What to do when price keep dropping ?

I think we should be calm and not sell Bitcoin at this time. We have to wait for Bitcoin to be pumped from Chinese investors because China has made Bitcoin prices a lot of impact and this is not really good.

keep calm and just wait til it rises back, nothing good you can get from panicking and just sell immediately, instead of gaining you lose more because your emotions, never let your emotions interfere your trades, they will cause you more trouble in the end, you need to have iron balls, or just divert your attention anywhere else so you wont always see the prices.

Just wait and see when the price stop dropping then you can buy bitcoin when that time come. We all know according to price history of bitcoin that after each big decrease in price it would bounce back again and reach a price higher than before. So just relax and enjoy investing or whatsoever you do to earn bitcoins.  :)

Check the news, find out why the price is dropping and then speculate whether the price is going to go up again or not, if it still got chances to go up them go to buy and hold it, wait for the right timing to sell, if there is no chances to go up again just find other coin

I will try to know what is the reason for the dropping by searching the news, since the dropping is caused by closing Chinese exchanges, so I sold the coins on these exchanges or withdraw them out to a safe exchange.

Keep it! That's the best option because definitely it will go up again. I saw that the price dropped down for the past week but I know that the market value will go up again. BTC is unstoppable nowadays and I think it will rule the business world for the next years - probably next decade.

It depends on what you're trading. If you're trading alt coins, and if you're looking to invest for the long term, you should definitely hold if you believe in the project. If you're day trading then you might want to sell in order to stop losing money. Now if it's Bitcoins, you should just hold them as the price will eventually rebound.

There are 4 actions you can take,
1) Sell everything. Depending on your buying price you may be in profit or perhaps loss.
2) Sell a proportion so you can take some profit then use those funds to buy back later.
3) Do nothing and hope for recovery.
4) Buy more if you believe price will rise in future.

I think we'll just have to wait until its price will rise again . Because the price of the coins is varying , it means that its not only dropping its also rising and we just have to be updated for the prices everytime.

I think it depends on the reason causing the dropping, it is a good change to buy some BTC and ETH, but is maybe not a good chance to buy some altcoin that is small.

When price keeps on dropping you either hold your coins or you buy them every time it dips down and do averaging. Don't panic because eventually  it will just increase back its price or value.

That happens all the time. Sometimes drops in prices keep going on for a little while. But do not be emotionally affected by it and act immediately as a reaction. Try to weigh things down and keep reading about the latest updates, the one-sided comments and FUDs. Be rational about such things. This will be better in the days to come.

I don't think that holding as much altcoins as possible really makes a lot of sense. One should always thin whether the coin is worth the risk. I currently have only one coin in the future of which I believe (apart from btc). That's IOTA. When it dropped, I bought some more of it. Yet if some insignificant coins drop then maybe that's the end for them and it's better to sell them, or reinvest into some more promising ones.

This is the best thing to do when price of BTC and altcoins are dropping down low. I don't understand people sometimes, they want the prices of BTC and altcoins to become cheap but when prices start dropping down, they are afraid and spread FUDs about BTC and crypto ending and nearing death. WTF!

It's important to understand why the price goes down, when you have found out the reasons, you can take a wise decision. For the Bitcoin, no need to panic.
For altcoin, I, personnaly, don't hold to much at the same time .

Actually you have two options, it's either you withdraw it or to wait for it to recover.

I tried all your plans and it worked for me many and made a lot of profits on the investment I made. When every the price of any coin is reducing just hold the coin until the value bounces back.

I will wait and watch to calm down the market and when market steplise, I will buy the coins that was in my buying list and waut for the market to rise. I will sell my coins when they reach my sell target.

What to do when price keeps dropping? Stop acting like a little girl stressing over any of your investments that are losing value, and try to do that by understanding the temporary nature of the market. Anything can fall in price and then come back and vice versa. Read up a couple of books on trading, especially the ones that highlight the psychological part of this activity. If you can't handle the stress, do not go to any exchanges for a while and just try to do other stuff. I don't know, my personal thought is that only strong people can make money in these markets, the ones who have enough balls, patience and knowledge. The ones who do not overreact to every price swing.

We should buy more if price is dropping.donot panic .we should average our investment.soon we can see we are in profit so keep purchasing in dropping of price.

First, sell it ( cut loss ) and second keep hold. When you take first option, loss your fund will happen but you can save your trading. Another day you can find another profit. But when you take second option, see your strategy and analyze again. Your " hold " can take long time and also make you lost emotion control. I only suggest first option and have a nice day.

sometimes confusion arises when we see crypto value decreases. that's human, I often like you.
but there is always a solution to it. you can sell or hold it. but if for the coins I believe in, I tend to just hold back and try to think positively.

hello, i guess you have two options: 1. sell now and regret later, because i belive the price will raise and 2. keep calm, don't sell your bitcoins, and wait for better price, maybe it will take one-two month, maybe more.... but i belive it's better this way

Long answer: Look at the 50, 100 and 200 SMA and aim to buy in at the support levels.  Don't sell when at new lows. Noobs panic on these correction, HODLers see these as a black Friday sales :)

One last thing: Don't trade on margin unless you REALLY know what you're doing.

It's impossible to call the low. So if you did your homework and really believe in the project and the people then buy more when it does go low, because you know it will go back up and then some sometime in the future.

And never use margin for hold altcoins ;D. In few months ago, I just holded Ripple and Stellar in 2 months (I accept high fees from margin) but it made me a big loss and I lossed ~95% my funds (I did not use cut-loss). ::)

Depends on cryptocurrency. If you are talking about bitcoin - I wouldn't suggest to sell it in the nearest future, because obviously it will rise again, so you'd rather buy it, when the price keeps dropping, instead of selling. In case of altcoins, which seem reliable, like LTC, ETH, XMR - you can sell some part of it, like half or more - then if the price still keeps dropping you at least saved some part of it, if it drops and then rises - you even made a profit. But as for new and too promising altcoins I'd say you better sell all of them, because it's 99% scam.

Based on your question it depends on situation and for what you are trading at. So i must say that if the coin is keep on dropping stay calm until it not reach the price that you have buy on it not selling it and wait for its pump if you have believe on that coin that it will pump again then why not you hold for it only and dont panic to sell.

For coin holders, when the price keep dropping that's the difficult situation for them. When we faced such condition, it is better not to see the price movement for a period of time. If we keep watching it, the chance to make a bad decision is greater because we are at the bad mood. Keep believe that the price of our coins will increase again someday!

These price drops and rises have been happening a lot already since the dawn of crypto currencies. So I wouldn't worry that much. i'd  basically panic though. i'd be running here and there when price keeps falling. what i would is to buy the cheapest coin as possible or simply just buy tether (USDT). panicking is good but you have to think what to do.

lets saying you are traveling a 2 hour drive going to your house while the chinese are dumping all their btc, you'd panic seeing your money from 100K down to 80K.  its like being robbed literally.

First of all before buying a coin I make sure that they have arleady not done a 3x 4x or 5x. You can never expect a profit from these type of coins. Try to find new undiscovered projects which have not been shilled much and are in accumulation zone. Incase i buy some overhyped coin, i always use stop loss. Even if somehow i have got into a bad trade, last option is to average down the buy price.

And if any price drop happened i will be very happy because i will get one more chance to buy bitcoins for less price so. if everyone understands this trick, then no one will do the panic selling.

Check the news and feedback first before panicking. There's a reason why prices are dropping, it could be another whale, or some major event happened, or just a temporary drop. It's really hard to decide whether to keep or sell coins. But, calm down and decide wisely whether what decision are you going to make.

Patience is the key. You should never sell in a down trend. Becaue you will lose money if you do. If you wait enough your coins will get back to their original values.

It depends on whether what coin are you referring to. If you're talking about bitcoin, you should know that it would recover soon. If you're holding altcoins, read news or articles about the reason and base your judgement on what you've learned from it.

Well all depends on when you enter the market and that determine whether to sell or not to sell. Although for me personally I rather wait just like what I did with bitcoin before the laater return to $4000.

If you want to sell high and buy lower in then you should only sell when you read big news, such as China banning ICO's. This means the price will continue to drop.
If you're panicking because of your investments, then you should cut off your internet for a week. If you don't cut off your internet, at least buy in very very low to make more profit when it rises again :)

What I do when the price keeps dropping is laugh at all the panicking newbies and I go to Reddit and read all the speculation. It really brightens my day.

usually wait when the normal price returns even rise back up to how many days? when have small capital and the price should come down sometimes there our patience tested and very unfortunate when we have to sell cheaply with losses that continue to hit.

Honestly, sometimes I think why do not keep my money till the price of all coin drop down to the hell (bottom price) on the market? This is best time to buy any coins and take a profit ~10-30% is possible, even I am sure 99% we will earn good profit from that time ;D

What I would do if the price keeps throwing away is keep monitoring the price movements and wait until the price is right below, then I will buy again in large enough quantities to overcome my first loss.

i just buy bitcoin or other altcoins when i see that theier price has dropped greatly as long as i can affod it or i had some available balance on my wallet. after it ill hold them again and maybe trade some of my altcoins because i do also trading on polo and in bittrex.

That is the best time for you to start buying more coins because the price are cheaper and wait till the price increase again or HODL your coins for long term. If your altcoin is either Bitcoin or Ethereum you should'nt be worried because if the price drops, it will eventually increase again. Why ? Because this kind of altcoins are varying the value or the price.

If you know what you are doing and you are good at trading then this is an opportunity for profit as you can take short positions.

I think the best thing to do when the price keep on dropping is to keep on buying and everyone should grab the opportunity to buy in dips. Don't panic because once you do that you will regret. Invest now and harvest later that's the only way we earn safely. Try to understand the flow of previous prices and you will realize how Eth made it's way up just like Bitcoin. Since I am not a trader, so I used this method "Buy low and hodl." ;D

With upcoming releases it'll go higher again. Many other coins are the same, we've seen LTC do the same, BTC bump back up, and ETH too - you buy low and sell when it goes back up. By buying in again low, you'll bring down your break even price.

If you can't afford to keep buying, then you have to weigh up the fees of selling and then buying back in. It's a difficult game to predict, but ask yourself how long you're in it for...if it's for a quick buck and you're not that knowledgeable on the project...maybe duck out on the slide. Try to judge the reason behind the dropping and if it's probable that the coin is goinging to drop too much, sell it immediately and when it drop to very extent, but it back but this is a suitable strategy for only top rated coins. like few days ago when BTC price fell because of china ban on ICO and exchanges, BTC fell to about half price and after sometime it started to recover.

Staying calm would be a wise thing to do in that kind of situation. There is no use in selling while everything's going down, you will only löse. What you need to do is wait till things make dip and buy some cheap coins , eventually things will turn back to normal and you will probably be a richer man than you were before the fall.

In general i am long term holder, however i have a small number of coins available for trading (and trade whenever prices drop).
In the case of dropping i sell and wait it to drop further and buy again resulting in increasing my coins.
This does not always work in favour of course. Few times it happened that while dropping i sold and then price increased. I was just waiting for the price to drop again and buy. Was happy enough to get almost the same number of coins i had before. Do not panic to sell.

First of all I make research related to negative price development. If I see something suspicious I sell and stay away that coin. If I see it is a speculative move, as happened to bitcoin after JP Morgan Ceo talked about it, I understand it is going to go up after speculator buys the dip.

This is the logic I follow. While price is dropping, I generally buy if I have fiat money or bitcoin. I never panic, when people panic, whales are getting more and more money from them. Just be relax and watch the market.

The best thing to do when the price are going down is to buy crypto currency which ever you like but I would prefer buying ethereum or bitcoins as there are more profitable than other crypto currencies.Also that as prices are going down keep calm and either buying or hold don't panic and sell this will always cause regrets in future.Always keep an eye on the market and see how it moves and then only decide what to do.

I guess being calm at all times can be good options to do, because without control of your panic during uncertainties will not make you analyze the worst scenario. Some hopeless investors seemed to regret after all, wrong decisions due to panic will come out and ruined the future plans of your investments.

If you think the market just overreacted to something that's why its price falls ,then buying more coins may be a good thing. It is important to realize that it is not advisable to simply buy the dip. You may consider "Buy the correction". Or sometimes , the best thing to do when your coins' price has fallen is to dump your coins and cut your losses.

This is a big factor of tension in the bitcoin with fiat trading because big fluctuations results into big loss ( some times to into big profit ) .
Here we can't make change our buy sell in the old rate but what if we bought at high price and after that price go down step by step .
Here we can lower the risk by only by making more buy .
Here i can explain with a example , suppose you bought bitcoin at price 3000$ , but the price get changed to 2500$ then you need to buy more bitcoin so that you can make average the price original of the bitcoin in current time .
So here you have better option to use that i told but surely you need to have lot of money in your pocket to buy more and more bitcoin with every fall in the price of the bitcoin .

That is tough to say and I think is situation dependent.  In some cases, the tech and development of a coin have fizzled out and the team has not delivered in some time. In those instances it may be time to sell.  In other cases the market may be being manipulated by whales who are pumping and dumping. If you get caught on the wrong side of the dump and still believe the coin has potential and the development team is still producing results this could be a good time to buy more or just hold for the long term.  Its tough to say what is the right thing to do in such a voalitle market without extensive research and even then you could be wrong.

It is just happen everytime that the value of cryptocurrency will go down! and I just hold it because I just don't want to cash-out it early.

The price goes up and down, well what do you expect? Is there any difference about it? The only thing that I do is calm down. With a proper knowledge about stock market, we all should know know what to do.

If prices keep dropping due to some negative news and you think it would have a long term impact then in such cases I do sell my coins to greater extent. Since the recovery will happen but may or may not be immediate. Due to which I will always have a chance to buy at lower price and make some gains as price will move upward from there. Every one may have different opinion as per their experiences.

i think its better to hold the fiat, for real life need currency instead of cryptos, and there is always sometime you need to use money, unless you are free of financial, also hold the fiat means you can buy at a low price

If the price is dropping i think you should wait and observe for some time, after waiting for a few days if the price still keep dropping you should just use you bitcoins / change it to some other currency

Whether to dump a coin in case of drop depends upon the coin you invested. If you see some potential in the coin because of marketcap, project or whatsoever reason, hold as your coin will eventually recover in long term. But if the coin you invested is just a pump and dump driven, then sell your coin before further loss. Also, it depends upon how much loss you incurred. If your investment has dropped like 70-80%, then there is no fun in selling. In such situation holding would be better.

It is best to just hold. I have made the mistake of panic selling and buying. Just relax and hold and it will go up overtime. I remind my self daily to stop panicking and just hold.

I think it's better to save and wait when the price will stop dropping, because according to the history of the time the price dropping untill the owner of bitcoin until despair with the situation also the end of the price recovered again with significant value, so just relax because bitcoin is not stuff that can expire

I would try to guess the local minimum and buy more (if you have some spare funds to invest). This is also called "buy@dip" (see upper posts).
Doing this will 'dissolve' your purchase price.

Same with initial buying — do not spend the whole amount at one time.

Ex. you have 4000 to invest. First, you buy 0.5 BTC for $4000, spent $2000. Then, price drops to $3000, and you buy 0.5 BTC more. Now it is identical to buying 1 BTC for 3500. Now if BTC drops to 2700, you would lose $700, not $1200.

Of course, if BTC price raises to 5000, you would have to buy 0.5 for 5000, and the total purchase price would be 4500. However, an unrealized gain is always better than a realized loss, keep that in mind.

I turn off notifications and go to sleep or enjoy my day. Over the years I've learned that it's better NOT to do anything at all if things go down because in the end they come back up. Sure, this doesn't work for shitcoins but if you have your money into proven coins, it's always best to just wait.

I think the best thing to do when prices keep dropping is to hold on to our bitcoins and not sell them. We should wait for the prices to go up to be able to do so. Patience is a virtue, waiting is always the best option, specially if you're not in a hurry to sell your coins and gain profit from it.

When price is droping you need to identified it. Is it just whale try to make a panic sell or is it whale want to exit their position. There is two kind of dropping price. But if you think that the fundamental of the coin is strong you dont need to worry. In crypto world some times you can up 100% in one day and down 100% in a day.

Identification of the drop is more important and then make decision.

Keep calm down dont worry about that. If you know that the bitcoin price was dropping you should know or should move so that you are not alarming about that we know that currency are not fixed its fluctuating and other country are dropping there investment like china and other countrys so that bitcoin price was going down.

I believe the bitcoin price will go up to 5000$ soon. Price for other valuable altcoins will rise up accordingly. So I sold my cars and invested to the cryptocurrency.

Just hold your coin and wait for the pump of its value and i think you know the consequences of investing in crypto currency there is a tendency to fluctuates its value and you should know the risk of your investment. Hold what you have and buy if you have spare money. Usually when prices drop there is no other way but to go up. You just need a lot of patience and confidence in what you have. I hoarded XMR when the price was low af and after a few months boom profit on trade.

it is just due to one of the exchange which has stopped the exchange of bitcoin upto 30th sep and i think it is just for a short time and and indirectly it have given a very good chance to the investors to invest in it. the price was good then to invest and now it have recovered to previous value. now it is back on track and hope it will soon upto the the $5000 track.

However if the price was dropping you have to find indicators and find out why was dropping I think you can make it successful Choice out what to do next. But first you're going to need a situation where that actually happening and right now I don't think we're going to see that for a while.

Depends on the coin. If it is dropping because there is no more development then you should dump it fast! If it's just a dip due to FUD then hodl and wait for the storm to clear. Good coins will always rise up eventually

i myself have previously suggested this before (to remain patient and hold), but this happens to me now, i bought a dash at the price of 0.082 btc a few days ago and currently dash price is at the price of 0.075 btc, i bought quite a lot and although my heart said to keep patience and hold but FEAR must be there for every trader, seeing slow movement and tends to decrease on the coins that i hold, the questions is how to overcome fear?

Set up a sell order and leave it there. Its only been a few days so it probably will still go up. Dash has been there for quir some time so same woth btc, you have to trust the coin that you've invested on. Never sell at a loss

I would look back its chart and see how it was performing before. Look for any news why is the price dropping and acting according to that. If you have week hand with no reason you can loose a lots of money quickly. I am pretty sure many of us had this mistake before. I would not act before did a good research first. ;)

It is better to be patient and calm to behave reactionary. Panicking will kill your money even further more. And you sell out to fiat in good exit point. This is the rule people use.

Because there's a possibility that on the following days or month it will recovered and raised up again. Definetly i will try to know what is the reason for the dropping by searching the news, since the dropping is caused by closing Chinese exchanges, so I sold the coins on these exchanges.

Maybe the system will be similar to martingale. when the price goes down you can buy again and again. but of course this way will be very risky especially if the price does not go up and continue to decline. surely you have limited capital and limited patience right? so if you do not want a big risk and the price continues to fall would be better if you do cutloss #IMO

when prices are dropping , i usually buy it but sometimes i dont have the money to buy it so i usually wait again for another chance to come. i dont buy altcoins if their value is low or dumped because i dont do trading because i find it hard as a beginer  and its verry risky to do so id rather invest on bitcoins.

If I see a price dropping and dropping, I try to buy all the blood down to get a better entry! Or I just buy a new coin while a bloody momentum to make some fat profit!

You only have to do is to wait to rise again the price because it is varying, means it when it decreases, it has a chance that it may increase again a multiple times. So, you just have to wait for the time it is increasing. You just have to be updated if possible to not lose the chances of increasing price.

I would suggest to hold if you see that the price is keep falling, it is very difficult to predict when it will recover. Some people make a lot of profit from such moment, because they are buying and after recovery they sell, but i think it is very risky to do so :)
