Post by: BitcoinLR on May 31, 2017, 04:51:12 PM
Hi,

Please let's recommend the best bitcoin wallet here, since blockchain has gone south!
nobody seem to understand the platform anymore...

I recommend MyCelium Bitcoin Wallet

What's yours?

For me, it is still Electrum wallet hands down. Its lightweight and easy to used and most of all you can used it to dynamics fee features. Lately we have been seeing a spike in transaction fees. Electrum offers the user to set what fees to be used in order for your transaction to be picked up in the next block by dynamically adjusting your fees.

I would recommend that you get Bitcoin Core immediately. Do not store bitcoins online, specially now that UASF is coming. Remember that if your wallet is not supporting UASF, you will not recieve the split amount on both chains, only on the chain that the wallet is supporting.

For a Filipino like me, coins.ph is the only wallet that suits for any bitcoin users in Philippines, it converts bitcoin into fiat then can withdraw it at atm even without a card, and most of all supported by many products and companies.

That is a good choice to use in a daily basis for payments and otber stuff like recharging your phone.
But you shouldn't store all your Bitcoins in a online wallet because there is always the risk of losing all your coins in case of a security breach. I suggest you to leave low amounts of BTC to spend when you need, and store the majority of your coins in a wallet like Electrum or Mycelium just for safety.

Point taken, having a different addresses will make my coins more secure, one of the moderator of this forum already told me that there is a possibility of web wallets closing down for a certain reasons, every web wallets are dangerous tho.

Mycelium is my main spending one. If a chain split is on the horizon I'll go for raw paper. Some of these wallet companies might be bribed or wig out under the pressure.

It's only as secure as the machine you're accessing it with. Are you 100% confident that no one is keylogging or screengrabbing you? I don't think anyone can do that so it's better to move.

They've had quite a few glitches too and their fee system seems to be struggling to stay relevant too.

I see, thanks.
I barely have any Bitcoin, but I will move them somewhere else at some point.
Can someone also bypass the authenticator as well?

In theory they could if they wanted. If it's by phone they could social engineer a new sim being sent to them instead. Email's a doss whatever they want to do. Better to be on the safe side.

Bold choice here...

FreeBitco.in

Why? Because we're the only bitcoin wallet paying interest, reliably every single day...4.08% annual percentage yield.

Why don't these other online wallets pay you for the risk you take in not owning the private keys? And the best part about interest is that while the rate stays the same the fiat value increases as the price of Bitcoin increases...which in fiat terms means you're earning even more!

The best in my opinion is the Ledger Nano S. Not only for Bitcoin but other Altcoins.

The famous bitcoin faucet now can be a bitcoin wallet? Isn't it will give us more risk since your identity are anonymous? Online wallets, same with yours, don't giving us an access to our private keys but isn't is more safe,at least, if the online wallet we will used is regulated and a registered company which freebitco.in isn't?

Am I missing something here? Or you are already a registered company?

I had a lot of problems with core updating. It's extremely slow now and takes many hours to download the whole chain and has a tendency to crash while downloading, forget everything it has got to that point, and start again. I had to do it 3 times once, because i lost power for a second, my PC had to reset and of course I had to start again. I was like 10 hours into it when that happened.
I recommend a light wallet like Electrum.

I guess it depends on where you are from.
Like what above stated, in the Philippines they have coins.ph, they have their own site where they can have coin safely.
I usually use online or web wallet, coinbaseto be exact, because I can really use it anywhere and everywhere. But it is all up to your convenience, since online can access easily unlike others, but there is a chance of system failure but do not worry that much.

I usually don't recommend using online web wallets, but on the rare occasions that I use one, I use mycelium for android. It is possibly one of the best android web wallets, but I treat it like I would a normal physical wallet.

I don't put in more than I can afford to lose by accident in it, In my case, maximum $200 equivalent in bitcoins. You have to be careful though, if there is a malware out there that can grab your private keys, it could spell trouble.

I mainly use electrum, mycellium, multibit as hardware-desktop wallet  and blockhain.info as online wallet. For the best security always use 2FA code as second layer of security. If you ever have experience related to mixers, after taking your chips from mixing pool  with private keys just sweep them to your main wallet. I am afraid, but  importing private keys is only possible option  for online wallets. If you dont have private key you dont have control over your own coins. Best secure way is always known way 8)

Any reason why? I never liked heavy wallets, because there's no reason to use them really, if you're a normal guy that just want's to make a quick transaction once a while.
They take too much time to load up and they don't even close instantly and need too much disk space.

I use EXODUS its a desktop wallet which creates multiple addresses for bitcoin.
There are also wallets for Ethereum, Dash, Dogecoin, Augur, Golum and Litecoin
and I have full control over these.

It means my coins are not entrusted to an exchange where I have a small amount of control over.

There is also a feature for direct trading between the above listed currencies via SHAPESHIFT

I like to use an online wallet that is on Poloniex or Bittrex because the transactions are really fast and the coins could get traded on the go. If I wanted to trade an Altcoin while I was traveling somewhere then I would just login to any of those Bitcoin Exchanges and begin trading.

well this is wrong in all aspect, first they don't take too much space you use prune mode and save a lot of giga, i reduced my to 6 giga only, just to have time to change wallet in case i need to

second with any recent ssd and quad core, everyone has these today, you can fire it up pretty quickly, therefore there is no heavy load issue either, the only bad thign is that at the first laucnh you need to download the entire 130 GB or so of the blockchain..

I woudn't bother trying to use coinbase, just use something like blockchain and have a wallet with 2FA and a ton of security features without any of the BS that comes from having a website that actually cares about what goes on in your account (and can freeze it completely).

If you want a desktop wallet I'd recommend electrum for security, but I don't know if it is still being updated.

And its not that long to get it Just like what he said You can withdraw your money without using atm card. This is what we called card less.  Transaction here also is not that high like other type of wallet.

Blockchain.info web wallet is also the most well known wallet for now and i think it is safe to use what majority of the users uses.

You must know also that most people here are not Filipino so they can't use this app especially from US or New York area I dont know the reasons why but when I'm using VPN that time, and my location was US then I cant login because that Im from NY area. And for more information coins.ph is not totally wallet, and its an account a bitcoin account, you don't have the access of its private key and its also an exchange, as many filipino here are saying they can convert Bitcoin to PH money. But I'm using it of course because Im in PH. But I strictly recommend to use Mycelium as what OP's also and Electrum desktop wallet.

Not the best wallet but maybe best exchange currently in PH. Because lots of features they have to use bitcoins in many ways including mobile credits, game credits, bills payment, tuition fees payment, easy withdrawals with lots of options etc. no doubt that the majority of bitcoin users in the PH used the exchange. But remember NOT as a bitcoin wallet.

Just use their features and services, only on that purpose and not as a bitcoin storage.

For OP, Try also those bitcoin desktop wallets and sees what fits with everybody's standard. It's only ourselves who can tell what's the best wallet for us.

In deciding the wallet that you are going to used you need to consider the country where you lived in because not all wallet is working on all the country. Like coinbase for others it is a good wallet because it has etherium coins and you can do forex trading analysis there but if you will used coinbase in the Philippines it said that it is not supported there. So for me coin.ph is the wallet that is more preferable to used in that specific country. So the answer may be subjective in terms of country where individual live in but for me all wallet is good it just depends on how you will manage and hold your bitcoins.

I can advise Xapo (Lightweight purse bitcoin, bribing to the extreme with minimalist design, simplicity and speed of work).
MultiBit (the minus of this product is low confidentiality, which increases the theoretical threat from intruders).
And naturally it's the Bitcoin Kore, + you can still Armory (a special solution for paranoid who are looking for how to create a bitcoin purse of an ultimatum level of security and reliability).

Coins.ph is a great wallet. One of my friend suggest me this wallet. also coins.ph offer .50 php for sign up.But the problem that i faced is,They asked me about my NID (national id card). So why i am not using this wallet.
Correct coins.ph is great wallet with great services offer to all users of bitcoin, we can do lot of things in that wallet, even now are getting angry because of the transaction fee but i think that is ok to make sure they can survive for long time because they consider the value of bitcoin.

Ive tried and used that wallet a long time ago but now I stop using this kind of wallet because they are asking for such as identification like ID's and bills for your location. I am a bit disappointed because they are removing the  anonymity of bitcoin. But If you surrender and give your identity to them you will have the privileged to withdraw your money anytime. coins.ph has a good reputation when it comes to withdrawal of money cause most of the choices of withdrawing bitcoin to currency is available to them.

Coinbase is not suggested wallet for anyone. Never store anything in coinbase. Use coins.ph or better is to download electrum, it's a multipurpose wallet and safer than most of the other wallets.
Coinbase is all about exchanging bitcoin for fiat or vice versa, not about storing coins. They are exchange, not wallet. Read this for info: https://blog.coinbase.com/coinbase-is-not-a-wallet-b5b9293ca0e7 (https://blog.coinbase.com/coinbase-is-not-a-wallet-b5b9293ca0e7)

Is your computer Trojaned? Are you sure. Every AMD & Intel processor has a back door, windows has back doors, drive by browser vulnerabilities. Really if you store any amount of coins on a computer, or online account you are crazy.

If the price of a hardware wallet is small compared to how much you are holding you must get your coins off your computer and get one.

I used to use an air gapped laptop running armory, but its too much hassle, so now I use a Trezor to store coins, and for small amounts Bread Wallet on non-jailbroken iOS.

If you must use computer based wallets, make sure you keep the machine clean, no warez, pirate stuff, porn etc, dodgy shareware or freeware etc. But for me, its not worth it.

Xapo now is for faucet ang games payout only. I used xapo before byt I stopped using this because I dont know why many people for sure not use xapo only little people can use this. Well for me the best bitcoin wallet is coins.ph it is our local online wallet here in the Philippines,
You could easily sell and buy some bitcoin through it and you could cash out instantly and the best part is you could withdraw even if you don't have an ATM card,
You could use the card less in their option for cashing out your bitcoin or Php.

The famous bitcoin faucet now can be a bitcoin wallet?
Indeed! And it's the only online wallet paying you for the risk you take to now own your private keys. Think about that.

if the online wallet we will used is regulated and a registered company which freebitco.in isn't?
According to whom?

In terms of transactions fees to those exchanges mentioned in all the quoted post here in my post, coins.ph, Coinbase and XAPO don't charge fees if the transfer is between their premises. The charges are applied if you will transfer bitcoin to an outgoing address.

I recommend bitcoin-core itself is good. You have complete control for your bitcoins. For web related, you can check coinbase.
I just started hearing about desktop wallets of recent. I have been using block chain for a while now, with some few transactions without glitches. Nevertheless, from what I have been reading so far since I joined this forum, it isn't a good idea using Web wallets for security reasons.

What are then the pros and cons of lightweight and heavyweight desktop wallets? what are the differences with respect to Web wallet? which server keeps your coin balance. I have checked online for answers but I couldn't understand much being a lame man. I won't mind simple and practical answers.

Yeah, most of the users here at least have a single wallet in the blockchain.info, and I too have always felt this to be the best wallet as well has the simple interface. With this even a first time user can use it easily without much complications.

Can't say there are any best bitcoin wallet since they're optimized for different usage or devices, but here's wallet that i think it's great :
1. Mobile wallet : Mycelium
2. SPV Desktop wallet : Electrum
3. Desktop wallet : Bitcoin Core

I don't have any hardware wallet, so i don't know what's the best hardware wallet and i can't say any online bitcoin wallet is the best bitcoin wallet, especially centralized ones.

There is no perfect wallet.  There are some things that you need to think about.  Do you want the whole block chain on your PC?  There are online wallets, wallets that require the entire block chain to download and those that do not.  If you do not have a reason for using the block chain, then do not go with that as it will only slow you down.

If you use a software wallet, make sure that you make a back up of the wallet.dat, record your 12 word phrase and keep both of those safe.  Anything that ever happens to the computer and especially the hard drive could mean the permanent loss of your coins and that is forever, no one, not even Satoshi himself could get them back. Care  should be taken with desktop wallets keys and then you are good to go.

There is no best or worst (except online wallets which you should avoid for obvious reasons) but what fits you better.
If you want something simple and easy to use I recommend Electrum, if you are going to store a big amount of BTC and need more safety go for a hardware wallet, Ledger Nano and Nano s are both very good and worth their money.

Point taken, having a different addresses will make my coins more secure, one of the moderator of this forum already told me that there is a possibility of web wallets closing down for a certain reasons, every web wallets are dangerous tho.

this coins.ph has a good feature of directly converting BTC into Peso or Peso into BTC and cashing out real money with so much options. But I gues there are some laws that prohibited large amount of money to avoid money laundering, I guess. I do hope there is something similar with in USD.

That is why the veteran people here at Bitcoin community always say diversify. You store your Bitcoin in a hardware wallet which is very secure and if you ever want it to spend or be able to use it in different ways you may consider storing small amount of Bitcoin in a hot wallet. In this way, you'll be in safe side or should I say secure yourself against this possibilities that might breakout without knowing beforehand.

If you passed their KYC and send all the required documents then no worries if you cashout the maximum withdrawal available at your tier. Why in the first place they will show you that a certain amount is your maximum if it's prohibited by the law.

AFAIK, the maximum amount available in coins.ph to be withdraw is really a large money. The only concern here is the maximum amount per day and depends on what method will you choose for withdrawals as other withdrawal methods have daily limit at their own premises.

I use Blockchain as a wallet that used every day. Blockchain.info allows you to send / receive Bitcoins through your browser or mobile phone. This is what's known as a hybrid wallet - meaning the company stores your wallet online but they do not have access to your private keys, and is not that hard for a new user to use also.

Some of the advantages:
Your private keys are encrypted and never leave your computer.
Offers the option of cold storage.
Your funds can be recovered from a secret phrase.
Electrum Wallet verifies all the transactions in your history using SPV.
And it is lightweight. By that I mean it does not use all the storage space on my computer.

I have Blockchain and another using our country local wallet coins.ph is quite popular it does have a lot of future and developments. The support team were cooperative too.
there are some local wallets too, i think that one you have been said wallet is your country's wallet for bitcoin, it depends on what you want as long as you are securing your money or your bitcoin too much, choose a wallet that will secured your bitcoin there and a high security feautures, it is important than everything else.

I can not understand that why are you not preferring blockchain because I am using blockchain since 2014 and never faced even a single issue so far. However, I would recommend using web wallet only for the regular transactions and not for the long term storage. I think a securely generated paper wallet is better than hardware wallet in terms of cost, ease of use and security.

Well, MyCelium isn't a bad wallet, but it is suited for mobile and it isn't very safe, unlike other desktop wallets or other online wallets. For storing smaller amounts, MyCelium isn't bad, but for bigger amounts, I would recommend thinking about cold storage.

Personally, I would recommend using Electrum, since it is paper light and also free. It also offers custom transaction fees which are useful. When you get bigger amounts of Bitcoin, getting a hardware wallet like Ledger Wallet or Trezor, wouldn't be a bad call at all.

Blockchain is not a good place to store your Bitcoins on. If the website or server ever goes down, your funds are GONE. You don't even have access to your own private keys.. which is wrong. Best thing you can do is use a hardware wallet or the BTC Core wallet. Never use websites.. we know how much money has been lost from them.

I recommend MyCelium Bitcoin Wallet

What's yours?

Mycelium bitcoin wallet is good option for current situation. This wallet can open up private keys plus the associated address so you can use it in the august situation to save your bitcoins on it. For me the favourite wallet is electrum. It also works with private keys and provides far greater security. You can handle your own bitcoin and nobody wil question you. Best one to use during August month.

I use Electrum and continue to recommend it to all.

True, electrum is a very nice wallet even the most perfect, but I think it's only suitable we use if bitcoin balance is more than 25 btc, if balance is still small I prefer to use web wallet like blockchain or xapo.

i have been using blockchain wallet on mobile for a year, but since may when traffic transaction busy, i leave store btc on mobile.
i choosing to saving it on separate wallet as if there is problems in anyone of storage, i would not lost it all. maybe next i would take possibility to save on paper wallet.

In my opinion the best wallet is the cold wallet
You keep your bitcoin on the hard drive and after you put it in the safe, no one can get your bitcoin.
Or you can put it down the banana root near your home, a few years later you dig them up, you will be a rich man

myceleium works great for me and has to be one of the best online wallets out there. The wallet can be a bit complicated for newbie users but it’s still one of the safest and fastest on the market. As an open source software program, it is constantly being upgraded, though it is  primarily a hot wallet, there are some cold storage features for users.

It is quite normal to deal with risk in the world of Bitcoin. And I agree that if you deal with storing of Bitcoin you should not stick on just one wallet because in order for you to lessen the risk you should also have option in term is holdings. And as much as your choices of wallet need to depends on the specific transaction you will do such as trading and investment where you need to deals with price monitor not just on converting Bitcoin to fiat. So the thing is wallet choice need also to depend on the transaction you will made.

Actually the number of wallets where you store your bitcoins has nothing to do to lessen the risk but the right choice of wallet, to use those wallets efficiently. Online wallet such as mentioned above is a good one to pay your bills but not as a storage which like the person who also stated above to be stored in Electrun or Mycelium which is a hardware and lightweight wallet respectively since you have full control of your bitcoins.

Blockchain is a very good online wallet but Blockchain have a very large fee. Try to wear the Electrum wallet. The offline wallet has a better security level than online wallet(i think).

which is a hardware and lightweight wallet respectively since you have full control of your bitcoins.

The best yet secured wallet for me is electrum. It can be downloaded in your smart phone or in desktop.
Its an offline wallet and you will hold your private keys here. Choose wallet that have private keys or seeds so you're the only one that will have access to this. Dont use wallets that have third party as it's not so secured so don't store huge amount in there.

I use electrum wallet on my pc which is quiet easy to setup and use. And on my android phone I use bitcoin code and zebpay( Indian bitcoin exchange app and bitcoin wallet).

What's wrong with Blockchain?
I'm a newbie, but I have a Blockchain wallet. Should I move my Bitcoin?

It's only as secure as the machine you're accessing it with. Are you 100% confident that no one is keylogging or screengrabbing you? I don't think anyone can do that so it's better to move.

They've had quite a few glitches too and their fee system seems to be struggling to stay relevant too.

I see, thanks.
I barely have any Bitcoin, but I will move them somewhere else at some point.
Can someone also bypass the authenticator as well?

I have been using blockchain since I have started my signature campaign. Do I really need to replace my blockchain wallet account even if I have 2FA on it? How come they are not secure? I haven't tried a withdrawal yet.

I was use bitcoin core wallet at my window it's an offline wallet and it's need a big harddisk space too it's need around 100 gb hdd space i think. But i use that wallet because i comfortable and already familiar with it because I also have hdd space that's big enough too and it's actually a safe place too, to keep your bitcoin safe.
But there's also Electrum is good to use too and it's not really need a very big place like Bitcoin core

So i recomend to use
Bitcoin core or Electrum

I recommend bitcoin-core itself is good. You have complete control for your bitcoins. For web related, you can check coinbase.
Yeah, Bitcoin core is the best wallet for bitcoins but what about the huge size . I once tried to download it and it took me around 8 hours then it crashed without completeing the download(became corrupted) so i  use electrum which is super light weight compared with bitcoin core. I agree coinbase is a good wallet too but you shouldn't deposit large amount of bitcoins there .

Here in our country coins.ph are the most reliable and the most used wallets when it becomes to bitcoins and peso also. You can instantly convert you bitcoins into peso and you can also transfer it into other devices or convert it into load. You can also easily cash out it in a bank without having a card, they called it a cardless withdrawal. And it is pretty convenient here in our country.

there is a lot of excitement around those wallets that every user uses. Everywhere and everywhere there is information about what needs to be changed and use several wallets for all kinds of tasks. Even if you work for the signature of the company, they say that you need to use a purse for each company. I also think that this is nonsense crazy and does not have a huge role for security. As far as I understand, all the security of our wallets depends on the security of the keys to all Bitcoin or other purses.

Because if you diversify your coins into different wallets we find it more secured than storing only in one wallet.

You should have a bitcoin wallet in your desktop and don't put all the bitcoins or your money in online wallet because they are not worth it to trust. For us Filipino, the only bitcoin available I know is Coins.ph, it allows us to do some transaction and also allows ua to convert bitcoin to our local currency. There are lots choices offered like converting bitcoin to prepaid load, there are also available transaction between electric and cable fee.The conversion of it into fiat can be redeemed from local money changer like Cebuana which makes it easy to access because it is available everywhere. Hoping that in the near future, bitcoin can also be used at retail stores.

Why MyCelium? I mean if you are going to suggest the best Bitcoin wallet it would be a good idea to explain why you chose the wallet.

Anyways, I would choose Electrum. I have used Electrum for quite a while now. In the beginning, when I was searching for a wallet I used Blockchain. Their service was good and I still use Blockchain for everyday transactions. But the bulk of my money is in Electrum. Electrum is similar to Bitcoin Core. In my opinion, it is better, because it doesn’t clog up the space in my laptop. I am thinking about switching to a hardware wallet … like a ledger nano or trezor. They are considered more secure to software wallets like Electrum. The problem is they can easily break or become lost. Something I don’t want to happen. If you looking for a wallet, I would recommend Electrum for laptop/desktop and MyCelium for your phone.

I would recommend that you get Bitcoin Core immediately. Do not store bitcoins online, specially now that UASF is coming. Remember that if your wallet is not supporting UASF, you will not recieve the split amount on both chains, only on the chain that the wallet is supporting.

As far as I know mycelium is an offline / online wallet . And about the UASF , for that online wallets were needed according to me . Like blockchain.info , so if you had that wallet then you would have claimed your BCH or BCC.

I always put the 2FA in mail to ensure safe for my account. (that is what you should be careful when you want to use for in Bittrex)

It's really difficult to say which one is the best bitcoin wallet because it really depends on your needs. All have PRO and CONS. So you need to take some time, read about everything and decide which one is suitable for your needs.

But mycelium is very good offline / online wallet.
I use Electrum to store bigger amouns and on the fly I use some online wallets.

Good luck with it  :)

I used electrum, but recently I moved moved all over Bittrex, on Bittrex I can trade and make a profit, the transaction fee is also reasonable when I want to sell BTC.
I always put the 2FA in mail to ensure safe for my account. (that is what you should be careful when you want to use for in Bittrex)

bittrex is an exchanger site, it's not bitcoin wallet dude. saving all your fund in exchanger is not a good idea due to big of risk. in my point of view you should use back electrum for keeping your bitcoin balance for long term. exchanger only match to trade not for keep bitcoin in long enough time.

First I have used web wallet but after a while I got to all bad sides that is has so I don't use it aymore. And those wallets have the worst securtiy and are the most vulnerable so I don't recommend them. At the moment I have Mycelium and I have to say that it's the best wallet I had. Secure, easy to use, you can have full control on everything, so this is my recommendation.

Mycelium is the best one to me. Though I'm a jr. Member but I have seen my Friends using this and they given a great review about this wallet.
It is very secure and has key pattern securities.

I use paperwallets for storing my bulk Bitcoin and I use Exodus for small storage

Definitely Electrum. It has a very user friendly UI and it has much of the controls that I need, without confusing me. It shows me intermediate features, which I really need and appreciate, and I really think some of the experienced settings in some other wallets may be overwhelming for beginners.
It allows me to dynamically control the transaction fees, and it helps me as I almost always deal with very small transactions, and a higher, static transaction fees would hurt me a lot.

It is also pretty secure, and offer a lot of backup solutions, and the security is definitely solid, I'd recommend it for any beginners or intermediate BTC users.

I prefer to use blockchain its save and easy to use and i use it for around 2 years now and i never had a problem with it.
I have not checked all wallets yet so i cant tell you that this is the best wallet.
Yes right, I think blockchain.info is the best wallet with the smallest fee when compared to other web wallet. besides blockchain.info I also recommend using xapo and coinbase.

I recommand hardware Wallet its a physical electronic devied for the sole purpose to secure your bitcoins. You have to connect it to your computer before spending bitcoins. There's 3 type of best hardware wallet which are

    Ledger Nano S
    KeepKey
    Trezor

I recommend bitcoin-core itself is good. You have complete control for your bitcoins. For web related, you can check coinbase.
Well, I think all wallet are the best wallet and I think you should use more two wallet. In addition to that, using online wallet can really help you to kwep your bitcoin safe and secure and by using it you can control your all bitcoin. Lastly, you can also use hardware wallet that you need to install to your computer.

I think the best wallet is the offline wallet that bitcoin.org has provided, I think if you want security that's really guaranteed, that's the only way.

Actually what you have done is wrong because electrum wallet is the best, light weight and secure wallet. Bittrex is a exchange where keeping coins for trading is good but for long term as wallet is not safe. Even if you use 2fa in mail then also what if Bittrex exchange itself get hacked then all the datas of the users and wallet keys can be stolen and you can do nothing because you are not having control of the wallet keys with you.

If you don't have much money to buy a coldstorage wallet I think Electrum is the best option for you cause it's an offline wallet that mean you can totally control all your bitcoin because you're the only one have your wallet private key, if you use web wallet it's still fine but with some web wallet you have to pay too much for transaction fee but with Electrum you can set up the amount of transaction fee you wanna pay.

Before I use electrum, I always use blockchain as main wallet !
But after blockchain decide to disable pay to many feature, I changed my main wallet into electrum since it's smooth and have many feature that I'm looking for

I would recommend that you get Bitcoin Core immediately. Do not store bitcoins online, specially now that UASF is coming. Remember that if your wallet is not supporting UASF, you will not recieve the split amount on both chains, only on the chain that the wallet is supporting.

In fact, there are lot of people of people who already use online wallet because it is very easy to use. Furthermore, using online wallet will help you to transfer money easily and instantly. However, some people prefer to use offline wallet or also called hardware wallet.

I am now using MyCelium Bitcoin Wallet.
because it can better guarantee me in receiving and using bitcoin transactions

i too feel blockchain is not so secured. I remember my friend saying that his blockchain.info wallet was hacked. We have coinbase and other desktop wallets being so secured.

The best bitcoin wallet for me is coins.ph which is very famous here in the Philippines because you can use this wallet to pay your bills at home, you can also use it to provide yourself a prepaid load, and it is very safe to store all of your bitcoins. And the other bitcoin wallet that I've been using is blockchain which is very known than my other wallet and it is very safe to use it too.

The best in my opinion is the Ledger Nano S. Not only for Bitcoin but other Altcoins.

Completely agreed on this one. This is the most secure so far.

Pretty satisfied with Electrum since I started with crypto. It has never failed me and its security its top notch. Can't complain.

Currently using Jaxx for other altcoins, good wallet, never understood the hate it received for its "security flaw"

After the initial step of buying your first bitcoin, you will need a Bitcoin wallet in which to secure your bitcoin. Knowing which Bitcoin wallet to choose is the second most important step in becoming a Bitcoin user. Since you are investing funds into Bitcoin, choosing the right Bitcoin wallet for you is a critical step that shouldn’t be taken lightly. There are many wallets to choose from, including Bitcoin.com’s Official Wallet.
In this guide we will take you through the top items in our checklist we recommend reviewing before making the decision to choose a Bitcoin wallet. Remember, these are just suggestions to help you make an educated decision. In the end, things can always change based on the wallet and the market. But doing your homework first is highly encouraged.

I recommend the best wallet at my country Philippines named coins.ph. it is the most usable bitcoin wallet here in the Philippines because it is more convenient to use and it is very trusted to store all of your bitcoins here. There are no such disadvantage that you will ever meet here because it is the best wallet.
