What is a good amount of Bitcoin to buy for first time buyers new to the crypto market? What kind of return can you expect to see within a week?

Any amount that you can afford to lose and is willing to invest. There is really no minimum.

You can't really predict this kind of returns. You can easily lose a lot of money if you are not patient and don't have the nerves to watch your money getting burned.

If you had bought 1 Bitcoin last week (~$4600), you would have lost ~$1220 by now - yes, ~26% in one week. The same way that if you had done the same buy two months ago, you would have profited $1500 or $2800 if you have sold at the top. Bitcoin is very volatile and if you don't know what you are doing, you will end up regretting.

I agree bitcoin is totally decreasing so iits your desisyon if you buy bitcoin now or hold it becuase for me bitcoin si volatile so i know that the decreasing of value is natural so i believe that bitcoin will going increase again. :)

just wait till it drops more and once you found out that bitcoin is going bubble again you can invest early ASAP and then buy bitcoin as much as you can in that case you can make a good profit on it. trading works that way so definitely all traders starting to gather and planning when to buy bitcoin and that demand will gonna cause bitcoin price to rise again.

Depending on how much you can avail without any thoughts of feeling regret. Price of bitcoin at $3,300 is good of buying now if you are expecting something in return for this week then better to think again. Bitcoin isn't just a type of short term investment better goal for yourself for long term ones because bitcoin, the longer - the better.

its hard to make an entry right now its seems that it can go down much more and this issue with china still circulating all around the crypto

Bitcoin is going down this days and time for buying is great. The best moment for buying is when bitcoin touch lowest price, I seen some twitts about bottom line and its around 2.500$. Bottom can be lower or higher its up to you when exactly will you buy, choose good and you will make good profit, in all other ways you will make less profit.
Within a week is hard to say, September is worst month this year and if you plan to make profit in a week then wait with buying, price will go down a bit more, bad news are coming from many side. Maybe waiting September to pass is a good thing to do, or to buy if situation settle before end of this month.

If you have not made any purchase yet of bitcoin, I would suggest to hold on considering the market is really very choppy at the moment. Its  a free fall for now due to huge impact of China's ban on exchanges. This would be further bleed the market and may even fall to 2500$ in coming time. So wait till that time.

It totally depends on your investment capacity and your risk profile. Since the crypto market is known for its wild behaviour, one should invest considering all the possibilities.

Now, coming back to the current scenario, I am not expecting any growth within a week because we are in a correction phase and when the price increased by more than 150%, there is not a big deal if it falls by 50% and we are at -30% stage from $5,000 price level so I am not much confident about investment at this stage considering returns in one week but yes, one can start accumulating Bitcoins in smaller quantity for mid or long term. Please do your own research before taking any investment decision.

- Gambling: if this is the reason you buy bitcoin, i offer you for 0,03btc is the best , cause that's not much if you lose. Gambling is risk remember that.
- Investing: the amount will be normal around 0,1-0.2 , this is a good amount to investing to some website.
- Trading or Holding: i offer you about 0.5-1 cause this is the right time to buy BTC. Price is very low at bottom so ir you buy now , you gonna earn a good profit when the price is back.

If you are buying it for the first time,then i think 0.1btc would be the best choise...it will neither be too expensive and also a decent amount..i wont recommend lower than that as nothing much can be done with that...

For me it will be in the range from 3k to 3.2k. Because eventually, bitcoin will going to the moon again. Lets take at a possitive look for this dump. More and more country are investing in cryptocurrency thats why I think it will increase again

i think its depend how much amount you have because there is no minimal amount of bitcoin to buy for first time. but i suggest that you must use free money that you don't use for your daily needs because it will risk your daily life. we can not expecting to get much of bitcoin for a week but its possible if there is any coins that suddenly jump in the price so we can make much of bitcoin.

I think if you have a lot of money to buy some bitcoin then even just a 1 - 10 worth is enough to earn you within a week after you buy it. On the other hand, let's just wait until the bitcoin price is low for you to buy some bitcoin, but I think right now bitcoins' value is in decrease mode then I would recommend you to wait until the price of it becomes low and if you think your capital to buy some bitcoin is worth enough that youll earn also even in few weeks or months then don't hesitate to buy some youll really earn a lot mate.

It is good to buy an amount that you are willing to lose. The rise or fall of bitcoin price depends on many factors, and honestly, it is difficult to predict. But my advise for you is to buy when the prices are down, then you can either hold or sell when the prices are up.

No it's not, if you did an entry point of price range at $4,050 - $4,500 you are still in good entry point. And actually the price now is $4,700 and considering that bitcoin's price can go up to $10,000 so this price is still good amount to buy. It depends on you but for me a good amount of bitcoin to buy for first time buyers new to the cryptocurrency markets are at least 0.1 BTC because they are new and is learning therefore it would be risky to buy huge amounts for starters. You'd need to put in around 1btc if you're looking to have considerable profit in 1 week. If you're up to it, icos would be more profitable given that you get in a good project. With bitcoin, especially if you get in at lower than 1btc, you may not have a good amount to withdraw after a week

Do you really believe that Bitcoin will go to $1 million? If that happens, then it will be having a market capitalization of around $20 trillion. It is very difficult to imagine such a scenario, as the current global wealth is only around $300 trillion. So you are talking about a scenario where 7% of the global wealth will be in the form of Bitcoin (compared to 2% for gold).

better I would wait first decrease the value of bitcoin before you buy. Because it is better, if the bitcoin value is increase your invest is double profit. In the next two months the value of bitcoin is more increase

about 3000$ , There's sudden fall of btc right now perhaps because of China's banning. I read to other profile that those who buy btc in previous week, are losing around 20% of its capital. Sorry to the investor's but i don't think to panic because ones you enter to this kind of business we already knew the risk. All i can say just keep holding on it. someday will rose up.. Be patient..

i think you must read and learn more about bitcoin but if you start with 100$ it is better so if you loose it it is not big problem

Obviously, the best time to buy Bitcoin is when it has a low price; when it dumps. This is the best thing to do when we are talking about practicality; so what you need to do is to wait for the right time to buy it for you to be successful with a big profit soon.

This doesn't seem too realistic, btc is already recovering from the damage caused by China. Look at the price, it is moving up slowly but it's still growing. I believe now is still a good time to invest in btc long-term expecting 2x profit and short term with around 25% profit. The  second option will not make much sense with low sums to invest, of course, but it's not that bad anyway.
With $100 one could make 20-30 dollars in a month at best. It doesn't really make sense IMO. BTC is and will be the safest investment option of this market, so there's no big danger in investing more that that if one will not need the invested money within the following months.

I am a fan of round numbers and I don't buy something just to buy it. With bitcoin it's a little bit hard, cause of it costs a lot, but to buy at least 0,1 BTC is going to be good investment already. Yes, you will not see hundreds of dollars on your balanse after bitcoins raise, but this can become really good amount for investment which you can raise with some more 0,1 BTC in a time.
Now about the profit that you are so expecting to get. Many people think that after investment they are going to be reach, cause of bitcoin raise nonstop, but in fact it's not like that. Bitcoin is unpredictable long term investment, which is raising in a long run and bringed the huge profit only to those one who invested in it like 5-7 years ago. So if you buy bitcoin today it can bring you +100$ in a hour or it can drop and bring you -1000$ in a week. You never know.

I personally never know exactly what price should buy BTC because bitcoin prices are so unstable, I can only buy after seeing price movements on the market, if we have seen and paid attention to it, we will definitely be able to decide to buy BTC so we can sell back and in order to make a profit in the near future.

Personally i never know how much is good to buy bitcoin, which I know if you want to big profit you must buy a lot of bitcoin as you can afford, but it is worth considering the price of crypto is very fluctuating so it will have a high enough risk in doing this investment, Like the people say high risk high return  ;D

I think if you are also knowledgeable you can use that to know how much will you buy. I think they will not be putting their money on something they don't know of right? If you are also expecting for a good profit return, you track the price and make a purchase when the price is considerable to buy like what is happening this days where bitcoin is starting to take a dump.

Big amount to invest in bitcoin is good because you can earn a lot of profit in the future. But if you want to make sure to prevent big losing invest only you can afford to lose because we dont know what actually price of bitcoin in the future. For me the best amount to buy bitcoin is when it reach $3000 and below but because the price is unpredictable I cannot assure you the amount of return you can have after a week the last time I check bitcoin crash to $2800 then after a week or two it reaches $4000 which really give s high profit to thode who were able to acquire it. For me there is no exact amount but its to good buy bitcoin when it price dump or fall that was the perfect timing for all the buyers because after that you just only need to wait until it pump again so that your bitcoin may increase or doubled. The price of bitcoin was not stable so if you want to earn more buy at a low price and sell it in a high value.

There is no limits on what amount you are going to invest as long as it what you can afford to lose. i think a good amount would be 10 btc with an investment of $40k you can at least easily make money out of everything because your profit would be easily at least 2-3 million dollars and we all want to be millionaires.

The good price to buy bitcoin is nowadays because it price is bit low. And in upcoming days it will rise and then buying will not be easy so the amount required is not high so get started now and  buy low sell high make this pin point and you will be successful.

I thinks the amount to good to buy bitcoins is in the first time it introduce in the market,where most of the bitcoin currency is so easy to buy in a fiat money,and within this week its increase  to three times its current value. So  for me its nice to buy a bitcoin in affordable price and  in return within a week or month its triple its value in the blockchain market.

when it is the time that bitcoin is in the lowest price i don't really know what is the lowest price but make sure that you have some enough budget because if it increases for sure it will make you rich.

To be honest i never keep my expectations very high because bitcoin's price is volatile and nobody knows what will happen next, But i still expect about 15-20% of profit from my investment of .15 BTC to 0.2 BTC.

Buy at least 1 bitcoin and after a year, the price will multiply into two or three. It has a big return when you tried to invest in it. After investing, all you have to do is to hold and wait for the right time before you sell your bitcoin.

For beginners I think $100-$200 is a good amount to start. Buy and see how it works, learn how to storage your coins, watch your progress along the weeks/months, calculate the profit you can make. If you really like your experience with Bitcoins, buy more. But, as you can see bitcoin price is rocketing up in the recent weeks, so, if you still believe that bitcoin can still go up, anytime could be the best time to buy.

There isn't a good amount to buy. I guess as much as you can afford to buy is a good amount. Who knows with this bitcoin thing, it could be a bubble after all and could bust soon enough. You should try to buy Bitcoin after the fork as people will once again start buying Altcoins and that should force the price down

Yes i was also going to say that 100 dollars is a good amount to invest in bitcoin for starters. If you invest now 100 dollars when the price is at 6500 you could get 1000 dollars when the price hits 65k. This will ofcourse take a long time, but it is worth it if you can live withouth spending your bitcoins. I mean if you have a job you can continue living in this world. If you get 1000 dollars you would just have extra money for only time.

It depends on your financial capacities because majority would recommend you to buy at least 1 bitcoin because with such amount of coins you will be able to get some new coins from future forks. So as you can see 1btc * x(total number due to get multiple grants). Any other lower amount should be suited to your potential by the way if you are total newbie here you are even able to buy bitcoin for 10$ learn hot it all works, hot to secure coin, useing wallet, etc. It would be very usefull. in my opinion for beginners you must buy a low amout to try how its work or let we say to learn what will happen on your bitcoin after weeks. Or i suggest must search to gain more strategy on it.  Cause as i know some of the crypto buyers has a strategy to gain more return in just a weeks depends on btc value cause sometimes its always volatile. Buy any amount what u like min 0.0001(i think this is minimum), minus fee mining to carefull. I suggest u should buy 0.01 or above.. You can get interest about 4-10% after one week. But not only Bitcoin, u can buy some coin like: ETH, LTC, DASH. Hope you will earn profit on cryptocoin world

If you can buy or accumulate 1 full Bitcoin, that will be a great investment. But now that will cost you $6500 so it may not be realistic for most people. If you are investing return in a week, bitcoin is not the right choice for you. I doubt even a alt coin will not be able to give good return in this time. Regarding amount to buy, it depends on how much money you have as savings.

Unless OP is really a risk taker where he's willing to take some chances, just like what you have said investing inside cypto and expecting some gain in just a week is not a good practice, you can start small so you will be able to assess the potentials and  before placing much bigger investment better also to learn first everything inside crypto industry, investing with time and knowledge is very important for us to be fully aware, just use the money that we are willing to take the risk.

I am a broken record when it comes to this question but as a financial guy I will lay out a brief financial plan that almost anyone can follow.

1) When do you want to retire?  Have a year range in mind and set your investment goals to that range.  It might be short term or it may be long term ..so tailor your investments accordingly.  BEFORE investing in Bitcoin, you should have a traditional portfolio in place.  

2) 3 buckets.  The average person should have 3 buckets of investments.  Of course age plays a big part in this but as a general guide, as well as not being retired..

Bucket 1-Short term (cash on hand, savings accounts, money markets etc)-Everyone should have this bucket

Bucket 2-Mid term (Stocks, mutual funds, bonds ETFs, etc)

Bucket 3-Long Term (401k, 403b, 457, pensions, IRA etc)

After all 3 buckets have been filled..then you can pull in a 4th bucket called the "speculative bucket".  In this 4th bucket I like to invest in riskier more speculative types of investments such as BTC , commodities and riskier stocks.  This is where you can hit home runs and if the rest of your portfolio is well established as well as diverse...then investing a small % of your net worth could make good sense.  No one has any clue where bitcoin is heading so you can't guarantee profits just like you can't with traditional investments.

As of now, I believe the lowest rate someone would buy was $6000 and that price rate has passed, so anyone buying now is not buying at the lowest rate. Some people have tried this in the past, but this has been always been a bad idea after all if you fail you will be left with no money and with a lot more debts that you will need to repay and most likely the interest rates that you need to pay on the loan will be too big for you to pay, so even if at some point in the future the coins in which you invested grow up in value it is unlikely you will be able to pay your debts.
