So today I purchased web hosting from Namecheap using Bitcoin and it was incredibly cheap, simple and best of all, anonymous. When it comes to website ownership, depending on the kinds of sites you are building, this can be an important thing.

One of the reasons why Bitcoin took off initially was because of its privacy and anonymity benefits. Back then there were so few places where you could actually spend Bitcoin, so people ended up purchasing illegal things to test out the platform.

Now, we can see and trust definite advantages that Bitcoin as a technology brings - secure store of value, anonymity, global/universal currency, transparency (blockchain), software apps can be built on top, etc

but I really just wanted to get your opinion...

What are some advantages of paying with Bitcoin?

Currently, I feel Bitcoins are good for investments and never used it buy any illegal things online.

Because of slow transactions if a site wants at least one confirmation to confirm your order then you may need to wait for few hours after payment. That is a bad thing about Bitcoin transactions. I'm into Bitcoins only for the investment purpose as of now. If you want to hide your identity then Bitcoins are the best option for payment.

Well before the main advantage of bitcoin was its lesser fees than credit card or paypal. However we could not use that one anymore right now because of the ridiculous  fees. On the other hand its anonymous  feature is still really good for not so legal transactions

For me or is just easier. I like not having to go through a long process with my credit card and bank and I don't like PayPal. So Bitcoin is perfect for me. Also it's the latest technology and it's totally cool and I don't want to be left behind.

Privacy, fast payments, and no refunds (like Paypal). Love paying with bitcoin, just can't wait until it gets easier and more universal.

I think that the only advantage of paying with bitcoin is just, it is easy to use and pay the things that we buy using bitcoin but overall, it is not a good idea and a wise choice because if you will usey our bitcoin to pay things then you are removing the chance to earn more money by holding that bitcoin.

To me the greatest advantage is that it is anonymous and can work across the world. Anonymity is not necessarily for illegal activity, it also helps with privacy concerns. Why should we be giving out our personal particulars to every single web merchant online? It is dangerous, data can be hacked and we do not know what our personal data will be used for.

Secondly, credit cards may not work across all online merchant, and some do not have payment facilities. This is where bitcoin is useful again, as there is little infrastructure setup cost to pay through bitcoin.

So there's certainly a utility for bitcoin in online payments.

if I think the advantage of paying with bitcoin is when buying the desired item to buy it when bitcoin the price is down,
of course it will benefit the buyer but I like that way because it can save expenses

Advantages of paying with bitcoin are, we can pay on our house without going outside our house. It also has a record with our email and we can see if its confirm or not, we can keep it as our official transaction and receipt. And I guess it is safe because we don't have to go outside and then we don't need to hold cash because we can do transaction online.

I think a lot of money to pay using bitcoin, paying with bitcoin is very practical, we just use a computer with internet network, and we can already transactions around the world, unlike a complicated central bank, that's one advantage to pay with bitcoin.

You listed most of them already to be honest, anonymity and speed, along with low fees, are a lot of the primary functions that Bitcoin brings to the table in a respectable manner. Compared to a lot of the other payment systems, such as Paypal and the like, it's a lot harder to have any sort of ability to make sure that the money you earn through such a system, especially on some websites such as eBay or PayPal, will actually be in your possession for a few weeks time, even if you have supplied a good or service.

One that you didn't mention, though, was how Bitcoin allows for anyone of any age to be active in the economy. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is up to the viewer.

exactly. people always are confused about this "anonymity" but it is there. bitcoin is not anonymous but it can be and the privacy that comes with it is very useful. you don't need to sign up, verify, give your identifications, ... you just make the payment.
and it is global. you no longer have the issue of wondering if you can use your credit card in some place or the other and you will never have the security issues coming with usage of a credit card.

before i was using bitcoin to buy stuff only and purchase some games but right now as the fees are getting higher i just maintain it as an investment. Before bitcoin was use to purchase illegal stuff and it became their mode of payment as it have anonymity not because they want to try out the platform but they take the advantage of not getting caught by the government law enforcers.

The advantage of bitcoin is the fast transaction with anonymity which is it one of it functions. I am hoping that by the end of this Year there are many Physical store accepting bitcoin as the mode of payment, also some restaurant. I don't see that there are any advantages except for the illusion of anonymity, if
that's your thing. There's the miner's fee, long confirmation times, zero buyer
protection, and the chance that bitcoin could shoot to the moon right after you
spend it.  Fiat is a much better option for buying things in my opinion.

in order to buy a cup of coffee, he'd say "Why?".  And I don't think anyone could
give him a good answer.  Owning it, yes.  Buying items with it, no.

For me the advantage of bitcoin is that it is anonymous and when I have to pay my bills, I really don't have to go outside to pay those bills; as long as there is the internet then I'm not behind every paying bill I need to do every month, and its fast and easy too. It is very convenient and it saves me a lot of time.

For me the advantage of Bitcoin is for investment purposes because nowadays if we want a faster transaction we also pay the highest fee which is quite downside for buying goods online. Anonymity, transparency and privacy are the most advantages only seen in cryptocurrency most especially Bitcoin that which most people want in every transaction. I wouldn't really call bitcoin transaction fees cheap right now, but they are still a lot cheaper if you are paying globally compared to bank transfers which can involved tens of dollars in fees as well as conversion spreads and fees.

But yeah, you are dead right. Bitcoin is a store of value, and it's global. That's the two attributes that makes bitcoin so popular in my opinion. It is decentralized as well, which means that no central bank is able to screw it up.

Biggest advantage imo is that you can pay to whoever without knowing them at all, even if they are in a different country the fees are the same.

I think it depends there are ups and downs in crypto currency,
For example you are going to pay for your bill and they really need it at the moment the bitcoin transaction is really not a good way to pay,
But if you are going to send some money somewhere far from you and it would take a couple of days for them to recieve I think it is best to use bitcoin.

Certain advantages that I can think of are. Firstly you get some anonymity, yes it's not complete untraceable but atleast you don't need to provide your name and address. Also most of times when buying with btc you get some discount, that's because the merchant doesn't need to pay taxes for btc so to encourage people to pay with bitcoin they give discount on btc payments. But along with these advantages there are obviously some disadvantages that you know of like the wait time for tx to get confirm.

For me in my part I guess the anonymity in buying and in paying is the big advantage in bitcoin.
It is also easy to use and in my country buying btc is not that difficult and the exchange rate is not that high so I love btc the way it is.

Bitcoin has always been good currency and the new opportunities are always finding its way around. It's not just about bitcoin but many ether based smart contracts are forming technology which can provide us online payment gateway. I would love to use bitcoin as payment processor because it is very much instant and I would not wait fir confirmation of payment because once I see incoming pending payment then I'm sure it's gonna be there in my account. Once people start believing in that block chain process they will be more into using it as payment mode. Just with one click accounts are credited. Just love it.

besides that bitcoin is not subject to income and wealth taxes, free transactions without limitation limit, can be used anywhere with the same exchange rate in all countries in the world

it is convenient to use,anytime anywhere as long as have connection and can be good for savings. As it's volatility increases it offers more opportunities when we got the opportunity to have a btc noe and earn big in future.

I will say that it will be one of the terrible mistake that you will commit the moment you pay for something using bitcoin, like we all know bitcoin is going to be highly successful in future ,so the price will also increase and then you will get a big profit. I use bitcoin for buying mobile loads and paying bills thru our mobile wallet. It's much convinient and easy to use specially if I dont have cash on hand and my bills are almost due. I also get a reward if I pay using my bitcoin and use the app. This is much better rather than going to the shop and pay personally

Advantage of paying with bitcoin is that you'll keep your credentials private. I think you cant be trace with blockchain. This good when you purchase illegal account in some site. I try it my self because as a student i need many sites with alot of studies like Chegg.com so i search if  somebody sells an account for it. Yes, paying for the goods and services whether online or offline has a benefit of maintaining anonymity during the transaction. However, the biggest advantage I see is the lowest fee for the international customers. My bank puts 3 different charges and fees to pay my funds on an international level so it increases the cost of that product and service irrespective of any price hike from the service provider. Bitcoin transaction takes place almost instantly and the fees are lower as compared to that of regular fiat transactions so it really helps.

Yes for online payments you can say Bitcoin is a good way to pay, but for your example which you bought a hosting service to host your site, it does not take for long for you to be an anonymouse user because having a site needs you to give information if you want to monetized it or even just become an author for writing blogs in your site. Other than that I don't see any advantage of it. If you will count maybe on an actual scenario where I will pay Bitcoin on a store the advantage might be not bring any wallet or cards for payment.

Using bitcoin for payment is not time consuming. It's easy to access and operate and much convenient.

beside its easy to use, if we are buying product on online, we don't have to go to ATM machine to transfer our transaction and we can do by scan the barcode or filled the wallet address. and if in out there any local store accepting bitcoin then we only need to carrying our android phone with bitcoin balance inside that phone and when we want to make payment, we only need to scan the barcode, filled the amount and send and then our transaction is finish.

If the transaction fee is improved or returned as before, I bet that bitcoin will be preferred over any other currency. It even passed paypal recently. However, it is clear that the fee is too high, which makes many people hesitant when deciding to use bitcoin.

Unfortunately my government still not legalized bitcoin yet for security reason but IMO bitcoin really helpful for do major transaction

Here it's illegal too. They try to tax people who use bitcoin as a payment method because they can't get the tax from the merchants who are using bitcoin in payments.

Taxes are pretty sure important for the government it is a way of generating revenue so that it can pay the officials/personnel and fund the projects and operations so if there are no taxes there will be no one that may work in the government office, well it is very critical for the country because it will ensure the expand of a country, and it is a good thing if we want the government to accept bitcoin.

Poor for you guys. In my country Bitcoin is legal and the government even build some "ATM Bitcoin" in the central of city for someone need to convert Bitcoin into conventional money. I don't really sure that Is Bitcoin legal in my country ;D However, a lot of people in my country use Bitcoin.

Well, using bitcoin in paying in some stuff is a great idea because you can pay it easily and instantly. In addition to that, some commercial establishment start to accept bitcoin and using bitcoin in payment is a quite convinient because you can pay all your bills in easy way.

Good thing you have used it for something while some of us still cannot use it. You have seen one of its advantages while for me I just use it for buying altcoins and just transferring money. Nothing in buying something. Other transactions are just for payment of my loan and prepaid services.

This is true,i do like to use bitcoin back in the past when the fee isnt still high compared as of now on which i do actively when i do purchase steam wallet codes which is really a good thing and hassle free compared on buying it on traditional stores but now the thing that do hesitates me already is the fees on which it is more than on the amount that i do usually purchase those goods.

Here today luckily i read a story which is real , a person in UAE was missed but he knows about the bitcoin and only contact in his own country , so he completed his need of money by using bitcoin easily by his family , so we can understand how the bitcoin is connecting the people of the world from one part to another part .
And i think the actual advantage of the bitcoin is due to the fluctuations in the price and that directly giving us the opportunity to make earnings .

well, i do not think that paying using bitcoin is an advantage. but many people think it would be profitable. Probably, the advantage is that, the transaction becomes faster, with a small fee fee. but, for now, I do not think the profits work. It is true that paying in bitcoin is convenient but i am not sure about faster transactions being done in the past few weeks,bitcoin is without a doubt the best form of transaction when you compare traditional banks and other third person services because with bitcoin you only need the receiver and a smart gadget and a internet connection to send out the coins.

There is a lot of advantage to be paid using bitcoin, The better one for me is bitcoin volatility, I don't fear when bitcoin price will fall, I just know it will be increase again in few weeks after, I believe too much in this currency, Also i like to be anonyme and no one will control me when i send or i recieve bitcoin from others. The only problem i think is on fees, I hope it will be fixed soon after a good update in blockchain technologie.

If we could notice and experience bitcoin main advantage in transaction is the point that it does not have fees and if it have it could be a portion of just part of fees. But the main advantage if bitcoin in reality is its fast and reliable transaction that could serve as a good thing in the future.

I think it would be an advantage to have a bitcoin for investment purposes here online. Since I don't have a bank account, having bitcoin is such a necessary for me to pay or have transactions here online.

I also see bitcoin as an investment and not a way to pay things bought online. It is convenient but I will let my credit card handle all the payments as I can see it is more documented. Also, for me it is only good to use Bitcoin as payment if the market is green. You might end up spending all your bitcoins if the market is red since the amount of bitcoin is also low.

bitcoin transaction fees and transaction confirmations is expensive and long so to use bitcoin as a continuous payment I think is a bit detrimental. the advantages of paying using bitcoin may be anonymous and looks easy but now I see bitcoin as an expensive currency and a good investment.

Thats true, once the transaction is being processed you can check it at the plockchan. I think it is a good feature since you can check that transaction is on going and live. Also, its convenient paying it using your mobile or pc. I think we have to encouraged more biller to accept bitcoin so that more people will be using.

I do love using bitcoin to pay all my bills, because in our online local wallet has a great services and there is a rebates in every bill you pay using their services that is why i can also used bitcoin as remittance center in my area and get additional income from it.

There's a lot of advantages but the most inportant in my opinion is the easy and fast transaction.

I like bitcoin because I don't have a problem when paying someone unlike banks that I need to go through the process of enrolling the account so that I can transfer instantly to that certain account. So true and I'm sure everyone had and experiencing this. Before I need to go to banks just to deposit and trasfer funds but when bitcoin came to my life, all these became convenient to me, like I didnt have to pay taxes even I sent money internationally and the best thing I can buy some load using my bitcoin. nowadays, i think that bitcoin has more disadvantages than advantages because of transaction fees althoufh it is the same value in terms of bitcoins but it is high in terms of fiat so, in effect, the confirmation time is slow but i have no problems with it than waiting in line in bank just to deposit

i agree with you but if the amount that we want to send is bigger, for example more than 0.01 btc and the fee for example 0.0006 btc - 0.001 btc, its not a problem for us because the amount is still bigger than the fee. i think if the fee is like what i said, then i think we can do it as donation for other people so what we send can faster arrived into our wallet.

In my own viewpoint bitcoin has a lot of advantage than the regular way of paying and transferring funds simply because it is much easier, much faster, and one will question you about it. Bitcoin is much easier because the only requirements is to have a wallet which is super easy to create, the next advantage is faster because in bitcoin you can transfer money by just one click.

Well I don't think there is any advantage regarding paying with bitcoins , I would prefer paying through normal currency because the rate of bitcoins keeps on fluctuating thus something that I paid 100 dollars for could be sold at 10 dollars thus I would be at a loss if the price keeps on falling and going up.
Thus its disadvantageous for the society, because if the price is not fixed it will affect the seller and the buyer ..we can't decide which party suffers a loss or gains a profit.
Yes its trendy but its more beneficial if we pay through local currencies as it will reduce the chances of unprofitable exchange

i think there is no need to pay big amount if we are using bitcoin as payment because i have experience before. i need to pay something and if i use money then i should spend $10 and if i only use bitcoin, the amount is equal 0.002 btc because bitcoin price is in high position so i don't have to spend big amount. the other advantages is maybe we don't have to filled the form and write down our name and address and then we pay the amount and with btc we only send the amount.

Even if it is acceptable in online business but not at all fit for offline business due to the high confirmation time. Imagine waiting for 30 minutes before you can get your hands on a cup of coffee. People with insane patience would be able to handle that but not everyone.

Instead I see bitcoin as a great investment asset which can very well change the course of your future life. With Bitcoin, no tax and then anonymous and then one time transaction. 

Correct me if i'm wrong but i know that when you are about to buy a goods or items in the market then the products already have tax involved because it is automatic for the sellers or items so they can just automatically computer and add all the things up and don't compute for the tax anymore.

Advantages are very limited as of now, rather their are quite a few disadvantages, atleast I feel so while using it.
Advantages are like its really helpful for cross border or international transaction, the fees or charges are relatively lower, anonymous transaction also is a good advantage. And ofcourse you can use it anytime without without delay except the confirmation time, which is gradually improving.
And also if we consider it as an asset or investment, it provided a huge profit and potentially it has more to give.
