I wonder what this will do to the BitConnect users. Their stated source of income to pay out their large interest fees comes from bot trading... I assumed that was coming from Nova since that's the only external exchange Bitconnect trades on. Be interesting to see what happens to that project.

I do not use Nova Exchange anymore, but they were among the very first exchanges I used in the very beginning since they were easy to open accounts with, did not need verification, and had support for a lot of alts that I could not find anywhere else.
But I am glad to read that this is not just a closure, but a means to pave the way for the new management. Hopefully, this will also include skilled developers and a great support team,,, you know, so we do not worry about wallet failures and 20 days to get a reply from support! From the sources there people said that nova exchange will just be switching owners. In April of 2018 a lot of major changes to "handle better scaling, stability and security". Personally I don't really use them that much, but even if I did I wouldn't worry too much. Just try to get your assets off that exchange for the time being.

Some projects only have their tokens listed on nova and there are many people panic and selling at discount price. It might be the end of the road for nova but not for most of the coins listed there.

They are not Chinese guys, they are from Sweden. Its a bitcoin or crypto friendly country. I think it has nothing to do with the country. Its a business decision I think because it didn't gained enough transaction from our community because others have experienced a lot of connection issues with them, sometimes they will do a maintenance without proper notifications. This sucks because that is always a good go to site when no one else has a coin listed. i guess they had the legal issues or the money was not there, whatever gets them through the night. I am just glad to see that they are doing it the right way and not bailing with the last of the funds. That leaves only three other sites that will always be there with that off the wall coin that you needed on an exchange.

The way I'm readying this means Nova won't be closing for good. So this is temporary. Any thought? They just want the new owners to start on a clean slate, so make sure you remove your funds from the exchange before the specified dates.

I traded a lots of altcoin on that exchange. Nova will be dearly missed because the interface on that exchange is very easy for user. I have not heard of breach of security on their exchange too.
