I'm trying to get some opinions on high Litecoin can go this year.
I've just started a poll on Twitter.

I don't use Twitter, but I could see it going as high as $90-100 by the year's end.

It might reach $80 by the end of the year. Litecoin has a history of remaining 'calm' for sometime and then explodes to a new high before dropping again. I never expected Ether to overtake Litecoin in market cap so fast. By the way Litecoin is heavily traded on OKCoin. The Chinese love it.

I don't know about the end of year, but there is a certain mysterious countdown and uncertainty about what is gonna happen in August, so the price will rise for sure. I think $70, being conservative.

I think the minimum can be 80-100$ in a few months, because of the hype and the sudden increase of development

If you look at the charts, LTC has been, overall, in an uptrend for a while now.  ETH is in a downtrend as I think its taking a breather after its massive upward move and Bitcoin seems to be consolidating.  I think when BTC takes off again we'll see some profit taking and more money coming into LTC.  I could see LTC reaching $100 this year.

Much depends on Charlie Lee. His return to Litecoin has pushed the price and the expectations. I am sceptical he could bring Litecoin up to an level so that it could compete with other more advanced coins. Yesterday I read the following article on Coindesk "Life After Coinbase: Can Charlie Lee Keep Litecoin's Revival Alive? My suggestion is: always hold some LTC. If you are a lover, up to 40% of your portfolio. Otherwise 15-10% as a lower bound.
For the price, I agree with 100 USD this year.

I hope so, The hardfork + blocksize increase of bitcoin will have made the litecoin will be useless. I know if those are using it to be the second way of bitcoin but it can gets a big dump anytime like what was happened in 2015.
I will not be having a big expectation about that.

Litecoins future is indirectly dependent on how well bitcoin does come the first of August. Should things unfold well for bitcoin and it recovers its dominance in the cryptospace litecoin will keep trading below 100 dollars

I had not thought of that but I think you're right,maybe it would only be useful in case something went wrong,but I do not think that happens like this,developers have had plenty of time to develop all possible scenarios about hardfork and blocksize,so despite the disagreements between the community and the long time elapsed before a solution was proposed and accepted by most,that will be reflected in a few weeks from now.

And since you like BTC so much, instead of destroying Litecoin I think You should more focus on the difficulties BTC is having in resolving his scaling issue and SegWit activation. Which by the way LTC has activated successfully with out all that craziness.

$100 is very achievable considering Charlie Lee is behind it. I don't know how LTC is a shitcoin when it's a top 5 coins.

Life after coinbase means he now could focus on the development of a more stable and reliable litecoin adding more team members to his group. So the dip can not anymore happen again. I am hoping so.

Sorry friend , here I am not a user of the Twitter because of the limitations of the mobile specifications and also due to no community of friends at the Twitter .
But still I would like to tell you to get better advice about the litecoin .
In the starting of the year the litecoin get famouse much but due to some new coins in the market the people just forget the litecoin but currently the increase in the activity of the team of the litecoin made them famouse and increase in the price .
As you may know that the owner of the litecoin leaved his job from coinbase to focus in better way at litecoin , so probably here the chances for the litecoin to go up are more .
So overall my prediction for the litecoin is about 150$ at the end  , which is not a big price according to the history price of the  litecoin .

I dint think that one persons entry will make this much change . I am telling about lee who left Coinbase and joined LiteCoin now its growing . I hope by this year end it will reach atleast 100K if current trend goes . If fails anywhere then it will reach around 25$ where it started.

I think there's a definite possibility that people will go to Litecoin to hedge against Bitcoin over the coming month or two.  It has remained pretty strong throughout the major retracement thats hit pretty much the whole market.

It is quite hard to guess anything in crypto but,
I think litecoin's stability will give it chance in front of lot other coins. $50 to $100.

I love litecoin and I believe the price will be 100 dollars before end of this year so what are you waiting for? With the return of Chatlie Lee to the core dev team sure LTC can have long term support.

Do not be so worried about the value of litecoin, be patient, it's a really durable coin, it's like a copy of bitcoin, although it was forgotten before, but it was noticeable. When segwit succeeds, I believe its value will continue to increase in the future.

It depends on what the developer for that coin does. If the dev wants the coin to be added to a bunch more Bitcoin exchanges then the price of Litecoin could get more stable. If Litecoin actually gets added as a payment option in the store then they are more than likely to look at the prices on Bitcoin exchanges that are popular so the price could get manipulated a little bit because there would be much less Litecoin on that exchange.

It's very possible. They need to make money on both sides, by buying and selling. They need to sell till death and accumulate cheaper later. Litecoin is overpriced now. Wait until they dumped their big stash and then buy for long term from cheap price.

The ltc mining difficulty should skyrocket early august as one of the first sold out l3+ preorders from bitmain are shipped, in the past difficulty increases can cause prices to go up with other alts.

In my opinion litecoin can surpass 100$ very soon.
It has shown lots of strength in dip.

Honestly don't see LTC appreciating very long after the August 1 deadline. Likely scenario is fud will die once everything comes together smoothly, and LTC's role as apocalypse currency diminishes significantly. Expect at least a sustained price until Aug 1 followed by a crash.

Litecoin will stay much much faster than Bitcoin with New stuff coming soon. There is no crash to come.

It might reach $50 in the short term, but my gut feeling is that it is heading lower.

Most of litecoin investors and Chinese investors are mentioning about $100, but I never think that litecoin could hit that price. The current price is an excellent exit price for me. Litecoin is such a trashy one without development.

$100 is a bit of a stretch, maybe $50-60 is possible, but for litecoin to reach $100, bitcoin would need to hit at least $5000 for that to take place.

Yeah. I think 100$ is too much, I'm thinking around the ballpark of 50$-70$ dollars at least. Right now I see that the price is around 43$ so I doubt it can peak at 100$. Let's just wait what will be the effect of the Aug 1 event. LTC has been in the market for the longest  time as far as I can remember, Charlie going back? I dunno what will be the effect. I hope he joining will push the price to at least 70$ before crashing again.

that is what many expect but the market may react differently:

1. btc survives, quickly moves over 3000$, towards 5000$
2. FOMO buyers will turn to cheaper cryptos, LTC (and others) will be snapped up by people who are not willing to pay $5000 for a bitcoin

Litecoin held on to alot of its value while other coins took a big hit recently.  Started losing value towards the end though.  If Bitcoin stabalises before 1st August then I think all coins will get a nice pump as well, but we haven't seen a mass migration of Bitcoin $$ into Litecoin as a refuge.

What exactly is litecoins reason to exist, i have never ever used it, it is old tech. What on earth is it still around for. We have Bitcoin that's use is widely spread and that i personaly use. Then there is pointless LTC.

I think monet is entering to bitcoin and there won't be a whole pump where bitcoin and altcoins are rising. As bitcoin grows, litecoin will lose its value this time.

I highly doubt that, it has been trending downward in the last days/week and I don't really see that changing any time soon. What it needs is a catalyst to catapult it upward. Not sure what that catalyst would be though.

LN integration will really change perspective on LTC as scrypt boring coin which is mostly supported by our Chinese friends.. I have the same opinion. The more you wait the bigger reward you get in the crypto world but it is only applicable to bitcoins. As per now, the bitcoins are most likely to touch sky in coming few weeks and those who held them during crisis are definitely going to enjoy this ride. As far as litecoins are considered, they will somehow show some rise.

I don't think litecoin will increase much from its current, people will switch to bitcoin after segwit kicks in.

It's a long road to litecoin before become one of te famous coins in crytocurrencies industry. But I was hoping that litecoin can survive in everyday rally of value in the market. Use this situation and buy LTC while you still can. BTC will rise and again will pull up all Crypto up. I'm not sure why everybody expecting major crash when we can see that opposite is happening right now. BTC won't crash, and BCC is just illusion used for undermining of BTC.

I believe LTC will reach 130 dollars with high volatility on the way. Taking profits at 80-100 would probably be wise, and repurchasing on a pullback to 60. I expect an interim rise to 0.02 and pullback again to 0.012ish before 0.03.

Litecoin has really gone down from past few days it did recover a bit but fell again by end of this year litecoin can go to 150$. That’s quite true. Litecoins are not going to show any huge rise in values. They have very strong competitors in the crypto world. They really need to work hard in order to touch this value. Opposite to this can also happen. They can touch ground instead of sky as bitcoin is the only stronger coin and after Segwit bitcoins are going to attract more people after Segwit.

100 usd by the end of the year seems achievable, but really depends on the general situation of the market, how btc split goes etc.

We are hours away from the bloody fork and BTC is at 2700. This last days uptrend, together with the rest of the market dropping clearly indicates that everyone is dumping alts to enlarge BTC positions and claim their free BCH. Once all this "gimme my bitcoin cash" thingie ends, people will return to buy coins that stilll have not skyrocketed. Litecoin is, in deed, one of this coins. Huge marketcap, undervalued, integrated in most Exchanges and fast to trade.
Bitcoin will be always Bitcoin but not everyone can get 1 BTC and most people wanna get a bunch of coins that tomorrow will make them rich.

That being said: just got some Bitcoins a couple of weeks ago and the tx was 4 hours Unconfirmed despite the fact the fee was fine and mempool was almost empty. Bitcoin is not yet ready to be used as an agile payment system. On the other hand, LTC is fast as hell. You can transfer and get confirmatios within one or two minutes. I am using LTC as the crypto to pay alomst everything in the community and I can see it going to 100USD before 2018.

The simple fact of accepting BTC will reach 10K or 20K makes LTC needed to small transactions.

This alone makes me really like Litecoin as a secure payment vehicle. I can see it being used for a wide range of purposes, from paying for dinner at a restaurant to paying the monthly electric bill.

Until Bitcoin can solve their problem with time, Litecoin has the most potential to be the most useful cryptocurrency.

Yes slowly but surely that's litecoin, I do not think that the performance and litecoin community continues to increase so that prices also skyrocketed. It is time to invest litecoin, buy today and sell at least a year.

It will be up and down for a period of time, then when more and more people realize the potential of it, especially in daily payment, the price will go up drastically.

I think the minimum price Litecoin is going to reach before the end of the year is 60 dollars and the maximum will be 80 dollars, Litecoin like most alts is going to go up after a bitcoin rally begins, I think things are going to be slow for some time in Litecoin, probably the pump is not going to happen until October but I will watch the market more closely in the next days and weeks since I have some small holdings.

Does anyone here think it will take a long time for litecoin to go up?  I got a decent amount of litecoin at 50 dollars.  But so far all it has done is go down to 39 dollars and then go back up but basically there is nothing going on with this coin.  Would you say if it goes up, it will take a very long time for it to do that?  Would you say it would be smart to just trade litecoin for another coin because of this?

Although the price of Litecoin in recently down to around $40-$30, but I heared some rumor about in September Litecoin will announce they will become to altcoin for ICO as Ethereum and can create token for ICO market. So, I think we can waiting until this time for confirm right or wrong ^^.

The use case is indeed small as it is for almost all cryptos.... However, as the mining is rather centralized any improvement to be made is rather easy from consensus so they will be adressing scalling problems and the coin will experience spikes as it did with Segwit. I think it will remain a store of value when BTC faces problems.
that being said, I´m not an LTC long  holder, rather a medium term bag holder.

I had bought some Litecoin in purpose of hedging Bitcoin during fork issue. I mad some loss on it, now Bitcoin seems bullish, I sold and moved into Bitcoin. Sorry to see that LTC  looks bearish.

I'm getting bored with Litecoin...

So many other coins headed to the moon (including BTC) while LTC barely moves. I know stability is a good sign and I dont want to just sound like another volatility junkie, but I just feel that it will always be outpaced by BTC, and eventually by multiple other coins that have a top 5 market caps in sight.

Can someone much smarter than me offer real intelligent speculation on why the move here is to hodl? Sure, it may go only go up from here. But I'd make more capital if it was in BTC or another rising coin.

Litecoin hasn't seen a lot of growth recently but it's holding steady around the $50.  I would have made bigger gains if I had put my money in Etherium during the dip but I'm holding in the hopes the price will go up.  It's a solid coin and it's been around forever.

litecoin price for me is waiting for bitcoin gets stable first then the price will be increase following bitcoin price. the price now is still cheap if we want to buy and after so far, litecoin is giving a proof to us that the old coin will remain as a good coin and will stay as a good coin with big community in cryptocurrency.

It is up to you and your style of trading, if you are more the trader that likes to take action then cutting your losses now may be a good option, to be honest I’m a trader that can wait for months if necessary in order to get my profits, since more than a trader I’m a holder so I do not mind if my investments are not doing well for a long time but that is my style when I trade you need to find your own.

I think litecoin will reach $ 200 this year, patiently waiting, I believe its market value will exceed eth.

My best guess is LTC exploring slowly new range  $50-100 this fall. I don't think it would be 2X-more pump suddenly.

Litecoin may get aet above $175. Before the end of this year and we may see it above $60 by next week. Bitcoin is going upward now so many traders may likely convert bitcoin to litecoin for taking profit. Actually, Litecoin can't breakdown under 0.01 BTC if the market not breakdown bubble growth in this year.

I agree with you . In the past month, I have not seen any signs of a rise in Litecoin, which left investors out of the market. I think investing in Ethereum will be more stable because it has more potential than LItecoin

Don't know about the price going high for now it is purely getting dumped don't enter now I'm sure price is gonna fall more maybe the best entry point $25 or even low maybe people are done with their profits we will have to wait for the next wave this can take 4 months if you already bought don't sell for loss it's of no use.

Litecoin is one altcoin has a large volume on trade. Buyers and sellers will equally seek to direct this altcoin. At least LTC is worth a much more valuable direction, eg at 0.2btc each.

I think it may be a good time to invest in litecoin, with the upcoming fork in November I think there is a big chance the price of bitcoin goes lower and Litecoin goes up for the single reason none of this drama is happening at the moment in the litecoin community also if the worst case scenario happened and bitcoin did not survive the fork, something very unlikely, then a lot of that money will go to litecoin.

Now almost all altcoin prices have dropped drastically, so does LTC. And i agree with you it seems like good time to buy LTC as both investment and trading.

Yeah, Litecoins are also not bad choice for investment. Among the altcoins, litecoins have also very good support in the crypto market and there are probably chances for it to rise in value in the coming years. I am not sure whether it would be able to reach the mentioned value soon, but at least within few years litecoins are there.

in my opinion litecoin is the real undervalued coin for now, when bitcoin hit $1300 at first time in 2013 litecoin worth $45, litecoin has a real value for $135 atleast when bitcoin hit $4000, i dont understand why litecoin still in $45-$50 range, maybe whale still accumulate it before they pump it ? only time will tell us..

I think announced partnership with WireX will let LTC to go up from the local downtrend and maybe even refresh february and december prices. After all, previous LTC pump had place after the news about LitePay VISA Cards. And now we finally can see them come true under the other brand.

All depends on real usage: if they succeed to build payment system to pay in the real world they will go to the moon. They united with MCO as I know.

Considering that the coin makes transactions four times faster than the pioneer and also since Segwit activation, the transactions are much more speedier.

it's unclear where you get such optimistic predictions. This is not the first time I've ever seen a topic on litecoin, where it responds rather negatively and says that this coin can already end its existence.

Another reply with predictions without any foundation or info. As always, the only honest answer is: hopefully as high as possible but no-one can tell.

I hope Litecoin max price will back at the mid-year. At the end of the year LTC will already cost $700 in my prediction.

It seems LiteCoin is seriously aiming to be available on every crypto debit card. Some people like litcoin very much but for me it is just a test net for bitcoin. Charlie lee the founder of litecoin sold all his litcoin and now he is very very rich he just dumped on people and I will never forget about it.

Why is everyone talking about litecoin these days? That coin does have potential but do not put your hope on that coin.Anything can happen, the only plus that coin has got is being able to act like a currency.
But bitcoin(or any other coin) might be used more than litecoins.So anything can happen.

Since we don't really know far a certain crypto can go in the future whether it will go down or go up but i am having a good sense of  feeling that it will eventually grow about 500$ next year or in 2020s because Litecoin has once reached an all time high of 370$ before it went down to just 80$ as of this writing.
