Actually nobody knows if he is really holding more than 500k bitcoins, but there are a lot of conspiracies saying that he does, but it is a little bit weird and there is no way to check it to see if it is real or only a conspiracy.
And no, there is no way to know who has the most amount of bitcoin, so this thread is useless, there is no way to check it and see who is the most millionaire in here, lol.
Just imagine, a lot of people would try to hack that poor guy's wallet..

There are some ways to narrow down the list of people who own the largest wallets and there are certainly some wallets that have already been identified, and a few even labelled by their own users. Notably some large sites and exchangers' so-called cold wallets are known.

Keeping your address private is just that. Privacy. Your wallet being visible doesn't actually decrease your security. Otherwise the transparency of the blockchain would be a flaw.

So, don't pity the guys in this list. You can try and hack their wallets all you want.

No one knows on who's the second or the people that has the largest bitcoins on their wallet.


And these are the businesses that are hodling a lot of bitcoin for their services and right now the number 1 is bitfinex and it is just their cold storage, I wonder on how many in total bitcoins they are holding. Well even we know who are those people that holds a lot of bitcoin it will never change the fact that I'm holding a few one.  ;D

What i like about this list is that despite the hash power concentration we still have a very wide dispersion of BTC over several wallets. If big holders have several wallets or not is still to be known. This also confirms that it is very difficult to hold above certain price ups. we are only human. It´s quite unlikely that someone holds a coin from cents to 5k and doesn´t sell.

I would think the FBI wallet that confiscated all those hacked bitcoins from every exchange they caught the hackers of those would have the biggest bitcoin wallet.
They did not earn those bitcoins but took them as evidence.
They even had enough to auction them off in the early days when bitcoin was worth only $1250 from the last time I remember they held one of those auctions to the public.
But now that btc costs as much as they do, I doubt they just are willing to sell them off to the highest bidder.

There is a user who posted that website that contains all the bitcoin holders, wow, i did not expected that there was a site like this one, it is a little bit risky and it exposes all of the holders all over the world.
Anyway, so those who said that there was a wallet of 500k of bitcoins from Satoshi are all wrong, because the wallet who most bitcoin has, only have 140k bitcoins and it is the cold wallet storage from Bitfinex (the most biggest exchange)

I do not believed that there is a site which all the bitcoin wallet was listed because even blockchain can not get the total number of bitcoin wallet due to all users using multiple wallet with huge fund inside.
I do not think also there are system, device or apps can show the biggest amount hold in a wallet who owned by one person.

1 million bitcoins is bit much now. estimated value of that is 5 billion$ just for holding the bitcoin.. what if satoshi nakamoto invest in ethereum and all the top 10 alternative coins today. :) do you think bitcoin will be monopolize as well in the near future just like all banks that control by rosthchild?

I think that he wouldn't even be able to sell all of his bitcoins on any exchange that easily. I mean, there is no suffiecient demand for 1 million bitcoins just like that. Maybe that's why we don't hear about it. He keeps it for the future, when everyone will be using bitcoins or when all of them will be mined, so that there is his last supply to the community.

I guess most common people holding huge amounts of bitcoins are certainly exchanges or maybe traders, and stikl there are no way to check who are those big amount holders, unless someone would claim it actually, but there is no reason also that they would let their identity being exposed, as you look into it, even Satoshi Nakamoto's identity has so many rumors.

Actually I came across an article in which it says we're all trading with only 1 percent of bitcoin and other 99 percent is in hands of few people.
Now that probably isn't fully true but it's still scary.
These few people are anonymous,so they not obliged to anyone.They can all dump it at once and completely destroy bitcoin as far as they're concerned.
We should just hope they truly believe in cryptocurrency idea.

you have a point.. but on this day you buy plenty of things using bitcoin. many countries now accept bitcoins for buying real estates .. so maybe even there is no sufficient demand for 1 million bitcoins. he can use few bitcoins of him to buy real estates or things that he need :) because i myself keep bitcoin and use a little bit as a reward for myself :)

Satoshi doesn't one the wealthiest Bitcoin wallet in the world. I guess some of the exchange wallets will qualify for that honor. Satoshi's coins are deposited in countless smaller wallets and these coins have not seen any movement since they were mined. And that is why some people here claim that Satoshi Nakamoto is no longer alive.

                        You may be having a point on that, but what if it really happened? Did you think that the price of bitcoin will reach like this? Maybe yes but consider it that everything that happens now maybe had a great change or in other words, its not what it is right now, if what iu were saying did actually happened.

Possibly, those people who work along side with satoshi are those who holds large volume of bitcoin. But basically, you wouls not know thw identity of those people. Bitcoin allows someone to hold big funds anonymously, this feature was originally made to make private transaction. There is no way you can find out the people behind you BTC address unless you note it and tried to connect it with someone. Bitcoin users can secure their funds because of this anonymousness feature.

You can search the blockchain for the addresses with the largest balances. But you could easily come up with the addresses that are confirmed millionaires.

It freezed me, but i dont believe that those wallets listed on that site are real, i mean, publishing them all on that site is currently all the opposite of why bitcoin has been created. It is exposing all the bitcoin holders and their current balance, but yes, actualy the biggest holder is Binance and Bitfinex, so i dont think that this is important, because we all know that they are the biggest exchange and most important websites about bitcoin at the moment.

They are business and not people and that wallet is compose of a lot of people that are involve to that wallet address. It's like consolidating their funds and was able to mine and buy before when the price was still low. I'm wishing that I'm one on that list or my wallet is on that but I doubt it will happen soon. Even Satoshi Nakamoto knows that to be protected and not to lost bitcoin in bulk if the wallet they used can be compromised. He might have 50 or less wallet in him. Is it possible? Everything is possible in crypto world.

your answers are on point. but maybe the winklevoss twins is one of the few who hold plenty bitcoins in their bitcoin wallets their the one involved in making the bitcoin approve in the sec of the united state. and they claim before that they own the 1% of bitcoins in the circulation that time. correct me if im wrong. they are investor so they think bitcoin for longterm investments and they know bitcoin is the new technology that can surpass others. they have the resources to have that plenty bitcoin that they are claiming

We can't really tell if who owns the second biggest bitcoin wallet because there is a lot of big people to choose from but if i am allowed to pick for a guess then i will go for Bill Gates, he is the richest man and he already have a video for about a few years ago that he said that bitcoin is unstoppable and i believe that he invested in bitcoin and he is still holding bitcoin for long term and he owns the second biggest wallet because of his capability from his wealth.

That is why a hardware wallet would go long way. Move the coins in many hardware wallets as per preference and then store these wallets in a secure vault. There are many secure vaults available which will store the coins safely.
In my opinion, really smart will prefer anonymity and store the coins in hd wallet and remain low profile. Without bragging about it, like hiding in plain sight. This works more effectively than being hyper secretive.
About the coming out of shadows, it is very dangerous for the person to do so. Because it is put that persons life in grave danger.

I'm still don't know who own it, but whoever they are, that own the largest bitcoin amount in the world must be some company.
It can't be own by one person, because if it's true he/she can manipulate bitcoin globally.

Possible they are one of the major big holders of those wallets that got a lot of bitcoin. 1% of bitcoin in the circulation is a lot of it. They are into long term investments in bitcoin but there's nothing going to change even if we know if they are holding it for real or else we have to work very well so that we can have some bitcoin and let ourselves inspire by those people that got a lot of it.

Yes it's easy to which address has the most amount of bitcoin, but one person can own several address and there is no way to tell if the person owning one address also owns the other address. One can easily cover that up and thus just looking for a address with most bitcoin is not a very effective way to look for the wealthiest man in Bitcoin.

I heard about Satoshis holding 1 million bitcoin few months ago but didn't believe it. I think I was wrong about it. So that rumor was not a rumor. It is true that Satoshi holds that much amount and he is not going to invest in altcoins. As a founder of bitcoin, this move will harm his invention more than we can imagine. People will definitely start doubting BTC plus altcoins are not that worthy. I don't think bitcoin has the same fate as gold is having.

I am not very much sure but it is likely possible that there are only few persons living in this world which are having most of the bitcoins in their wallets. It is because of the reason that the market price of bitcoin is very much high and it is not possible for most of the people to buy bitcoin. This is correct, but at the same time you need to understand, if you bought bitcoin for a few cents and then it was worth 10 dollars then most people will sell at that point, no one thought that bitcoin will reach these levels, I have seen some very old threads where people were happy that bitcoin reached parity with the dollar, and now when you think about it that sound ridiculous but can you imagine how ridiculous are going to sound our conversations when people read our conversations 10 year in the future.

That is very impossible to know. That is the reason why it is an anonymous way of making transactions. No one's name is attached to any public address unless they display it and that is the only way you can even know the amount that has probably gone through it via blocktrail or blockchain which still doesn't guarantee the amount they have.

All the above, except for exchanges and some who bought in early which may have a whole lot, we can't still say specifically even though I have seen some rich list in the past.

One thing you should understand first is I can decide to have more than one wallet and split my funds in them.
So, that does not guarantee that someone might not be holding more than that amount of bitcoin even with what the list showed.

Personally, I might have one of the top 10 wallets shown on that site ;D ... Also, I do not see any risk that poses, since except for some exchanges, I can decide to stay anonymous and no damn person will know the person which each account belongs to.

It is not possible at all to keep the complete record of all wallets at the same place. There are countless wallets used by people and the main problem in maintaining data of wallets is that there are different types of wallets plus one person owns more than one wallet. So on the basis of technical analysis we can never say that this particular wallet is having biggest amount of bitcoin.

Nothings permanent so if the one who's holding the record in the past it will be a history. But I dont think if whos next or what ever. Only I thought is "business is business". You tade you earn, you buy you sell, so on and so fort.

This link shows you the top 100 wallets with the most BTC, but pay attention at one thing, the most rich person, has probably several wallets and a his entire stack is divided in these wallets. The richest one is considered Satoshi (the inventor of Bitcoin) who has probably about a million BTC spread through various wallets. Because people will start to notice, exchanges will be anble to check previous transaction logs. I don't know but it may be possible he paid them a whole lot for that via bitcoin with the value then.

So, your point may be very valid. Correct, there is not much of a point to worry about the amount of money someone else is holding, we must care about the amount of bitcoin in our wallets, and while I still do not have a lot of bitcoin I’m slowly increasing that amount every month, it is going to take me some time to get to my target amount of bitcoins but I know that I will be able to get there in a few years.

I think none of us can afford to hack a bitcoin from someone. Because bitcoin is the most secure currency, you can not steal someone's bitcoin by invading the blockchain system. We can only take advantage of the carelessness of others.

If you don't know what you're talking about, then please don't. The seized SilkRoad coins have been auctioned off a long time ago, and thus they are back in circulation. They may very well hold a certain numbers of coins from other closed platforms or other cases, but these are neglectable in quantity, and will eventually get auctioned off as well. On top of that, the blockchain is transparent till the extent that everyone can browse through it, and thoroughly analyze it and connect addresses to people in some cases -- there isn't such a thing as anonymity.

At the point where all the Bitcoins are released into the market, I'm willing to bet "Satoshi Nakamoto" will be the largest Bitcoin wallet holder.

While satoshi left bitcoin long time ago and he was no in for the money I have no doubt that at some point he has moved on and created other projects and made money that way under another identity, after all, do you think that a genius like satoshi is going to live in a cave for the rest of his life,  of course not, he is out there creating other stuff and making money with his knowledge, or at least that is what I think.

We all know that we can track their address but it is possible to identify them? because one of the reason of Blockchain is being anonymous user. if someone identified the owner then it could put him in danger and could be targeted by some hackers but I bet that they make a security precaution about it.

Nobody knows about the second most BITCOIN HODLer as there is no way to detect it. Being decentralized and Anonymous, nobody can trace the wealth of an person in BTC. I think any of the satoshi's close friend or family member might be holding a great amount of BTC coz satoshi do want them to be rich and financial stable after his departure.

I do suspect the same thing too which NBI do hold up large amounts of bitcoin as of now and for sure they are keeping it and dont expose into public into those holdings since that amounts is already huge considering on the price of a whole bitcoin as of now.I dont even think that satoshi holds up large amount but who knows? and even on second one no one really knows who holds them and whose the one who posses it because of anonymity of bitcoin these kind of questions would really remain unanswered.

I would guess one of the biggest wallets must belong to some exchange. I find it psycologically difficult, although not impossible, to hold the majority of coins past some price increase. almost everybody have some point on the price history where they would sell at least part of the holdings. sO at current prices the major holders are exchanges IMO.

I think the owner of bitcoin would have the biggest wallet that mean Satoshi Nakamoto would have the biggest wallet because he has actually created bitcoin he can easily do it again for him or her self.

Nobody know who is standing at the 1st or 2nd place of number of Bitcoin holders. These guys will never let you know their identity and information cause it's too dangerous for them cause you can public their identity to let all other people know it and then they will be noticed or even killed cause a lot of people wanna steal that big amount of Bitcoin from these guys. That why Satoshi, the founder of Bitcoin always try to keep his identity anonymously :)

I'm just waiting for others to share names but in my opinion we can say that Mr. Satoshi Nkamoto is the top among famous personalities and Japan is the top among countries but we dont have concrete source or even specific details to prove the claim therefore no one can tell who is the second in the ranks that own the big part of the bitcoin inventory.

There are no data can really be proven to create people list with the most bitcoins.

Until now no body knows who own the world biggest bitcoin store in their bitcoin wallet because there is no record of all bitcoin wallets and their respective balances.

You think but there is no concrete evidence that they are holding bitcoin wallet who have huge amount of bitcoin i do not think also that government will hold blockchain system and stock bitcoin also they can get the bitcoin in the wallet of the individual even they found out it was scammer if the owner of wallet do not tell his/her private key.

I also want to know but I think the identity of that second biggest holder of bitcoin is securely hidden just like anybody who has bitcoin on their wallet. This is for safety purposes that is why identities arennot being disclosed to avoid any undesirable events that may happen due to other peoples greed.

It may be own by company or single person so imagine if the richest address want to sell all of their btc, it will affect on bitcoin value globally (mostly downtrend )
But do not worry , they will not sell it until bitcoin reach $ 100.000 which will happen on next 4 year !
