Safe Remote Purchases and Escrows If you wish to buy from a stranger online, you are required to trust that stranger honors their agreement in sending the goods. Similarly, the seller must trust the buyer is honest about receiving the goods. With smart contracts, the system becomes trustless as both parties must uphold their agreement to receive the goods or funds. With BlockCAT, anybody can set up these contracts on a per-use-basis without needing to write a single line of code, opening up the world of trustless online purchasing and other forms of escrows without the need for centralized systems. Tamper Resistant Polls and Voting Traditional online polling systems have weak trust and are vulnerable to attack due to their centralized nature. Polls as smart contracts can provide strong and transparent voting systems that operate completely autonomously. Decentralizing the entire process guarantees that miscounts of ballots are impossible. Additionally, the immutable and open nature of the blockchain means that anybody can audit the process and verify the results independently. BlockCAT ensures that this process is painless to setup and eliminates the need to manually program each poll, transforming the lengthy and tedious process into just a few clicks on our platform. Auctions Online auctions are vulnerable to many methods of user manipulation. Both bidders and sellers can fail to uphold their promise to pay or deliver goods once the auction has ended. Malicious users or bots can place fictitious bids to artificially inflate prices, and throw the bidding process into disarray. Centralized auction services can fail to resolve user conflicts and freeze funds for large amounts of time. BlockCAT will prevent these problems through decentralized smart contracts, ensuring all parties involved must conduct the auction in a fair and transparent way. Proof of Existence Typically, in order to certify ownership or existence of an item or idea, a centralized party must serve as an authoritative source of truth that others must trust. Using smart contracts, this ownership data can be written permanently into the blockchain, where it remains extremely resistant to malicious change or accidental data loss. BlockCAT makes it easy for anyone to perform proof of existence, by providing externally verifiable procedures for anybody to confirm the block-chain data is valid. Crowdfunding Platforms such as Kickstarter or IndieGoGo are popular places to provide the initial funds for large scale projects. However, the project creators have little to no accountability to actually create and deliver their proposed project. BlockCAT will provide smart contract based crowdfunding that guarantee accountability on the creators. This additional trust throughout the whole crowdfunding system will therefore encourage more money to be invested into projects. Additionally, BlockCAT will provide payment platform integrations so funders not holding digital currencies can effortlessly contribute. I've a few ideas for smart contracts but I am not yet savvy enough to write confidently execute them (outside of a testnet with real money on the line). Need to read over the whitepaper for more details but I like the concept a lot. While this has been a fairly dramatic week in the crypto world, our team has been all-hands-on-deck preparing for the launch of our first complete smart contract. We recently designed a smart contract that we believe solves a very real problem crypto users experience today. We’re not ready to announce what it is, or how it works, because to our knowledge, there is no other service that solves this problem. Being first to market is very important in this situation, and we’re very close to release. Product Development Here’s our notes directly from the Dev team. Dev Notes The contract we alluded to last week is all-but-ready. While we have deployed it to the blockchain, tested the appropriate functionality and built out a good user experience, we’re looking forward to do a deep-dive security review and polish up all the edges. This project has included considerable reusable UX work for future contract development — functionality like representing Ethereum addresses with their blockies. Work for producing automated unit and integration tests for the whole flow, from UX to the smart contracts, has been started and the first steps of integrating React-driven UIs with Web3-driven smart contracts have been done. Transaction Survey Results Last week we released a Crypto Transaction Survey which gathered a huge amount of attention from our community. We received a vast number of responses, which gave us a fascinating insight into when/how users transact their cryptocurrency. Here are some survey insights: 74% of users own the private key to their wallet (eg: MEW, Ledger) 94% worry about making a mistake when sending crypto. 11% have actually sent their crypto to the wrong address (ouch!) These statistics paint a very telling picture. Based on the answers provided, this would indicate that 1 in 10 people have sent crypto to the wrong address. With transaction values ranging from $1,000 (8% of respondents) all the way to $50,000 (3% of respondents), it’s clear just how potentially devastating this could be for the crypto community. Here are a few firsthand accounts of what happens in this scenario: “Sent 300 dollars to an address with 1 different digit on accident.” “The address auto filled and I thought I pasted the address, was careless and didn’t check… so it’s gone.” “Gave ICO wrong address, so they sent it to wrong wallet.” This is a fairly critical pain point that, if solved, could have a tremendous impact on the industry by instilling a higher level of trust for the accuracy and frequency of future crypto transactions. Continuing Education In the interest of spreading awareness and educating others on what blockchain technology can do, our legal guru David Kemp presented to a community of lawyers this week about the various legal issues surrounding crypto, token sales and smart contracts. The key takeaway was that despite the general lack of knowledge of how blockchain works from a technical level, there is no doubt of the potential applications and the vast impact it will have on traditional industries. Unfortunately, it’s difficult for professionals in these industries to gain the education and training required to take advantage of this technology, despite the willingness to learn. We’re looking forward to the day that crypto becomes even more more accessible in a safe and functional way. But the product itself is not released yet and is has to be adopted too. Other then that, there is no volume on Cryptopia for Blockcat, so a exchange with better volume would be nice to for liquidation.

At one time I was very worried that my investments could be lost So was I and sold my holdings at a good time. Unfortunately I didn't sell at the all time high of +$6 but I flipped this coin so many times made many times my investment so can't complain. It's actually looking like a solid project now so might get back in. How is this still a sub-5m cap? Any success at all = 20x, but it interesting that it's not already halfway there with all of these updates. I'm also surprised, but one day people will see it's potential 8) Agree. When the market turns bull you will definitely see more movement again. This is currently a sleeper with huge potential. Community is important, exchange is not....only newbs think that getting listed on binance will save a coin You do realize that this time last year the buzz was all about poloniex and getting listed there right? The hot centralized exchange comes and goes, all that matters is whether or not there is liquidity. BlockCAT has liquidity, people can easily buy and sell on cryptopia. Around 4200 sats right now down from its all time high of 50k sats, looks like a good buy. Chart looks very similar to ERC-20 projects that came out last year. Wouldn't be surprised to see this 10-20x in the next two years. Especially if developers are able to easily utilize their platform.
