Let's appreciate this move and I am sure this would make it easier for next generations to learn and explore this new technology. What do you think about it?

Australia is really going for it in regards to Bitcoin. lots of initiatives from many sectors--lots of bitcoin ATMs too.

I'm not sure this is something for schools to be pushing

I think it's a very good thing among schools to do knowledge about crypto, maybe things like this should be developed from now on for them, because I'm sure if they were told about Bitcoin, surely they would understand the true meaning of crypto. In the future.

       This only shows us that they are serious regarding bitcoins, and they are willing to have or share those learning at school. This is also quiet nice to hear that Australia has this kind of school, and it could also teach youngsters to learn and earn at the same time. Not only that it could also be a big help for the students to handle their financial of funds at their young age along with proper guidance from school and from their parents.

Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi! Looks like Australia is really moving ahead of the crowd in terms of Bitcoin. Even though they might not be the richest country or the most technologically advanced country, they are certainly making a run for it with Bitcoin. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bitcoin becomes mainstream in Australia with all the attention it has been getting recently.

Lets see if other countries follow suit.
 

That is quite surprising, to think that they are introducing cryptocurrencies to children. Do you think that it is appropriate for "Primary School" to tackle these matters? I guess not. Though it is a good point to teach about Bitcoin in schools. It will help the next generation for the awareness and other benefit from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Yeah, blockchain technology would solve many socioeconomic problems. Minecraft on Storj blockchain, proof-of-existence, proof-of-importance, bitcoinVR, immutable authenticated reporting, building full nodes, these primary school kids are learning some serious stuff. The school has their own cryptocurrency, Woorannacoin and four kids already want to start their ICO ;D I guess by grade 6, school on the blockchain program would make these kids blockchain specialists/developers :D

More schools should adopt this program. Blockchain technology is the future and integrating it in school curriculum somewhat prepares students to opt for blockchain related jobs in the future.

I think it is appropriate for primary schools. Even very young kids should learn the basics about Bitcoin, because it will be very useful for them in the future. The earlier the better. As well as computer science and money basics in general...

This is a welcome development by the Australian government taking bitcoin technology to the schools I am very convinced that by the time these pupils enters the university they must have been amassed with vast information and knowledge about bitcoin technology and I am very sure other countries will initiates those measures adopted by the Australian government as regards bitcoin.

That sounds great! I hope the other countries would do the same. Education is key to success and I think if we spread more information about Bitcoin, it would provide more opportunities especially to the youth. That is great. I guess it is never too young to learn about bitcoin, blockchain and crypto in general. This is a good initiative for Australian primary schools. I guess we know where our next core devs are coming from. ;) ;)

Educating people that they can have full control of their money is bad? Well bitcoin is a good concept for students to know since it exhibits a nice quality of being a currency and at the same time being an investment. Not only that, it also demonstrates that there can be some progress in economics to be made without the aid of the banks and the government.

Nice way for that school in Australia to start them out early about learning what the blockchain technology can provide them. And according to the article, the kids belong to the lower income neighborhood, so the learnings they can get from this would help them alleviate their future. Seems like they really prepared for this, complete with different modules and teaching instruments so the students can better grasp the lessons they are being taught.

This seems like a nice concept, especially the fact that they seem to engage with the students better than they are initially doing. I think one of the most important things in life is to have full financial sovereignty and be able to retain full control over your finances, unaffected by government intervention and whatnot. And currently, cryptocurrencies are the most viable(or rather, the only viable) way to achieve this end goal.

A lot of people are missing out on this revolution because they haven't been taught from an early stage. But this school is obviously quite advanced, and i support that.

However, my primary concern is actually students caring too much about money. For example in the article it says that students want to launch their own ICO or whatnot. This proves to me that they're in it for the profit, imo. If they really had a great idea and wanted to contribute then they would have released without an ICO or anything. This can become a bad habit, and is no good for neither the kids nor the crypto community.

Looks like a good move, I would approve teaching kids about Bitcoin and a new way will be beneficial since they are the next generation and we need to teach them about bitcoin if we ever want bitcoin to survive.

Seems primary is too early in my opinion. Maybe in high school economics or middle school classes.

Introducing bitcoin to the students in schools is certainly a great move and a commendable step which should be appreciated by all of us bitcoin enthusiasts. After bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrencies are taught and studied in schools and at colleges we wouldn't need to explain and convince every single individual about bitcoin. And this will greatly help in the mass adoption of bitcoin. After Japan it seems like it's going to be Australia to take the lead in recognizing the worth of this great technology called bitcoin. It's definitely a good sign for all the members of crypto community. Bitcoin and altcoins are the next generation currencies and it should be popularized as much as possible.

I dont think the bitcoin is important for the education, but i think the blockchain its a important technology to be studied in the schools.

Students should really study.on how cryptocurrencies are being produce since we are advancing in technology, i think they will not have a hard time studying blockchains since most students this day are all exposed to technological advances, they might create.a new technology for.their own generation.

I am bit surprised by this kind of news, considering I would expect Japan to introduce it in their school or China, Australia has suddenly taken a lead and they have done the perfect step. The young students are the future and if their future is educated about the coins, it's really great. I wonder will Harvard and Oxford follow suit. I am also surprised that Australia was the first one in this field. I thought Russia would be number one, because there people are already talking about cryptocurrencies on a high level. Yes, this is something to celebrate and we should also appreciate those visionary authorities who want next generation to learn about such technology. I think this is a great initiative and it will be good if other educational institutions adopt this policy and teach students worldwide about the cryptocurrency, it is definitely the new trend and  is the future of currencies around the world, the more people know about cryptocurrencies, the more the more poverty will be reduced in the world.

I think it is a great benifit to Bitcoin. We, who joined this industry did not undergo to any schooling and yet we do great for bitcoin. What more if it is studied before applying it.

that's a great news, I hope in my country people can understand how valuable it is. I am not expecting schools and colleges to accept Bitcoin as payment methods but at least they just have a basic knowledge of what is it and how it works. here no one even bothers listening to it because they literally have no idea that something named Bitcoin even exists in the world.i think if they ever heard of Bitcoin in the future then the first thing they will say is it must be a scam well I will wait for that.

The fact that in Australia in primary schools began to study the basics of cryptography and crypto currency, great news. This proves that cryptography is perceived as a science and must be taken seriously. Sometimes people do not perceive the crypto currency because they do not take it seriously at the state level. Studying crypto currency in schools will change the attitude of the population towards it.

It seems like it's basically the same idea as teaching finance to kids, but with a little tech built in there. I think it's an amazing idea, if crypto really is the future of currency they will have a leg up and a pretty decent headstart on the late adopters.

Of course students must learn bitcoin in schools. After all, this is a famous world phenomenon. But in the other hand  it is not necessary that people who know about bitcoin will use it. We need  to popularize bitcoin more. But I wish that schools all over the world have such a class.

Australia do really believe in blockchain technology and that was pretty good news that at a young age they wanna learn and explore this kind of technology this is a nice way of building young minds wiht more creative ideas that may help them in the future and realize how bitcoin technology can change their lives.

Am wondering, can you really separate Bitcoin from the blockchain technology especially when it comes to educating young ones about cryptocurrency? Not possible I must say! So then it is exciting to note that while some countries are busy looking for ways and excuses to ban Bitcoin, progressive and forward looking countries like Australia are throwing their weight behind laying solid foundation for the next generation.

It is quite insightful and a recommendable thing to do and which is exactly how and why some countries will continue to prosper and having dominance in world affairs while the retrogressive ones helplessly lament of inequality. I have a feeling other countries will be towing this line sooner than later.

Discussing about blockchain in schools while separating bitcoin from the topic totally defeats its purpose in a way that students will not fully grasp the practicality and use of it. Discussing bitcoin among schools opens new opportunities for them to learn and discover new ways and techniques to fully improve the system. With their understanding and knowledge of the blockchain, they may soon contribute into fully developing and improving bitcoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies as global medium of exchange. I really do not recommend not teaching these students about bitcoin due to its scope, explaining the value of money and other alternate ways of earning profit.

I totally agree with this. BTC is the most successful and widely accepted example of blockchain tech, teaching blockchain without going into BTC would be basically just purposely leaving out the most valuable teaching tool you have.

I realised that we are in the same situation when it comes to the crypto based financial industry. This is an early stage and everyone should learn more about it as it is something that we are going to use in our day to day life within next 10-15 years.

Learning about cryptocurrencies should become a part of every curriculum in schools as a part of financial or similar subjects. This is not future anymore, this is happening now ad young people should learn about this new world and new technologies. But the problem is that we will maybe see this only in the most developed countries, like Australia, and in poor countries where people could benefit from cryptocurrencies to help them reduce the poverty children will not learn anything.

This is a great thing to introduce, it's not just bitcoin but the technology behind bitcoin which has many different uses.

For primary students to learn Bitcoin is a great idea. Children will be exposed to the risks and gains not just in Bitcoin but also about investing and trading. Actually, according to some of my friends, their professor is sometimes talking about Bitcoin during their class that's why they asked me what is my idea about it. It is good that on their young minds, they are being aware about it.

In our country bitcoin is not yet in the schools because our country is one of the most late bloomers especially in technology and i think that it will take a few years before they recognize bitcoin to teach and let the students explore what is bitcoin. Agree with you mate! This is a good eye opener to young generations regarding his to hold and control money. This is a way they know about trading, saving and investing. For sure they will also tackle about deflation rate. In my country and when I was still studying I never encountered such thing. Yes that's right!, most of us here into bitcoin did self study or self learning, research more about in bitcoin. But this at there young of age there will be educate in this matter. When we learned it theres no need to be determined on finishing our school since we can earn more than our salary if ever. So there's no need to put it on as a subject maybe some glumpse for economic subject only. Yet it can be really helpful to those students who have problem to finance their studies.

I can't believe that a child under 10 years old is pushed to do that in an attempt to force bitcoin in people's lives, as a matter of fact they will grow up into hating it rather than exploring it's potential, if i ever had a child i wouldnt send him to that school.

I think it is not good idea that bitcoin will in teach in the students who are in the lower grade. first of all they are still young and they should appreciate first the beauty of this society than being involved in money. Because money for me is one of the reason why people become bad, they do everything so that they can get such things that they want. being in technology when you are young is not good in our health.

I don't see anywhere that the school is compulsory. Some 10 years old are able to do combinatory stuff very well, in fact some math genius did much harder things when they were child.

If the children have capacity and want to, they should have all the right to learn such advanced things.

There is no alternative to Bitcoin to take the world one step ahead. It should be mandatory to teach it to all educational institutions. The next generation should be taught about the value of Bitcoin.

This is a simple question for a grader and very straight. For their early learning i think the children should enjoy first their childhood. I think this is applicable to 11 grader up because in this level, they can explore on what they really want to focus on such a certain subject for their preparation in their future profession.  

I agree with you, they are more like teaching students about money. I think if they want to push this, they can just add this to the lessons in an Economics subject, if they have this kind of subject. But having a separate subject for this, I don't know. They really are into bitcoin.

Reading the article has even given some expository knowledge that I didn't even understand fully before and I feel its something nice to put in the mind of young ones however concerns should be about exposure to young minds which could easily be swayed by several things in the crypto space aside that all is fine.

Blockchain and cryptocurrency is something that will be hard to teach, but I think is necessary to be learned for the upcoming generation. It is continuing to expand and having it taught in schools would be a big help for students and also give them some advantage. This is something new. But is it applicable to teach to the primary students? I think, it will be much easier to teach on the secondary and tertiary to prepare them for life. yes its true, its gonna be hard to teach the kids in primary schools since they cant easily get what is the real meaning of this, aside from the kids who truly are geniuses. in tertiary students is better to teach it to them. why? because they need it, they need an extra income so it can be helpful to them.

Well, it's not only about money but this technology has a scope in most of the sectors and at introduction level, I don't think there is an issue for school students to learn and understand it. We are facing rapid changes in technology so it is a good practice to teach about it to the students in their earliest phase of life to adopt the behaviour of such changes and comply with it.

As for me, well yes it could be. Because I think that when we say bitcoin, it's not just only about earning money but this is also a technology that has a scope in most of the sectors and at introduction level. And probably students will also have the interest about bitcoin inside the school for them to explore more about it. This is a good thing, I wish I was taught on bitcoin earlier. And I also wish I know more about bitcoin now. How it works, the technology behind the blockchain, how an alt-coin is coded,  things like these. I am 49 years old and sometimes, on some aspects of my education I feel like having 60-70. I wish I've got financial education in my school years.

In the schools of my city, financial education is a big hole in teaching, and it pleases that there are countries whose education system is keeping pace with the times.

In schools, it is simply necessary to give general concepts of crypto-currencies and technology, according to which they function. This will allow to perceive the crypto currency not as fraud and pyramid, but as a branch of science and will increase people's confidence in it, which can not understand crypto currency, can not see it and touch it.

LOL. Nice to see this. It's a big move of Bitcoin. Day by day Bitcoin is become very well known all around the world. First is in primary school then will be secondary school, high school, University and college I think so :))). After that Bitcoin will be legalized and seem as a local currency of every country in the world and we can easily use it to trade, pay bill or purchase anything we need soon :D.

This is a bit too early, I feel. In schools, children should be learning the basics of maths and science. Exposing them to such technology is not necessary. Plus I doubt if they will get qualified teachers.

Oh, great! Now I'd like to leave the Philippines and migrate. You know I envy those countries that take cryptocurrency seriously and are making moves to educate people about it. It's just sad that here in our country I'm tired of seeing posts in facebook groups that I joined. I observed that btc knowledge here only spread through facebook. Then people trying to invite other and promising huge income from investments. But the sad part is that they have no idea what they are getting themselves into, such a bandwagoners. All they think about is earning easy money. I am a Filipino but I am very much disappointed how my other fellow countrymen treat btc and other cryptos. I sometimes wish that I learned about bitcoin a lot earlier. I only found out about it from my friends and my knowledge on it is only limited. Yeah! I think there are many student become involved with bitcoin because of the benefits that bitcoin can give especially to those who have not yet working. This is the best extra income to those students.

Everyone wishes to learn Bitcoin earlier and bought it when it was around a dollar but as much as we wanted to turn back time, we can't. I also think that its nice to teach those kids about Bitcoin and blockchain but more than that, it raises their knowledge with deeper understanding in technology especially programming which has a high demand in different companies.

I think this is a great idea to cultivate the spirit of developing cryptocurency and blockchain technology  and it will be also taught to elementary school students because they are faster to learn and have creativity and critical thinking. but it should also look at the response of the students because this can’t be forced on them. if there are some who aren’t interested then I think they should be given other learning materials because it will be a waste, the kids will be bored and consider learning as their enemy.

One of my friend who is from Sydney was always interested in Investing, but he left the internet world few years back. As I see how Australians and Govt offering services of investing and now in Cryptocurrency, unlike other Govt's are behind the curtains.

Well it depends on jurisdiction and  so if your government is making it difficult for you guys then its better you resort to online means to get yourself in the know because they might not allow it in schools over there yet. I think its a great idea for students to get involved with Blockchain is and what cryptocurrency sets out to achieve. It would extremely helpfull for children to asset from a young age the importance of decentralization so the next generation will allow the blockchain experiment to continue.

I'm would be really happy if that happens, as a student, I would also love to share and help my co-students to generate income on their own in the same time it could be manageable for them specially when it comes to time, they would only need a few amount of time to work here at bitcoin and at in the comfort of their home unlike having part time jobs in other business where they could get really tired and travel too much going to and coming home from work
