hello!


according my vision  bitcoin is in high price assimilate last years , and there is many alt-coin still profitable more than bitcoin like ETH an LTC

so could we say bitcoins overrated for investing ? if not ,what was the best price for investing ?

are alt-coin better than btc in trading ? why ?

i create this topics to get your advices to start my own investissement ! thanks for replying

Ethereum and other altcoins are the best "short term trading".
these are a little different. you can buy bitcoin and hold it and with a good confidence know that you will make profit in long term. and so far this has been true. bitcoin price has been rising in the long term.

with altcoins this is not true. in long term they have been failing, all of them. but since altcoins specially ether are pump and dumps it makes them very good for short term trading.
you buy them low and in a short while (from 1 day to a week) you gain a big profit and dump them to get out before their prices fall again.

If you can see on which growth are pretty more faster bitcoin will surely excel on that but if you want to earn huge and have safe investmentment then you must go to both of that coins since that one is so good to put our money with and we can trust that price would climb up since they are the top of the best crypto around.

And one thing I could advice you is save some percentage for longterm and gamble the remaining little percentage on trading so that you can earn more money nor to have little excitement upon making money with crypto's.

Both are good as an long term investment as people who invested in ETH in last year have made huge profits and even in future it can go more higher so I don't see any risk in investing in ETH but I have more faith and trust in bitcoins as it will always be on the top of the charts.

I disagree with you, ethereum made a remarkable raise in just 2 years. There is a lot of speculations about eth, and even there was many threads in the beginning how eth is a big scam, and other rumor's eth did something and proven it self on altcoin markets.
I don't wish to chose between btc and ETH, we are here to support alt currencies and in my opinion success of one crypto coin is success for other coins too. Look where bitcoin is now, look how many coins are there behind bitcoin and ETH, stronger should help weaker and only like that and with working together we can conquer the world and defeat current monetary system.
Earn both coins if its possible. In next couple years both of this coins will bring profit for people who use them.

Bitcoin is the best in all cryptocurrency cause it acts as the bases of all altcoins including ETH and LTC.

It depends on what you believe in at the end. Bitcoin is the poster boy and most everyone knows about it, it's more stable in terms of price but that may not be for too long. Ethereum seems to be faster and better, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll quickly pass up BTC. It needs support from the public.

I know that BTC in general is the best.
But wouldn't ETH be more safe investment in next months in case of BTC hardfork. Then BTC will fall down for at least few month but there is a chance ETH to keep the value.

well you will get a lots of replied here but for sure it won't help you since we all have our own perceptions regarding to this investment, if you are a long term holder better to stick with bitcoin but if you love to play with a day trade go inside the alt sections and study those alt coins which can bring good and usable uses, eth can
be a good choice too there's ltc, stratis waves and a lots of them who's trying to bring their project to success.

Most of the altcoins are only good for short term trading. No one can predict their future or pumps. The present situation in altcoin trading is dominated by pump and dump groups. Its too hard to understand the real potential of a coin, people should stop thinking crypto currencies only as an investment.

BTC is the Best investment "long term". Ethereum is nothing compared to it. Ethereum rose just bcoz of those over invested ICO's. Once ICO's start to liquidate you will know ETH true price.

Bitcoin is the oldest amongst every other cryptocurrency. It has been rising since then and had made most of the people attract towards itself. Ethereum on the other hand came after bitcoin and has made some good trade but not as good as bitcoin. Bitcoin is absolutely a good crypto for long term. Alcoins are good when it comes to short term trading as its prices go up and down very quickly. So the simple strategy is to buy bitcoin, convert them to alcoins and trade. Make profits on short term through altcoins and huge profits on long term through bitcoins. ;)

If you mean ICO shitcoins maybe yes their intented for short term trading since anytime their volumes and price will die but if we mean those at the top of marketcap I don't think your right with that since their are certain coins are their who had promising future and surely we can earn with them if we stake for long term basis.

If your goal is to trade then altcoin is the best choice. Because with a little capital you can maximize the profit you can get. Etherum price is cheaper than bitcoin, so the percentage increase in price will be faster. Look at the benchmark graph ethehrum, etherum has a price that continues to rise and fall. that we can use to benefit from some action.

Considering all crypto world high risk investment, BTC is the less risky so i would put a bigger part in BTC. Moreover, even if BTC fails at solving escalability and fungibility problems it will remain a good choice for storage of value. As for ETH, i think it is a great project but with lots of garbage and projects built on top of it. So when one or two BIG startups mess up, eth will take a serious hit.

I would prioritise Bitcoin for investment. The Ether and Litecoin are nurtured twins who will be playing around the gravity of bitcoin. They will never be able to oppose the force of bitcoin and leave the orbit to become mostly invested coins in the market. The prime reason is bitcoin's potential to grow with green candle on the stock exchange. The rest are assured but they don't have potential to sustain the market. Yup long term investment you can go with Bitcoin. There is a huge price variation b/w 2015 to 2017. One thing is sure the price of the bitcoin will not go down. Means not go like 2015 price. Both is good to invest. Bitcoin gives you high profit in the future and even as of now the price of bitcoin decreasing last few days ago but it will recover again and if you see theprice as of now it will recover again. Ethereum also dump in the last few weeks but I believe it will increase again so its better if you buy ethereum and bitcoin and for sure you will earn a lot of profit after few months or maybe few years of holding of this two coin.

If we see it as higher profit, I guess ethereum is the top ranked altcoins for now and that will really benefit moat of the traders online. Not overrated, bitcoin is still the best cryptocurrency to invest in. After a huge dip in the price due to the coming august 1 the price is still above $2300 and it will surely boost high after august 1. Alt-coins are not better option than bitcoin because after august 1 the price of bitcoin will rise high and many of the altcoins will face a huge fall.

Why not both? Bitcoin is adored worldwide and the highest grossing crypto currency ever. On the other hand, ETH has come up to become a worthy contender, not in pricing but surely in acceptance and market cap. ETH now has the second highest market cap after bitcoin. I mainly arbitrage so I don't really use any altcoins. I use only BTC/USD pair. So can't tell you about altcoins. But there are lot of coins which are good for long term investment like ETH. I have bought few ETH few months back and I am planning to hold them for some more years. Because I have a positive outlook about ETH. Study the market well, and I'm sure you will find a lot of altcoins worth trading. LTC, Ripple, Monero to name a few.

I don't want to unbiased these two type of cryptocurrency. For me, I have first met Bitcoin before I've met to altcoin. I enjoyed my work in bitcoin, but when altcoin came, I got more interested in it. Bitcoin is just only one term but in altcoin, there's a lot of terms they used for it. Since you are just a newbie just try first in bitcoin because in bitcoin you have learned a lot of things. If you think that you don't deserve bitcoin, then decide to choose an altcoin.

plan to earn some tokens, later I plan to exchange those tokens for bitcoins first. I see that both bitcoin and ethereum are good for making money

When comes time for growth into any portfolio, try adding alt-coins into a mix with BTC rather than going with one over another. I have BTC and Doge currently so with added value and exchange rate is seems to make the purity of conversion into its height. If accepted at a payment processor, there's growth by people using that and any combination of the service. Why would you choose an centralized currency that has many flaws and bugs that is controlled by bankers. Yes you can make quick and small profit but only for a short term investment there are no guarantee's that altcoins will last longer while bitcoin is supported by merchant, institutional investors, e-commerce, local and online businesses it is widely used as payment method and countries like japan and Philippines already accepted and legalized it some are looking forward into accepting it like korea and india. It is now a long term investment a safe haven for your assets.

Why not? It's because theirs issue of split happening and people will surely find another safe place where they can convert their coins if this times happen. But their are other guys who looking up both of this coins since the potential to grow are so strong and might we gonna earn with it if we stake for long but the sad thing is I'm doubting to stake with bitcoins for now since I'm little bit anxious for this august thing happening and might will stick on ethereum for a while.

You are exaggerating by saying that bitcoin is overrated for investment. The thing is heavy rise on bitcoin is always thought to be lost opportunity for investing into bitcoin. But what everybody forgets is, bitcoin will keep rising forever until it reaches the vanished supply. So bitcoin is priority in my case and it doesn't matter what the price if bitcoin is in any given time.

I'm with bitcoin for long term investment as we all know it is growing and it will keep doing that until it reaches out 7-8 figures of price per BTC. This is the spark that keeps me into bitcoin a lot. If we look at ether and ltc they are best leaders in the altcoin market but with very less chances of forwarding into valuation. So for me bitcoin is first choice of investment and then ethereum. :-)

according to current scenerio the price of bitcoin is not rising much and i don't think investing in it is a good decision now but you don't mess with it when ever we think that the price of it will not rise till sometime period. the price had rised unbelievably. so, its depend on you if you have to achieve big profit you have to take risk otherwise ethereum is a safe and  good option.

When it comes to Eth vs BTC. I prefer going for both. As they are not directly competing, they can both very well also grow in parallel. In the long run investing in bitcoin provides higher reward/risk ratio and also Bitcoin is pioneer in cryptocurrencies. Ether on other hand has momentum and potential because of many use cases. Diversifying your investment is always best.

Yeah , there are many coins in the market which are more profitable that Bitcoin like more better coins .
Here other altcoins are made for trading to get speed profit because usually we see that many types of the coins jumped to high price much speedily , so here more better to put the money in those coins but problem is that how to make sure that which coin will high price . Otherwise wrong selection for the investment of the btc in any coin may be results into loss .
Here in the last year my best profit came from Pak coin , pxi , pXL , sib , waves , ETH , dash , ETC  , blry , Trump and also these coins still have the tendancy to gain the price in the market again and with fluctuations we can make better earnings .

I choose both, because I believe that ethereum was a good investment as alternative coins. However, bitcoin was better to invest due to good fluctuation of price in the market. In addition I believe that this both coins have a better future in in crytocurrencies world.

Bitcoin is pioneer in longterm investment, although ethereum nowadays can be considered longterm too. But if you base in stability bitcoin is more reliable to invest in followed by ethereum, litecoins and other high market Capitalization cryptocurrencies.

Honestly i see a lot of potential in ethereum , the devs and the users itself is so much and strong.

Bitcoin is like a gold standard to others cryptocurrency and because of this I don't think there is a coins compete with bitcoin. Bitcoin is far better to invest in compared to others cryptocurrency because is more stable than all of them and has given more return to its investors more than any other coin.

My take is that Ether will be the most used coin, look at the persistent volumes lately.
Yes, Bitcoin was first and it was a pioneer, while ETH is the next generation coin.

- Bitcoin is safe heaven for investment because price can't dump hard like other alts. For example ETH's price crashed 50% in less than a week $400 to $200.  ;D

- Only few promising coins are good for long term holding, all other are just good for short term trading for quick profit.

I still think BTC is safer and better for long tern, but from all the other alt coins I would say ether seems legit and probably a good option as well for a long term investment. Normally altcoins are good for short term trade, because they keep getting pumped and dumped, when they are popular, but some stay stable and could be good options to hold. I have some Ether. I'm said I didn't bought when they were quite low, but I already have some profit with them.

Bitcoin and ethereum have a commendable growth in price and the users or investors of these currencies are happy with the gain they have given to them. Bitcoin beside big a long term investment is also high budgeted investment whereas ethereum is a lot more low budgeted and kind of a short term investment.

My advice will be to look at your budget and the time for which you could spare your money to invest with the potential growth of the currency and then decide yourself to where to invest.

I think that bitcoin is still favorite for investment and it is not overrated in fact its price value gat disturbed with the rumors about the hard fork and the segwit stuff. Thanks God it is now recovering to its original value.

Both of it are a good coins to trade, if you have like $1000, then invest 60% on bitcoin and 40% on several altcoins but remember you should sell altcoins if it reach the highest peak, you should know when it comes.
But, you have to be patient with bitcoin as it will grows significant after August but it's okay to trade on uncertain price movements such as happened few days ago. Current price will increase a bit before it go down again, so, you may sell right now or wait to buy at the dip.

No doubt that they both are good up to their own instinct. Both the bitcoin and ethereum are going in a good way and giving profit to their investors. LTC market price is a bit slow but people have made money with it too. It seems to me like bitcoin and ETH are the two main competitor, the reason for ETH growing up also involves one of factor that nowadays most of the ICO are started with ETH which proves that people have trust in ETH.

For me i do not think eth is much better than bitcoin, we all know what bitcoin did for his 8 years of existence. You can say that ethereum blockchain is more advance because the transaction of ethereum is not congested unlike bitcoin transaction. I beleived that is has a positive result on the incoming split in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is gaining stability because of only one thing ~ High valuation for selling! What I mean by this is, bitcoin always holds big margin in its buying and selling price. Bitcoin will always go high enough from today's value to give you that perfect window to sell it.  So no we can not validate . Moreover altcoins are dependent upon the bitcoin in someway another because they fluctuate as the market of bitcoin does. Altcoin won't be traded if something is wrong with bitcoin, for example., Segwit2x Phase that we are experiencing currently. So they are no better than BTC but they are dependent on it.

Yes Bitcoin is the master for all altcoins. ETH is a fast growing coin, but it will not beat bitcoins in the race. But now investors put more confidence on ETH, and they are making that popular in the digital market. One day it will become another Bitcoin but it will take some time. Maybe in future, the litecoin will give competition to ETH.

I prefer btc its growth is more stable also eth is more like an alternative in the portfolio but without waiting beyond the hype.

Ethereum honestly its just for gambling and trading purposes unlike bitcoin that its world wide use as you can see more country locally are accepting bitcoin as payment and some country are legalized bitcoin like in japan..

Yeah ICO seems like a good foundation for Ethereum.  I'm curious to see how much people will utilize the smart contracts aspect, aside from trading or mining it.  One thing I do really like about Bitcoin is the finite supply.  I don't believe there is a max supply for Ethereum.  Anyone know how much is being created per month or year?

Bitcoin is the best one investment because as we can see almost Exchanger are using bitcoin market and not all have ethereum market and the best reason are bitcoin is our main cryptocurrency before others. Ether,  ltc are good but bitcoin are the best one.

We can only speak for the moment and inthink its also.safe that in the next couple of years, btc will dominate the crypto market. Bitcoin for long terms investissement and eth for short so , what you think about 75% bitcoin and 15% of eth , the rest for other crypto ?!  Is this safest Stratigy ?! 

It's good to split your portfolio but not on too many cryptos, the final effect could be the opposite of what you expect. So stick to Bitcoin and ETH and I think that suggested ratio is fine. But there is no absolute safety or guarantees for profit, you could still lose depending on the situation of the market.

If youre looking for a long term investment, Bitcoin would be highly recommended. As of now, and l i believe will continue to do so, BTC is leading in the crypto world and it is NOT overrated. The popularity and recognition that it receives were gained through years of credible effectiveness. It has established its name on quality and reliable service. As to altcoins, specifically ETH that comes second, it is also a good investment, but it has recently went through a hard crash last month. Bitcoin remains a top choice in trading, but lately I've started to follow some decentralized markets that use eth as a smart contract benchmark. The difference in eth volume is certainly smaller but in my opinion it has advantages for faster profits when compared to bitcoin trading conversions.

That would be a smart decision though. I have same belief regarding bitcoins. No other coin has potential enough to challenge bitcoins or take their place in the crypto kingdom. Bitcoin is the king of crypto land. Investing in bitcoin today is a guarantee of dream future. Eth is just a nymph as compared to bitcoins. Bitcoins have the ability to make you rich within short time span.

ETH also gives a very good percentage of growth. And he, too, can make rich any man who invests in him. Any crypto currency is a tool with which you can earn money. But for a long-term investment, I will also choose bitcoin

To me it is far more better to buy bitcoin than Ethereum. Ethereum has alot of issues currently especially the hackers activities on ethereum tokens. Bitcoin is more reliable and strong in both network and securities. Bitcoin is also serving currently as a gold standard to ethereum and others cryptocurrency.

I think what you may be trying to say is that it's possibly too late to get a good rate of return on Bitcoins because they are so expensive right now. I think that is very possible. But also consider that Bitcoin is the most well known cryptocurrency so it may have the best chance for overall success, so maybe it is less risky.

I'm sure that there are some inexpensive altcoins that will outperform Bitcoin by a lot in the future. The problem is picking the right one. I'm looking at Stellar/Lumens because it's so cheap but is rated highly.

No, bitcoin isn't overrated. This is the original and best crypto investment. If you are seeing the alt coin market as big, you don't have to think that altcoins are better. Look on how the massive adoption of different countries in bitcoin. There's a lot of people that keeps on buying bitcoin and within this event everyone is excited to see it pumping after August 1.

Neither. I like both of them but I feel the future crypto poster child will have a lot more improvements and will serve many more functions than these tokens currently do. They are very important, but there's still plenty more to work with

I agree to you when you say many altcoins are have potential and really good for investment but I disagree to you when you say altcoin are better than btc. There is no coin in the cryptocurrency that can surpass the bitcoin.

yes that is right that both are good and establish currency and investment in bot are good and safe. but still i think if we compare the two then i will chose bitcoin, and specially in present time when the price of bitcoin is more expected to increase more. and when all the people are trying to purchase bitcoin and hold it for the price increase and there are more expectation  about the price of bitcoin that it will hit 5000$ within few months.

You are absolutely right. Bitcoin has no comparison with any other coin especially eth. Eth is a cub and bitcoin is a lion, the king of crypto land. Bitcoins value is far more than eth. Eth still needs couple of scores to reach the status of bitcoins.

Moreover, the features that bitcoins exhibit are lacking in other coins. Security concerns also increases with other coins. In short, I believe only a moron can prefer eth over bitcoins.

yes no doubt bout that is there is no comparison of bitcoin, bitcoin is the best currency and will remain as number one for ever. i am sure that the profit that we can get from bitcoin i do not think that we can get it from anywhere else.

As of now yes, i's also choose btc over eth since btc is by far the altcoin of the moment and probably for another couple of years. Though i'm not belittling eth because it has really good features if you think about it. Perhaps etherium's time hasn't yet come full circle but i think it will.

Bitcoin and ethereum are both very good for future prospects, as both coins have a very large supportive community, I'm sure both in the next couple of years will be more expensive  :)

i think now some people are converting bitcoin into fiat currency, that are in fact worrying about the split of bitcoin but i think there is no need to worry about split because i am sure that it wil not put any worst impact on the price of bitcoin.

Both are good for longterm investment. Bitcoin price continue to increase even they have doubt in their price in august 1 it will increase again after few days or few weeks. While ethereum is one of my favorite altcoin because ethereum for sure will become 1000 dollars before end of 2017.

Eth don't have the 1/4th merchant acceptance of bitcoin. Unless you have a specific use for eth (and there is none atm) there is zero reason to hold, except for the pump&dump activities.

On the top of this, eth will go PoS soon which will drive it further away from being a deflationary currency and make it a inflationary online USD = shit.

The split of chains is just a myth right now and provably this issue is been used by those people who want to gain from this current events but look what happen for the past down price happening bitcoin bounce back and the current price is not bad as what happen way back before. And I can still provably say that those bad mouths will be shut when august 1 passes by since the one we can expect that is the high price hike.

I strongly agree to this BTC advantage on Ethereum is its finite max supply which will greatly contribute to its price. But for me in terms of future use Ethereum really do have a good stand, specially when this ICO start to fix their things and fulfill their good purposes.

Yes, Bitcoins are better than any other digital currency whether they are eths or altcoins. Bitcoins have more potential of growing than all these coins. It’s wise to choose bitcoins over eths for enjoying a real profit. Even in the future, I don’t see eth standing near bitcoins. I strongly suggest supporting bitcoins.

These two cryptocurrency are both first and second on coinmarketcap. For me I choose bitcoin but Ethereum is also a good currency to hold as it has many token under its wings which created a demand for it.Both as great potential that we even realize at present already.

For me bitcoin is still the best investment to invest in, I know that ethereum have a potential to grow but I can't imagine eth surpassing bitcoin in this industry. Bitcoin have been the best and will be the best crypto currency in this business. The value of it is way too far compared to eth, and that is a good thing to invest. There will be a very low chances to drop the value of bitcoins because there are billions of people are using it while ethereum have just a plenty holders so there is a possibility that the eth will falls in the future.

I've always stuck to Bitcoin believing in the prophecy that the first and foremost, everlasts. Although, coins like ETH have made greater breakthroughs than BTC, I still prefer holding my cash in BTC over any other altcoins because price stability matters the most to me.

ethereum and others altacoin is good for short trum invesment...bitcoin is the best for long trum..if you have mony you invest on bitcoin and confidently wait for your profite.

Bitcoin better than altcoin, trust me. We all know bitcoin is mother coin, their price action always giving impact to altcoin. Bitcoin and ethereum is both good investment and for sure if you have that two altcoins and you hold that for few years you can earn a lot of profit . Investing in bitcoin and ethereum is a good option. Dont choose only one its better to invest in this two coin . Two heads are better than one thats what other people said. But it depends to you what coin do you think gives you high profit in the future.

I agree with you . Having both is a good action, we can get security when one of the coins has decreased in price. We can also have the opportunity to benefit from bitcoin and etherum, both of which are the most popular digital currencies today.

I think both are good investments, but I think Ethereum, in the long term, is a better investment than the Bitcoin in the long term.

Currently, my cryptocurrency portfolio is ETH bigger than bitcoin. The low ETH price is now a good enough moment to buy more for me.

If you will going to chose Bitcoin in terms of trading it is a good decision because it quite a sure thing to consider on other word play safe. But if you are willing to take risk for you to earn more it is not bad to try on having both on trading where all you need to do is monitor the trend of both currency for you to earn. And of course balance your management in terms of trading so you cod earn at the same time save some of your earning for future purposes.

Why you are going after eths when bitcoins are offering grand profit after Segwit? I don’t think so it is wise decision to grab eths instead of bitcoins. Eths are not going to make its fans enjoy any extraordinary profit. These coins do not have potential that of bitcoins. I will suggest you to buy bitcoins for eths before Segwit.

Yeah, in the exchange it's no good to have only one type coins. If we only hold bitcoin, we miss the benefits of ethereum. While we hold only ethereum, we miss the good things from bitcoin. That's why we need to create a balance between different coins to have the stability for our capital.

In practice ether is really weak in terms of gaining the profitability and has got less market capitalisation as compared to bitcoin. If you would ask bitcoin will suppress the ether more in the time to come. Though ether us spiking now a days its not more than enough for ether economy. The investors and enthusiast are there but they will end up in bitcoin due to its over the head performance. I'm not against ether, no way I already mine it but with long term perspective the agenda must be discussed on bitcoin only.

Diversification is a good strategy because we don't know which coins will have the best growth from this point forward. Even if one coin has had the best track record so far, that could change in the future.

This is why I hold balances in several altcoins in addition to Bitcoin. I only hold some of the major altcoins because many of the smaller ones will not survive.
