I just wonder, where bitcoin depends its value/price.

Don't we have the power to make its value higher?

If we have, what can we do to make bitcoin's price become higher?

most probably nothing you can do as an individual would make that big a difference whether to increase or decrease the price of bitcoin.
it is the demand that will help raise the price higher.

if you can do anything to help the adoption then that is a different story but most people won't be able to do more than simply "spread the word". which is good but it is not enough for what you have in mind.

We can make a difference in a little value. Support bitcoin buy buying more. Spread the word of Bitcoin to your friends. Social Media is a good avenue for it. Share some good insights and potentials about Cryptocurrency so they can take the boat with us. Probably, let them join also the bitcointalk forum for them to be knowledgeable about bitcoins.

Individual whale or corporate kings can change the bitcoin price to next peak value or even more. What we can do to help bitcoin price moving up is just writing positive information about bitcoin and spread it in social network sites like Whatsapp, telegram or facebook.

The only way to increase the bitcoin's value is to maximize its' usage if any government won't allow to use it on the state level.

The best way to get the price higher is to buy more Bitcoin and hold them, do not sell any of them.
One single person may not have any influence on the price by doing this, but together we do have some sort of impact.

first we as a buyer, marketers and investors have a power to increase and decrease the price of bitcoin but we dont control it.

The price of the bitcoin is depend to the supply and the demand. When the price is going up for sure that the demand of the people increasing and the supply of the bitcoin is decreasing.

It is not as much about government to let Bitcoin be used to pay taxes with it. We need more general adoption of big business.

Bitcoin's price is mainly driven by the community support.Its price increases or decreases with variation in demand.Higher the demand,higher the price since supply is only limited to 21 million coins and it remains unchanged.Mass adoption of bitcoin all over the world could increase the demand for bitcoins and hence its price.We could try to spread the knowledge about bitcoin to our friends and all over the world by using social medias as there is no central board for bitcoin to advertise since its a decentralized currency.By this way,more companies would come forward to accept bitcoin as payment which would increase the credibility of bitcoin more.

as an individual you cant do anything just relax and wait.. but if we compare bitcoin to stocks more demands then the price is high.. less demand then the price is low... bitcoin is unpredictable in terms of price and demand..

Value of Bitcoin will go higher as the volume increase's and will stay stable. Currently, Bitcoin is just 1% in volume when compared with the stock market and price of Bitcoin is higher already and also had potential to grow large.

Yes of course you can contribute to make it higher by using it on a daily basis or when buying goods online that is payable of bitcoin because with that you are helping the economic growth of bitcoin even with a tiny bit of transaction.

Before we all are going to get hyped up about the price, let's concider first wheter or not we would want to have a higher price.

A higher price simply means that the transaction fees are going to be higher, and that it becomes progressively harder for newbies to join in.

I think that it is desirable that the bitcoins price is stable. If the price is stable, bitcoin becomes more attractive for new persons to join in, and the transaction fees don't become so extremely high.

yes I agree with you that the more buy and hold the coin in a certain period of time will make the price movement is increasing, in addition there is a limitation of bitcoin suply that I know only 21 million, as well as the market economy if the supply of coins is getting limited while the coin enthusiasts the more you want to have of course the price will increase.  :)

If we look in Bitcoin price - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/, then we can see that Bitcoin price go up only this year. Before that, from 2013 and up, Bitcoin price was stable. So this mean that demand was so high, that Bitcoin price go up. It is possible that users start to buy Bitcoins, because Bitcoin max supply is only 21 000 000, currently in use we have 16 560 562 Bitcoins.

One more note: to increase btc price you need to increase demand constantly. Thet means that if you bought bitcoin then you  should use it (trade it, buy smth using this bitcoin etc.). If everyone will just buy bitcoin and hold it then you will just make a bubble that will "explode" pretty soon at the first correction.

I believe, the value of BTC depends on its usability in the real-life world and the adoption-rate of it by the people around the globe. Its price will increase dramatically if more people are going to buy/use it and integrate it in their daily lives. One thing that we can do as an individual is to spread word about it and help increase the awareness of our local community regarding BTC. It may take awhile but we'll gonna get there.  ;D

We all need to keep in mind that there can only ever be 21 Million coins and we are already over 16.5 Million coins.

On top of that we also have satoshi's  1.1 Million coins some say are "Dead coins" never to be seen on the network again and we also have a "Unknown" amount of dead coins that are lost forever.

As time goes on the price will come and go but we should all be holding as many coins as possible and not be drawn into this panic selling that is rife on the internet.

Making bitcoin price higher while its technology is still weak is not a good idea. Since the transaction speed is still limited, it can not maintain the huge number of people. And as you know, the higher the price of bitcoin is, the more people will use bitcoin. Therefore, make bitcoin stronger first, then we will make the price increase

The Bitcoin community isn't the whole you seeing on this forum. This forum is just a stratified sample of big Bitcoin user base all of the world.
You can't simply tell people here to buy Bitcoin for higher and raise prices! It is already multi-billion industry in its own.
I feel atleast Bitcoin can never be a prey to the pumping groups like small coins do. It grows or fall only on solid reasons and when majority of the users either start dumping or buying.

Bitcoin can be said to be a commodity and just like any other commodity its prices is decided by the mix of demand and supply. The reason its price is surging is due to its limited supply and infinite demand. Just you or a handful of people can never increase its value that much. If it was this easy to manipulate bitcoin we might never have used it as a uniform system of trading

hmm i think we cant "play" bitcoin price, i think we need big big big money to pump or dump bitcoin price, its like in cryptocurrencies, some trader do pump and dump to "play" cryptocurrency price, but they must have big money to do it, if cryptocurrency need big bitcoin, i think pump or dump bitcoin need more than big money

It is the oppostie lf that thing because as a people who contribute to used Bitcoin as a source of investments or a mode of transaction , it could be a vital part for Bitcoin to experience development and growth to its price. So the thing on us making Bitcoin price is is actually true to the point that we usually used Bitcoin and support its system in terms of transaction and investments.

To raise the price we would need a lot more users of Bitcoin and a lot more people buying in. I'm not 100% sure if we can get that many people just as forum members here.

I think BTC will stabilize soon but if people sell when BTC hits 4000 again, it'll drop depending on how many people sell. If people hold, we can maybe expect more growth.

The basic rules of thumb are:

#1 When there are more buyers than sellers, the price will increase.

#2 When there are more sellers than buyers, the price will decrease.

#3 If the number of buyers and sellers are near to equal, the price will remain stable.

These are basics investors and traders use to predict which direction a price will move.

To make expensive bitcoin prices, of course we must continue to buy and never sell. now the price has dropped below $ 4000 and this is the best opportunity for us to get profit if we immediately buy.

I don't think that will ever happen. You cant define a price for bitcoin, it depends on it's marketcap, and since the coins are limited it's price will continue to rise if people continue to buy. Bitcoin is attractive as a product and as a concept and we want people to realize that, and we want that everyone  continues to buy them. The price will be stable once all coins are distributed and people starts using bitcoin as a way to trade goods and not as a way to trade fiat.

Price of bitcoin wont really be ever stable even it is being distributed completely on its entire supply it doesnt mean that it would fix its value.No it really wont and thinking off that the last bitcoin would be mined would happen on 2100+ year which means we are all dead on those years for sure.If all coins been mined but the demand is still high then price will really be valuable even more even owning some small satoshis would be already have a good cost.

Well it will be depending on the supply and demand of the current coin, If you want to make it higher then probably just buy all the coins and hold it for a very long time till the supply will decrease then the cost of the coin will increase. Just work on campaigns if you want to earn more bitcoins.

China is causing the price drop and we have already seen large amounts of coins being dumped on the market which is causing this price reversal.

I would not be surprised if china banned bitcoin and only bitcoin cash was legal there.

I believe a collective effort can make Bitcoin price higher if this effort meet certain requirements to make Bitcoin price to increase.  It is either the money to use in coordinated bitcoin buying and gives demand more than the supply.  Other stuff would be advertisement and spreading hype around the market and people believe in it.  And being able to nullify FUD that will attempt to lower down the price of Bitcoin.  If we cannot do this then we will fail to make Bitcoin price higher.

This is timely now as the price is dropping and nobody really knows when and where it'll stop.
The supply and demand also impacted the price also and it's the same as the what mentioned above.
Price increases when there's a high demand and there's only limited in supply so if we want to increase the bitcoin price we should hold it. Actually, this is what china doing now, they made btc dump so they can buy at low and hold it and will make them it to hype. More than hoarding than holding.

I don't think that we should do something to artificially boost the price of the Bitcoin. Let it happen naturally and mass awareness is the only option to keep the price level stable. We can practically pour money in Bitcoin to boost the price but again that would lead to another correction and price will fall to its natural level thus it is highly recommended to keep it as natural as possible. However, we can take efforts to stop further fall by improving awareness among the Bitcoin holders.

There should be maintaining a proper balance in buying and selling of bitcoins. Only this way market can stay stable. If people will keep holding bitcoins for long time and there will is no trading observed in the crypto market with bitcoins that may lead to the destruction of bitcoins.

One way to get bitcoin higher is just tell everyone you know about it to invest....someone will and that will bump its price. Maybe stay away from family members and close friends haha

I think the reason for its high price is the demand from the public. As many people buy bitcoin, its price will automatically rise. But I think the very high price is also not good; because of the many people do not have enough money in their hands to buy bitcoin on a very high price.

I agree that our effort could change things in the direction we wanted but the area where that won't matter is the volume we all own while a lot could be own by members of the forum, a lot more is owned by non-members of the forum or inactive members of the forum which might eventually rendered the effort useless.

Little investors don't influence the price very much. Sometimes a big investor causes the same impact that 1000 little ones. I believe we have a false impression that we are responsible for Bitcoin's price as we don't know what happen behind the curtains. Theoretically we could make Bitcoin's price higher by investing high and making more people adopt it on their lifes, but it's not an easy task for many people to bring others and it's not easy to invest high as many people here don't have enough money. We can make bitcoin price high by transfer all our fiat into bitcoin. The price will be increasing  when the demand is high and the demands will be high if many of us are buying it daily. Another way we can make the price high is through creating awareness about bitcoin in other to  stimulate new investors.

I think there is not much to do about making the price of bitcoin rise . One thing we can do which could have some effect on the price but not a lot is that more and more people could invest in the bitcoin , it may help to some extent. The number of investors and users must increase to increase the price.

We can make bitcoin price higher by sharing our knowledge about bitcoin. Once bitcoin increase it's demand the price higher. You have a point there by sharing our learnings we adopts new users into bitcoin, in this way it will increase the number of bitcoin so definitely price would be higher.

"Yes, let's just wait for demand to increase" and "segwit is still around the corner". "Bitcoin price will increase no more explanation... the volume of coins will be up and the because too".

This isn't even about language anymore, I'm now more and more convinced that people actually believe half the things they read, and understand even less. I'm beginning to think the completely misinformed speculators are far more powerful a force than I'd estimated.

Bitcoins price will get higher through its demand,we can achieve high price if we all unite together,we can achieve it by making bitcoin famous of all countries i think thats a very big impact to its prices.If all of us will adapt bitcoins existence bitcoins price will not just reach to $8000 by this year or the following year but possible it will double.The higher the demand the lesser the supply,so lets attract more investors.

Hmmm…. What do you mean by Bitcoin will rise in value even if we all don’t do anything? Bitcoin’s price rate/value depends on how much that’s been invested on it daily. The more we invest, the more the price will continue to rise. Assuming we all stops investing and starts withdrawing, and price still continues to rise up, then it’s no more on the real value, because that will be based on speculation.

But there are also speculations on price decrease right after upcoming fork, be prepare to take out profits as soon as fork finishes

You are absolutely right that every business need a good investor because they get risk in investment and that’s why they give importance to their business and after that success come to investor feet just like that people take risk in investment in bitcoin and this is the reason bitcoin price and importance increases.

It's just textbook supply and demand; buying bitcoin makes the supply less so the price goes up. We can help its price increase by advertising it on businesses, websites and other social media platforms. So basically, the more people knowing bitcoin, the more it appreciates.

it wont make sense if you help out advertise bitcoin on some websites and social medias because majority of  people  are simply not interested on bitcoin and there were some people that sees and recognize bitcoin as a big scam or pyramid scheme. but it still up to you if your going to insists and spread the word bitcoin to the people around you.

We can make it if we will promote the bitcoin into different social media sites because that is the fastest way that i know to promote bitcoin and to get a lot of people's attention and if the people understand what we are trying to promote then it will result for having a huge growth in the demand that will become the key for the price of bitcoin to become higher.

Well if you have a huge amount to invest in btc, you can make the price rise for a short therm, if the others won't sell. Ifyou don.t try making btc some piblicity and make others buy some btc. That way the demand will be highter and the price should go up
