystery to me as you think it is fine to just screw people and demand that victims should pay you money for trying to screw them.

You really are a piece of shit (and now that it has been noticed don't expect that you'll get away with buying any other accounts here).

for all we know its this guy that sold the account to himself after figuring out her password and making a post in the stake thread..

maybe if the devs are reading this, they need to enhance the security some.. make the last time you logged in by ip notification emailed you to.. or have 2fa for password changes..

You aren't going to get anything back from this account as I am going to make sure it has zero value (try as hard as you like but I am going to make sure that you can't make one cent from this account).

Sorry but don't do this shit in the future (i.e. don't buy accounts).

This is not about opinions but about assholes (which you have shown that you are).

If you don't want to look like an asshole then don't buy accounts.

i would hope this account stays flagged.  I have to agree with CIYAM here man, you participated in shady shit like buying an identity (old ass accounts are like identities most the time and easily seen in this scenario)   you do zero research on said account showing you did not care where it came from. all to find a back way into participating in some sig campaigns, have you no shame or sense man?
you should give the account back, no questions asked. you played a shady game and lost. end of story.
account buying is a shady game.
and no , "we" don't make the rules, but the trust system isn't modded either, so expect to keep the red flag.

There are several old members here that stayed away from bitcointalk and then returned soo your imagination is out of being realistic.I had paid someone, that for me were the real owner that wanna to leave the forum as some people had already made that and sold their account soo your questions keeps making no sense, and i agree just one thing the security level need to be higher, 2fa its a must since people are getting scammed all days and this must stop.So no longer hackers can take advantage of the accounts and make a fake sell to others and come complaint latter,in not saying this happend here but its the second thing here that hapened already ,the accoung get sold and the supost real owner comes to get it back.

You paid someone who only provided a staked address that was very recent (for an account that was very old).

Either you are just stupid or what?

Do you seriously think that the forum should support people as stupid as you?

(I don't)

Again *idiot* why did you not just create a new account?

(yes - you have failed to answer that question at least 3 times already)

Just give the account back.... you've made plenty of money doing this to other accounts. Its obvious the real owner isn't who you thought it was, that's not the account owners mistake, its yours. I doubt you would even give the account back if you were paid. Nobody is going to trust you enough to send you anything for this account. The account will be useless and there is no reason to hold onto it.

I think it is interesting to see this kind of asshole at work.

He must have many such other accounts - perhaps some research should be done about those.

(yes - you stupid fucker I am going to ruin all of your bought accounts - so if you want to keep on attacking me then bring it on)

To end this chat i will sleep well as i didnt buy an account without staked message and adress even not being the oldest adress connected to the account its the proof of a legit transaction.

But the person you paid was not the OP was it?

So where is the person that you paid for this account?

You bought an account and feel taken advantage of?  I view buying an selling of accounts as shady I'm surprised people are willing to escrow them to be honest.  You really should raise an account of your own... yes it takes much longer.

You really have two options you can give account back and look like a "good guy" for what it's worth.  Or you can try get money back that most likely will not happen and you have a account with negative forever.    Honestly you are best off giving it back to original owner and just stay away from buying accounts.

Honestly I appreciate all of the support from you guys. I really didn't think this was going to go very well when I posted.
I thought it would end up being a bash Cassie troll fest, but I was wrong. Even if I don't get the account back I'm starting to feel better about the community I once loved. I really haven't been all that active because of the shady shit that goes down and its really gotten hard to be able to vet and gauge good and bad around here..

Honestly exactly what went on with your account is probably not going to be determined (but it could well have been hacked and that does seem to be the most likely thing).

The person now in control of the account has basically admitted that they did not do any due diligence about said account and have realised that they have screwed up (although they are yet to admit it entirely).

Unfortunately if you don't have a way to prove prior ownership of the account then there is really no solution here so perhaps you'll need to accept your new forum name (or create another one).

It is understandable to be upset over losing a name but also you need to realise that your password must not have been very good (otherwise your account would not have been hacked).

It seriously sucks, there was allot of information on that account that I actually use lol. Like how to get the flex src for cam4btc to compile so I can relaunch the cam site. That's actually how I figured my account was hacked.. I was looking back on some older messages because I am having problems building the source so I can change the ip to a new server.

Now i'm kinda screwed. I guess that's a lesson learned always keep hard copies of important messages and docs...

Incorrect - you should have realised that the "staking" was only done very recently and her account was years old (it took me all of 1 minute to work that out).
The thing is, some accounts are bought and sold very quickly, usually by account farmers who will buy an account, do some posting and rank it up, then sell it as soon as possible. It doesn't seem that strange (at least to me) to see an old account have a new staked message and be sold off after a few months.

Don't lose faith.  At some point the community will band together and ostracize these account buyers/sellers that are a cancer to bitcointalk.
I suppose I should stop escrowing these kinds of trades. Or at least make my fees something ridiculous for account trades.

And I think escrows need to show character like yours and not escrow account sales.   As really the person escrowing account does not know if it was farmed or hacked, they are taking word of someone who chances are is shady with selling accounts.

I think getting rid of escrows will slow it down.  With it being ok to buy/sell they will always be there.  But no escrow will slow it down.

Don't do it Theymos; it's a tramp trap!

I couldn't resist.

You made me laugh. I think she is one good looking girl with nice shape`s :)

After this topic account that account will not worth same like in beginning. Now it have a red negative, probably banned from some campaign.
I also don`t like that buying and selling accounts. I noticed so many scams here in meta section, people should pay more attention on reading and learning then on earning.

I wish you good luck Cassie and next time be more careful with your account.

Why are you going through all that and risked being scammed for the 0.035btc?
Why not get an escrow to handle the whole exchange?

I don't trust either party here. Better to be safe than sorry.

I Don't need escrow there is no point. I am also only going to pay 50% of what he paid for my account. He bought 2 accounts for 0.15 btc at 0.075 a piece. I will give him  0.035 BTC for my account I think that is a fair deal. Ill just send him the BTC then he can send me the creds to my account...
I'm prolly going to get scammed but its worth a shot....

Maybe you can get him to shave some off the deal if you throw in this account since you don't really need it and it seemed like he wanted to take the persona of a girl... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Lol not being rude but the only mind boggling thing here is your logic.
America originally belonged to the Indians right? However today's Americans have got nothing to do with what transpired back then when their ancestors conquered the country.. right? What say we rip the country from today's innocent Americans and give it back to the Indians just because they were the original owners? How would you feel about that?
Your logic in a nutshell.

In order for police to get your stolen stuff back, you need to prove it was yours in the first place.

In this matter, the one claiming to be the true owner has not signed the proof that Theymos requests.
There are no early addresses to sign from (allegedly. someone posted a whole bunch a few pages back).
If Theymos is willing to check IPs and all that stuff, then that is at his own discretion.
Otherwise, the person claiming original ownership has not met the burden of proof yet.

If the second owner is willing sell back to the alleged original owner for the total or partial amount
that the second owner paid, that is fine as long as the alleged original owner can't prove ownership.
As soon as the original person can show ownership, it should be automatically transferred with the
second owner taking the loss.

Account selling/buying is a tricky business and all parties should be checking and verifying everything.

When there are two equally wronged victims and "justice" sides with one of them at the expense of the other, that's when you know all is lost. It's time you decide where you stand.
In your example above you describe what the authorities would do. What they think is fair is their business, right now you still have the freedom to decide for yourself what is just. Though maybe not for long.

Recent PM examples from knowhow:

First of all sell and buy accounts here are allowed ,and the fact i buy and sell accounts its a service i provide.Second who the hell are you to decide or choose ?I believe you are an alt of the user that tagged me anyway i dont care at all.And to finish there are users selling hero and legendary ,and some of them with green trust those should be the persons who should spend your time,i buy and sell im sorry if a person buy an account mine and scam others, you should know how to protect yourself.I cant know for what the user wanna the account i just sell and buy them soo the thing that is done with the accounts isnt my fault ,i offer a service that in my vision its a boost to who wanna be at signature campaigns and just that.Otherwise the account market would be almost useless since would be able to recover the investment.

Hes still asking 0.075 for my account he wont take 50% so there is going to be no deal.  If Theymos doesn't return my account he should at the least destroy it, so no one else gets facked....

The admins usually keep quiet about it, until they say that they have reset the password/email. Just wanted to point out that the new owner's writing seems a lot like knowhow's, who has bought many account before.
PM you got:
Quote
Hi there i see you are online i had done everything right signed message from the adress staked, soo i believe will be hard for you recover this account,i dont wanna to hit or anything related to your business, there is several pm here i havent changed nothing,if you able to make the payment to recover your previous account let me know we can use escrow. When i bought this account i had used escrow soo we can use the same person and you get back your account and me my bitcoins spent as this account, let me know your opinion.

One of knowhow's recent posts:
There is a store I sometime shop at that takes BTC. http://www.mission-market.net/

It's out of the way for me most of the time. But whenever I'm in the area I stop by and buy a Sandwich or soda.

They also have a store by angel stadium that also has a bitcoin ATM.

Well its good to see some companies working with bitcoin soo for you ,if you in the area thats your point were you would go because they work with bitcoin, that makes the difference for sure, how about the prices are similiar the market but converted into bitcoins?I hope one day i can walk do the same as you be able to spend some bitcoins.
Both use soo, the commas are placed similarly and notice the no spaces after ending punctuation (?,.)
This isn't solid proof, but if someone did something similar to what was done with Quickseller and Panthers52, I'm sure they would be very similar.

Good luck getting your account back.

Well THIS time i got nothing to do with that transaction i had bough accounts on the last time and lost them all and with them my bitcoins soo kindly take me out of this confusion.

Your a true piece of work. If theymos provides some knowledge that you are certainly not the account holder of cassie's hacked account, I'll change my opinion. Otherwise, at this point, I wouldn't trust you with *anything*.

Recent PM examples from knowhow:
Quote

I have tried to hold back but honestly your an ass hole ObscureBean...

Your logic in a nutshell.

yeah but his logic is how stolen property works.

say i steal something from you and sell it to someone.. the cops track it down, take it from that guy and give it back to you.. even if he paid for it.. heck if its something expensive they might even arrest the guy that bought it, even if he didnt even know it was stolen...

As much as theymos would love to restore this account back to you, he can't, for he has to follow his own rules and therefore his hands are tied. See if you can find an old address to sign a message with and maybe then he will be able to help.

Hey Cassie,  Was your password a dictionary word and if not how long was it (the password).  How long must they be?

Depends o  wheth you type tem in or rely on storing them in the device.   Get a printable 64 character password from [urlhttps://www.grc.com/passwords.htm[/url].   I guess your password was too short.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I hope you realize that it's nothing personal, I'm not saying you did anything wrong and I got nothing against you. It's just that as far as I'm concerned he's as much of a victim in this as you are. All he has done is buy an account from the marketplace and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, it is not prohibited here on the forum. It doesn't even matter what he plans to do with the account. If buying/selling accounts was not allowed, I would totally be siding with you just so you know.

Honestly, I don't think its as cut and dry as he just bought a account.. I think this whole shenanigans runs a bit deeper than that. Even if Theymos doesn't get back with me I'm cool. I just wish he would look into it a little deeper and post his findings.

Honestly ObscureBean thats insulting..

You've apparently been on BCT long enough to know to expect expect insults. But playing that "be careful I am a female and insulting a female in a Western feminist society is politically incorrect" card doesn't gain my respect when in fact he was just discussing the issues involved and was even careful to indicate he wasn't accusing you.

Whose fault it is that your account got hacked. Probably yours.

Posting a video of your cleavage doesn't absolve you of your responsibility. Charge it to experience.

Good job man. i for one sorry i was a bit harsh on you but it's a sense of community, you know? this place will be overrun with noone even knowing who anyone is anymore if we support the practice of buying and selling accounts, and are not hard on those associated with it.
Build your account, friend, get to know people, they will get to know your name too as you are involved in things.
Remember there's alot more here then ways to make free money, trust me the PEOPLE you will meet will help you with the money you seek in time ;)
my best profits came from investments bounced off other Crypto people i have met here, and i have never NEEDED a sig campaign because of it. ;)

Good to see your account restored Cassie.   I would take this as a security lesson, tho i think the scare will remind you! heehee

^^ you should stake a new bitcoin address.
Do the following as suggested. These 100 posts were unnecessary (at best).[Retracted]; Please lock the thread in case that all of your problems have been resolved in order to avoid future signature spam.

Update 1:
Actually it was an interesting foray into the hacked account situation.
-snip-
I never said that all of the posts were useless.

Update 2:
On a tad bit of a power trip are we?
Would someone on a 'power trip' say please?

Is answering three different post in a single post efficient enough for ya?
Please don't get offended by any of my responses to you as I am just off my meds for a while.;D ;D ;D
Anything under 9000 is not efficient enough (and no, I don't get offended). :D

Update 3: Retracted some things in hopes of clarifying my original intent.
Why would someone decide to come in at the end of the thread and say it was useless, I'm not sure.
I never said that the thread is useless. I have retracted the statement if that makes the situation better; The idea behind it, and what I want, is to avoid is create a play-field for signature spam. This is why I'm asking OP to please lock this thread (if everything was resolved).

Actually it was an interesting foray into the hacked account situation.  We had some open and honest discussion from the buyer of the hacked account and the original owner.  We got to see how the mind of an account buyer operates and a lot of people weighed in with their support and opinions for both sides.  All in all it was a rather exciting thread.

...and it ended in resolution!  A bonus.  Never happens.

16K7dX8QWaxiuEcE9jpCF8ecSYdcWmLN7X

so if you sign that one i think all should be restored?

hmm doesnt look like either address has been used tho.. why would anyone stake an unused address..

Sure her eyes you were meaning I am sure  ;)
That's the first thing that I noticed too   ;D

I am glad you got back your account Cassie. You look too sweet to deceive anyone.
But I am a fool for those eyes of yours too I guess.

^^ you should stake a new bitcoin address.
Do the following as suggested and lock the thread please. These 100 posts were unnecessary (at best).

Update:
Actually it was an interesting foray into the hacked account situation.  We had some open and honest discussion from the buyer of the hacked account and the original owner.  We got to see how the mind of an account buyer operates and a lot of people weighed in with their support and opinions for both sides.  All in all it was a rather exciting thread.
...and it ended in resolution!  A bonus.  Never happens.
I never said that all of the posts were useless, I've used the number 100 due to the page number that this is on. While I'm certain that you find this interesting, it could have been done more 'efficiently.

There is no Efficiency when you are angry, frustrated, confused and feeling betrayed.

This young Lady was justified in her Original post and EVERY SINGLE COMMENT afterwards. Including yours Lauda.

I would be a Raging too if someone STOLE my account.....It's frustrating the hoops yo have to jump through when this happens. But unfortunately it's necessary to keep the forum fair.

There was a hack of the forum about a year ago.   I went to this https://www.grc.com/haystack.htm (https://www.grc.com/haystack.htm) and it says that the password used by Cassie here could be cracked in less than eleven hours.   Since the forum database was hacked and thus the hashes lost it falls into the offline attack scenario.  Change your password in the other places immediately Cassie.

You should use digits,  letters of both cases and there should be twelve of them.   I use 64,  because I have to copy and paste them anyway.   I can't remember three good passwords.  I was working on some kind of signature login system for SMF.   PM me if any of you want to help with code or funds.

@Lauda

On a tad bit of a power trip are we?

You're kinda of starting to remind me of the Spongebob Squarepants episode where Mrs. Puff made Spongebob a hall monitor LOL

(If you're unfamiliar with it ask Saltyspitoon about it)

Now so that you don't get all twisted that this post is inefficient or off topic let me add...

@cassieheart aka supposed hacker

I really don't care how you acquired it.

Contact me PM and name your price.

I will buy it from you.

@SDP

You're suggestion is an excellent start!

@Lauda (2nd response)

Is answering three different post in a single post efficient enough for ya?

Please don't get offended by any of my responses to you as I am just off my meds for a while.

 ;D ;D ;D

I think most of the posts were necessary and Lauda tends to have a condescending tone in most of the posts I have seen. Its off putting, but he/she/they put out a lot of information and can be helpful so I try to ignore the tone and chalk it up to being "overworked" or spending too much time on this forum. Why would someone decide to come in at the end of the thread and say it was useless, I'm not sure. I can assure you I learned something and hopefully others did as well.

This would be a good idea! Its also a good idea to not use the same password on other sites...

Having your passwords flowing through your clipboard (copy/paste) is usually never a good idea.

If you are not typing in 12 character passwords,  in each login and you want an alternative we have three options we can do without helpfrom the server.
  • save in a file and use copy and paste
  • save in  a browser
  • use a detecated password minder program

The first option is criticized for the use of the clipboard but there needs to be malware running that can open the clipboard for that information.   Javascript cannot normally get access to the clipboard (it needs to get permission).  Browsers always have bugs.  We can imagine a bug that might allow malicious code to open the clipboard.   It is always possible.

A browser can keep your password for you and also your password minder software.  It is important to have a backup though.

It was defiantly thrilling lol I can say that at least. I think we all learned a lesson here #1 Don't ever get comfortable with your online security especially in the Crypto community. #2 There are still allot of good Guys/Girls left here #3 Boobs are awesome ;)

Now if I could just find a decent Flex/Flash developer to help me out I would be all set ...

For security, your account has been locked. Email acctcomp15@theymos.e4ward.com .

I sent multiple email's to Email acctcomp15@theymos.e4ward.com  and also pm'ed a  signed message to Theymos .
Why is it that support is so horrible on bitcointalk do they not have enough funding to maintain or?

It is low on priority. Since you already know what it takes to recover your account, just have patience and keep PMing.
There are only a couple of people with the ability to recover accounts and that is not dependent on the funding of this forum.

The admins are busy, and have better things to do than fix problems which (most of the time) were caused by the users themselves.
