GOVERNANCE BY "AI". DFINITY has taken the bold step of making the "The Code is Law" paradigm contingent upon the decisions of a distributed intelligence called the Blockchain Nervous System (BNS). I would personally rather be a first round investor, then the profit FOR first round investors seeing its already over, too ponzi feeling. Why on earth would anyone invest if the native token won't accrue value? Being a particiaption token, DFN gives several privileges: 1. Installing and running smart contract software (playing the role of “gas”) 2. The creation of “mining identities” by making security deposits. 3. The creation of “neurons” (part of the BNS) by making security deposits. 4. The attachment of private cloud networks to the public DFINITY network, again via deposits. Of course, participation in mining will be rewarded financially. It's clear that most investors will hope that the token's value will increase. However, we encourage DFN holders to actually use their tokens by contributing to the system. For this purpose, String Labs is working on consumer DFINITY mining & neuron device concepts. This is after all just another cloud service with fancy implementation, they have to compete with others in crypto land and the behemoths AWS/Azure/Google and a literny of smaller providers. On what planet do they think they are worth $3.5bn? Oh well, cross this one off. At least they are taking VC money rather than suckering little investors. Date of subscription was not a factor for this legacy community platform as these are all considered all early supporters. Rocket Chat Over the months, RC has become the premier channel for collaboration within the DFINITY community. Any user who joined RC between the day it was created and February 2018 AND verified their identity received an allocation of 1,000 CHF as a thank you for sharing ideas, creating groups and collaborating on the future of DFINITY. Any user who joined RC during this time but did not verify their account or had an inactive account received an allocation of 500 CHF. What about the top tier? The top allocation of 2,500 CHF was awarded to hundreds of early community members dating back to the 2015 inception of the project who have mostly contributed to the project in extraordinary ways. These are the community members that have assisted cryptographic research, white paper review, setting up meetups in their home cities, and more. Many of these people had not been rewarded to date for their time and efforts and we were happy to do so via the airdrop. Newsletter Again, we thank all of those who have chosen to join the The DFINITY newsletter. On this channel, allocations were rewarded based solely on the dates users signed up. The earliest community members up to July 2017 were rewarded 1,000 CHF, from July 2017 to Apr 3, 2018 - 500 CHF, from Apr 4, 2018 to May 30, 2018 - 100 CHF What about Telegram, Twitter and Reddit? These channels were not utilized inputs for community airdrop allocations. The 10% from airdrops/investors etc for the next 12 months is actually a good thing. Most prob dont know that AVAX has a similar distribution. The amazing thing to see was as more AVAX came onto the market from investors, the higher the price went..adding liquidity is a good thing. AVAX went from $2 to over $50 as supply increased. and this was not a one off event..check Solana..Jan 2021 all SOLs were released everyone expected a huge crash...it went from $4 before the release to $1 then within a few months almost $50 after all SOLs were put out. ICP will do something similar to AVAX & SOL.
