Whats the potential of this coin?

1) Start the wallet, go to “SwippNodes” menu item, and you will be presented with all running masternodes.
2) Click on “My SwippNodes” tab, then click on “Create” button to start creating your masternode.
3) A window will popup. Name your masternode in “Alias” field. In “Address” field type your external address:port
4) Click on button “Copy Address” and send 20000 SWP to that address. Wait 1 conformation then proceed with setup. Collateral address is your own address.
5) Go back to “SwippNodes” menu, select your Swipp masternode and click button “Get Config”.
6) You must create a file named swipp.conf. Paste the masternode config you copied before. Go to Swipp folder and place it.

Those instructions do not create a remote masternode. In those instructions, the controller and the masternode are the same wallet. I'm talking about the common setup of running the controller wallet locally and the masternode on a VPS. This way, the coins are kept in your local wallet (which you can shutdown once the masternode is set up) while the masternode which runs 24/7 does not actually have any coins in it.

Considering the total supply right now is 4.5 million and 3 million of those are premined, I'm guessing the coin author just sold you 2.5 million coins. This means you are now sitting on the majority of the supply.

Personally, I think this project has great potential and I would say you just got a lot of coins for an insanely low price (Like many other coins that debut there, it's heavily undervalued on that exchange).

2. We have a few exchanges planned. There will also be a bounty program where the community can submit and finance bounties (this can be funds for new exchanges for example). Will be better explained in the roadmap.
3. The roadmap will be posted in the ANN and on the website once we have finalized everything.
4. We are three humble software engineers. You can probably consider Twiddler as the lead developer as he spearheaded this initiative. Together, we have nearly 50 years of experience in software engineering.

With the current version, masternodes are only awarded on PoS blocks. However, the plan is to update the wallet and deamon to award masternodes on both PoS and PoW blocks. Also, we intend on increasing the collateral required to 50 000 SWIPP (from the current 20 000). This will be covered with our forthcoming announcement.

No. There's no need for a swap. We are keeping the current blockchain as-is. We are increasing the protocol version with the new wallet, so it is important that everybody update as soon as it is released (the chains will split at this point). We have also introduced a few big changes to the block rewards that will be introduced at block 90.000+ (the chain is currently at ~78.000).

Project is really interesting and such amazing idea. It seems that blockchain will be used heavily.

The SWIPP exchange platform probably never existed. We hope to add SWIPP as a base currency to an existing exchange instead. If that fails, we intend to develop something of our own (however, we would really like to avoid it).

We only control a small portion of the supply. A good thing in our eyes, as it keeps the currency open and not in the control of us.

There will be a forum on the website in the future (yet another thing to do). Some accounts on social networks will be created as well. We will stay as far away as possible from the twitter/telegram created by the original author.

We hope it will increase dramatically... Trying to foresee an exact figure is likely a senseless exercise. The price of the currency on coinsmarket has already gone from 0.1 satoshi, to 180 satoshi in a matter of days (since our first announcement).

It seems to be increasing in value on a daily basis now. Once we implement our changes and publish the website, we hope to see more positive development of the price.

We know about PhantomX. Currently, it's very similar.... But after our wallet release there will be a big difference in max supply and block rewards. PhantomX seems to be trading at a lower price and lower volume compared to SWIPP. It also has a huge premine. Nevertheless, we wish the author/authors behind it good luck.

Dunno if it might be related... But my D3's tend to hang up in intervals, so I need to restart them in order to get the hashrate back up to normal levels.  This can usually be seen as a hanged up chain in the web interface of the miner.

You need to, in the current version of SWIPP, put exactly 20.000 SWIPP in collateral for the masternode. That error means that you have put the wrong amount as collateral. If you enable coin controls in the settings of the wallet you can better see the exact amount put in each individual address of your wallet.

We are trying to make SWIPP more attractive to invest in. Raising the masternode collateral while also raising masternode returns is just one of the things we are changing.

If we look at the original paramters of SWIPP - the maximum number of masternodes equals 2500 nodes... A lower currency value (because of the bigger supply) and almost 10 times more possible masternodes would equal much lower returns. This is something we intend to do something about.

how to creat masternode on VPS?

Im really diggin' how active the dev-team is being. A large part of this is early getting things going and showing that you guys are doing stuff! Love the engagement.

If I knew how to actually compile this thing I would happily be a test bunny, sadly I have very little programming knowledge.

About master node amount, I think 50k SWIPP is a large amount and everyone will not willing to buy if the price high.

Just imagine if SWIPP price is $1/coin, everyone will be afraid to pay $50,000 for 1 MN.

So I think 20,000 SWIPP or 10,000 SWIPP/MN will better and more people will willing to buy, and then the price will up quickly.

Hello. With the max supply we are setting, it might even go higher than that eventually. As the currency evolves, they will get more expensive for sure.

If we break it down;

10.000 SWIPP collateral = 1400 nodes maximum
20.000 SWIPP collateral = 700 nodes maximum
30.000 SWIPP collateral = 466 nodes maximum
50.000 SWIPP collateral = 280 nodes maximum

We don't want too many masternodes - as it diminishes payments. Maybe we can do a compromise here and go for 30.000 in collateral. That would keep the maximum number of masternodes under 500. What does everybody think ?

Hi. It seems there is something strange with the reported hashrate on lpool. Almost all miners mine via this pool, and the reported nethash is usually much higher than the value on lpool. Trust the the hashrate reported by your miner instead of lpool. If your miner shows less than it should - contact the lpool operator. You can also try to raise the difficulty - this usually helps if the pool is saturated.

Nethash just passed 1 TH/s. However, lpool is reporting 600.4 Gh/s.

Honestly, 30k or 40k per node is acceptable in my book - I would even have been satiated with 50k but if we go much higher, its a concern like force is running into - they have a much too inflated market and the coins are worth very little despite the diffiuclty being through the roof

If you guys are having issues its because you are not using custom difficulty for the miners. Sadly Nicehash doesnt help much with this. But be sure to set your difficulty to whatever your rented rig says you should or your own rig where it performs best - it seems their stratum only really goes up to like .75 or so for difficulty - whereas some of the 100GH rigs need much more (ie 128).

Its not just point and shoot friends. If you want your hash to be credited, youll have to tinker - mining isnt easy just because you throw money at it.

As you can read earlier in this thread, the original author dumped his premine and abandoned the project, deleting his source code on GitHub - at this point we decided to take over and do something great with it.

We always build our wallets from source code, so we have a copy of it. We are forking because we decided to make some changes to the payout scheme and the max supply of the currency (see the homepage for the new specs).

We have had the idea to create a new cryptocurrency for some time. However, when this opportunity came along we decided on this takeover instead, because two of us have previously mined SWIPP since it was released. And again - we really, really love the name  ::).

Our bounty program that will be implemented later seems to be a pretty unique feature.

We do have a few other exciting ideas as well - they will be part of the roadmap if they become reality. As an example, we have an idea for a web based wallet service where you can store many different cryptocurrencies (200+) and pay a monthly subscription using SWIPP. We have yet to decide if we will actually do this.

Apart from that, it's also about doing a good cryptocurrency with an open community and good dialogue between everybody.

I think we need to set the masternode with only 20,000SWP. The same volume of present is.
So why?
1. The last price of SWP is equivalent 300satoshi. If 20,000SWP = 1MN, 1MN = 0.06BTC (good price with to create a decentralized and the more number of people turn on masternode is, the more stable SWP is).
2. Everypeople can see the diff ~ 50k. If you own a D3 ant machine, you only get 500-700SWP/day. And 30,000SWP a MN, who want to make MN or they only want to sell.

Finally, I want your team (SWIPP team) consider my thought.
Every idea will help our coin better. The win - win is my strategy.

I dont know what exchange yall are talking about but this looks to me more like its trading at 2881 sats already - They made the changes from 20 to 30 k for a MN because they didnt want the market to get oversaturated with Masternodes. The rewards will still be reasonable when/if all the tokens are locked up in them.

I'm mining there with 80GH/s today but pool showing just 3.6 GH/s. I mined there 3 days ago and there was same problem but pool showed much more (aprox 28 GH/s). I don't know most probabelly it's ok...

Now I am running 3 master nodes at 20.000 x 3.
My personal master node decreases by one, but it can be expected to raise the price by promoting purchase there.

At this point, we do not want too many masternodes to saturate the network. There are enough cryptocurrencies available with thousands / hundreds of masternodes. It saturates the network, destroying returns and frankly also the appeal of the currency.

A majority of the community seems to agree that 30.000 is a good target. In the end, we decide this together, with a healthy discussion of pro's and con's. At some point I am pretty sure that we will have to lower the collateral - we will just have to see how SWIPP and the community develops. If the currency goes up a lot in value, it's pretty obvious that 30.000 won't work any more. This will take time though.

I got 'socket recv error 10054' from debug window.

That error means "Connection reset by peer" - simply meaning the remote end force closed the connection.

Try adding some/all of the nodes in this list to you swipp.conf file - it should resolve the problem;

I had a SWIPP MN running for a few days.

The transaction hash is this: 08eb2bdb58451cf55c87a3d650ef5f8eb79bc30bfce660c8197d0588b779f733-000

Went to my MN and a few hours ago it stopped running.

Go to the block chain explorer (https://lpool.name/explorer/SWP?txid=08eb2bdb58451cf55c87a3d650ef5f8eb79bc30bfce660c8197d0588b779f733)

and it shows the transaction, no problem.

Go to my wallet, and it says "no masternode outputs"

Check the transaction, it shows "conflicted" in my wallet.

How could this happen hundreds of confirmations AFTER settings up a working MN... and how to resolve?

Since SWIPP has the unique masternode-height thing... simply recreating my MN with a new transaction will actually cost me more collateral AND reduce my returns.

Someone suggested this could be because of staking. I've turned off staking in my conf file and restarted the wallet, and it still says staking.
