I thought that there was an instantaneous decrease in ethereum with bitcoin.and after these events I thought of as a momentary decrease, I got 50 ethereum  from 260 dollars. I can not decide what to do with certain levels. Of course, it is not right to make sales like this.my mind came up with the idea of joining an ico or a going ico . I thought maybe I could save the damage in this way, but I'm not quite sure. what should i do? Should not I?I've been loss since the day. I do not want to loss any more, but I can not find a solution. I am delighted to share your ideas in this regard.

Its your choice and you do have the decision if you can able to take the risk on joining ICO but in my point I wont join as of the current state on where News is everywhere specially on ICO banning we cant really assure if those ETH we do have would able to recover or would lose even more.If you are on hesitation or doesn't sure on joining ICO then its better to hold off your eth than to possibly waste those amounts even more.

You shouldnt be worried about this, price will recover as it always does. I think it is a great idea also investing in ICos i was also thinking about this, mostly all good ICOs by entering market after a while have a price x2 or even more.

I'll wait it out if i'm in your situation. Only a couple of days just past since the start of the dip. Did you bought 50 eth with only $260 or you bought each eth at the price of $260?  You still have huge profit after the price is slowly declining so it's basically a win. Join an ico if that's what you really want it's your money anyways.  ;)

unfortunately I did not perform in a gradual way :( I made this purchase from the point where ETH came in for $ 260 first. so the cost of each 1 eth is the same.there was just a momentary rise and an increase of 10%. if btc rise a little higher than now, should i sell what I have against the risk of falling ?If I think I have entered ico, I will have to wait a certain day. but I'm afraid that if it goes up again during that time and I can not catch the  raised price. I guess I should wait now. I hope that it will probably come to an end in the next few days.

You question is not properly clear to me. If you have bought 50ETH in exchange of 260USD, I would suggest you to hold it. Ethereum is a very good crypto according to me and has a good future. Hold it until you can get some profit (or zero loss in that regard) and then sell it - however that depends on how much anxious you are and if the thought of having lost some money is making you depressed.

However if you are desperate and going to join an ICO, I would suggest you to do proper research and analysis before you invest in any ETH based tokens. There are hundreds of ICO that are turning out as shitcoins and I would not want you to be a victim of that.

Personally I feel, if you have ETH, hold it for sometime till prices rise then sell it for some profit.

If I were you, I will surely be waiting or will be holding my coins. As for the prices will be back sooner or later and maybe if I get a bit uneasy and can't wait, I will be investing my coins to a promising ICO that I can search.

You will only be at a loss after selling so don't sell. It's very likely to see it going down but honestly, you bought a large amount so better continue to hodl, It may decrease in the short term because of exchanges closure but It will definitely comeback up. If you are still afraid then buy USDT but watch the price at all times, If you see that it started going up once again then starting buying (ETH).

The problem is, you bought it at $260 and current price is $217, maybe it will continue to decline due to following bitcoin falling down.
Sell-off isn't an option obviously, do not sell it but wait until next month, if you can. Because ethereum may come back over $300 later if bitcoin could recover. Invest in an ICO is a good idea as well, but just invest 1-10 ETH, do not invest more than that because you will wait a little longer to get profits after the ICO finished and the coin listed on a trading platform. It's just a game of time, how long you can wait until ethereum rise again? 1-2 months isn't so bad.

If you're worried that your investment in ETH may decrease in value, then I highly recommend that you stay away from ICOs.  ETH has at least established itself as a valuable crypto, making it a less risky investment than new coins.  I can't remember the context, but I thought I saw something in an article the other day about up to 90% of ICOs being frauds/scams.  That may have been in a particular country or some other specific setting, but either way, that's a very concerning number.  Do you really want to trade in an established crypto for something that may only have a 10% chance of not being a scam?

I went completely into standby mode. I think I can wait for about 2 months. we will make an assessment again afterwards. Not Generally all ICO's are scam but there are still some who do have future ahead but comparing them on ETH i can say that its too far away.In op if he did bought on that kind of amount and now the price have dip-pen as of the current state which it would normally decrease your investment or value of your holdings and as being suggested it better to hold it of as of now.

I did a little searching, and I think I got that 90% from articles that were stating what the Peoples Bank of China said.  So I guess you should take that with a big grain of salt.  A lot of people seem to think that there haven't been that many ICOs that have engaged in fraudulent activities globally; some speculate that the rate has only been that high in China.

In any case, risk and reward go hand-in-hand.  So you might get really lucky and hit it big with an ICO investment, but the chances aren't that great.  Furthermore, if you are going to invest in ICOs, be sure you do your research, and maybe invest in a number of them so you increase your chances that at least one of them will do well for you.

You do not want to lose anymore but you are here and it is taking a risk.  Investing on digital currency is the same as investing our money on shares on stock.  There always a risk and you should be aware of that.  In any case, for sure it will going back to be strong because bitcoin is going up again.

Well, one of the reasons cryptocurrencies are decreasing in it's value is because ICO's are being named as scams, and there have been many that are like that ! If you are sure you want to invest in them, you should only risk what you can afford to lose. You may win as everything related to crypto is uncertain. If I were you, I would hold because I believe this is just a bad phase, as the some that already happened between 2009 and today !

The value of ethereum and all crypto is derived from the current market value of btc. To accurately predict ethereum's future, we must have a solid conception of where btc is headed. There are generally two ways that I know of to interpret btc's recent price movements.

#1 BTC's price was declining possibly due to an attempt to push its price down with the end game intent of buying cheap btc to profit when the price swings upwards again.

#2 BTC's price decline was possibly due to some type of coordinated attack on btc.

These are the two main options I know of. Depending on which is true, that could help someone have a clearer picture of where the market is headed and what decisions might be best.

Younshould be looking at a long term goal here. If you're dealing with btc and eth, whose movements are pretty steady on a regular basis, big news and changes can make any short term traders nervous and anxious, which may result in a big loss. You sure got a lot of Ethereum at low price, what's with the damage? You said that you got 50 eth @ $260 which is in favor. Eth's price will increase as bitcoin increases too. And if you are saying that you had loss since the past dips better not to worry about it, because you will still get profit on it. Try to look at your eth's with longer term of investment, I suggest to keep on holding but if you want to join some ICO's, join those reliable ones.

Not that the price has increased, it is still not in its peak price on at least 4500$. Not just eth that went down and offcourse other crypto too. I think you should wait a little bit because there are still chances for the price to increase in just few days. I mean i day it increased 700$.

Yes most of the crypto's did experienced to fall for this week and ETH and bitcoin are the major coins that has been affected. But waiting until the price of ETH gets up to $700 maybe it can happen next year or for the next 2 years. Holding it will be a wise thing to do if you want just to hold it but as OP intended to say that he's been losing since the day of price fall. I just can't understand it.

Your position is quite better, some others bought ETH at the time it was above $300 but they didn't give up hope. I think your line of action is quite OK because you know the right option to hedge against your losses but at the same time, you need to be careful not to leave a better of situation to worse of scenerio.

There are several ICOs going on with some that have proven their worth, while some more others are just noise makers. Make a lit of those that are of interest, and spread your investment on them and do it early in other to get the bonus at the right time.

Historically, this has been true.  However, I think some of the other major cryptos, like ETH, are slowly starting to decouple from BTC.  A few years ago, bitcoin was the only crypto that could be converted to fiat, and everything else traded against bitcoin.  That's no longer the case, now that major exchanges like coinbase support converting some of the other major cryptos directly to fiat.  When bitcoin falls, almost everything else still falls with it.  But when bitcoin is stable or increasing, some of the other cryptos take off.  Look how much ETH exploded earlier this year.  In percentage terms, there was a period of time when it was increasing a lot faster than bitcoin.

Just get out of this small-time Investments and get into the big Market. You should have never been delving into those little tiny things the first place. They're too volatile and chances lost too high. If it's important to you that you need to stick to the big markets with less volatility.

Divide your coin and do not go for one decision alone. If you want to cover the loss then you need to grow or add some more ethereum from your current balance so you can have a chance to recover the loss in fiat by gaining more amount of ethereum. You can do that by joining good ico and selling it on a good price or by trading altcoin which is the best because you can earn up to 10% in just one day.

I think investing on ICOs is a good choice, it's better to invest your ETH on it. Just find a good project that have a good future on their coin and also still have a bonus on it. If you choose to hold your ETH, don't sell it right now. It's your only choice if you want to hold your ETH, wait until the ETH price increase.

Personally, I would hold on to my coins. The decrease in price is something we can not do anything about. Looking forward for the values to increase as the market becomes more stabilized.

Personally, I will hold the ETH. And investing a portion in ICO if I find the project to be good.

I won't blame you based on the choices you made because its a risk you took whose outcome cannot be predicted as at the time such was made but at the same time, holding ETH might also not the right way to go at this time because it might take  a long wait for recovery to happen in full. And for that reason I would support your point of action but be very careful so you don't add money to someone pocket

Joining an ICO is fine as long as you do your own research and proven that the ICO project is real and not just a money grab project where they leave their holders hanging.  


I think it is up to you, ETH was around 0.14 BTC previous month and now its value is less than half of the figure I given.  And selling it right now to buy  an ICO token would be a bit risky but if you are lucky you can make your current ETH grow maybe two or three times. ( Taking Investfeed as an example.)  But I believe ETH will recover in due time and if you can wait for that then it is best to just hold your ETH.

I couldn't agree more with you, it's very common that someone with huge amount of any currency after quiet strong decline is scared that situation.

ICO you can gain huge amount of cash after successful launch, but nowadays ICO are highly dengerous mainly because of China's goverment. If you afraid of loss your ETH ico will bring you much more stress if you invest your money.
Holding ETH is pretty intresting option, because you bought ETH for 260 now is 250 so price is approaching. Maybe you will be able to take profit?

$260 price for ethereum is a good price already. As you can see, the price is always bounce back. ICO is a good investment only if you do your own research of that specific coin. Too many scammers are already using ICO to rob peoples money and abandon their coin.

This is such a good point that so many people miss.  You need to be able to handle the emotions that come with your investments so that you make rational decisions.  The most profitable trades usually don't feel right at the time.  And the best way to keep your emotions in check is not to risk too much.  If your investments are causing you to worry, lose sleep, etc., then you're risking too much.  Although it won't be as profitable, it's very freeing to trade smaller amounts that you aren't so afraid to lose.  It's easier to make better decisions.  And if you do that over time and become more confident in your abilities to make the right calls, you will be able to trade with larger amounts in a rational manner.  And that's when you'll start to earn serious money.

I agree to that. Most of the scammers right now are just creating ICO project and they are fooling the investor by giving promises that their project is a great project and they are serious to it but after the ICO event then they will slowly abandon the coin and leave the investor in a dust. It is best to make a research and look for a great professional team before investing.

I know I might be repeating what others have told you already but rest assured, these pumps are very common in the Bitcoins market. The price will rise and fall and that's why it is so much more interesting. You need to hold on to your ETH. You've bought it at a considerably low price. Wait for BTC to rise up to 4.5k in a few months and sell your coins. ETH is a well stabilized cryptocurrency and it's future is bright. If you have 50 ethereum in your wallet and if you bought 260 dollars each. You cant lose money why? Because the price of ethereum as of now is 300 dollars and you earn profit not lose your money. Dude... you made an amazing decision to buy 50 Ethereum for only $260 each. That is a steal! They will soo go back over $400 and you will be a very happy man. :)

If you really concern about your profit then you can book partial amount profit like 10 or 20 ETH sell now and if prices go down again then you buy at lower prices if not you still got few ETH to enjoy the higher profit. No investments will always go only one direction so these ups and downs are common in all investments. You should make a decision based on your needs. If you need some urgent money then book some partial profit now or just hold onto it.

I respect your own decision OP for just holding all your eth but if you still reconsider to just hold atleast half of your eth and the remaining you can invest it on other coins so your eth won't just sleep on your wallet. But if you're too hesitant to do this and don't want to take the risk, well it's all up to you brother. ;)

The only person that could help you is yourself, you're the only one who has the power to make that decision. Just make sure it will be worth it and you won't regret your decision, anyways if you go for long term it will still profit.

You should buy bitcoin equivalent to your 50 ethreum.It is a great opportunity as the market of bitcoin has gone below stable level.
A real trader would not let this moment to go. You have higher chances to make double of your money in some days while keeping money in bitcoin.

I suggest you to convert them back to bitcoin even with low price cause it has more growth potentiels than ethereum. Instead of investing in a trusted known project.

Exactly you are right. If you have ethereum at such low buy rate then what is the problem? Like bitcoins, altcoins and all other coins are increasing with some variant speeds but they do. So don’t worry just hold them for maybe 2-3 years and see the fantastic world after that.

The answer would be "HODL" because $260 purchased price is not really too high and knowing ETH price do really potentially rise up again and might even break its ATH either on this year or on 2018 depending on how the market goes as long you dont need those funds then better to hold it of than risking it on putting into ICO but well its your own money the final decision would be still yours.

You should keep your eyes on the crypto market, and as you realize that a specific currency is more valuable you should invest in that. The currency gains its value because of the people behavior and attitude. Where the people invest the price will go high and when the price of a certain thing goes high most of the people invest there. So it is all about the market cap and value that attract the people.

I won’t suggest him to collect this nonsense coin again. There is no need to waste money on this useless digital currency. If he has faced big losses with eth, I will suggest him not to go back to the same coin rather he should try bitcoins for recovering his losses. I will advice you to keep calm and wait for the price to rise, the dips in the price is quite normal thing in cryptocurrencies market so you should be always prepare for it.  ICO is a good option for investing and earning a decent profit but it is somehow more risky too, no body is sure which coin is going to rise and which one is going to dump after ICO. You probably bought near the top of the bubble, there are only two things you can do if you want to recover your money, the easiest one is to hold eventually you are going to recover your money if you wait long enough but you need patience, the second way is doing what you are thinking, invest in icos, but at this moment the ico market is weak thanks to China ban on icos.

My friend, be patient because what happen right now are just the adjustment since there are many special cases which affect bitcoin value. However time to time it fluctuates, consider  where did bitcoin starts and until now , how far is this things soar up,  The same thing follow at the present. Don't lose hope because it will recover soon..

Think about people who bought Bitcoin for $1,000 and then it crashed down to $200. Many of them probably thought they lost everything (just like OP), but in just a few years they have now multiplied their money by 4.5x. This is the power of HODLING!

don't worry about a thing we all know that price will recover soon and im expecting it before this year end. Ihave also an ETH besides bitcoin and I could say that ETH is one of the most good altcoin out there. Don't invest when the price is having a hard times we all know that after the panic selling the price really went down under $3000 so don't worry the price will go bubble again soon.

Oh yes eth is the top 2 crypto, it's next to bitcoin but eth has a really great potential for holding it for long term.
Like bitcoin it has a huge community support and good coin circulation  and we see a lot of coins that are in ethereum platform. In short it can be trusted, so OP you can hold your eth for long term or diversify it to some other coins like bitcoin and waves. I know you already have trust issues with coin because of your lose but trusting and believing with our coins is the least that we can do.

Current price of ethereum is $285, so you have passed the initial price when you bought it in the first place.
Whenever dip happens, do not sell your coins, because it's a loss, right? That's why you should planned and be able to hold it for long term, at leas 2-3 month. Invest in ICO is a good thing as well, but make sure to be picky about the best project around.

Honeslty man I would suggest holding your ETH. It is backed by Microsoft and so you know it is likely to succeed and increase in value over the coming years.

Beyond that a whole lot of other altcoins and tokens depend on it for existence and that can be viewed from the point of view of a huge community base and by extension a liquid market thriving with buyers and sellers.

lol, as he mentioned in the first page, he bought each ETH for 260 dollars not 260 dollars for 50 ethereum and he's now happen to lost money because of the price dumping toward bitcoin and ethereum aswell.
holding eth is the best way, after hardfork im pretty sure that the price will skyrocketing, it's mainly because of PoS so, keep on HODLing.

Why do you think that POS will lead to the increase in the price of ETH? The whales will reduce the price in order to buy coins. Then it is not known how the market will react to such innovations. Personally I don't trust ETH. I mined a few coins and exchanged them for bitcoin. Now I won't be able to do so for fine Ethereum will cease to exist.

For me I think it would be in the best interest to stayon where you are and fold in a sense to cut yourlosses and it would be very helpful also if in the next time you study and you try to invest in more fruitful ventures so that this scenario might be avoided.

   It is hard to understand Koton, if he thinks that you should hold your ethereum coins I agree with him. It is
not good time for selling any coin cause of drama about bitcoin, all prices are dropping in past few months.
   I am watching what is happening, and since beginning of this year price of bitcoin started to rise and many
alt-coins followed that trend. In past month rumors from China shake entire crypto-currency market and prices
dropped. Market will recover like other members are saying.
   ICO`s are not bad things, personally I invested in couple casino ICO`s and I will see how much I was right
about their future. There are other good ICO`s that offers more technological innovations, that is not my field
and I can not speak much about it, I am doing some researching and probably I will invest in more new coins.

You are missing the point ETH may be at 300 dollars, but the price in dollars is not important because it is very likely that he bought that ETH with BTC and ETH has been crashing in terms of bitcoin since bitcoin outpaced ETH growth after the hard fork so if the op converts to BTC now he will lose a lot of money in terms of BTC, he needs to hold in the hope ETH goes up once again, that may be possible but it is going to take a lot of time.

It is true that is risky in joining in different ICO because some of the ICO's today are now scam. The real reason why ICO is created because all of the developers and creators want to become rich.

It is better to just keep your eth, the price will go up again, now there are so many project that used eth, so don't be afraid that the price can become zero, but the rising is not as fast as Bitcoin, if you decide to join ICO then really make sure you know what you buy, ICO got a greater risk than holding eth

Sometimes icos are risky, and the reason is that a few people want to scam and they just spend like 100-200$ to develop a new coin just for the sake of raising funds, after the funds are raised, they run away and it becomes hard to get the money back. If you here for long term Eth should probably increase, I don't think it will increase much in the short run.

I think you have done well with your investment because the price of bitcoin fell down almost 1500 dollars and it is a big loss.

Any other crypto currency is very cheap and I think investment in those currencies is a good decision because they are also increasing their values in the market and one day they will also reach thousands of dollars. Just buy them and hold them and wait for price to grow.

OP, the way I see it, the whole thing depends on your emotions. And that is affecting your decisions on business. Take that out and you will be fine on trades. You can also invest part of the 50 Ether into a cryptocurrency platform and program that fetches you daily interest as residual income. If you wonder what that is, it is the  bitconnect coin program. I am sure with what is happening today to price, you would have been happy about the decision you took only if you hadn't took the easy way out though. That's one unique thing about crypto currency, you don't put in money and be checking everyday thinking it would have increased hundred folds, sometimes it might happen but most times, one needs maximum patience to really get to reap the benefit of taking such risk.

I'm not sure about the price ether seems like a really risky investment for me because of ico as the people who raise funds can anytime sell their funds and cause the price to fall. About ico there are very less ico which can be trusted most of them have no plan for the future i invested in very few ico but if you still wanna try don't invest everytime maybe maximum 5 ether

Keep half of the amount of ETH you have as ETH only. After Bitcoin, ETH is next big thing in crypto market. Have some patience with your investment and wait for atleast a year to withdraw back. Diversify the other half in some potential coins and even in ICO tokens if you find some good project. If you already have enough in Bitcoin, then no need to invest in Bitcoin. If you don't, then invest in Bitcoin as it is safest in long term.

Maybe the worst desition that you can make is invest into an ICO.. There are a lot of fraud programs that only raises money at pre-ico and ico stages, and then they dissapears, i have been paying attention to a lot of projects like that in the last years. So if you are going to invest into one, then try to make your max effort to investigate that company, and what are their purpose.. I saw an ico trying to raise funds for creating a new website like twitter..

I think Ethereum has greater potential than Bitcoin at the moment. It is simply used by so many businesses and relied on by so many that it has to go up. I think this is why Microsoft invested in it. Think about this... back when Microsoft was first growing, they eventually gained a monopoly as everyone was dependent on them. I think ETH is the same sort of thing and it is no coincidence that Microsoft is part of it.

There are ICOs that have promising projects and if you think they can deliver it then invest to it. There are many people who invest in ICOs because they think its far more profitable to invest in it earlier and some have been profitable while others have loss some amount because they invest in a ICO that gradually decrease in value. You research first the developers of the coin if they are likely to be legit because many people are also looking at the developers. If their project has a real usage or just copycat of others then you have to look at it also. You may have the option also of just holding your ethereum because it will rise up in the future eventually.

I suggest that you should wait the right time, don’t worry about the price, the price might increase or decreasing just faith and believe the greater the obstacle, the greater the glory in overcoming it.

I don’t see the need for you to be worried. Ethereum is the most promising altcoin in the market today and I don’t think any dip/dump like what happening on bitcoin is an alarming signs for collapse.

Everyone has his own way of looking up at the things. I consider if ETH to be the good choice but actually it is not that much good choice as it seems to be. ETH is only good for day trading and that’s all. You can never rely on ETH if you are planning for long term investment or even holding. Go for ETH only when you are good at day trading and only then it will help you earn a good amount of profit.

If I had some money to spare I will invest in ETH, ETH is very far away from its all time high when you look at it in terms of bitcoin, I will not be surprised if that all time high was surpassed in the next year, which means that you could easily double your money in a very short amount of time, so the entry point is great for anyone looking for a solid coin that is relatively cheap.

Never get panic when your investment is going through a dip that too when you have invested in the second most popular coin with decent potential. Such coins can always recover. Unless you have invested in a very small cap coin with shit potential, never panic.

I’m not sure I will use the word promising when referring to ETH, ETH has already delivered on its promises so it is a reality, but at the same time that means that ETH cannot grow as much as other coins since its market cap is huge so at the end it is about what you want, if you want a solid coin invest in ETH but if you want to take your chances then investing in other altcoins can be a good choice.

Its because of some issues as of now, that is why there is a great impact in other alternate coins such as ethereum, but it doesn't mean that Eth is a bad investment. If it will happen to me as of now i would invest in ethereum since i see a great potential in it, and some have said that it hasn't reach the all time high, i think yes its not yet maybe next year.

In my own opinion,you need to work hard to earn bitcoin.you need be atleast jr. Member .just keep on posting and join a signature campaign so that you can earn and dont lose hope this is just the beginning of being rich soon.

Along with the signature campaign one can also start trading if they are aware of the basic rules and have some understanding of the trading art. Also a freelancing work is a good job where you posts your skills and accordingly if people require they may hire you for their work and you will get paid in btc as a work done for them.

I would also not advise you to join ICOs,if you do not have enough experience.Out of all the ICO's maybe 10 percent is profitable,so stay away if you're not sure what it's about.

use a few percent for trading and partly follow ico with a good project. you can see that ico can be profitable by looking at bounty managers, reasonable projects with coin allocation, roadmap and country origin and team inside. more thoroughly highly recommended

There are so many options available but all these options are not suitable for you. There will be only few of the options which will match your skillset. You need to search for those options which matches with your skills. Trading, holding, mining and joining signature campaign all are good but it is you who has to decide which one out of these is the most favorable.
