bitcoin prices has already crossed $700 as expected.Now as the halving is nearly arrived,what you guys think about its prices? will they fall or rise further?

I think the price will fall next year because this year the price should be increase because block halving is done and i think sooner or later we will see that the price will increase fast.. the price is always depend in demand and supply so the price will increase soon..

I don't know.  I never really expected the price to go from $420 to where we're at now.  What we've seen lately is an amazing run up, so people should kinda be happy with this.  That's my take on the matter.  The halving just happened today, so this may not be the end of the price increase.  Bitcoin has been very volatile, historically.  It could be at $1000 tomorrow--but it probably won't be.

The block halving has taken place and right now there is nothing that people can take as an excuse to say "the price will reach $3000 because of....". I think from here the price will slowly go up, which some people may find very boring.

Starting from the next month I expect the price to start slightly falling down, until that time bitcoin will have its ups and downs but when August comes the price will change (my opinion), those that think that the price at the halving or after it will reach moon that is only a dream.

The bitcoin price is very volatile. So it can rise and fall up to 20% per day. But in the long term, the price will rise.

I think the price will rise over the next one or two years, but the rise will be mostly slow with ups and downs. After a new ATH I expect the price to fall, but not back down to below $1000. In the short term the price might  fall down from today's price, or rise above $700. I'm holding, I find I lose money gambling on the short term price movements.

I dont expect any fall on the price of bitcoin this month up to the end of the year.
As now we see the price goes up slowly but surely.

I am not sure when the pirce is going to fall again because I am really hoping to buy some Bitcoin again, the price at the moment is a bit high for me.

The price will trade between $600 to $790 in the next few months, so it might be possible to buy just below $600.

I think $650 would be an okay price to buy at. I don't really think we'll hit below $600, or if we do, we wouldn't stay there for long.

I think the price is very stable right now. Any news might make it move either way, but I don't think we are going to see a big drop in the near future since the halving is completed.

I believe that it’s the calm before the storm, there's a lot of people watching and waiting. We shall see a good price rise and that as a result, things are pretty calm now.

i don't expect the price fall in the end of this year but maybe i expected to see the price fall tomorrow that will not make me wait for a long time to buy bitcoin in the cheap price if that can happened.

That can happen anytime really.
I expect it to happen soon cause that is what the trend is showing.
It went up and now is steady then it falls again. By how much only time will tell. You just have to be aware when it is happening so you can pull out quickly enough to have as much damage control as you can when it does.

Halving has been passed for a while now and the price hasn't changed too much, instead of an increase we are seeing a fall down, but I just checked the bitcoin price graphs and for a week the price hasn't changed to much, the maximum was $664 which is $10 difference. I expect price to fall until september or october as many people are still on holiday.

We don't know when it will be happen but these following months we will see price fall i think just a little bit.. but the price should still increase back into $700 value many people are still waiting for the price back into 700 value until 900 value..

The truth about the bitcoin scam and its fundamental flaws is getting more and more exposure but slowly. The bitcoin scammers are trying hard to keep their ponzi scheme alive with promises of magic and wealth for everyone.
Fundamentals are broken. It's going down slowly but will accellerate as soon as we deop sub 500.

why not? It is not unrealistic to imagine whales pushing the price down to recollect their coins at the lower prices. Once weak hands start selling we may also see $500 handle again.

I think it will rise to something like $875-900 and drop back down to $800 or $850.

i don't think that bitcoin rate will up to $700 until august, this could be happen if there is a new issue from offline news, like for example, the bank of one country will make a new obligation on money, or there are any economic condition that can make people on one country not believe with money like crysis on greece yesterday.

The fact that you are holding coins is not yet sufficient to keep it constantly rising. I wish it were so simple, but it is not.
What makes you think there will be no deeper dive on the way?

I'm hoping for this one to happen also. Bitcoin is gaining popularity and maybe somehow when there's an event that will push the price higher because of the increase in its demand then it will reach up to $1,000. Some major investors are starting to back up their assets with bitcoin and then maybe in the near future others will invest on it too making it a media scope and then when the mainstream media will focus on it then maybe it will attract some small time investors too and collectively the volume will be higher which can increase the price.

hey tomorrow will be 1st august, and i think bitcoin will down for a moment, not deep down, but at leas $5-$10, it just my guess and i hope its not down too deep.

I don't expect any significant fall of bitcoin price, in that I don't count daily fluctuations. Price is holding and for me this stability is good thing. Bitcoin can not go just up, it wouldn't be normal. I find logic in one member words about current vocations, how people spend money on that and other summer activities. When summer end bitcoin rush will start again, and we can expect rise not fall.

I'd say we've got scarcer supply now, so we'd be in deep trouble if the price dives deep into the sub-$300 territory. We'd probably see a drop within the August, but it won't go below ~$400 I hope.

You do not have any reason or any proof that the price of bitcoin will drop after a few days, the usage of bitcoin is currently running fair and people have good expectations from that coin and they will not leave that coin so with that we can say that the price of bitcoin will now no more decrease to a lower price.

Exactly why a big crash is pretty much guaranteed and bitcoin is about the most dangerous investment one could have.

I think that price will fall right now really much because price is decreased now really much and after halving i am sure that price will increase about 3x more than halving bitcoin prcie per piece.

Looks you were right, bitcoins are falling at the moment. I guess once the price hits 500-550 there will be a strong buyers wall to stabilize prices again.

It is my wish as well. But the bitcoin price just dropped to below $500 in some exchanges due to hacks.

If Bitfinex comes back up again, and there is barely any damage done due to the hack (ignore fud on the internet), then the price will jump to $600 levels again. Patience is the only thing that counts now.

This is exactly the scenario I was writing about. Weak hands started to bleed and we got even sub $500 prices briefly. Let's see how the rebound develops to get the idea of what the reminder of the year might be about.

i can not expect that the price will fell down and will increase and will cross 1000 $ this year very easily, but unexpectedly the price of bitcoin fall down too much, although every thing is ok about bitcoin the halving also do not effect the bitcoin in early days, the countries are also thinking about to regulate bitcoin but still an unexpected situation occurred and the price of bitcoin fall to 500 $. but hope that it will be a temporary fall down and the price will very soon recover its previous position.

Halving has very little effect on the price, if at all. Currently after this halving already 75% of all coins are mined with only 25% yet to mine. This means there are enough coins in circulation to push the price down, and even deliberately low, if the whales wish to. That is exactly what we observe now.

If the bitcoin hack is restricted to the Bitfinex, the damage to the bitcoin will be limited. The price will go up soon.

Bitcoin has shown that it can take a major blow in trade volumes and still bounce back. The Bitfinex trade volume was around 10 000 coins a day, so that should put a decent dent in the global price. Most of the traders would have moved on to other exchanges and would not go back to Bitfinex, so we should see a small correction soon.

The crypto-currency ecosystem is big enough for many participants to go. If Ethereum gains popularity and people start investing in it, it doesn't mean that bitcoin prices will start crashing.

Ethereum now has more nodes than Bitcoin, we can see more people moving towards ethereum for quick profits, in no way it will crash bitcoin. If everyone was using Bitcoin Core then Bitcoin would have far more many nodes than Ethereum.

ETH and ETC are hot coins at a moment for making quick profits and people are making good profits from it, no doubt its risky too but you need to take those risks to earn more money.

2 months ago I expected that the price will rise right after the halving so I didn't really pay attention about the price increase before the halving. I thought it was just the beginning. Today, I expect the price of Bitcoin to rise after a month or two but not in days. The previous dump of Bitfinex hackers has prolonged the journey of bitcoin's price going up.

Price was expected to go higher at halving but it didn't happen, and it was predicted that price will drop after halving that also didn't happen, price went down due to bitfinex scam but it will recover very soon.

The bitcoin price has ready recovered from the $460, which was bottom of the recent price. It will rise to $600 again soon.

I don't know if this is too early to be said but, it seems people are immune to exchange hackings from now on. Yeah we saw a major dump after bitfinex hack but that dump is done by the hackers. And the prices bounced back to where it was before, well almost.

 The only thing remains which can stop bitcoin is getting banned from major countries like Russia, China, Usa...

I think this is just like the same as before every year.. if you notice from 2015 crypsy is one of the exchange hack but the truth we didn't know if they are telling the truth or they are just lying.. we dont know if the trading site is hack by someone.
They have always a reason that their site is hack the same as mtgox cryptsy better to dont trust them net always withdraw your balance in any trading site..

There is no price bubble at the moment. I think there will be catalyst for the bubble in the next few months.

One catalyst for the price rise could be the increase of block size to 2MB or even higher. That will improve user experience.

That is my main problem with trading, I never expect price to fall, I`m always optimist and I always think it will grow up. Cause of that I`m bad trader, even after some fall I think it will go up, after bigger fall I think it will recover. Not just with bitcoins, with altcoins as well.
I don't see things clearly, I always think there is chances for big things. So price is falling sometimes, but that make me sad. I would like to see it stable and going up. After recent 100 $ dump, price is slowly recover and I think we will not see falls in next few weeks.

Each time some bad news comes out the price reacts accordingly. The recent bitfinex hacking is the latest of the bad news that brought the price down by more than 10% in one day. The only good thing about that is the price recovered a big part of that loss right away. Good for those who took advantage when the price hit $500 as it is now going up back again to the high $500s, even close to $600 at that.

There is no buy support and incentive to push the price over the $600 price level, and to keep it there. If this continues, then I think the price will fall down a bit lower in the coming week.

Not a pro on TA or even simple speculating, but judging from the events prior to this rise, it would remain stagnant for weeks (since there are no major events helping the price go up or down) until something would 'shock' the market that could decide whether this market would go up or down. We all know for a fact that traders who stocked loads of btc during $200 ranges are pretty much in profit right now and could care less on what would happen next. They could just short some or hold long on their positions. Again, without some major events in the scene, there would be no drastic changes in price.

the bitcoin "market" is predictable enough to know what is going to happen, however the thing that is unpredictable is all other things that can affect the price for example this recent bitfinex hack was unpredictable but the market reaction to it is predictable.

Bitcoin is more than likely not going to go down below $500, and I would be incredibly surprised I Bitcoin does go below $500. Something like that would be a massive dump of epic proportions, and I would be starting to worry about the future of Bitcoin as a financial tool.

Sub $500 prices are a bit too low right now. That however doesn't mean we won't see the price fall down a bit lower. My guess is that the low will be somewhere around the $550 level. If it goes lower than that, then we'll be heading to very low $500's again.

When people forget about the Bitfinex hack, the price might recover. If people have good memory, the price will stay low.

I don't expect the fall anytime soon. It is low enough and if your holding any now is the right time to hold on to them a little tighter to weather the storm.

Well bitcoin price is declining right now.  So what do you think?  Price fall is happening right now, maybe this is due to some exchange closing incident or whatever we don't know.   When things subsided and price stable for some week, we might expect an increase in price.  Bitcoin price recovery phase might happen next.

It seems it is better to trade the bitcoin with other altcoin coins. Every day, there is a hot coin. I saw big increase of DGB today.

Price is already going down at a moment and it can go even lower in next few days and I don't see anything that will take price higher in coming days.

I also predict that, because I see that the market demand and also speculation from mining are not so strong, so I also think that day will come prices will soften and increase are not so high. And after that the price will be stable, but it could be an advantage for us. The only big news recently is the hack of the Bitfinex exchange. Otherwise there is nothing exciting. So the bitcoin will not go anywhere.

I think the price fall is already happening these days.. from 592 drop again back to 562 and looks like this is a long time price stay at 566 according to preev. Lets hope that the price will go down more.. and i am not expecting to decrease the value of bitcoin again.

I think not least the bitcoin steady him in that price . Many top traders to large holding bitcoin and most of them do not allow to decrease the price of bitcoin . Bitcoin price only drops when something bad happens and there are news everywhere. Think of the times of mt.gox and crspty (or whatever the name that was) and zen related products. They always fall down the hill and always makes bitcoin prices go down.
 
Many people say "thats it I am down , I will not go back to bitcoin again" and get angry and leave , selling all coins they have , which makes price drop. Though , most of them can’t stand being behind and come back and the price normalizes soon. I believe only possible reason for bitcoin to ever drop in price is a bad news , otherwise its either steady or goes high.

It's not always due to bad news that the price will drop. Some times there are large players unloading serious amounts of coins causing the price to go down heavily. But yes, hacks of exchanges have a far more serious negative impact on the price. And quite often it takes months to recover to a respectable price again. But then again, whatever is happening, the price has always managed to recover again.

I think the price of bitcoin mainly fall when everyone start to sell their coins and they left to continue to buy goods with bitcoin ( i mean when they leave to use bitcoin as a currency) so if anyone want the price of bitcoin to rise then they should have to promote bitcoin to every corner of the world and have to go to those markets where bitcoin is accepted.

If the dollar is weak, bitcoin's price should increase in dollar terms.
However, that doesn't matter. When we talk about exchange rates (or prices), we should take into account purchasing power parity.

Every time the price surges for 10% or more, I am expecting the price to retreat a little bit. It also needs to rest from time to time and to correct because of overbuying. These are all reasons why the price can't always be expected to go up because once the price rises too fast and too high, players get anxious and start to sell, hence the supply becomes greater than demand.

In my opinion, the price of bitcoin will fall when bad news about bitcoin show up, like bitfinex hack, it makes the price of bitcoin goes down so bad, luckly the price back to normal.

It is just the result of the correction from the price rally before the halving and I think bitfinex hack don't effect to much for the price decrease.

I also think that it will be a correction but after that rise again but who knows, we still cannot say this right now so we have to really see this.

I do not expect prices to fall anymore if there are no hackings happening or anything of that nature. I think people will not panic sell so much anymore and prices will continue to happily rise in a stable manner which causes even more people to buy into bitcoin and the price to get even higher.

Its very hard to predict this but I think they will fall in a couple months, in the begin of 2017 to be honest.
Of course its not sure if this will happen but I just go this feeling that it will.

From my experience I always expect the bitcoin price to fall when something bad happens to the cryto world.

For example the price crashes every time when an exchanges get hacked and this has been proved many times in the recent years.

Of course bitcoin like any other currency is affected by the fiat currencies and when usd falls bitcoin will fall too.

I expect prices to fall pretty soon because it is going up and people will get greedy and sell you can compare it a little bit to panic selling cause alot of people will not take the risk to wait till its higher and higher but they will sell it all to take minimal profit. if we all hold we will gain much more but people wont just do that.

When USD price falls bitcoin itself will not fall but just the value of it to other fiat currency.

hope that this time we will not hear such a bad news, which really effect the price of bitcoin temporaryly and not permanantly, after some time the price again stable and recover its previous position, just like bitfinex, when the news about bitfinex hacking spread in the the market people start panic selling of bitcoin and the price fall down to a very very low level over night about after that the market start recovering and not it again trading above 600 USD.

I dont think the price will fall allot at the end of thigs year and that is more because i know taht the price will rise allot at the end of each year becuase peopple are spending like always at the end.

I always hope to rise in price of bitcoin. maybe some people will benefit bitcoin prices fall. but for me and most other people is more important bitcoin price increases. increasing prices, stronger also the position of bitcoin.

I expect prices to fall right now because they actually are. And I know this because prices went up and people went crazy and sold all their coins which caused this 20$ 1 day drop now. i just love loaded questions and questions with a built in win factor, why be so negative?  the price is $400 higher than two years ago and staying within that area.  I can ask the other question, when do you expect prices to rise?  and i will be right in some way before the end of the day or week, because i purposely said nothing other than "rise" and that means that a single Satoshi pop upward, on any exchange proves me right. 

the overall trend has been upward, that is just a fact, i am not trying to sell anything or make any case, that is the factual overall trend.  every peak price will be met with a sell period that will cause a downward slip, followed by a rise again because the prices have lowered.  popularity has caused the price to steadily go up and it should continue, rumors and other stuff like that may bring a downward pop, but it seems to be upward into the future

2 months ago I expected that the price will rise right after the halving so I didn't really pay attention about the price increase before the halving. I thought it was just the beginning. Today, I expect the price of Bitcoin to rise after a month or two but not in days. The previous dump of Bitfinex hackers has prolonged the journey of bitcoin's price going up.

I'm pretty sure that the value will not fall for next 1 -2 months

That is just a normal bitcoin price movement. Also it's better to have such movement like that so that we can test the resistance of those $10 - $20 increase prior to the silent price movement for weeks.

Yeah its just a normal its always happening because bitcoin price is always relaying in demand and supply.. this is not like the currency local like usd or any fiat that has stable price.. 

Honestly you can not know when the price will fall bitcoins is always dumping and pumping and you can not when the price will increase again or decrease because its unpredictable.. the price of bitcoin will increase more if bitcoin is in demand. its always depends in demand and supply..

Always when a big exchange gets hacked (like crypsy, bitfinex, bter, mx.gox etc.) the price changes immediately and it's normal.

I expect the price to fall if something happen in one site for example bitfinex incident. But it was normal for price to fall because it always happen where there is incident something like that. Never saw we have an incident like that and price goes up.

II dont think the price will fall allot after the halving or other things that will come for the bitcoin whatr i do know is that allot of people dont want to use it anymore if the price is that low!

yes one of the reason to fall is to have some rumors that exchange site is been hack but for me if manipulation happen that's the possible big reason why btc price will fall down big holders dumping their investment to collapse and to take advantage of weaker hands and grab much bigger holdings.

I expected prices to fall very soon. As we could see bitcoin went up by a fair percentage but is continueing to go down right now by quite alot again. I think first we will reach 500s again and after that anything could happen but I'm suspecting a big drop.

nobody ever expects a price fall until it is late or close to it happening.

although you can always speculate about these things and make some predictions about when it is going to rise or fall but these will always be predictions.

for example you could never expect the recent massive price drop before it happened. but you could easily expect it as soon as you heard the news.

so in this case you an never say if there will be a price fall or not. and unless something bad like another exchange hack happens the price will continue rising up.

yes that's right its just speculation and some shake coming from the whales who's holding more btc they just wanted to make it seen like it was falling but the reality is they just wanted to grab opportunity to the weak holders.

The bitcoin market price falling also came from whales who are selling off their bitcoins after hearing the bad news.

I don't think bitcoin price will fall anytime soon.  There are lots of good news with bitcoin. And the past bad press about the hacking had already been subsided.  Even some company are acknowledging bitcoin and put a  tax on its transaction.  I think bitcoin is getting nearer for mass adoption,  with the untiring development and promotion, I think bitcoin will even  increase in price this coming 2017

What's the good news that you are talking about? Haven't seen any beside Apple integrating Circle in their iMessages system. Also, taxing Bitcoin is nothing new. There are a few countries already running such a policy for quite a long time. The only thing is that people simply won't declare their coins to the tax agency in their country. :P

The price will go down by the next spring, compared to the price we'll see this winter. It's how BTC always worked, and I guess the same thing is going on right now. But this means we have to see a +$800 price this winter.

I thing a dump will happen before the end of this year. Probably a small rise in november and then a larger dump.
Not a dump like we have seen in the past of 150 dollars or more. But a dump of around 30-70 dollar. This surely is quite large but like before the price will get up again.

Yes the only thing that affects bitcoin to be dumped or fall in price is due to  the negative news.  Just for example, bitcoin is doing well before the hack of an exchange happen.  From that bad news where eveywhere about bitcoin and due to that, people who  have liittle faith in bitcoin panic sell their bitcoin thinking it is doomsday for bitcoin.  But after sometime we saw  a rebound.

It seems that at least the price of bitcoin since the previous halving not affect its price was stable and the price is good . So far the bitcoin will not fall because it will not allow traders and miners of bitcoin prices have fallen . At least maybe a little the price down and not fall. In that case i'm not expecting the bitcoin drop.

yes that is a fact that it is a good to buy bitcoin in present time or just below 600$. as it is expected that the price of bitcoin will raise to a very high price, some people are even expected that the price will cross the all time high limit at the end of this year or just in the start of the  next year.

There are two things not correct in your post.

First, the block halving has already happened back in July of this year.

Second, the block halving is such an event when it comes to getting hyped up, that in the runup to the block halving the price goes up, and not down.

The price will not fall for sure maybe a little bit but if we are going liek this peopel spending coins and other investing coins and no one is holding to long the price will stay positive for sure!

It's hard to say exactly when we can expect the price to fall. I have seen people screaming that bitcoin will hit 1000 usd and more after halving when in fact it crashed after the  bitfinex hack. It's just speculations and we can't  confirm anything until it has happened. I am expecting bitcoin will have a good support at 590/600 USD levels and it can keep inching up slowly to 700/800. Expect volatility after some big announcements or news which we can't say when they will be out.

It is difficult to say anything about trading markets how they will move in future. I can share my thoughts about price of Bitcoin and those will not fall significantly anymore. A few percentage of ups and downs are part of trading and beauty of which can not be considered increase or drop at all. In my opinion price will not fall under $560.

i think we can expect when the prices is to fall in the market, because with the market, we can see the movement of the rate, is it up or is it down and its depend on the people on the market and the big player.

the big player which have bigger bitcoin in up to 1000k, will be easy if want the rate is going to up and down. and they can control the rate, but the big player will do the best to make sure the rate of bitcoin will be stable and increase with slowly but sure. it just in my opinion and i am sorry if i am wrong.

that's the problem mate there's big players that working behind the scene they are those that can manipulate the price in which way they wanted to move i think if you can trace how they work and then you can predict when the price will fall down.

The price of the bitcoin can fall every moment and that is the biggest problem what we have because people dont like to see the bticoin fall that low because there are to  many are all in to the bticoin and such a shame if they lose all of it.

Manipulation that's happening in bitcoin now is now up with the community. Unlike in the past, where manipulation is easy to start, today's manipulation sometimes a fail.

Those big fish that will start a trend will do first move in those famous exchanges, if the community will support it then that was a start. But if not, then they will have to wait for another timing to start again another trend.

Well, I really expect the price of bitcoin down when I have a lot of money in the bank account that I have so that when the price of bitcoin dropped dramatically, I can buy in large quantities and hold it in a very long time. I am pretty sure bitcoin prices will surely rise when it happened

Well that is his own speculation and yes that has no basis.

But you know, last Christmas season, people are expecting a price decrease since people using much money during this season. If you look at the bitcoin price history, the price decrease while Christmas is coming and eventually it dragged to the next year.

Well maybe your theory will be true but i think that is coincedence  happens out there maybe it was been dump like what just happen so whales can buy cheaper bitcoin at they like but overall for it we cannot really tell when could bitcoin price would go down and what price could it stop, so for now we should monitor if we want to so we can monitor its breakdown.

I believe there's more down side than up side at this point. In my posts and threads, I've often repeated how it will stagnate or fall between July (the halving) and Nov/Dec'2016. Before November 2016, this will go down, 500 and under is very possible.

Keep in mind the late Nov/early Dec rise to 800-900.

I don't think the price of bitcoin is going to fall to $250 in January 2017. Because that is after the Christmas season and we know when that season comes.

People have money and they are going to spend it wherever they want and how they are going to use that.

And for sure many are going to buy bitcoins by that time and it is not going to make the price fall instead it is going to increase.

Can you please explain more about why you think Bitcoin will not fall below $560? For me I try to not to get into this kind of thinking because in the real world anything can happen. We expect one thing and then the unexpected happens. But still I am a victim of this, so go figure. :)

That user can't explain it. So far all people that have been saying that the price will not go below certain price levels, have all been wrong. The price went exactly there and even lower. Look at the $1200 ATH peak for example, who on earth thought to see the price to ever return to sub $200 prices? ;)

Right, we should expect on the bitcoin price that it would reach a certain amount either rise or fall. As you mentioned $1200 is the peak price and  on those times people  would probably say that it would rise even more just like  on what we are saying  today then suddenly price goes back to $200. Price volatility of  bitcoin  which causes it.

It was a different scenario back then. During that time, I think bitcoin was being pumped and manipulated by the whales so that they can earn more. Nowadays, whales will have a harder time manipulating the price of bitcoin because the users now are a lot diverse than that time.

Actually yes its because at this time their are so many scared holders that if they see some small downfall well they will start selling all they have and killed the pump so, provably for now whales needs more money and exert more efforts just to pump bitcoins at the topest price of a month, so for now i don't really see som possibilities that bitcoin would reach for 1000k$ and provably we can predict the price in decent way @600$ price and will stable to that.

Halving has already been made and the price dropped.  The major contributor for the price dropped was the bitfinex hack.  And it only shows that no one will know what will happen especially on the value of bitcoin.  Bitcoin price was still under $600.  Many still believes with high hope that its price will go up before 2017.
