Whats your take on celebrity endorsements with the crypto world? Do you think it actually helps? Question is how many fans actually know and care about crypto to actually invest??

That would be great idea actually. Celeb might just publish everything on their concert or even in the film. People and fans will follow these coins at least out of curiosity and some will follow seriously. This could kick start the project and they should launch a movie with the funds that they will raise. As we know every move gets hit and people will watch it because they will have invested money in it.  This could be really best thing to do if these actors or celeb agrees on that and try to launch it. But there must be proper protocol they should follow so that they won't end up creating the shitty coins. Lol.

It's already been tried.

Max Keiser made his own coin, Maxcoin. If you look at teh chart, it got pumped like crazy to 0.00428743 btc on Feb 15th 2014, when all his fans bought it, believing this was the next best thing, because he told them it was. And it's now 0.00000346 btc

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/maxcoin/

This is the chief danger of celeb endorsements - it pulls in innocent people who don't know what they're doing. If the celeb is just telling them to buy a bottle of perfume or some clothes, that's one thing - but telling them to invest all their savings into something that has no future is downright evil.

I don't approve of this, coins will just become P&D, like MAXCoin did.
I'd take advise from someone smarter than Floyd Mayweather, like say, an investor with high profit in his history.

Also, can't believe someone is advertising YoBit.

I don't mind, I would just like the celebrities to get involved into proved coins, legit, fair, decentralized, not in new shitcoins.

kinda funny, this.

think about it.. actors are paid to lie. the better that they can lie (regurgitate whats in the script) the better they can sell that lie. even win awards for that talent.

and some of their real world views are the funniest, most uneducated views there are.

i dont think i would rely too much on most actors tech skills in this space.

That just waste the money as long as the celebrity endorsement take a lot of money. There is no a lot of the impact caused by the celebrity endorsement. As you can see the centra didn't get a significant impact.

But it also signifies a dedicated or influencing person/community is behind the cryptocurrency.

It is just like television advertisement where products are endorsed by celebrities. It is nothing new. They are just advertising the product and some of them would not be even knowing the core project as it isn't really easy to understand the project deeply for non tech people. Some might fall for these. But I think nobody really cares about the face advertising the coin when it comes to investment. For investing one need to look at the project and the potential.

we should pay attention on things like this.
Celebrity are just there to make some noise and they are paid just to grab peoples attention to buy those shit coin. A real ico has their own unique value and they don't need this shitty endorsement just to make some noise about it. everybody says the more celebrity involved the more you need to stay away.

i see it will bring some attention but people are wiser now especially those who already involved with crypto currency they will look for the benefits
not just because somebody who's popular did advertise but without any project that will developed along the road its just nothing and another PnD

We don't really know if they invest or not, they just advertise in part of any altcoin for some endorsements . I think it really helps both the crypto economy and the altcoin ico that they're endorsing.

Celebrity endorsement helps cryptocurrency to get participants strong base and many people follow celebrities but it doesn't gives a proof that the cryptocurrency would be a success. Hiring a celebrity in ICOs promotion definately helps the cryotpcurrency achieveing their targets early.

Title: Re: Celebrity Endorsed Cryptocurrency
Post by: VanDeinsberg12 on September 23, 2017, 02:34:44 PM
Just see their social account, most their fans are talking nonsense rather than talking about what they were endorsed. even advertisement is everywhere, seeing from this aspect, not really an effective way to advertise but just making the product looks popular to attract investor in ICO.
from my point of view, just wasting big amount of money to useless method of advertisement.

Post by: Filmmmakerr on September 23, 2017, 09:30:43 PM
I agree with all the comments. I also believe the ICO can use that money for a better use, but at the end of the day it also brings in a lot of investors, innocent un-aware investors that just wanna make some money out of the ICO. They can't be real holders because they don't know what they're doing, unless they do research which most people don't do anyway. So far no coin endorsed by a Celeb has gotten anywhere big, I hear Mayweather is a new ambassador of centra, lets see how they do with that.

For me as a company they are taking the next step to advertise their coins.

Also some of this celebrities will try to research about the company since they will put their name on the coin. As much as possible they would like to avoid companies or coins that could scam of course they would not like that under their name.

You may also see some coins that are advertised by successful and respected CEO's.

It's not a guarantee that the coins that being advertised will be successful but at least it will reach more people.

Celebrity endorsed crypto-currency has a big impact with regards of buyers. Potential buyers might risk more of their investments because they might think the success of the crypto-currency has a high chance shot value. Also maybe the endorser stake a high investments in that coin so people might think that, that coin is trustworthy.

Celebs are one of the best people to advertise bitcoin for promotion. If one celebtrity promotes it,  it will become famous suddenly because poeple admiring this celebs will be curious about it.  These are reasons why products use celebs for advertisements.

Seems like it would be a careful balance... Especially if the celeb has no idea what's going on and just wants to make $$$. Think of all the shi*t ICOs that would shell out a bit to create a bunch of hype for their coin. In all honesty I'd probably look into the coin that they're promoting if I like the celeb, but unless it was really good, I couldn't see myself using that as an avenue to find good coins. I'd use it as an avenue to find coins that have a lot of capital, but other than that... I can't think of anything. Plus it would have to be on some sort of platform, like ARK. They've got a product that I can imagine a techy celeb endorsing, but it'd still be the project that would win me over.

I guess in general it would be helpful. What this economy needs to stabilize is more people involved, so having celebrities promote it would get rid of some of the stigma that comes with being in this world. I'll be on the lookout for any celebs promoting coins, thanks.

That goes for all the celebrities, lol. I can guarantee that they all dump right after ICO to make that quick cash. I don't think Mayweather is still holding his Stox, he sold them the night of his fight when it reached $2.70 and made millions. Smart move actually since its 40 cents now, but I see the same trend towards any of these celebrity endorsed coins. Cobin Hood does look interesting though, a no fee exchange almost sounds to good to be true.

Because we dont know if they use crypto world or bitcoin using for the advertisement so thats a big help for us also to earn coins so we hope that crypto currency was increasing.

First, it's a sign that ICOs are raising too much money. Having celebrities like Mayweather promote your coin can't be cheap, so if companies are able to afford this, they've raised MUCH more than they need to actually launch their business.

It'll also catch the attention of regulators and put more pressure on them to regulate the market.

It actually helps on spreading the awareness of crpytocurrency existence on which we do know those celebrities are famous and been known by lots of people which if they would able to endorsed some coins then for sure people will surely jump in with the trend which is also an advantage for those early investors who did able to put money on the project because we do know it would be already a success since the popularity is really high compared to those coins who arent endorsed by a famous celebrity.I dont know actually on its true usage because most of this coins are on hype side. Centra would be a good real life usage as far as i can see.

If there will be a celebrity endorsing the crypto-currency, I prefer a well-respected celebrity to endorse the digital currency. It is a good help for crypto-currency to improve the image. A big NO for celebrities with a tax evasion record. Despite the fact that any kind of publicity good or bad still a publicity. Still a big NO for celebrities with tax evasion record, if ever they will endorse the crypto-currency.

Celebrities backing new coins is certainly a great way of gaining huge traction. However, it's better for the industry to see more endorsements done by celebrities who are at least somewhat related to the products they are advertising.

This was not the case with Paris Hilton and Lydian Coin. It looked totally artificial.
On Sept. 3, Paris Hilton made a posting on her Instagram to her over 7 million followers saying she was "eager to join the new @LydianCoinLtd Token," noting in a hashtag: #ThisIsNotAnAd.
The statement, made by someone widely known, helped leverage the marketing of the initial crypto-currency offering (ICO) planned by Singapore-based LydianCoin Pte for a $ 100 million sale through not programmed.

Having a celebrity endorsing a product might be an effective way to get the ICO popular. It can be the strategy of the project to get lnown, or it was just something about the project that can be somehow related to her. It depends anyway.

In a matter of a year every celebrity will be backing a new ICO. Why wouldn't they when they can make millions to hundreds of thousands. I'd have to agree that it does turn me off from the project a bit. Instead of someone like Hilton or Wayweather promoting a coin Id much rather listen to someone like John Mcafee because he's actually got some brains, these celebs are pretty much idiots, Mayweather can't read and Hilton can't even solve a basic math equation.

I'm not sure what to think about Centra using celebrity endorsement. They must be really expensive and 99% of people it will reach probably don't own any crypto and would have no use for the card.

I'm sure it's great for branding and awareness, but I can't imagine it'll have a good ROI. I guess this is a sign ICOs are raising too much money and they have to figure out ways to spend it.

Ashton Kutcher is actually a very bright and tech savvy guy, so I believe he'd understand any crypto product he endorsed. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a good product if he's just doing it to get paid, but he's someone I'd trust to at least understand what he's promoting.

Centra: Floyd Mayweather, DJ Khaled
Cobin Hood: Jamie Foxx.
The Game (Rapper): Paragon
Max Keiser: Maxcoin
Paris Hilton: Lydian Coin

Whats your take on celebrity endorsements with the crypto world? Do you think it actually helps? Question is how many fans actually know and care about crypto to actually invest??
well by hiring the public figure of course will increase the crowdsale to reach the maximum point but keep in mind that it is not a guarantee that the coin will rise high after the release on the exchange, too risky.

I'm sure both Paris and Mayweather can talk us through the wonders of blockchain technology between two shots of vodka.

we should pay attention on things like this.
Celebrity are just there to make some noise and they are paid just to grab peoples attention to buy those shit coin. A real ico has their own unique value and they don't need this shitty endorsement just to make some noise about it. everybody says the more celebrity involved the more you need to stay away.
You really do have a point there. A very prospectus project will not need much noise or huge marketing stunts as the project will most definitely speak for itself. However, it is not bad for someone who has some free cash to throw around (some might call it investors cash) but as long as the cash can help make some impact, then why not. We cannot rule out the fact that even every good project needs good marketing and how each person wants to go about it is fine.

It is great to see celebrity promote the alt coin, but do they really invested in the coin or just promoting? if the celebrity also invest in the coin then it will be great for the coin, maybe it can help to increase that coin reputation and can make the fans to join to buy the coin
This is quite interesting topic and especially you said the celebs should invest in the altcoin that they are promoting. If it doesn't happen then the altcoin will be just like any other product brand they are involved in its promotion, where they after sometime switch to another brand.
Everything has pros and cons, at the same time the celebs promotion has it's disadvantages along with it's advantages as well. For example the celebrities can ask for a real huge profit share which may cut down the profit margin of the general public.

It's not a bad idea using celebrity to market crypto,  but using a celebrity with at least some crypto knowledge will help the coin in question,  it should be all about using any how celebrity.

Don't forget Ashton Kutcher who regularly talks about cryptos on twitter https://twitter.com/aplusk
Render token last time

Ashton Kutcher is actually a very bright and tech savvy guy, so I believe he'd understand any crypto product he endorsed. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a good product if he's just doing it to get paid, but he's someone I'd trust to at least understand what he's promoting.
yes but I don't understand why the crypto medias never talks about him  ???

Endorsements are meaningless to me. Even if the biggest names in cryptocurrency endorse something now, it does not seem to do anything to help the long term price and value. The only benefit to me is the marketing pull. A lot of ICO participants. A lot of crazy buying. But no real contribution to actual, project value. The result? Coins that become worthless as soon as the endorsers abandon it after making profit.

I think spreading the overall concept of cryptocurrencies is great, sadly they are not doing that and are only getting cash for pinning themselves to a specific cryptocurrency.

Let's be honest Paris Hilton and Mr Mayweather probably couldn't spell cryptocurrency never mind explain how they work or the technology behind them. For that reason I keep well away from those sponsored cryptocurrencies just because they have just thrown some cash at celebs.

Also i don't know if you know but Paris supporting a cryptocurrency where the CEO is getting dragged through the courts for sexual harassment and assault stinks of celebs just trying to make some more cash rather than supporting a good project.

not just because somebody who's popular did advertise but without any project that will developed along the road its just nothing and another PnD
project.
Sure, at this stage people have so much wisened up and they cant be bamboozled or deceived by any publicity stunts. Apparently it will draw attention which is good, but without a good prospectful project, plans for the future and solid devs with good development, there is no where a coin will get to this days. I only always pity the gullible investors at the long run cause they are always the ones who ends up taking the fall.

I think it's a double sided coin (get it? hahahahhahaa)

I think the positives are that cryptocurrencies are getting out to a wider audience, and therefore the concept of them will become stronger.

On the other hand, it is very clear that these celebrities are only connecting themselves with these specific cryptocurrencies because of the cash they are recieving and nothing else. I doubt that many of them can spell cryptocurrency or name 5 cryptocurrencies never mind understanding the concept of blockchain technology.

So on that front it is a little bad.

This might work for people who have not yet know about crypto currency. It is like going conventional but for better. I guess it's not a bad idea at all. Something to consider, to make it believable try to have tech celebrities. Why them? People that are famous with some knowledge in tech will easily be trusted by common people. They then can influence their loyal followers about this crypto. Then their follower will likely influenced their peers. Social media celebrities can also be someone we can consider. Again, choose the one with tech background so people will likely believe with their content. Then afterwards, slowly move to different industry. Do it sowly but steady.

Endorsing altcoins by celebrity is a big help to promote the upcoming altcoins. It will help the ICO to be successful. That was the role of celebrity to influence other people to invest in the ICO. People idolized celebrities for being good advocate, role model, good leader and etc. I believe in celebrities to continue and endorse crypto  to become more famous then people would invest in the ICO.

I think its really good to see celebrities endorsed cryptos because they are very influential and we know that they have a huge amount of followers. I simply tweet will put notice those coins that they are supporting. Celebrities like Paris Hilton and Floyd will probably bring enough hype to that coins resulting in investors buying it and the project successful raising the funds needed to continue it.

The question everyone has to ask is, does getting the name of token or product out to people who know nothing about crypto help the token?
For the most part a celebrity does not help the crypto community itself but brings awareness to people that know nothing about crypto.

So now we look at the token itself, lets look at Cobinhood, a exchange that charges 0 fees.  Someone who knows nothing about crypto who sees Jamie Foxx, and then looks at cobinhood will still not invest in cobinhood because there is a steep learning curve first to get into crypto itself.  Jamie Foxx will do nothing for the crypto because cobinhood is not something for the mainstream audience.

Now lets look at Centra, a debit card that can be loaded with crypto and used at any brick and mortar store.  Essentially its like a loadable gift card, similar to how a Visa gift card is used.  So when teenagers see Floyd or DJ Khaled using the debit card they may want one.  The teenager that knows nothing about crypto may actually want one.  Of course this doesn't help them get a card and I'm sure if they don't know about crypto its very very unlikely the celebrity will push them into crypto itself, But if they have a friend or family already in crypto the celebrity will increase the chances that the teenager will go to that person and ask for one.  Also who wouldn't want a crypto gift card that has a potential to increase its value.

So how I see it is celebrities will help any token that has a appeal to mass market audience.  For example Etherparty / Blockcat would be a great token to have celebrity endorse (both do not currently use celebrities)  Enabling the non-crypto people to be able to use smart contracts on a daily basis is something great for the mass market audience and seeing a celebrity setting up escrow, setting up bets and wages between family members, use smart contract to buy a used car, etc.  I think would go along way to get it adopted.

Paris Hilton? Lol. I think you need to add UnikoinGold to that list because that's backed by Mark Cuban and Ashton Kutcher. And knowing both of those guys, it's going to go great. Also, I read that the co-founder of Ethereum Anthony Di Lorio is an advisor/investor. It's an ERC20 token for their esports betting platform called Unikrn. Really cool concept and a growing market.

This is probably the most promising one on that list other than Floyd's.

You always have to look at their investment portfolio. Ashton alone is killin it with Uber

Already found some projects that way to promote with celebrities. I think it's a great way to make the project a success. Although the funds in the output should be more but if the project was successful then there is nothing wrong. But back again to the investors themselves if the project is interesting but not using the endorse in my opinion is enough

I don't see the value in it , why would i need Mayweather to promote a coin to me, the guy probably doesn't even understand a bit of it.
It is now being marketed to the ''average'' people clearly.

Not a very good development i think.

You'd be surprised how many fanatics are out there. And I think this kind of endorsement from celebrities are actually a great way of advertising their coins too. Of course these celebrities don't care about the project they are endorsing in but the fans are willing to spend much for their idols, so it is really a great marketing strategy to endorse celebrities.

It probably helps in bringing the word out to non-crypto people. However, this celebrity endorsement thing in any sector is incredibly annoying. It's no different in crypto as it is in razors, beers or cars.

Must be a reason people keep paying them to do it though

But they will be seeing it as strange act has done by the celebrity because we are know that a lot of the people were unfamiliar with the crypto called it as another fraud or scam.
The celebrity just shilling the coin which it can be determined as useless act.

My take on this would be positive. Because i have seen a lot of fans of famous people do various stupid things just to be like their idols. And even if some of them are not that obsessed, seeing their idol talk about a certain coin. Curiosity will kick in and will probably crawl bit by bit into their heads at night. Which then may lead into them doing their own way of research about a certain coin to find out what the fuss is all about. Then probably jump in, then spread the word and so on.

How much are they getting paid for posting those images? last night i was thinking about that.. It is not easy to convince floyd mayweather to post an image talking about cryptocurrencies, and obviously, an ICO. But how many thousands are they paying him in order to do it? more than $100k i guess, how much do you think guys?
And Paris Hilton, lol.. Obviously that a lot of people are being convinced to participate in those icos after saying this kind of advertising.

Just because something is celebrity endorsed, doesn't mean it is any good as a product.

For example Floyd Mayweather is endorsing many coins but i doubt he actually knows what they are all about. He just gets paid for a simple shoutout on twitter(which he may not even write himself) and gets paid for it.

Now i actually think that having a celebrity promote your coin means that you have no other way of gaining adopters. If you look at most successful coins, they have not been as a result of a celebrity endorsement.

Look at these celebrities. Do they know a thing or two about the crypto projects that they are promoting? I seriously doubt it. If it is endorsed by Satoshi, that would be another story but if these celebrities are the ones doing the promotion, it won't count anything to me. Paris, Mayweather? Who are these, after all?

I agree adverts like this will make crypto world famous and most of their fans will want to find out what they could have been missing that is unknown to them. But it is bad if anyone would because of this, join a project or contribute to an ICO with the thought that since it is endorsed by a celebrity, then it is most definitely a good project.

I personally do not consider celebrity endorsement as a means for me to trust or believe in a project, in fact, that is when I even get more curious. The crucial thing is to dig deeper on the project and see if it is worth investing in or not.

It's good for the celebs as they are running to the bank with fiat currency, but i would never invest into a ICO on the sole fact that a celeb has said "they like a coin"
It doesn't mean much for a celeb to get featured on the coin unless that celeb is contributing something other than money into the project.

Of course they don't even have a clue as to what crypto currency is. LOL. They are just hired to promote because they have a loyal fan based. So it will have a positive effect on the coins that they are promoting. Those fans will do anything for their idol like Floyd and Paris Hilton. If those two said in their twitter to buy the coins they are promoting, are sure those dumbnuts will get it without blinking eye. That's how influential they are. So its gonna be a win-win for both the celebrity endorser and the coins itself.

I think most of these stars are just getting paid for that.
It's all about marketing.
Take a look at all this ICOs..it seems that you "must" have some kind of big star working for you to get some attention.
And its not only about stars from the show business but also big names from other buisnesses.
For instance there is a new project going on for a crypto decentralised bank..change is the name of the project..
and they have the ex CEO from DHL as advisor.
I don't see a big connection with managing a big company for shipping and a crypto bank..but hey he is still the ex CEO of a worldwide
known business. ::)
Let's just be honest..most of these people are just getting payed to sponsor this projects.

Let's be honest, the only reason why these celebs are getting involved is the big paycheck they are receiving, so it could end badly if people choose to get involved just because they like the celeb endorsing a cryptocurrency.

It is good in the aspect that more people will learn about the topic and hopefully research past Luis Suarez liking it.

I have mixed emotions about celebrity ICO endorsements. On the one hand, I like that it brings increased awareness of cryptocurrencies to the masses. On the other hand, I suspect that most celeb endorsed crypto (witness that scamcoin Paris Hilton recently tweeted about only to have to delete the tweet later when the scammy nature of the coin emerged) is for low-quality offerings and outright scams. If the masses' first taste of crypto is getting screwed on some celeb-backed P&D, that's bad for the overall market.

Still, I think the potential exists for a happy middle ground.

First, the celebrity endorsement needs to come from someone with relevance to financial markets, not an athlete or reality TV star.

Second, the coin needs to be fully vetted and legit.

This would be something like Mad Money's Jim Cramer endorsing something like Iconomi or TaaS or some other legit finance related coin.

I'm torn about this.  On one hand, it's great because it has provided exposure to the entire industry. On the other hand, it's obvious that the celebrities are purely doing this for influencer marketing compensation and do not have any long-term plans with the company they are promoting.

I think that as crypto becomes more mainstream more celebrities will actually understand it.
A celebrity with alignment to the industry that is being disrupted or where there can base is the audience makes more sense than just a name.
Ultimately investors need to decide whether there is value to be added or it's just a gimmick.
Its early days still and we're going to see a lot more of this.

The fact that this is all just for publicity, ICOs are using celebrities to make their token more attractive to more investors, the famous the endorcer the higher the trust the token can get. Without knowing that endorcers are just for hypes but after the hypes sudside the token will be less valuable than what's expected.

Yes. LOL. You should not base your judgment on whether an ICO is going to be successful on support of these celebrities. Most of them are paid, and probably most of the owners of the project are just connected to him or any other celebrity as well. It is important for you to do your own research and see how well the project seems.  You do not know how many of the token of that project he has been offered to do the ad.

I really don't think that the owners of these ICO's are connected in any way to these celebrities, it's just another form of advertising.
Notice how most of this advertising is done through Instagram? There are advertising bureaus dedicated to brokering deals between advertisers and these high profile Instagram stars.

Celebrities like Paris Hilton and Mayweather are just cashing in on that too, they're also very popular on social media. Anyone can buy a post from them as long as you've got the money.

Whats your take on celebrity endorsements with the crypto world? Do you think it actually helps? Question is how many fans actually know and care about crypto to actually invest??
Are these celebrities aware of what they are doing? Maybe they just want to earn huge amount of money from the project they are promoting. Devs maybe paying celebrities just to make sure they are going to lure more investors. It maybe effective but I don't think if those projects are something  that can be trusted or legit. Celebrities might be victims here too I think some of them are innocent I mean not a crypto fun but because of money they did it. But just to be fair, endorsement done by celebrities are qiet good in this industry due to the huge volume of investors, traders and enthusiasts all over the world that could possibly see such advertisements.

I do not think Celebrity Endorsed Cryptocurrency is so good, because the cost of paying them must be expensive, and also not necessarily effective, such as the stox in endorse floyd mayweather, the price of the coin is now very falling from the initial release price

Yeah I agree, I think you really have to question the motive of a company using a celebrity to endorse an ICO - it's to pump as much coin as possible into the sale. The fundamentals of the product and team is something that be enough of an endorsement itself to go alongside regular marketing (if the project is actually quality).

I think there's a high chance that a celebrity endorsed coin might backfired or turn a turn for the worse unless that celebrity has long dabbled with crypto publicly as well. Else the celebrity is also trying to cash in for the short period of time too (nothing wrong with that technically).

Viberate seems to be a good project though and looking at the fact that the project has to do with entertainment, I am not surprised it they have some celebrities on their side or if they have few endorsed as this would really help the project a lot. It is a project I am really watching out for and I want to believe it is going to be big.

let me add +1 to this :)

I guess you are right as this might be a another way of marketing, celebrities never involve in any aspect without money. Well they always want to be in a comfort zone in the very first they will addict their fans on a similar coin and make it popular. Guys trust the project rather than trusting these fellow celebrities.

Advertising projects that are held today by very famous people in any case will enjoy serious success, but it very often happens that projects ultimately become scam projects that advertise celebrities and this is very bad for their reputation.

This is the first goal of each project, especially the ICO project. They will prefer some famous people like celebrities to promote their projects rather than providing capital to developers for the needs of the project. Usually every investor or new user will be more interested if someone who promotes the product has a high popularity, they will think the project has issued a large capital to make a project and it will look like they really intend to make a token or coin.

Please don't waste your time on those coins. Don't even think of investing on those coins. Those are some shitty coins that has been made with no potential usage. They are either clone of some other coins or are just plain crap. You are better off investing on some real crypto currencies that has some actual usage with huge potential. Not only will you be saving yourself from losses but also be supporting those coins along with making huge profits.

We have always seen celebrities including the likes of 50 cent openly showing their support for cryptocurrency. I believe this is all very good as we continue to push for greater mass adoption of cryptocurrency across the globe.

As a rule, celebrities do something for which they are paid or for which they will be able to get more fame. You are probably familiar with several instances of celebrity advertising scam ICO. As a rule, not all of them are well versed in the issue of cryptocurrency and blockchain.

I wonder what happen to the case of DJ Khaled and FMW in Centra. But no wonder if they get out of it because of the stacks they have. one thing after this I learned that at the end of the day they are just endorsers that sometimes don't know much of the team and the project capability itself so for us investors and believers we should not be blinded by the endorsement no matter how fanatic you are of them.

There are many celebrities nowadays which is endorsing cryptocurrency. Even other celebrities have their own cryptocurrency company. Here in Philippines we have our boxing champ, manny pacquiao who is also have his own cryptocurrency. I just hope that all the celebrities who endorse really believe in cryptocurrency rather than just to earn for the endorsement.

Remember that celebrities function as sponsors, it may be that a certain brand or celebrity sponsor another brand or try to help, but remember that they pay them for that, so that takes away a little honesty with the monetary exchange, of course also many personalities do not like to be linked to bad brands, so it can be a comfort to decide which cryptos to support.

Celebrity endorsement helps cryptocurrency to get participants strong base and many people follow celebrities but it doesn't gives a proof that the cryptocurrency would be a success. Hiring a celebrity in ICOs promotion definately helps the cryotpcurrency achieveing their targets early.
Yes, I agree with your opinion on this topic. Cryptocurrency is growing rapidly as per the time and user has started to make the use of it. But celebrity endorsement is a great strategy to spread the importance of the cryptocurrency towards the people. If celebrity promoting the ICO's then definitely it will make a great impact on people.

Perhaps they just want to keep up with the times, and show everyone that they also understand the cryptocurrency . Now it is possible to be advanced. If some cryptos endorsed the celebrity to promote their coins or tokens I believe that they spend much money. And it may prove that they are real, not scams. But we must not only pay attention or determine that they are good or not only based on that endorsement. We must also analyze the projects and ideas behind. So we can expect that the projects will be successful or not in the future.

okay given the fact that they have money to pay those celebrities, but yeah you need to see the underlying factors within the system. do they really have solid foundation to exist here in crypto? or they are just hyping up the project to attract big whales to invest in their project? or they are just riding the bandwagon of creating their own coin but doesnt really know the technicalities behind it? you will see if they are real endorsers because they will be there all throughout its development but if its not, they are just for the show!

Lol.

When celebrities endorse a coin it will surely have a good head start.  Especially if the endorser is very well know. Many follower will surely invest also. But in the long term. It depends on the output of the team to ensure that they hold on to their investors and never cause investors to leave.

I don't approve of this, coins will just become P&D, like MAXCoin did.
I'd take advise from someone smarter than Floyd Mayweather, like say, an investor with high profit in his history.

Also, can't believe someone is advertising YoBit.

I somehow agree. As much as people know that they are endorsed by celebrities, it is really just the celebrities' money that is movig here and their name. Although it can help no doubt, I think what would give a bigger impact is if people will see that celebrities really having knowledge about the cryptocurrency market and marketing a coin with deep and technical knowledge. At least, that way, it is more believable.

Yeah, in my opinion, endorsement by celebrities about crypto currencies does not have a strong influence on the world of crypto currencies. The number of celebrities who do endorsement does not have a significant change. In the world of crypto currencies, players do not care whether the coin is supported by celebrities or not. According to them, including me, this endorsement or not will not change the market conditions. Coins endorsed by celebrities will not mean if the coin does not have a real benefit. Crypto currency players are more concerned with benefits that can be felt and interesting innovations than just endorsed by famous artists or celebrities. In addition, celebrities who endorsement certain crypto currencies are not safe because their names can be easily used for fraud. I am sure that this fraud will occur a lot on behalf of famous celebrities. That is a bit of my thinking.

Endorsement it good and it gives credibility to projects and sometimes, it helps to attract investors. Although, this sometimes might depend of who actually is endorsing it. For instance some people might get endorsement from a celebrity that has lots of fans, do that the fans and those who are close to those fans can be attracted to such project in order to invest into it.

think about it.. actors are paid to lie. the better that they can lie (regurgitate whats in the script) the better they can sell that lie. even win awards for that talent.

and some of their real world views are the funniest, most uneducated views there are.

i dont think i would rely too much on most actors tech skills in this space.

I really don't trust these celebrity endorsements really simply because they can actually prey on gullible masses or their gullible supporters and take their money with the investments. I think the best part of celebrity endorsements though is that if the developers are sincere in their quest to get the best with their investors then that would be no problem for us to deal with them.

I think celebrities can play an important role in rising awareness of cryptocurrencies.  Some of the singers
are tokenizing their businesses and that way it will be the best advertising if they are participating in crypto themselves.

Stox: Floyd Mayweather, Luis Suarez, Liang Tian
Centra: Floyd Mayweather, DJ Khaled
Cobin Hood: Jamie Foxx.
The Game (Rapper): Paragon
Max Keiser: Maxcoin
Paris Hilton: Lydian Coin

Whats your take on celebrity endorsements with the crypto world? Do you think it actually helps? Question is how many fans actually know and care about crypto to actually invest??

Why there is no McAfee on your list ?  ;D
I think it will be good if you not blindly buying the coins suggested by the celebrities out there.
They are not crypto experts. Unless they know the project is really have potential, i think im not gonna buying the coin.
Own research and due diligence will help us better to find a good project.

Not anymore guys, these celebrities doesn't know what they are endorsing.

They don't care about the project, they don't care road maps, whitepapers or legitimacy as long as they are paid with hundreds of dollars for just mentioning the project.

I do not think that this will increase the flow of potential or real investors. Rather,it will just help to show that it is worth investing for all people. And this opportunity is amazing

What is special about the fact that celebrities are also interested in cryptocurrency investing? It's totally normal. In addition, the market are all equal, so do not exaggerate their value

It is getting popular that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and DJ Khaled will be paying hundreds of thousands of dollars as penalty for the so called Centra scam. But I also hear that Centra team continues to claim they are not scamming people and will continue to work with it.

I doubt that celebrities somehow contribute to the development of cryptocurrency, because they can afford to lose big money, and therefore can sometimes do not reasonably, unlike ordinary people!

they are brave enough to take part in this crypto world, I think they only focus on the world of action but it turns out they are taking part in this crypto world. this good news but the question in my mind is what part did they take? investment or trade. and my positive opinion that this is good news showing that crypto is increasingly in demand by various parties.

It is good that famous and successful people know cryptocurrency. Success usually runs with money, and cryptocurrency needs advertising and investment. Moreover, cryptocurrency is becoming more and more famous every day, they are interested in it, they invest in it, many corporations release their coins and adopt the blockchain technology. Celebrities will undoubtedly be able to interest even more people and I think will lead investors from the world of art.
