I am surprised this thread has not gotten a lot of replies. This seems to be a well-established project. I just visited your website and it has really good information in there. You have videos regarding The MegaCoin Foundation by Dr. Kimoto Chan as well explanation of what the Megacoin logo symbolizes or its meaning. I hope the new team of developers will get this project to where it should be. It seems like it has been neglected.

it's actually a very interesting old project. A new developer team has just arrived. he's been working on it since October alone.

I think this project has a bright future ahead of it.

Nice to see this old friend. Gravity well if I remember right. Still remember good reputation of the coin and with new team of developers it can return into top 100 I guess. But as it easily foreseen coin must come through redistribution which can be painful. Also there are rather few coins to mine and Well was good implementation for 2013 but in 2017 devs must add some really interesting new features to apply to the public. In fact must admit that with good developers this coin can return. Good luck.

Megacoin has just been taken over by a very good developer team. Look at their work on "Bitcore" and you will see that they have the skills to bring very interesting development to Megacoin.

I'm going to be mining Megacoin, because I want as much MEC's as I can hold for when we reach the MOON!

I was mining at Hash to Pool, but the pool hashrate is very irregular, I guess because many have the auto-switch set up so I'll try this pool from now on.

no Megacoin is not dead. I trust the developers. It was not their priority right now, but I think they have a plan for Megacooin.

I see alot of people are on omegapool, there were a few on aika when i first looked at this coin then suddenly all aikapool mec miners disappeared, what happened?

I have spoken to a few people and was told omegapool you need a few ghs hash, im new so im running at ~15mhs,

Im using aika pool and for this reason my hash is to low for others.
Is there anyone that is coming back to aikapool? If not why did you leave?

i think people left aika pool, because as i know, they have not updated their pool to the new and important megacoin version 0.15 yet.

What happened to the Hash-To-Coins pool?  It's listed on your website, but it's not in the list of pools above.  And transactions listed on H2C don't seem to be showing up in the block explorer (the block heights are mismatched by quite a lot).

hash-to-coins is on the wrong chain, all new coins they generated are useless, because we had a hard fork and this pool will not update. i have deleted the links of the old pools from the website.

It is really strange that no one bothers to update the community on whats going on.

1.Cryptopia have lost a lot of btc.

There were signifcantly more buy orders then 0.2 btc. If you look at the weekly charts the volume was 19,2 btc during the attack. And now with the market closed there is still 2 btc in buy orders after the drop from 343 to 90 satoshi.

my wallet running from 2 hrs not received any coin
i have run cmd generate 1 -1

I also haven't been able to get mining to work so far. When I start mining via the command generate 14 -1 the QT Wallet uses 1 Thread but that's it. Unfortunately from that moment the debug console doesn't react to other commands anymore. Also I haven't found any command to stop mining.

I also had the problem, that I didn't have an address and also couldn't create one via the GUI. I could create one via the debug console with the command getnewaddress label. I had to set the label as the new address didn't show up without one.

This is a new install of MegaCoin on Windows 10 64.

I just got some MEC. So the mining part does work but it seems to be only single threaded.

If the wallet does mining then is nothing more possible.

But what about the part, that the debug console doesn't react to commands anymore and how can I stop mining?

You can only stop if all blocks created or you use "STGR + ALT + ENF".

you can run the daemon.
If you want to use the qt wallet while mining, just clone the blockchain ($HOME/.megacoin ) from qt wallet to a different directory (wallet sould stopped when copy!)
no need to copy the wallet.dat if you use disablewallet in daemon.
run it:

XXX = number of your cpus + 2

choose an address from qt wallet, and start mining to that:


each calls "eat" one rpc threads, so use multiple times (=your cpu count)

you can control the daemon with last two rpc thread. (getnetworkhash, getmininginfo,  stop)

you can start the qt wallet, and watch for your blocks.

Yeah, I have the same problem. Apparently it occurs when you have a Segwit address with 3... and you try to make a transaction. All my transactions are still unconfirmed - in memory pool. The oldest one is from 19.06.2020.

Hey guys, can someone help me please? I have not checked my MEC wallet since last year, now I updated to new version, logged in and no matter what - I cannot get any connection to the megacoin network (always a red sign that says "0 connections". What should I do?

I just transferred some coins and nothing happens since there is no connection established. Any suggestions on maybe which proxy etc I can use?

No, I didn’t send any coins to this address that I posted. Few days ago all of them were still there (at least according to my wallet stats) suddenly out of nowhere they get transferred to this address after I get a connection (which also seems to be a user here that I don’t even know) although I typed in my crex24 address because I wanted them to change to bitcoin there. After it got connected the wallet said that my crex24 transaction is „in conflict“ because of that wrong one that I never authorized - Completely weird! BTW: I never shared my private key to anyone - really strange...

Yeah it's so strange. I'm new in this crypto (less than a week) and it must be scary that coins disappear like this. It could be that your wallet was not encrypted, or somehow leaked to the wrong person... Maybe a security issue.... who knows?.
