Are there countries that do not accept Bitcoin? I mean no idea regarding it. What do you think will happen to Bitcoin 5years from now? I'm not asking you to be a psychic to see the future. I'm asking about your idea about Bitcoin's future. TIA!

Well as I know the last time I checked, Russia banned Bitcoin and there are for sure many more that don't like the currency at all and that is because the bitcoin is created to replace the banking system... Anyway as you can see, the block chain technology is going stronger and stronger everyday - even if people do not understand the Bitcoin technology, it is meant to be the currency of the future, so 5 years from now I think there will be much more people using it and eventually most of the countries that didn't adopt it will be forced to do so ;)

I think North Korea not using and accept bitcoin. Bitcoin for the next 5 years, i think bitcoin will get more popular on that years and many people are using bitcoin.

Bitcoins are banned in 4 countries Russia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuado while it's accepted by China, Brazil, the Isle of Man, Jersey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. My country India is still monitoring its use and it's still not considered legal in any country. If any Government plans to accept this currency, we can see it as a legal form of currency just like dollars and euros. I don't think it can happen in the next 1-2 years.

Not accepted in local exchanger doesn't mean bitcoin is banned on that country as it is decentralized so no any government can stop you from using bitcoin. But exchanging them to your currency could be pain in the back if they not allow such transaction.

If you're smart enough you can probably get away with all the government rules and still use bitcoins.
1.Use a VPN for all your transactions.

2.Find local exchanges and bitcoin earners around your area or country.

3.Ask them for any services and pay them in bitcoins .Like ask them to buy you something online and pay them in bitcoins.You could easily exchange the bitcoins this way.There is no need of a legal exchange or a service to exchange coins.If you have a number of bitcoiners around,you can fuck the government in their butt!

While its banned in those countries, it is still a grey area in a lot of countries, in which you can possibly get into trouble if they believe you are doing something illegal with it.

Even in countries where its banned, it shouldn't be a problem owning it as the police in any of those countries will probably not know what it is.

You shall not think of countries. There are places where BTC is popular, and others where it's not, but both places can be within the same borders, and that's normal. BTC acceptance was never supposed to grow everywhere at the same speed.

You should not think of countries, because it's the people who accept Bitcoin or not. Even if in a country Bitcoin is forbidden by shortsighted legal arbitrariness, people may still accept it. Banning Bitcoin is not easy. Basically countries can try to prevent the fiat-bitcoin exchange, but to prevent Bitcoin-only transactions is quite difficult.

Bitcoin will succeed not because governments approve it. It will succeed because people want to own it. People want to own Bitcoin, because it is an innovative and stable currency outside of the central bank interventionist world. The interest in Bitcoin is especially pronounced in countries with weak inflationary national currencies. Owning Bitcoin is a hedge against inflation and erratic monetary policy. bitcoin is banned in Russia but that does not stop anyone from using it there.

It seems that governments, Banks and other corporations are not too fan of Bitcoin, but they do love the blockchain. So, there's a slight chance that the list of countries banning bitcoin could become larger 5 years from now.

I think countries that attempt to ban bitcoin will only fall behind as the internet adopts it.  Those countries that 'ban' it won't stop people from using it necessarily, but rather will stop exchanges from being created.

I am from russia. The fate of the Russian Bitcoin is not yet determined. All I can say is, Russia is ruled by washed-imbeciles have no special professional education, and these thugs sitting in the government because they are someone's friends or relatives of government (neofeudalism). So Bitcoin oche authorities are concerned, namely, its decentralized, anonymous, and the inability to control and impossible to steal the interest on the transaction. They are sick paranoia, and so they want to control everything and everywhere.

In this article it's mentioned what are the charges files against any bitcoin exchanger. Russia basically banned it considering it an illegal way of exchanging bitcoins for their own currency and they relate it to illegal trades. They can't find the source of earning bitcoins and hence it's a reason.

There are famous online shopping sites like Walmart and Steam that have started accepting bitcoin payments and soon we can see Amazon, Ebay as well accepting bitcoins which would create a curiousity among buyers/sellers to use it.

It's already considered an international currency and till it's not considered illegal in US and UK, we should worry about it.

I do not know what country who are not adopted bitcoin, in 5 years i see the bitcoin will be more profitable, more people will use it and more business accepting payment using bitcoin.

Bitcoin has a some project for his future like Lightning Network (LN). Better to bitcoin if he can join with some country to make a legal institution for Bitcoin and have  same usefulness with the bank, it will make bitcoin have a healthy future.

I think almost all countries around the world is already accepted bitcoins as legal crypto currency except some country like russia that bitcoin has been banned i think because of abusing it's features when it comes to transactions  and using it for illegal things.But besides that i think almost all counry is accepting bitcoins as legal crypto currency.5 years from nownif bitcoin would be still alive i think it will be one of our fiat currency too.

in my opinion it doesn't matter if a few countries don't accept bitcoin as a real currency or even if they don't allow usage by the businesses (obviously it is better if they do but) since bitcoin is for people and a p2p money anybody can still use it without any problem.

bitcoin developments in the world today has been very good. almost all of the region know of the existence bitcoin. even big countries have to enter bitcoin to headline news in the country. bicoin will be greater later. bitcoin very bright future. and we are part of the reformer.

I think Russia has banned bitcoin. But Japan is exploring the possibilities to make it legal. But most of the other countries do not bother and till the time they do not bother, it is a good thing for bitcoin.

Till the time it remains unregulated by a national power, bitcoin will flourish. But if countries starts to make it legal and start taxing on it, bitcoin will be ruined to death.

If this does not happen, I see a very bright future for bitcoin.

all i can say to this is that it is not bad for it.
but of course it is best if bitcoin is known and being accepted all over the worlds so that anybody can use it and if you for example travel someplace else you can still use bitcoin without the need to exchange your money to the local fiat of that country.

As you can see now you see that Bitcoin is becoming more worth and more used so that is nice for the currency itself and for people who already have Bitcoin.
We have to make Bitcoin more acceptable so it will be more used and spend and that should be perfect for the currency.

Bitcoin as a payment method worldwide is final goal, but to get there Bitcoin must be able to process much higher amount of transactions, and this mean further technical development must come before further Bitcoin adoption can ever happen.

The good thing is lighting network / thunder as possible scaling solution is in the very active development and in one or two years we can have answer whether it is good enought solution to scale Bitcoin to much more people, because today Bitcoin basically reached its limits, blocks full most of the time and no way to send much more transactions now.

but if you are looking for countries that haven't even heard about bitcoin i don't think there is any because news about bitcoin has even reached the third world countries and they are even using it even if it is only using faucets.

I think the price of bitcoin after 5 years will be higher atleast 2x from now because after 4 years from now the next halving will happen on the month of july.

There are still a lot of countries that do not accept and some are banning it ,but the future is very bright for bitcoin we'll see it one of the top online currency maybe in the next five years the future is bright for crypto currency..

I think BTC will get known worldwide and already happening, the price of BTC will increase to tremendously and also unthinkable values. You can pay everything and anywhere using BTC if this coins succeed in the next 5 years or earlier to that also.

Im confused  ???.   Anyway five years from now, i think bitcoin will evolve to more user friendly, easiest to access cryptocurrency.  User friendly application will be develop, where even our grandma's and grandpa's have easier access on receiving and spending Bitcoin.  Lots of local store will accept it as mode of payment too.

yes it is a fact bitcion is a worldwide crypto currency and now it is growing more. as more and more poeple are entering the world of bitocin and they are investing their money here. so we can say that bitocin is going to be the best online crypto currency of the world.

Its growing more for sure, but it has not reached worldwide yet, and to reach there it will take some more time as many are not aware about bitcoin and if they know they don't know how to use it or earn it.

Since is not tied only to one country or financial institution Bitcoin is "free" currency and thus a worldwide currency. So every man in very corner of the world can use it. The problem is that is still not available to everyone for different reasons.

I would personally say that most countries have at least someone who uses Bitcoin, or at least a majority of the relatively developed countries and probably a good portion of African countries (and South American countries if you think they aren't relatively developed). There are people that don't know about Bitcoin, yes, but a worldwide phenomenon doesn't mean that everyone everywhere knows about it, albeit a large amount of people should be aware of it for it to be classed as such. Bitcoin doesn't need to be global in the same sense, but that's just my opinion.

Yes, there are several countries where the bitcoin is banned, and unfortunately it seems really likely that we could see an increasing number of countries banning it because of the increasing popularity of the bitcoin, which could affect the interests of the real owners of the world, like banks and corporations. And in five years I would like to see a stronger bitcoin, although I can't foresee a price beyond $2000.

Many countries are there which may not even be knowing about bitcoins, so acceptance is not an alternative. This thing needs to get exposed first before talking about acceptance.

Almost all of the countries use bitcoin even the ones that have banned it, there are users there who still uses bitcoin no matter that the government of that country have ban bitcoin. I am sure only in Cuba the land forgotten by time they still don't use bitcoin there, also in North Korea where internet is limited to only 600 persons who all work for the government (some of them may use it but no one can dare to do anything in North Korea or you risk to get dead soon enough by capital punishment there) , so I can say bitcoin is worldwide yet, but not mainstream, and for it to be mainstream a few more years are needed.

We are still at the starting age of Bitcoin. Considering the fast growth and popularity of Bitcoin from the previous years, Bitcoin will definitely reach a lot more people or country in the future. :)

I don't think there is any country that has not idea bout bitcoin because these days even in the worst country in the world there is internet and there are many people who lurk around in the internet and they will eventually hear about bitcoin somehow.

but bitcoin being used widely is another story. there are only a handful of countries that have a large number of users who know about bitcoin and are using it and there are actually services online and offline that accept bitcoin in these countries. and these are mostly developed countries which are advanced in technology.

It is very hard to predict. There are a lot of threads about this and most of them say the exact same answer. To me, I have a feeling bitcoin would go in either 3 ways:

worth a fortune
worth absolutely nothing
a dead cryptocurrency

I think bitcoin as of now is not world wide because some countries are bitcoin restricted and its illegal using bitcoin.. i just heard it here and google..

Governments can block Bitcoins, especially those who do not like things like this.
But even if they block the network to their citizens, they can use VPN to access.
So, I do not think to block Bitcoin can fix the problem.
For now, I know no country that has publicly blocked Bitcoin, north korea blocks all Internet.
But if the Bitcoin start to be used for illegal activities, it can be blocked in many countries.

It actually what was primarily used for illegal activities way back when bitcoins is not as popular as it has become now. I remember checking the dark web for some cheap items and I see that many sellers are accepting bitcoins as payment.

yup,used by terrorist or used for illegal activity will not make bitcoin lost it fan or make people think negative about bitcoin,nowdays people have better view on media statement,and not all media trusted,so  i think people have their own view about bitcoin if used for illegal activity. its only matter of time for bitcoin to become more worldwide.

yes it is a fact that bitcoin is now a worldwide currency and it still getting its position more stable. it is the most premier time of bitcoin it is one the best crypto currency of the world and i think the price of bitcoin is now more high than any other crypto currency and still people are willing to buy and invest their money here in bitocin.

The list of country that banned bitcoin had been commented by the  previous poser so I won't be repeating it here.  Anyway, I think bitcoin will be more popular after 5 years, more people and company will adopt it as secondary if not primary mode of payment as currency.  There will be more local store that will accept it too, so people will have easier access to goods with bitcoin.

Yea there was some country not allowed bitcoin because they said bitcoin is the terrorists source of fund, in the next 5 years bitcoin will be develop and adapt in many countries and it will be the most popular coin for web transaction and hopefully the price can keep rising

Bitcoin worldwide have been getting more and more popularity as the high potential digital currency among most digital currencies that have existed. Also usage among people too getting increased as it seems to be a better investment as well an earning source.

every day bitcoin exists is a good day. with every day of bitcoin existing, it becomes safer. by that i mean in a sens that you can say: hey bitcoin is now around for xx years. do you really thing it is going to stop existing tomorrow? sure there might be somekind of bug or whatever, but at this point it is unlikely. just as nobody would think that NASDAQ or the internet is going down. bitcoin is not going down in the near future.

I didnt realise there was a list with top ten countries that have banned bitcoin. Even if these countries didnt ban bitcoin i still find it a bit dissapointing that user adoption for a worldwide availible currency is still so low, I wonder at times if we are actually even growing with new investors coming on board or if its just the same people from a select few countries who are buying bitcoin in speculation over and over and in turn spending that bitcoin on other altcoins also.

For the moment there are some countries that are not allowed bitcoin because they say that bitcoin is source terrorist funding . Maybe by me within 5 to 10 years bitcoin will develop and adapt in some countries or could Do all countries, and it will be the most popular coins for web transactions .

But I think it also depends on the market demand. I see that the growth of the bitcoin very rapidly in 2016 and it could allow that bitcoin will be increasingly in the estimate in the next year and it is possible that there are companies or countries that adopt or accept bitcoin as their currency

I think there are some country that banned bitcoin and some have strict regulation.  But in 5 years im thinking that this country will learn about bitcoin and will be open for the bitcoin to be traded.  Bitcoin can be use as secondary payment for every transaction.

Russia banned Bitcoin, North Korea banned internet, so it kind of makes using Bitcoin impossible there. Even if you could use Bitcoin there, Bitcoin would not spread enough to be a worldwide currency in just 5 years. Sure, we will have many users in almost every country, but it wont be accepted by goverment and probably so.e people wont accept it out of lack of knowledge.

Russia banned bitcoin so what ? Do you think no one in Russia don't uses bitcoin now ? It's not the case cause there are a few tools like Tails an OS based on Linux which is pre customized to by pass this kind of restriction , also there exists something called VPN which can bypass the IP in Russia. In the end its not that hard to mix your coins in a mixing service.

I dont think that is way too long. Bitcoin is crawling up, there are falls but those are like necessary to see its real value. Think of the incidents that happened. Everytime a big wallet exchange falls it also creates a movement in bitcoin. This is what value really is, but it goes back up. It never goes down then down again. Hard to explain but the reality is it will just go up more in 5 years

Yes there are many countries who don't accept bitcoin like here in my country bitcoin is not accepted, i have to convert my bitcoins in local currency that is accepted in my country's stores. And bitcoin will have very good future, too many people attracted towards bitcoin day by day and many companies and people investing their money in bitcoin.

I don't really think it matters if a country bans bitcoin or not as it will not stop people using it due to bitcoin being bitcoin it would be near to impossible to 'ban' bitcoin.  They could make it very difficult to cash out your bitcoin but banning it completely I don't see that happening 100%.

5 years time we could possibly be where we are now but with more bitcoin in circulation and the mining reward being smaller, I tend to lean more towards bitcoin being in a similar position to what it is now price wise but with a lot more awareness/adoption.

Bitcoin is not banned in Russia.They tried to do it in the past, and it made bitcoin even more popular that before. Also I doubt they'd be able to enforce bitcoin ban anyway.

Even if they bann it how can they prevent people from using it? Especially russian hackers.  ;) And governement or any other agency just can't control everything.

For now there are still a lot of country hasnt accepting and adopting bitcoin and some of the country even planned to ban bitcoin, but even like that i still see a great future of bitcoin where we can buy things easily in local store by scanning barcode using our android and the payment is using bitcoin

In my country bitcoin is a fairy tale or some other irony word. I am one of the very few citizens of my country who knows something about it and is using it. If it goes such way than maybe that in 5 years I may be one of many to use bitcoins in my country similarly the facebook was in our country.

The lesser the opportunity in real life, ordinary people would always resort to online earning, this is their chance to earn, so even if the government would ban and prohibit the use of bitcoin, if they can't  provide jobs for their citizens, then ordinary people would go on online earnings... With that, I think adoption would naturally occur... Anyway, there are still places in the world that internet is not widely used...

I believe that Bitcoin is already worldwide currency, even if some governments tried to ban it, it will be hard for them to stop their citizens from using, earning and exchange Bitcoin into fiat

There aren't actually all that many countries that have out-right banned Bitcoin yet, I think a majority of them are Eastern countries and then there's Iceland I know of for sure. Most other countries are indifferent or are in favor of Bitcoin from what I know, but I don't know a whole lot so I can't say anything with 100% certainty.

I think no, because even tho most of the people in that country don't know what is Bitcoin. Some of them or even 1 of them must know about it, because all countries in this world certainly have access to the internet.

Your probably right, and more useable Bitcoin is what really matters. Compare Bitcoin today and price hype in 2013, Bitcoin is much more useable today, but the price is not much different from year 2013 (200-1200?). So as long as Bitcoin awareness and adoption is even better in the next years, Bitcoin can only get better no matter what price people going to exchange the Bitcoin for.

I've heard somewhere that using bitcoin in Bangladesh in prohibited, i don't know the reason why it is so but i just heard about it and never tried to find out though.

   Well I don't know for any country that accept bitcoin as currency. I think bitcoin is still just for network, and there isn't  government that accepted or make some regulations about bitcoins. Just a lot of talking about it, and moving that topic for some future times.
   If bitcoin continue to be accepted by the people around the world in next five years, like it was case in last five years, everyone who didn't pay attention on bitcoin will regret. Bitcoin needs to be censored, illegal. Governments never accepted such things. Why is it a bad idea for them? It's secure, anonymous and easy to earn. There are no taxes either. They wouldn't make it legal and a currency worldwide unless they're going to find a way to censor and supervise every user that is using it.

Actually, that's not true. Here where I live we must pay tax over our Bitcoin holdings and profits. Holding Bitcoin is seen as being part of our wealth, just like you hold stocks for example. So yes, Bitcoin does get taxed.

Well one of two things will happen. Either bitcoin will be accepted around the world, the whole world, as your everyday currency or it will be taken down by unaccepting  governments or it will just be overtaken by another online currency.

Bitcoin becoming a currency that's used by most everyone is still a long way to go. Even the most tech advanced countries are not that big supporters of bitcoin. How much more the less privileged and third world countries where technology isn't the priority of ordinary people.

I think there are three options for Bitcoin in any country:

1. The use of it might be called illegal by the government.

2. The government might just ignore its use.

3.  The government might encourage its use.

I think all the countries of the world are going from #1 to #3, slowly but steadily.

I remember that Thailand banned Bitcoin during Bitcoin's early days. The removed the ban and add in a few restrictions sometime later.

I remember that Russia completely banned Bitcoin. I heard a news recently that they are lifting the ban - but still add some restrictions.

In five years time, I see a world with a lot of countries acknowledging Bitcoin but with a few restrictions here and there. Just that. Simply because Bitcoin can become the next world-first currency.

As far as I know, as long as the government don't ban bitcoin, then it is not illegal, and even if bitcoin was  not legalized by the government on where you live it is still good, but I doubt it that you are only few in that country that use bitcoin, most of us don't really share exact information,.. I don't think that any government anywhere would legalize and/or legitimize  an online currency especially a large currency such as bitcoin. It would put too great a power into people that own bitcoin. This would also put great power into the maker of bitcoin who gave himself 1million bitcoin.

Instead of waiting for other people to bring, why not you start your own bitcoin start ups. Most probably you can gain more profits if you are first for any kind of business which involves bitcoin.

After I read the history of the post he came from the same country as me. I doubt the percentage he gave, because I think bitcoin users in Indonesia was quite a lot. As I read the article, the only legal currency in Indonesia is RUPIAH. So I do not expect the government will legalize bitcoin. Indonesia is one of the most widely using bitcoin (according to my research). Indonesia is also one of the countries which did not prohibit the bitcoin and everyone using bitcoin must bear all that will occur (loss, theft, etc) and the Government will not be responsible for it all. This is a good thing but also not profitable if negative things entered into our lives

They will monitor bitcoin? Into what? Using it or making it illegal in your country? I have read the Bangladesh heist which is a really large money that have been hacked in Bangladesh bank. But those money are still detected and knew where it gone too.

I think a lot of people Promote HYIP, CLOUDMINING with their referrals, and in my opinion not just Indonesian. I think almost all people from around the world is do that. yes there are still some countrys who still do not accept bitcoins maybe thwy have high ego or they are simply afraid of it or they theing they are too genious for this but its just they are fooling themself

Im sure you underestimate the number of people who heard about Bitcoin, you never seen Bitcoin mentioned in the news? Your percentage might be the number of people actually using the Bitcoin in your country, but I doubt the big news like MtGox collapse did not hit the news in your country back then. Also check some internet news servers in your language, I doubt Bitcoin is not mentioned there once in a while (bank blockchains articles).

Not every country has banks that care about the blockchain though, and that means that chances are it won't be publicized at all, especially if it is a poorer country or a country that doesn't have a ton of financial institutions. There's probably more than 0.001% of people using Bitcoin (or at least have heard of bitcoin) in his country, but it won't necessarily be though the means you mentioned.

Yeah, because bitcoin is still brand new currency and could fluctuate fastly, not stable yet. That could be some reason goverments have to consider. People in worldwide only a few are using btc, we have to share and make bitcoin famous with all of it advantages, many people know and use bitcoin will increase the price and stability. In my country most of the time whenever I see bitcoin in news or read it on the papers its mostly the bad side of bitcoin. They never make news of people donating bitcoin to people who needs it, they never talk about the charities that bitcoin community has.
I believe they think if they make an evil out of this they can sell more papers, to be honest some like wall street journal started that way as well but now they are acting like they know everything and see the benefits but still dislike it.

As long as the population is still growing, there will still be new people to scam. So HYIP, Ponzi and scams will never end. It is a source of easy money for their founder. So no matter where you live, people will ride into ponzi and will promote ponzi because of the greed for money.

It depends on the demand and supply if you are talking about the price. BTC mining is also a factor to be considered as they are the ones who are pumping new BTC in our world. So if another halving will be done expect BTC's price to go higher as BTC will be scarcer and harder to be mined. Simple supply and demand.

Well bitcoin isn't totally accepted in any country (Accepted in every store), but I'm pretty sure at least one person in every country will accept Bitcoin, at least reluctantly.

A problem for a lot of countries. We just have to wait for the big companies adaption and I know it will happen. I might not have the facts but just look at us. Look at steam, look at purse io they are all doing it even with the kmown risk in bitcoin.

It is not really surprising that the government would try to monitor bitcoin movement in their country since bitcoin is kind of a way for tax evasion and we all know that the government wouldn't want that. I guess almost every Government has already started to think about anything similar to 'bit-license' for their country, who knows.

Yup it is possible that it prevents government from crawling up your taxes. Yes it is illegal but when you search all hyip most of them the #1 traffic they get is from Russia. So even tho it is illegal it is evident that many people are still using it and they are getting away with it. 

Once the big companies adopt bitcoin then others will follow through because if big companies are using them then it means there is a potential and profit in bitcoin so other small companies will follow them and the competitors also of other big companies will also use it because they don't want to be left behind and the fear of missing out.When this happens,it would be the start of bitcoin being popular and known especially to people that are not that techie and they would want to be part of the bitcoin world.

on my own opinion, before the big companies adopt bitcoins, it should be adopted by the government first. i think the companies would not want to be affiliated with bitcoin if there is no approval by the government!

I know that Russia banned it in their country. I’m not quite sure of any smaller countries. I think as long as you have access to any of the wallet sites you should be able to buy your own bitcoin, even in secrecy!

i think even though Russia banned bitcoin in their country, there are still lots of Russians being involve in bitcoin in secrecy. they cannot monitor them if they will use some VPN to hide the original IP addresses they are using.

As what happening now in bitcoin, everyday the community still continue growing and more people everday are investing in Bitcoin. So 5years from I think Bitcoin is well know in most of the countries in the entire world. True that now in other country is bitcoin is unknown and never heard, and some they heard it but still refusing and ignored it. But in other countries like Canada, Europe, Australia, China, Russia, and London are much much accepted by Bitcoins.

That's the question came up into my mind actually, as far as I know Russia is one of the country  that I can say their promoting the advantage of bitcoin. Because adopt the system as well in their country and also they have big Bitcoin community over there.

Same things are happening in my country(we may both from same country, LOL) lots of people getting interfered into bitcoin everyday. I know hundreds of blog, website, faucets owners and more than that bitcoin holders from my country.
but to be honest I can't say anything about after 5 years.. there is no any government rules and laws for bitcoin in my country. mean they didn't yet decided to what to do with bitcoin. they may ban bitcoin or they may accept bitcoin.

Bitcoins are getting known wildly everywhere, but it all depends on the mentalities and personalities of people who are willing to accept or deny its use in their lives. But one thing is sure, that everyone at least knows the name of Bitcoin till date, and in the next 5 years, possibly many more countries will join in and come up with more better ideas as to how to make this currency more usable.

yes bitcointalk is the best place to find important information about bitcoin. it is very difficult to explain and invite someone to use bitcoin. one way is to invite him to discuss in this forum. it would be very helpful.

We can expect many things to happen for 5 years, its hard to predict how will future look, we don't even know what price will be in the end of this year.
Only thing we can be sure in is constant grow of bitcoin community, with more people here we can expect more using of bitcoins and that will make btx economy grow, that will reflect on price.
Modern countries already started to accept bitcoins, and with time that will spread on other counties as well.

It can be restricted once the government will take some serious action about all the laws that will covered all the bitcoin thing in that country.

But it doesn't mean people there can't used bitcoin now. It will just minimized because there are regulations. Meaning local exchangers in that country will now be abolished and withdrawing or converting bitcoin in that said country will now have a hard time to do.

Some people in this thread are claiming that Bitcoin isn't available in their country or it is banned in their country. That's kind of foolish and shameless of their government. It's shameless because it just shows how desperate their government wants to get control on every penny that their country men have. It's foolish because Bitcoin is fully anonymous, you can access the Internet anywhere, and you can hide your IP address anytime. If the use of Bitcoin is considered as a cyber crime in your country, you might wanna use VPN to hide your identity.

Even if you hide your IP, you can't convert to your local currency. You still have to use a third party like Payoneer to withdraw your money.

Yes and we are talking about money here. I dont think wallet exchanges will still allow it seeing you got a third party application that will be more crime. Plus there are defenses for that in case of frauds.

Yes its true even how i show my earnings in bitcoin people will not cling to bitcoins. The reason is that they dont know how to really use the net. It problems are the most serious enemy of bitcoins. When people are too ignorant about the computers and internet, how much more about bitcoins. Sometimes even if they know they are just too tired to learn new things and stick to the traditional way of business and earning money.

You mean that in USA and Europe Bitcoin will be equivalent to fiat currencies? Maybe, but 5 years is probably not enough time because banks are still very strongly against the BItcoin. Many rules and laws should be in place before something like this happens.

I know that bitcoin is really accessible worldwide since all you neednto do is browse it on the net but what I'm asking is it's acceptance worldwide. There still lots of countries don't know about bitcoin and some doesn't accept it and even banned it on their country!

Yes it is! there is still countries that do not accept bitcoin, like in my country, only the bitcoin believer we had it now in my country. so far We have one merchant who accepted bitcoin but not in the government.

countries banning bitcoin doesn't mean people won't be able to use their coins. people will always use bitcoin and find ways to cash out or buy themselves some coins. that being said, only a few countries somewhat banned bitcoin, so i am not sure how you come up with "many countries banned bitcoin".

i think the country is not accepting or rejecting bitcoin. many countries don't make statement about bitcoin and this is why bitcoin not accepting by many store except on store online. but for 5 years later, i think bitcoin will be accepted by more people and even for country, because government should be read and know about bitcoins and should learn about this. its just my prediction and i hope its really happen for future.

Some countries banned it, some not recommended it, and some doesn't have any responsibility if you lost your bitcoin by hacked/stolen.
It's all because of bitcoin is decentralized.
And no country or government can give affect on bitcoin market.

Russia have not banned bitcoin. Now government thinks what to do with it. it's prohibited to produce money surrogates by Russian law, but btc itself is not prohibited.

With all these restrictions of bitcoin. I believe bitcoin is still a global currency. in many countries using bitcoin not allowed but people still use bitcoin because it is totally decentralized and govt cant stop people from using of bitcoin.

Yep. Bitcoin has grown very fast being only 7 years since its inception. Being used as a global currency, makes me think that soon we will reach mainstream adoption. I think that the only thing that has prevented Bitcoin from going mainstream, in my opinion, has been governments themselves trying to regulate the purchase and usability of it. There are many countries who don't admit bitcoin include on my country Indonesia but ownership of bitcoin is not illegal activity with own risk , but by the time there are many people who use bitcoin for trading and making investment. nobody can tell the future, so nobody can tell when and if, but bitcoin has a very good technology and you can expect it to be worldwide relevant, if nothing unforeseen happens. there are no guaranties, so all you can do is to bet on your luck or take a calculated risk. bitcoin is such a calculated risk. you can do now two things. 1. believe me. you would be betting on your luck in this case.
2. you could educate yourself about bitcoin. and by that i do not mean to mach a 15 min google research. at least read two books about bitcoin from different authors and then decide if you want to take the risk.   

That is the best thing to do if you really want to earn from using bitcoin. You need to have a better understanding of it. It is just like being a soldier, you need to be well prepared before going to be engage on a war if you want to win it!

same here in my country too.. only few users of bitcoin from my side. but bitcoin is a totally online. so I never faced any problem in spending my bitcoins. we can easily convert bitcoin from every corner of the world to our local currency..

Bitcoin, being a digital currency, is already a worldwide thing. It is just that it is still in its infancy stage and hardly a portion of the world's population has an idea what it is and what it can give them. For me, it is a welcome change in embracing bitcoin as another form of investment and another form of currency, other than the fiat that we have all been using for some time now.

there are plenty of countries already that "forces" people to pay tax over their bitcoin holdings. how countries going to determine who and what needs to pay how much tax? yes, you're right, there is no way for the government to know how much you have, and what kind of profits you have made. but it's quite simple actually. you have to declare your holdings. you can choose to not do it, or just declare a small portion if you really want it. they won't notice whether or not you are being honest.

Indeed, it is banned in some countries but it is not a hindrance. There still who is collecting bitcoin there and sold in some exchanges. Like also in Chine, gthere even bitcoin mining there. Only the government is against it, since they cant taxed from it but they cant stop it from people using it.

I am in one of the least accepted countries worldwide with plenty of economical restrictions and punishments on it and I can use bitcoin normally with no restrictions so that probably answers the question, Few countries did ban there citizens from using Bitcoin but I doubt they can enforce that.

Here in our country, bitcoin is not popular nor been endorsed by the government but there are already bitcoin ATM. our bitcoin wallet provider also allows us to cash out our bitcoin on some money remittance centers and some bank ATM's.

You can but still through cash. You can carry it in different countries in the world but you will still have to look for something like banks that accepts it to cash it out. That will be the harder part.

What if they will make Bitcoin legal and more centralized? I think it is possible if they will create a world wallet just like the world Bank, a wallet wherein every transaction will be charge for processing fees and those collected fees will go the respective national budget of each countries affiliated.

Good idea and I think that can happen. But who will control it? That should be a country who is not known for corruption or just thinking of a bad way to enrich their own country. Who would be satisfied with payments that come from sending fee and transaction fees. They could even take a little fee when buying online but should end with that.

I didn't know that Bolivia banned it. It's sad to see that those countries that would have the most to gain from Bitcoin adoption are rejecting it. Well, it could have something to do with the socialist leadership in such countries, because socialists are the natural enemies of economic freedom. Another factor is the fear of loosing control over monetary policy, when people start to realize that there is a non inflationary alternative to a country's national fiat trash currency.

On the other hand the question is if a Bitcoin ban is really enforceable. There's little the officialdom can do when people choose to use Bitcoin for direct P2P trades.

So I think Bitcoin's future is bright, even if some countries will try to ban it. Within a scenario of high fiat inflation, banning Bitcoin might even be good advertising for the currency by raising awareness of a non-inflationary alternative.

I think one of the reasons why some countries banned bitcoin is because they have no control over it. Their government will not receive any benefits from it because they cannot put some tax and it can also be use on illegal activities because bitcoin is really anonymous and does not require so much information from the users.

The government system avoid using bitcoin so that they can maintain the fiat money as well as political institutions. There are some countries which don't ban bitcoin but don't like to accept it. For example in Argentina bitcoins may be considered money but not legal currency. In turkey bitcoin isn't considered to be electronic money

Each country's government have different views about bitcoin, like in the Philippines there is no buzz about it, the government does not care about bitcoin users even if there is a lot of people who use it. Of course it is a good thing too see as it means it is nothing illegal with it. But yes having a government recognition will helpt bitcoin be accepted in that country.

I think they are against the tradition of financial system where all is centralized and regulated by authorities, and they wanted a change and bitcoin is born.  I agree that bitcoin can be one of the tool or stepping stone to one person's financial freedom  because of the different opportunities it offers.

Yes now many country had already banned bitcoin because of many factors. On the other hand many country have seen potential in bitcoin and had officially adopted bitcoin because bitcoin have lot of potential to make economically rich. In my view bitcoin have a good future and many country who had already banned bitcoin will adopt again.

Not only the poor actually as bitcoin is originally created to help the humanity. It is more rare today than when it is all mined because of the number of bitcoins in circulation.  I think when all bitcoins are mined, miners will still continue to mine because of the transaction fee.  It is either tx fee will be set to higher or the price of bitcoin is really that high that a tx fee can make a miner to ROI and have earning.

Surprised to know that, having no freedom even on internet is something really bad i guess, if you are not free to surf the web then there is no meaning of having internet at all, if all your activities are being controlled or seen by the authorities then you should simply not use it.

What you have mentioned is true, everyone should be given their rights of using internet upon their own requirement. At the same we are in a society where people from different culture and mentality live. So if we go without limitations and regulations upon internet usage our generations might be one who gets affected.

There are several companies making a live from online sells, and with their products and services, but i do believe those people are forced to pay taxes to their country, something that with bitcoin we dont need, atleast not now, and if they tax, i do hope they follow the concept of bitcoin thats low cost for high service.

Bitcoin worldwide has improved the life of many persons. Mainly persons from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afganistan and alike countries. I know this from personal experience as I have a few friends which I have met online and they are all thrilled what bitcoin have done for them. Especially people from India who are very talented with computers and have great computer skills but unfortunately the work market there is very small. So with bitcoin, faucets, solving captchas, ptc , gpt etc they are making up to 3-4 USD per day which there makes a difference.

I think The best way that we can plan with bitcoin is we have to keep support it by still using it fo a currency. If we still do this thing bitcoin will always life. My country is the first to introduce bitcoin atm, my government is one of the first to encourage the use of btc. HOwever, things are not starting well with us. After placing a btc atm at popular spot, it was later shift to a quiet place because no one use it even when the flow of human is great at the shopping mall. N there is no shop here that support btc.

The banks across the globe are virtually one and same and they have been government eyes in monitoring and controlling people's finances, but the emergence of bitcoin puts a check or limit on that and that a source for concern for the authorities and they are trying to fight it with the power. but the people are the ones that really owns the power, so globally their failure is imminent, the increasing acceptance of bitcoin is already to late to stop.

There are some exchanges (especially in CHina) which do not charge fees for Bitcoin trades.
The volumes at these exchanges is not reliable. You could have people trading with themselves and pushing up volumes.

I agree that many people are now using people worldwide but we cannot ignore the fact that there are still countries that not accept bitcoin and some even banned it in their countries. And also, there even to those countries with many bitcoin users, not all citizens there know about bitcoin.

Bitcoin is accepted on the PHILIPPINES but the government here did not introduce people to bitcoin, only non government people introduce it to us. Yes those some are reasons why bitcoin has not reached most of the public due to censorship and limited or no access to internet. But to some people its just the opposite even without the censorship of the government and they also have best internet access their loyalty to traditional currency, investment and business has left their heart close to learn and accept bitcoins. Illegal activities are rampant using bitcoin and the government thinks that to stop this problem is to ban bitcoin in their country. China on the other hand though they experience tax evasions and money laundering using bitcoin they have found ways how to stop it and continue to do bitcoin business.

I don't think that there are any countries which which don't know about bitcoin , but still there are some countries which do not accept bitcoin , these are those countries who banned the bitcoin payment in their country and declare as bitcoin is illegal , the recent example for such countries is Russia .
I didn't forget even at this current this , that when Russia banned bitcoin then the price goes very down and resulted into my loss of bitcoin price of about 30$ .
Well the bitcoin is really have the feature of more secure than bank , so probably its future is much bright then bank money .

Several bitcoin enthusiasts who have been good in market movements have predicted bitcoin to be the technology which is gonna change the world for the better. Also several people here hesitate just because it fluctuates. Several bitcoin giants have put forth statements that the first to come in bitcoin will be the first to be successful.

It's the matter of connectivity. A majority of the citizens in such countries are still below the poverty line so as of now, bitcoin is far away from them. I think it will take some time for bitcoin or any cryptocurrency to build user base in such countries but just like the spread of mobile phone, bitcoin will gain popularity over the time.

Currently, there is no country that has recognized bitcoin as a legal tender but in the USA there have been some pronouncements in court cases about recognising it as a currency but that does not necessarily means money. Also recently Israel agree to recognise it as property among other specifics to individual countries but that does means its not accepted as we have so many exchangers that accepts and then convert to Fiat. In the future, I see more challenges coming from government because of the fact if they are unable to track the movement of bitcoin, then they will capitalise on the issue of money laundering, terrorism financing to wage a war against bitcoin.

Modern countries already started to accept bitcoins, and with time that will spread on other counties as well.
But it can be restricted once the government will take some serious action about all the laws that will covered all the bitcoin thing in that country.

I agree that once bitcoin can be restricted by the government, the verification of identity when creating bitcoin wallet will be more difficult than to what we have today but for the government to have a laws that restricting bitcoins, I thing it will take more years because as we all know, making laws is not that easy because there are many reviews and senate hearing that it needs to undergo before being announced in the public.

Like Starbucks , it is a very big company/ industry and it accepting bitcoin
is a very good thing for bitcoin.
Even Steam has started accepting bitcoin .
All these things show that bitcoin has a bright future.
Slowly MCD , KFC and many more will start accepting Bitcoin.

With the current acceptance I do not think that the adoption is slow as the companies you have mentioned will convince much more companies to adopt bitcoin I am sure that till the coming 5 years bitcoin will be on more than half of the world.

Although we are doing it slowly this are really big steps into becoming one of the best online currencies. Well, we cant deny it, this world is getting better with technologies. Almost 90 percent of people do have a smartphone which could easily access the internet. KFC is a worldwide fastfood so it would really spread so fast with this adoption.

No matter whether countries ban Bitcoin or not. It can still be used from anywhere throughout world. Now coming to future of Bitcoin. 5 years is short for any project but at least not for Bitcoin. It will be absurd if I make any assumption regarding price but still I can make following assumption-
1. Bitcoin use will raise 20x times or even more.
2. Price will rock, obviously.
3. China continue to Reign its supply. India will also become new superpower in Bitcoin's supply.
4. Many potential countries will emerge with use of Bitcoin and Bitcoin will be trading in these countries on premium 10-20% more than global price like China and India at the moment.

As we know Bitcoin is the digital currencies but there have many countries you must be found some are banned bitcoin and others could not find the legal status of bitcoin still undefined.Bitcoin is the direct treads most of countries central bank.Obvious next five years bitcoin will a strong position cause nowadays,popularity of bitcoin is upper mood.

There are countries that does not accept bitcoin, because we all know that bitcoin transaction is anonymous so some countries were afraid that it can use for illegal purpose and that other countries have a problem with the fact theat the currency is not based of a traditional laws regarding regulation of currency and can result to global financial systems.
