I think that usually a guy which play games for a long time, risk to became a gambler addicted. Which method you use for stop plaiyng when you understand that you are near to became addicted?

For example, i don't play a lot or for long time (i play games spot during my free time), so i have no idea about, but i trade forex all day and when i had a significant  loss i usually turn off my Pc and i go out for a drink , just for not run behind loss.

Imo there's nothing wrong in playing for a long time as long as you can control yourself to stop gambling anytime then you don't have to worry about it.
For your question I usually watch some movie or anime to avoid gambling, sometimes make myself busy to avoid thinking about gambling.

When I made big profit, I got addicted ! So I keep betting since I want more profit , more and more
Once I'm experience major loss at the end, I'm stop gambling at the moment. If I'm not experience it ( lossing ), then I will keep gambling over time!

Sometimes I try to change my loss but it turn worse so I'm decide to stop at all

The one who is addicted to gambling couldn't figure out actually he have already got addicted. But you are right that if you just try to focus on other things when you loss than that may help you to limit your losses and save what you have left.

The more you think about recovering your previous loss playing more, you will actually loss more and more. Same goes when you win, if you win some good amount you get greedy and play more with bigger bets and at end your all winning will be gone along with what you have deposited. This is the sign of gambling addiction.

To spot an addicted gambler or someone addicted to gambling is very simple. An individual whether by as a result of luck not on his side or as a result of chance either way he is just not winning and still keeps on playing thinking things will change even going to the extent of using money that does not belong to him thereby running into more trouble.

   Addicted gamblers think about gambling only. They dont care about their family, about other obligations, their focus is on gambling games. Like drug addicts they borrow, steal and cheat others to have money for their addiction. Money they win goes back in gambling, there is never enough for them. Stay away from this people, help them just if you think they wish to change on better. If they dont wish to change there is no hope for them.

I believe when you feel that you have the urge to make that one more bet on a loss, then you should realize you are headed towards addiction. Tbh, I find that anyone who wants to or does gamble is sort of already addicted.

The one who keep on depositing more and more when he loss what he have deposited few minutes earlier can be considered as addicted gambler.

You means people who as gamer have more chance to get addicted to gamble? I think not, I have my friend who spend over 8 hours playing games, but he not gambling addict, he play gamble sometime but not often.

I think for avoid to be a gambler addict, you should do your hobby to distract your gambling site/app, if you gamer, you can play your favorite game. Instead if you alcoholic in my view have more chance to be gambler addict, I don't know why but my brother is the proved sample.

If we can't control ourselves for not playing long. If we think of it several times in a day on what strategy to do or how much to bet. If our bets gets bigger and bigger every time we play. And when we almost forgot that there is more in life than gambling. We can actually know one if addicted due to the improves sites having chat and records appearing in our screen when we played we can spot who is always there and never leaving. We can know them if where it the state of getting addict on playing.

I'm not a full time gambler but i could say that im addicted to it. there's no sign when you're addicted to gambling its always depends on the person whos playing gambling. example im not good at gambling but i really want to gamble even im not good at it you could say that im addicted to it. and if you want gambling but you're not having fun on it well you're not addicted. this is only my opinion  :)

I don't really hope to become an addicted gambler it is just coming out unusual when I gamble too much and that's a normal thing when we are taking too much gambling, we tend to become an addicted one.


At first, I don't have any method for that caution. I just stop whenever I'm already out of funds but now I manage to set a limit to prevent this type of scenario.

Usually people won't feel get addicted, you will know you are addicted when your mind only think of gambling everywhere every time, and you will reject to go anywhere with your friends just to gamble, without gamble you feel something is not complete, that is the phase where you got addicted

I do the same thing as you did, when I lost to gambling or a loss of trade I turn off the pc and do what makes me happy so that it can refresh my brain that was emotional, at least I did not do anything stupid like gambling in a state can't control myself

The method I've been using to stop playing is to make myself comfortable to win small amount upon gambling. Because being not contented on how much you are winning is one of the reason why we are easily addicted. So if we are able to have that attitude we can just simply stop ourselves to addiction. And takes time to rest within the day and do gamble again tomorrow.

I can easily spot an addicted gambler because I have been into the situation once in my life. When a gambler is very aggressive and always wanted to end up winning is already one of the signs of addiction, he will chase his bets and he is a big risk taker who would want to go all in or nothing.

The feeling is not good when you are addicted as you cannot control yourself, you always wanted to gamble and you time is more focus on it.

Addiction is not just stopping it at your own will. it is the activity you keep on doing and doing again and you get a satisfaction on doing that thing. So if you gambling always and you can stop it at your own will, you are still a gambling addict because you keep on playing it.

I think it's quite easy to see one that is already addicted. The ones that are addicted are the ones that keep on betting every last cent they have in hopes of winning back everything they lost. Those with a potential addiction is quite different. They are the ones that have a mindset of they will get back all their losses and they also believe that there is a winning strategy in gambling.

If one has to steal money just to gamble I think he is considered as addicted. I had a friend of mine who keeps his gambling addiction to his family and making up story about why is he late to go home or sometimes he has no money specially in payday because he lost it everything in gambling and his family don't know what's is going on with him.

even if you say to yourself and others "I'm not addicted," you're still addicted if it is already addicted. The fact seen from the eyes of others, when you do not feel addicted but others say that you're addicted, you're addicted. Because a lot of gamblers who do not feel addicted.

Good to know your strategy, i'll try this. I'll do something to refresh my brain when i lose in gambling or trading because i usually greedy for that activity, try to get back my money and final result i'll lose all my bankroll.

A gambling addicted person is easy to spot ,He thinks , talks more about gambling and most of the time plaging gambling in online and Real casinos .More often gambling addicts have no time for some activities and you will feel them that they are greedy enough to go somewhere or to have money ,Ows for some money to loan or to borrow and they are the ones who they think im not a gambler addict .

Don't force yourself if you get stressful when gambling your money . Try to refresh yourself and do other useful activities for cooling down your stress and prepare yourself before playing gampling for better result.

i'm not gambling everyday and only gamble if i have free money to spend because before starting gambling i realize that gambling not for earn money and i usually have limit amount of money to lost during my gamble and when i do gamble and already reach those amount usually i would not continue it and turn off my pc and so far it does working well for me because untill now even i gamble but i'm not addicted from that

It is good that you are not addicted to gamling. There are many people just like you, who have a lot of strategy in order to limit gambling but they can not over come their feelings. Therefore, sadly, they keep gambling and pass their limitation. And as the results, they are addicted to gambling. You must have a strong mind in order to stop gambling like that.

i think i can stop whenever i want because if i see my money is going to dry, i will stop the games and leave the sites and maybe in the next week i will come back again with another games. but i am agree that to stop from playing gambling is sometimes difficult moreover if we are winning the games with big money.

That's good that you know when to stop this is truly a good to know when to stop because this will save you the heartaches of not getting back your money. You should one one very bad thing to do in gambling is trying to recover back your losses. Because gambling is not made to make a money but it is made to give you fun and enjoyment so you should come to gambling when you need some fun and must gamble always with some small fixed amount to avoid big losses.

i think very little number of people may have that control. most of the people when start gambling they become addicted. actually gambling gives you such expectation which compel you to continue again, which make people addicted, and then it become very difficult for  most of the people to stop gambling.

Comparing the people who have control and don't have control on themselves do really have a difference. Ratio is 3:10 I think its just my own opinion since mostly who do play becomes addicted in the long run and there are still people could able to handle themselves to prevent of being addicted to gambling.

i don't agree with this. it doesn't matter if you gamble for 1 second or 1 month. you become a gambling addict if your personality is an addict's personality.
if not you can gamble for a long time, manage your money and limit the risks while having fun with this game and never lose more money that you can afford to lose.
but if someone has an addictive personality he is going to become a gambling addict the first bet he makes but he wouldn't know it until he has lost lots of money.

it's true, I play gambling when first beginning to know about bitcoin. I play quite a long time and get addicted to about 1-2 years. but after that I started to get bored with gambling that does not give you a good advantage. so currently only play when having free money And consider gambling as entertainment.

An addicted gambler to me is some one who is on the losing end because you cant be winning and I will regard you as addicted because that is just normal for people through gambling or any other means to be addicted to making money. So, for someone who is losing every time then its not normal then that is an addicted user who will be losing and putting the economic status of friends and family in shambles..

You can't base addiction from their win streak or lose streak. It is not about the statistics of a gambler that makes them addicts. It's all about how frequent and how obsessed they are in it that they cannot stop themselves anymore. An addict wants to play every single second of his life, that's what defines them.

For me addicted gambler is those who cant control themselves anymore and because of that the relationship between his family is also affected negatively. so much losses yet cant stop playing. if thats the case, they need professional help to be able to overcome addiction. i am once addicted but i managed to change myself with that bad moment in my life, support of the family is a must.

Yes,I agree with you.A gamblers connected with gambling automatically and finally become so addicted to the game and the hope to win but in reality it not so easy as they wish at all.It can also be difficult to find out if you have a gambling problem also difficult to overcome from it.Gambling addiction a problem which if you have failed to control it you will suffer a long run.

It's simple. You just have to ask the people around you if they think that you're a gambling addict. You should know yourself best but if you don't, then the people around you are the ones that knows you the second best. Ask them if they notice you just gambling in front of your computer all of the time and if their answer is yes, then you should believe them even if you think that you're not spending that much time gambling. Anyways if you mean how to stop yourself from getting addicted to gambling, the first step is to realize and stop gambling before it's too late. Yes indeed it can not be denied, it could do with a very long time. Because when playing, and the curious feeling of responsibility will continue to be in our minds, win, win and win.
If I when around this is to divert attention to other objects more attractive or anything else that could divert our minds no longer possible to play. If they can not, only the last way is to turn off your computer.

Length of playing, type of game they are playing, how they dress and present themselves, do they always carry around lots of fiat notes (if IRL), how much money they have total. Those kinda things.

For me it would seem to depend on the games I play, I feel like I'd get more easily addicted when playing slots as opposed to playing dice for example.
Also, I usually think beforehand on which days I'm going to gamble and for how much money, I usually stick to that routine.

Your post made me laugh man, do you really think the way he/she dresses can get you spot an addicted gambler? The OP wants to know when he should know that he is addicted to gambling, and I guess the first thing that happens is "craving" for gambling. In my case, I felt sometimes like gambling is living so that was maybe a sign I should stop. Another thing is the amount you are risking. If you are starting to see that you are betting too much, it is time to stop.

You cannot easily spot an addicted gambler when you do not know him/her personally. This is gambling and we are in the world where clever people succeed, they might look addicted but in reality they are not. Usually, we know a person is addicted when he is part of the family.

As soon as you notice you are not making rational decisions anymore and start playing when you normally wouldn't, that is when you are addicted to gambling.

If you feel you are losing control, seek help, as the deeper you get into it, the harder it will be to stop gambling again.

Near to became addicted? Either you are addicted or not, there is no middle. Time doesn't really matter, when someone is addicted and stop gambling for month or two, or year, first time that person enters a casino will blow all his money away. Unfortunately i know how addiction works and triggers because i know few gambling addicts.

Thats a good idea. Try to do something that would be fun that can take your attention away from gambling. For me during my gambling days, if i lose considerable amount, i give myself one or two chances to recover from those losses. So i try to catch up on the loss but for two times at most. If i weren't able to do so i know for myself that its not my day and leave and do other things.

I don't count myself gambling addicted or even close to that. When I have a line of nonstop loosing in the game I just leave it and that's it. After some time I come back to the game and in the same case I leave it again and so on.
I have heard that the most sure way to save addicted to gambling man is to block this person in the special clinic.

That's not right anymore, you are killing your freedom, the good solution to cure some addiction is to turn your activities into a more productive ones. You will lose interest in gambling when you have something that you spent your time so much and that should not be a gambling related games.

You are right since this attitude is already considered as gambling addict since you are playing gambling on constant basis and those loses are just fine for you and you leave it there but speaking of playing back again and lose it up again then  it indicates addiction.As you said there are lots of things to make worth of our time rather than on doing gambling.

You are not looking addicted person, and as you use the different ways, like play gambling on a free time and after playing turn off the pc, and left it. So i think you are already doing very well. We become addicted only when we continuously playing and don't take worry about the addiction.

You can actually spot a gambler addict, when a person chasing his losses through betting high amounts but in the end it will added to his losses. And also a person who would like to borrow money from other people, the fact he will gamble it to regain his losses. I am thankful that I don't have this problems for now. 

Now, it's hard to spot an addicted gambler because we only gamble online and we are the only one who knows if we are addicted or not. I guess this will also help us not to be ashame with our actions but the risk is always there since no one will give us advice on what to do.

You can easily spot a addicted gambler if you see him everyday on a real casino and playing every game there. But if in online casino it is very hard to spot a addicted gambler. You need to check the name of the gambler in the history list every time you play. It is literally hard tho.

As I posted this not applied for online gamblers but also real life gamblers. I had a friend in real life his into gambling, he's being to obsessed with it, the fact he will lend just to catch his losses. I remember when I came with him to a pawnshop to sell his iphone just to fill his addiction. So in the end nothing happened, he lost. 

By talking him in general you can also find if a person is addicted to gambling or not. Like if he just avoids everything and is looking for money all the time then he is addicted and if he is calm, gentle to talk with you and much more relaxed (because an addicted gambler is always stressed ) then he is not addicted.

You cant be still sure if someone would talk on you on relaxed way isn't already a gambling addict because I know some people who are addicted to it still acts as normal and not too stressed.Addiction on gambling doesn't rely on those indications anytime but most of them are stressed for sure because they lose up too much money.

If you want to know you're gambler addicted or not, see how much time a day you spent just for gambling, don't care about anything beside gamble, don't care about how much money did you spent for gambling. Just my opinion currently many people got addiction in online gambling not real gambling, because in online gambling we can play everywhere and everytime just need Internet connection.

The real gambling addict people are less to compare online gambling. Yes, this online gambling is very easy to access and the bitcoin made people play online gambling very easy and qickly. IMHO, I always gamble with that amount which I can afford to lose.I deposit only 0.01btc per day.And I stop gambling on that day when my deposit balance got finished.Since gambling is so addicted, so we need to find ways to stop.ourselves from gambling.Some times I make a tour with my friends and go outside the city,it also helps me to avoid gambling.

Yeah along with the thing around him he will also ignore his family and his other relatives and will not care for them even in bad times. An addicted person only care for his gambling to get some money and to gamble with them.

I agree as long as you still have your control, it does not matter whether you play long hours or short hours.  What matters is the unstoppable urge to play gambling games even if you do not have free money to use as a bankroll, resulting to using the money that is alloted to other things.  This is one symptoms of gambling addiction.

well if it's through online gambling, usually you'll know a gambling addict if you see his username logged in almost all the time you log in. it would seem that these people don't leave their seats and spends most of the day in from of the computer gambling their day away. if you go to a casino, you probably would see the same faces there most of the time burning money and that's how you spot an addicted gambler.

It depends whether you are talking about online gambling or in casinos. Basically all kinds of gambling addict, this is normal because the gambler had the pleasure myself when it could be gambling. the main things that make the addict is because they never had a victory so they think it's easy to earn money.

Well I think it depends on the amount of time you use for gamble, and many other factors of course.
If you spend almost all of your time gambling, then you could be addicted to it. Also it gambling prevents you from engaging other activities, it should be a good indicator. You said you spend almost all day on forex. If you are a pro, that could be normal, Traders spend a lot of hours on that activity, but it's ok if you are a professional trader, it's like a job, so it's normal. People spend most of their time at work.

If you are not a pro, then you must really analyze why you are doing it, and if it's starting to affect other aspects of your life.
Also, it's ok to listen to close friends from time to time, because they knew you before you started to gamble, so they are in better position to see the changes on you, and how it is affecting your life.

when you gamble still on the limit amount you should not have to worry to get addicted later.

Well first of all, i play gambling in a week, it is best for me, and i believe in this way, i couldn't be addicted in gambling, and secondly i always use limited amount in gambling, i have a idea which amount is better to use in gambling, i do only 2 or 3 bets in a day of the week, and in my 2 or 3 bets i win or lose but i never take risk more than it. 

In gambling addiction, the money does not matter, if you play with a small amount or big amount no matter. The thing is how much time you are spending per day in gambling. If you play whenever you get free time and not make this is an habit then you are ok. But if you can not get sleep without playing gambling and you know you are in loss but still you feel like to play then you are addicted to gambling.

Perhaps the beginning of a person's addiction to gambling is because it never experienced a victory that is so great and made him terterarik for gambling back

If you see someone talks about gambling everyday like he breathes with it so definitely  that's a candidate for gambling. Or if he prioritize gamble above else like his family and friends, then you spotted a gambling addicted person.

and if someone had put gambling on everything, especially on his family, he was at the highest level of addiction. When he chose to gamble rather than congregate or hang out with his family. If a player is playing for long time that is not they are losing their time. They are also considered as the losers and addict because they do not give that time in any other activity to live a beneficial life.

First you should define what an addict is, second, identify why that person is playing for a long time.  There are people who look at gambling as their means of recreational activity.  For example, older people tends to use gambling as form of socialization, they will play for a long hours until they are done spending the whole day, do you consider them gambling addict?  Another thing is, if this is the persons means of earning money, of course he will spend a very long time for gambling just like when we are doing our day job.  Are we addicted to our job because we are staying almost 10 hours a day not including the overtime hours?  Basically it is not measured on how long or how short you are playing gambling, instead it is measured by impulse-control.  If you lose your control, then that is the time we can call you an addict.  But as long as you are sane even if you spend your whole lifetime playing gambling games, it does not conclude that you are a gambling addict.

I have been in the gambling game for a long time now and i have been in Vegas numerous times because I have friends that live there and sometimes we go there for some casual gambling. It is easy to spot addicts because they are always there on working days, it's like they somehow have unlimited money, they are always are sitting there inserting coins on the damn machines.

There is actually no ways to understand that you are about to become an addict and stop playing, because you will not realize it at all. You will just come and play and if you lose you go away and you come back again if you get money and that means you are addicted, but still you yourself wont realize it at all. That is the reason why people can't stop themselves because they just do it and don't think about anything.

It's hard to spot an addicted gambler by looking at the physical appearance. You may only know once you know the person once you speak to them. You may also know them if they are always playing the same game in casinos.

Don't confuse habit with addiction.

Well if you look at a person from the outside, you wouldn't know if that person is an addicted gambler or not. For newbies i think it would be easier to spot as you'll see it in their faces or they themselves will tell you that they're gambling. But for addicted gamblers, you'd have to know them personally. Yes this is very true. It was more pronounce in a offline casino (landbase) because they are always there playing when I visited a certain casino. I always watch her on how she played or how she lose. But I also notice that their is a financier always waiting for her to borrow her money so that she can continue playing. So I think she is very addicted to gambling. But if you wouldn't know her, you wouldn't spot her as gambling addict because she is well dressed and beautiful maybe she is rich and her past time is gambling I guess.

I can say I think of gambling even I'm at work, I love gambling and I have a lot of free time at work so it gives me liberty to gamble. Here it remains more better to leave the gambling by making himself busy in another serious thing , Because I already was addicted , now about 1 month happened  and not made any gambling , I remain always busy in the trading at Poloniex and bittrex and taking my eye attention at every possible altcoin to make profit .

Sometimes players are so addicted that they don't even notice, that their lives had change a lot. Based on my own experience. I have a cousin that is really addicted to gambling, at first I thought it is just a mannerism or tourette. Every time he comes home, He always play with his coins like the way poker players kinda shuffle it. I noticed it for the first month, but as months goes by. His attitude became worst, He lost a lot of weight *Negative, drug test*. He has this thing, that He can't stand a day without playing baccarat, poker, and some online gambling. The fact that he already been into the casino the same day, and Lost almost all his salary.

you can't judge like that , some people really know what they are doing , prediction some match based on their knowledge , ability to do some math statistics etc. they are selling their services and it's doesn't mean they are addicted. sometimes it's better to offering prediction service rather than gamble directly by yourself . as you might know the risk using any tips to place your bets in sports wouldn't give you any guarantee but at least give you a little bit confidence.

Honestly I didn't know there are that kind of people because I myself are not active in chat when I gamble, I bet in different kind of games and when I played dice I use BOT to manage my bet so I really don't know. Unlike gambling, where you are unlikely to earn anything and rather lose all in the end, you can be successful at forex trading, and you would spend days trading there without being addicted at all. For me as i experience the same thing and i seen also that kind of thing on my relatives and co-baranggays or nieghbors. So that it is not a new thing to be heard for but since of that i have a tactics  that ive used to know on what time did i stop. The tactics that know my limmitations or know every things limmitation and ill stop when ive play more than  a 1-2 even 3 hours of playing because it can have a disadvantage when too used.

Theres no method but limitation of resources and time. To prevent addiction, i limit myself on a particular capital or even the amount of winning and limitation of time like limitting mysellf for about 3 hours maximum of gabling for about once or twice a week. If you can control yourself that way, you will not become addict.
