what!?!? Started pump&dump or started natural growth??

there are a million threads on this already, rather contribute to those than making a new thread.

My understanding is that very quickly on Saturday LOTS of Chinese started buying BTC.  Makes me wonder if anything serious is going on over there.

Seems like natural growth as support level at 600$ seem strong now may be effect of umcoming halving.

yeah this is just a natural growth of bitcoin and i think more price will come because block halving is nearly done the same as before.. if you don't follow the good path you can not make a good profit.. better to buy bitcoins too and i think we will see the price will hit too in 700 value this month..

It is news to do with the financial situation in the EU.
So, It only made sense since they announced it then it started to spike upwards that fast.

You do have to wonder if someone is just maliciously trying to raise the price knowing fine well that because of the upcoming halving people will think its not a pump and therefore buy into it. If that is the case then its going to be one hell of a dump.

Bitcoin price already crossed $662 now, i think before or closer with halving, bitcoin price would cross $700. lets see whats happen...

We should also look at the market depth and how solid the support for current price. I think we should let it calm down for a few days...

BTW it just went from (bitstamp) 683 down to 664 and then 670... still a very thin support between buy and sell prices.

Hmm lets see. Im rather excited about it, I also think that before halving there will be a huge dump that will touch 550$ again, then it will skyrocket above 700$. Just my prediction though.

Why is everyone freaking out with the price?

The halving can come in soon and I do not know what the price is going to be after that. The price is not even above $600 and I did not expe3ct this to happen at all. It can all change tho after the halving.

Everyone is hoping that the value of Bitcoin will rise for a long time and that is logic because they can see now that they can earn some money soon with it.
And that is nice if that is possible for them because they already waited a long time for it so that is important.

Already crossed the 700 mark and still increasing ,,this happening is what we call "profit" weve waited for this for a very very long time,, the long wait is over..

the current price is already above the 700 USD. Very nice improvement over the past week. bitcoin will experience a major increase. welcomes halving and halving have occurred when the price of bitcoin will be getting crazy and we were lucky to have bitcoin.

Because the halving hasn't even started yet and everyone has been wondering what is causing this price surge so unexpectedly. But I am worried what will happen if the Chinese start selling back after the halving. If we have a pump upon the moment of the halving and the Chinese feel like selling the Bitcoin bubble will burst prematurely and we will be back to where we started which no one would like with the halved block reward.

I think its natural, halving is close and many people trade with coins now. We can expect to grow a bit more for sure, question is how much?
My opinion is simple, we will hit some big number, like over 1000 $ and then it will fall back. Where it fall back it will be natural grow and if then price be above 650 $ then all this was natural, for me that is logical. But I`m not an expert, I just like to fallow prices and to think what can we see next. My gambling mind always try to predict something, and to calculate odds.
Lets hope we will stay somewhere high after all this crazy ride.

Current jump of price is because of halving but  I am not sure until what time it continues to increasing but it is possible that it increases till halving.

Yeah, when I saw it today I couldn't believe my own eyes. 706$ is something that definitely didn't expect could happen so soon. I predicted in November that Bitcoin will be around $500 in the Summer 2016, but this ... Wow! )

There are many reasons beside halving why BTC price is skyrocketing now, just learn to look for the clues. Major factor is of course Chinese speculators and depositors trying to invest in BTC.
But we have some US based reasons behind recent +$650 bitcoin pump (pessimistic job report, downbeat FOMC statements) - that is why BTC price is so high.

Yes that is possible because of the chinese investors who are in panic selling but we also need to make sure to sell our coins first before the chinese sell their coins because if they will sell their coins first and it will result to the price to fall.

I think as soon as we reach $900 that the selling pressure will burn through the buy support preventing it from touching $1000 before the block halving.

Im not shocked bro bitcoins reaching $620 mark.Because im expecting it on this halving that it will slowly rise up and then dump then rise.Just like what happened last halving 2012 even tho im not using bitcoins that time.

Yes, both the Pump and dump will be high. We have to be ready for both the situations good and bad. People are happy now that price is increasing but we have to wait for the time when price of bitcoins will start to decline. It will create a lot of selling pressure and people would be panic selling their coins. the bitcoin halving drama is yet to come  ;)

Keep in mind its only 28 more days left I think, last time I checked.

So we got loads of time still in my view. But its pretty much going to bench the $1k marker by the time after the halving is done.

This is just my estimate since we punch 200 price points added within that last week or so.

Yes this seem to be acheived because even after this huge 200 price pump this week we haven't seen any dip in the price which shows the buying force action in bitcoin.

Exactly anything is possible before we reach to the halving, either price will go higher or lower as of today we saw price has gone lower so its difficult to predict anything at a moment.

Halving is definitely coming my friend, the price increase increase is already a valid evidence to prove the speculation. I believe the speculation is right because we see and experience it now already, many have already made a good profit by doing short term investment.

You can see also that the value of Bitcoin is going to be higher and that is perfect indeed for the halving but actually you are not for sure what is going to happen in the future with Bitcoin and that is the most risky thing and that is because it is also a currency.
So the price is always changing so you have to sell it on the right moment and that is important.

Nobody can predict and with bitcoin there are never good signals when it's going up or down. It's mostly following your gut and taking risk.
This may lead to nice profits, or very bad losing of your money. But well that's how the game is played.

It will keep going up after the halving too. Maybe we have a small correction of 100 dollars like the recent one thats all. Its too risky to try to play the market.. Buy and hold.

I don't think that this is the right time to buy as price already crossed $720 so its too high to invest in it, its better to hold existing coins for the halving.

The price has been increased to $750 in the last few minutes. I just got up and a good surprise just happened :) The halving is comming but i think the price is being increased much more before the halving rather than after the halving. With the last trending price will reach $1k at the end of this year.

Holding is really good at a moment as price is rising and we can expect very high price at the time of halving, so selling at that point can  be really profitable.

I have seen many talking that price will touch 2000, so I think buying at current price still is a good idea and won't let you down.
You should remain present when that event happens, as after that, panic sell will take place.

No it's not holding at all. Halving is the period of time when mining reward gets divided by 2, as of current reward 25 which will be 25/2=12.5 after halving.

Price is already up 3 times, so I don't think it will make much difference unless it reverses back under 500.

None have expected such an enormous growth before the days of halving. Everyone speculated as the price might touch $500 before halving. Now with this increase a big rise can be felt on halving.

If the price of bitcoin will collapse, it'll rise up again. Those who're holding bitcoins are longterm investors and that's good cause they can hold as long as they want to make decent profit out of it, beside that daily traders are also interested for its volatility. So bitcoin will never be collapsed forever.

How you sure that bitcoin will never be collapsed forever honestly bitcoin is always depends in demand and supply.. so there is no sureness if the price will stay at the high price.. there is still possibility that the price will colapse anytime..

Thousand dollar price is easily achievable now as we are getting closer to it now, and  I think we will reach there before the stage of halving.

More & more investors doesn't matter longterm or short-term are joining this bitcoin game, so isn't the demand rising? It's already widely accepted and day by day gaining more popularity, so the market is slowly becoming liquid. As of supply we already got a decent amount with us. So if the price will collapse it'll rise up again as we've seen it already.

You don't need to get confused, you have two options now either you can buy some coins if you can afford to or just hold the coins that you have for halving.

no you need to invest your bitcoin to have more bitcoin or do trading, if you just hold you have better value for each coin, but not more coins

You wouldn't know, just cause it's got a bit down doesn't mean that's it's peak price. It might rise even more by tomorrow or in next few days.

Price is going up and down very quickly and its changing on regular basis so we cannot be sure what will be the price at the time of halving but lets hope that everything goes fine at halving.

even though we already see the highest prices in these year several hours ago but i must say bitcoin movement looks abnormal currently and very difficult to predict regular basis prices and i personally don't dare buy bitcoin and more prefer to holding my own bitcoin because i'm afraid the prices will down with very fast after i buy it  

What goes up high very quick, can also come down a lot very quick.

At this point it's just normal market action for the time we are currently sitting in.

The market has to face some massive dumps in order to get some selling pressure off the market.

Whatever selling pressure we run into in the next month is negligible for the one fact that the supply of coins that miners will be selling are halved. So the demand will outpace supply and it will be more of a trader's market. Last time I checked traders want to make money.

The largest mining farms don't sell their freshly mined coins, so these coins don't impact the market even while block rewards are still 25 BTC.

I am talking about the selling pressure coming from whales that bought themselves plenty of coins in the time when the price was sailing below the $300 and $400 levels.

Just dont be in panic and the best thing that you have to do is just hold a longer time and dont be greedy otherwise you are going to sell it to soon and that must not happen to you because that should be sin if you can get more profit if you waited a longer time.
Patience in Bitcoin is really important otherwise you will be not to be able to earn profit.

Price will go beyond $800 at the time of halving, but if price falls after halving and remains stable at $800 for a long time then majority of the users will be satisfied with that price.

Halving will be happening at the 2nd week of July, As of $800, it might take a few more days to hit that as the price is stuck between $730 - $760 for a day.

There is possibility that price will fall after the halving as majority of people will sell their coins at halving, so we need to keep close watch on price movement and take decision accordingly.

Yes price is changing every now and then, so its really difficult to predict what will be the price tomorrow and what would be the best price to sell.

I'm sure the price of bitcoin will keep increase even on yesterday the bitcoin's price decrease drastically. But right now, the price of bitcoin is going up again.

Let's hope it comes to that. The price should still have room to go up. But we may not now how much. At best i predict we see it go to 850 dollar and then retract again.

The price will surely continue to grow in the future but right now all attention is pointed at the block halving that will take place next month. After the block halving the price has to go up by itself instead of a certain happening.

Yeah, definitely the halving is causing a major boom in bitcoin's price right now and I think it is going to go up even further before the halving date comes. After the halving there may be a small adjustment in price.

After that adjustment though, I think it'll go up all the way :P

Well it already has several times, patience is what one needs to have to make a decent profit out of bitcoin.

exactly! there have been enough times where the price went up to high price levels, and then got dumped down again after a while. if you have patience and not sell your coins as soon as you see you made 10% profit, then you can keep holding till you see the price gain around 70% or even double in value. that's exactly what i do. and there will be plenty more of these opportunities in the coming years. buy on time and sell on time. ;)

For me, I would definitely hold my bitcoins for a longer period of time. The price is not at its peak and we can still more increase in the coming days approaching to the halving day. I have already made a savings of bitcoins and regardless of what will happen in the future those amount I risk would not determine my future. I just need to be lucky to be rich and it would only happen if the BTC price will continue to increase.

Not sure what will be the price in future but halving will take price to a next level and that is the reason I am holding my coins and will surely sell at that point, as I can buy again anytime when price drops.

In my opinion, I don't think the price will fall down hard after the halving, we understand the price increase is necessary for the miners to stay profitable in their operation and they vital in maintaining the system of blockchain.

Yeah it is starting to fall because many users get attracted to that price and causing them to sell their coins and it results for the price to fall. But i think bitcoin price will rise again because many users especially traders will take advantage for the price fall because it's cheaper than before.

I think some whales player sell all their bitcoins and makes the price of bitcoins become decrease right now and many people also sell their bitcoins in the same time, it's make the bitcoin's price goes down so hard.

When price went higher in past few days many people sold their coins to earn profits and that is the reason we are seeing price drop, but now many people will prefer to buy and that will again take price to a higher level.

Litecoin market cap is now only $223,073,268 compared to Bitcoin $10,470,443,321 so I guess you can't really compare events like halving because disproportion of economic scale is too high.

just bull , bull and bull until august. people around me already panic and sell their bitcoin at $670 or so. i still holding and keep buying sometimes. the $1,200 value are not reached yet and i believe it will hit in august.

If you don't have money and if you cannot afford to buy at a moment then the best thing is to hold your coins for halving, as you can definitely make some good profits from it.

Honestly, I was thinking of taking a loan just to buy bitcoins at its current price now, this is an opportunity for me so I would take the risk because I believe it will rise again before the halving.

Don't worry because i think it's natural for bitcoin because bitcoin is depending only the volume of users. Halving is in July so the price should hit $1000 in July right at the time of halving. As per your views how will it hit the all time high of $1200 in august ? there is no special event in august which can make this happen.

it's definitely possible for the price to touch the $1000 just before the block halving, or exact at the halving day. but my guess is that we will stay just under $900 as there are just 2 weeks left. another pump close to $800 will trigger a lot people to sell their coins. i expect the price to recover, and then head to around $900 where the dumps will be too severe to stop with buy orders. $1000 is a better target for later this year.

The recent price increase happened due to the chinese intervention. They wanted to send money outside country due to the falling price of yuan and instead of using regulated way of sending money, they chose bitcoin. Due to high buying orders, the price went up.

Now they are selling their bitcoins and the price has gone down. These are quite natural for any exchange traded currency. You should hold your bitcoin for price increase but you should think about long term. Shorter terms will not give you any good profit.

The storm has already happened I think. What we have seen is a correction and a new future stable price for bitcoin. We may see it increase a little more.

The price has to increase if you ask me because it already gets harder to earn Bitcoins because of the halving so we have to have somewhat of an compensation for that.

The problem with such speculations is that people build the ideas into their thinking, thus they alter the situation making the base of speculation obsolete.

The only reason BTC would go up to $600-800 is if people believed it will go beyond $1,000 and soon. Not a significant number of people realistically believe that halving will push the price beyond $1,000, thus nobody will buy in at $600 or $800 either.

It's great to see some one being happy with the price we are sitting at instead of unhappy people moaning about the price not moving much closer to $700-$800 every time. Current price is more than perfect if it happens to stay here for another 6 or so months.

BTC price now back up to $691 (July 2, 11:45 AM US ET), the exact price where I took some BTC to buy gold a couple of weeks or so ago.  Ahh, BTC then went on to go to some $760 on its spike, so my timing was quite imperfect.

This time I will wait a few days more (at least until July 9 or so) before I buy anything else...

Yeah that's usually the reason why we are saving some coins as of now because we want to sell it for after halving and i think that it will be good because the price could exceeds $800 but if you ask me the high price after halving will not last for a long time because that price can cause a panic selling which will affect the price from being higher to be cheap. So it's better to be smart on choosing how much price will you sell your coins ;)

800-900$ is very likely and possible. Maybe not right before or at the halving but a few days after that the price could grow. But couple of weeks after that it could fall again.

Halving is really incoming, 2 days till it happen. I am so excited, it's like a new good movie when you don't know what will happen next, so strange feeling.

It was early reaction to halving but Bitcoin was overpriced and overbought so we saw a decline to 600's again. After halving I think 700's will be the new bottom and price steadily increase like in 2013. It won't happen overnight but slowly going up for 2-3 months.

I'm actually still confident that the Bitcoin would increase to at least $800; if it doesnt reach that value before the halving that would mean that the miners just got the pay reduced. Some miners might actually quit because of that and the supply rate would go down. This can really affect the value even more badly but lets be patient and see what happens.

That is what I was wondering when I saw it this morning at this cause that is a big difference from when I left it last night. It was $70 higher. That is a big change and something must of happen to cause this but no body has answers  to this exact same thing that I asked earlier.

We can't predict what will happen after halving or soon but most of the expectations of other members IMO is the drop will happen after halving because of panic selling that could happen because that's one of the mindset of an average bitcoin users is just to hold bitcoin now and sell it later or just after halving. Nobody can say if you're going to make any profit from all that. Problem with the halving is that nobody knows what will be the consequences. Prices went really up because people are trying to invest just before the halving, but what will happen after in 1.5 day?

This could be the profitable year of my stay here, my investment was doubled this year and still believe I can have more before the end of the year. Just have to patiently wait for the price to pump again and another good profit ahead.

BitCoin is at $ 630 today so this is a period of holding your funds - possibly even adding if you can afford to, but I certainly wouldn't be selling any except for day-to-day incidentals.

The longer this period goes on the more stable BitCoin will be into the future as people come to accept this is the base line of its price.
