I remember that on 1st January 2017 , the price of bitcoin is about $1000, but now we can see the price is already over $7000. To be honest, that is why some people said this is bubble since the unbelievable rising of bitcoin. However, let us look back upon the history, we can tell that Email subvert the postal industry, Amazon subvert the retail industry. Furthermore, Will bitcoin subvert the traditional banking?

Above is just my personal idea.If you like or not, I wish everyone here have a nice day.

 

Cars were considered as one of the dangerous invention when it was first invented.

Many used to think that internet is just for computer gigs and not for common people in past.

People used to only shop with paper cash and they used to worry about getting their bank account or credit card hacked and still many people from developing countries think like that.

Bitcoin is still in primitive stage like all of the above invention so people are just afraid of bitcoin or whole crypto thing, but sooner or later crypto will revolutionize the way we make financial transaction and how we send money across the globe.

I like it and find myself agreeing with the lot of it. I never bought into the bitcoin is a bubble thing even since day 1 in the industry. Bitcoin is unlikely anything else we have ever seen before in our lifes and to make a silly

comparison to some dumb tulips if laughable at best. Oh well lets laugh to the bank in agreement I say :D

In my opinion I think Bitcoin can subvert traditional bank, there are a lot of countries afraid about this case so they're trying to find out the solution to prevent this case happen in the future, some countries legalized Bitcoin and their Banks also accept Bitcoin too but almost countries often trying to ban Bitcoin to prevent Bitcoin subvert traditional Bank and my country is not a exception, right after a university in my country announced that they will accept Bitcoin for tuition, the goverment also announced that they will ban Bitcoin in next year and anyone whom still trying to use Bitcoin and cryptocurrency will have to go to jail or pay at least 10k$ for forfeit :(

all would be happy when bitcoin prices rise, especially if you have bitcoin savings in the wallet, the price must be very expensive. on the impact of traditional banking I think it will not interfere except the circulation of money in a country, arguably more and more transactions.

Yeah its just crazy, the price of bitcoin is rising to 7300 now. What a year and what a day so far. I bet it will cross 8000 or even 9000 before the coming fork.

Cryptocurrency and the blockchain technology are undeniable the future, 2017 has illustrated that quite a bit. Before mobile phones were a thing people hated them and claimed they would never use them but here we are in a time where perhaps 75% of the population owns one. Mainstream peeps. Hopefully bitcoin will still have a leading point when that happens to cryptocurrency. With the recent trends ten thousand dollars is a very probable milestone going into 2018. Time will tell if we will hit it.

hardfork factor is a powerful driver for bitcoin whose price can not be controlled in this year. in this month alone will happen hardfork back most likely the price will still be pumped

Bitcoin is almost guaranteed to be in a bubble period right now, I would be surprised if there was nothing that pops the bubble sometime in the future, but you never know. There might be a constant rise and then a small pop later, it might never pop at all, the fact of the matter is, this is insane right now and it's surprising that it has taken this path.

I wouldn't have put money on Bitcoin rocketing up to $7k over the course of just a few days if you asked me two weeks ago,, but I guess I should start putting money down on some of these predictions since they always seem to be right, and my conservative estimates are often wrong.

If not everyone then most people thnk that this is just a bubble waiting to burst any minute but in my opinion this is not a bubble, it took time for bitcoin to develop at the beginning no one seemed to think that bitcoin will be at its price now. No one is certain what will happen in the future it can revert back to traditional banking or it wont but the thing is bitcoin was not intended for traditional banking.

Banking in a traditional way has been long here since an era and we witnessed that old aged people are stuck to these systems and may/will always be.
Bitcoin, being especially used by youth, is now taking over all the age groups and the factors are the market moves that subverted the game of all other assets and dragged all such money into Bitcoins. But I believe that it will be a very long journey and to remove traditional banking or to convert it to something new, Bitcoin needs to stabilize and that will only happen when the value reaches a level where buying it will become very hard and it will become extremely priceless just like Gold.

Some people are doubting that the fork will have a lot of supporters. It is still unclear for now... Every one expect a crash after the fork, this might imply that people are also gonna trade accordingly. Mass psychology is important here! I'm still bullish on BTC even the possible fork cannot stop this train...

2017's growth ratio of bitcoin has been phenomenal. As predicted, the price would reach $8k in two days. A massive growth in short span. The last 7 days have been the green days for bitcoins. Almost $1550 have increased in just a week. Good go bitcoin and its team.

I really think it is just imagine how many hard forks has it been through before year ends and it grew a lot. A lot of people were able to gain a lot of money from bitcoin not just because of the coins they got from the forks but also from the increase of it's price.

Bitcoin has received a lot of exposure in the media this year. The meteoric rise has not gone unnoticed with the financial press. This has led to many new buyers entering into bitcoin helping to push the price. The idea of free coins with the forks also increases demand.

At the rate it's going, we should expect a bitcoin to hit the $10000 mark in 2018. Who knows, it could be more. I really think this is the time to acquire more bitcoin for the future.

2017 has marked a new era for bitcoin simply.
First, you see Bitcoin having fork giving rise to Bitcoin Cash and then China bans ICO which affect Bitcoin adversely showing a great dip in the market but then after one month there is coming of another for named as Bitcoin Gold which pushes the Bitcoin to new limits. So, definitely 2017 been a crazy year, also created history with new facts and instances.

We might not see this rate of growth for bitcoin any more or at least for a while. More public involvement would mean great long term growth for the bitcoin market but also perhaps the less fluctuation. 2017 is the year for bitcoin.

Bitcoin used to worth less than a cent back then. No one believed on bitcoin and never expecting bitcoin to live this long, let alone the price. But here we are, with bitcoin standing at $7300 and people still screaming that it will be dead soon. We can expect the price to go above $8000 within the end of the year if no issues arises.
Bitcoin might take over the traditional banking system but not anytime soon.

The Bitcoin price really has been crazy this year. When you remind me that the price has risen from $1000 to $7000 this year, it tells me that one of the following things happened:

A) Bitcoin was extremely undervalued before 2017 and is now where it should be or is trying to get to where it should be; OR

B) Something happened this year to make Bitcoin worth 7 times what it was at the beginning of the year; OR

C) Bitcoin is in a bubble and will have a huge crash at some point.

Of course it could be somewhere between A and C if Bitcoin was undervalued and has shot past its real value and is in a small bubble. I don’t think anything significant has happened to make B the the correct choice.

Honestly it was expected by the majority, not just because they are a hardcore bitcoin enthusiast but they have reasons to believe that is bound to happened, including me. Because of that continous price surge, even in our local community on which bitcoin isn't popular much, it gained attention to the point that they are asking me to give them some ideas to earn bitcoin.

It is really a very interesting question if bitcoin will subvert the traditional banking, but as the traditional banking is the heart of the government financing, I highly doubt that they will give up this system. They will likely introduce some kind of crypto currency to imply that they have something similiar to bitcoin, but they still need to create money without real values and this will lead to inflation and probably to a hyperinflation one day!

Yes 2017 is seriously crazy for bitcoin and other crypto currency. This is a year where bitcoin value increase from $1000 to above $7,200 at the last quarter of the year. Although one cannot tell what bitcoin value will become at the end of this year yet, but many of us believe that bitcoin will reach $10,000 before end of December 2017. And with the look of things, 2018 will be more crazy for bitcoin growth as more people will be accepting bitcoin and other crypto currency.

Actually its only exponential growth ,I am considering 2018 will be same as 2017.

2017 is crazy for every currency! In future maybe 2017 was born date for new amazing currency!

The main reason for the price to increase is simply because one of the worlds largest derivatives exchange CME announced that they will be creating futures to trade bitcoin and news is taking the coins to new levels and once they finalize and set things the price would explode without a doubt and finally we are seeing unprecedented growth in the price of bitcoin which i thought would take a very long time.

When we see like this, it was in fact a crazy and good year. Graphs are even more insane as the volatility during this year was above sky level, but once again Bitcoin surpassed it and keep going strong.

Yes it was crazy because bitcoin in the market were increased so many times. From $1500 last January it will turns up to $7500 this November. Now bitcoin value was playing into $6000 to $6500. I'm looking forward to $7000 and above price of bitcoin before end of this year. It's realy been a crazy year and it's not over yet. This is probably the most intensive period since the Bitcoin was created, so many changes in the market, issues about regulation, bans, miners demands etc.
Hope the next year will be not so turbulent but still very positive and fruitfull for the market and the users.

That proves enough how volatile bitcoin's market value is. Despite all the odds throughout 2017 brings, bitcoin has continuously shown to us how dominant it is in the cryptoworld. And it was just last week that BCH made headlines in relation to BTC's falling market value that seems to be the end of BTC's dominance but still, it stood still, and now goes back on 7k USD mark again. :D

I agree that bitcoin have been in that crazy phase because of the rapid growth of the value but no it's not a bubble. It have proven legit transactions and gave people the chance of improving their financial status. Bitcoin is slowly changing the traditional way of financial living ang have introduced btc users to a different dimension that will soon change and improve our way of banking.

Bitcoin is unstoppable right now. I agree, bitcoin has started this year so good and looking back to it's previous price, it is quite unbelievable that it will happen. Among any other cryptocurrencies, bitcoin can be haled as the most dominant of them all. Many corrections that has happened this year, but still bitcoin is standing firm. Crazy and successful, considering everything this is an extraordinary year for bitcoin. Bitcoin did rise from 1.000$ to 7.000$ but before that bitcoin spend years in introducing it self to people. Did someone hold back the price or not is not so important right now, soon that will be clear if we are in the bubble that will burst in one moment, if worth of bitcoin continue to rise than someone wss holding back the price. Not only 2017, each and every year seems to be crazy with bitcoin. All that required is the support from the users during the downfall as well when growing high. This time the growth has taken place in a much larger scale compared to the past year which makes people point 2017 to be the best.

I don't think it will take many years for the banking sector to do a lot of job cuts. Banks now have too many functions, and banks may be more of a property consultant in the future. From this point of view, bitcoin may replace banks, accurately speaking, bitcoin should be able to replace part of the function of the bank.

I think Absolutely you are right. Every people can see that. Bitcoin will be global currency in the world or be as Euro that use a specific area. We are lucky because we are into this market and are in this future.

Basically, 2017 wasn't only a nice year for Bitcoin but the CryptoWorld in general.
So many alts came in this year and so many of them went sky-high after ICOs.
A lot of other already existing Cryptos were also at their best.
It's a great year indeed.

It won't be able to be a global currency anytime soon as long as the current issues are not solved. You just saw what happened after segwit2x fork was canceled and most of the miners who supported 2x temporarily moved to bitcoin cash, which caused bitcoin to lose its hash rate. The fee went up 10 times and confirmation took ages. This kind of issues should be solved first.

Adaptation of Bitcoin this year was staggering. Finally, Bitcoin catches good momentum to drive price beyond the roof, breaking its record high many times.

I must say when I was reading price predictions I find difficult to believe it will reach 5K or 7.5K but after what I see now, I know it can easily go to 10.000$ and higher, that for sure.

The first rule of Bitcoin is do not believe on rumours. I am seeing this Bitcoin bubble theory from 2013 instill people believe that crossing $1,000 in reaching $7,000 is just another bubble. They may be right but I don't think that even if it is a bubble people will let it go, when Bitcoin crossed $2,000 we have seen a massive increase in population in Bitcoin community. People from all over the world has decided to join Bitcoin and by the increasing time more and more people are joining it right now.

I don't think it's crazy, it is totally the way it goes.
Bitcoin made some magical moment in this year, but I believe there is a lot more surprises in the coming days. As we keep supporting for bitcoin or the entire crypto currencies, the more it could be popularize and it probably make a great history in the market place. And I know everyone will get amazed on this.

Not only for bitcoin I think its crazy for the whole lot of cryptos. Like ethereum which is only 3$ on january but is at 300+$ now and not to mention the ridiculous volumes of ICO's starting up compared to last year. Agree, we're still in the beginning of bitcoin era, just like any other technology that people are concerned about but is becoming the current trend. if they are in doubt with bitcoin, they should be able to see big companies like microsoft, steam, amazon and others who have adopted bitcoin, and indeed, they always use technology first that will be used by many people.

2017 has been crazy for Bitcoin indeed. It has survived so much and I'm wondering if the attacks are going to continue to get more widespread or are people going to start to finally realize that BTC is the real deal and that it is just in it's infancy stages still in terms of being a payment network for the world markets. It can be a store of value settlement network for the world right now, but the payment system is coming.

Such rises inside of a year are frankly frightening in some ways but I do not think that they are artificial, I think simply bitcoin is growing and the price is adjusting accordingly. With regard to subverting traditonal banking that is already happening but nowhere near to the level of potential that bitcoin has, bitcoin has the power to near enough destroy banks dominance for processing financial transactions and stop the ridiculous fees they charge for some services.

Yeah youre right. I wish i had invested early this year. The price of bitcoin now is high compared to that date. If you invest on that month, you have a high coin today, but i believe that BTCs price will continue to get high on future. Its regaining its price now.

I think Bitcoin even went lower than $1,000 in the year 2017. But then it recovered quickly. Bitcoin is already priced at $7,200 plus right now. And I think this growth will be seen until the end of 2017. I cannot see any hindrance that would cause its growth to be stunted. We may consider everything about Bitcoin as a bubble but the bubble is very durable and has lasted for almost a decade.

It surely is! And from August to November alone, the pump was crazy! The increase in BTC value from 2009 to 2016 was very gradual. But it went wild for 2017 alone! This just proves that anything can actually happen. And the same phenomenon may also happen to some of the other coins.. Who knows!

Volatility is what driving the prices to rise so fast. Another reason this year the price rose so fast is due to couple of hard fork happening this year. This gave a huge boost to btc and after the fork the price just kept on rising . This year saw a dump when the China banned ICO and JPM gave a negative feedback about the btc.

This year is a crazy year for bitcoin. I started earning bitcoin august when the price is at 4k$ and after 3 months it increased by more than 100% its now at 9.9k$. I am expecting bitcoin to be at 10k$ tomorrow and maybe 12k-13k price at the end of the year.

I’m pretty sure tha5 bitcoin will invade into many industries such as online shopping, private sectors like renting, lending and real estate etc, it will also break down the most amusing and expensive market such as forex, which it has already done anyway.


I’m not sure that traditional banking will be replaced by the bitcoin because that’s just not possible yet and too many blockchain developments are yet to be done. It definitely is a crazy year for bitcoins specially the ber months. Bitcoins skyrocketed a surprisingly high price of $20,000 in less than 1 week of November and then trickled down to $15,000 after December. Hopefully, 2018 will be a crazier year for bitcoins as it goes beyond $20,000.

2017 was indeed a crqzy year for bitcoin with all things considered that we experienced new heights but also suffered our worst down times on this year. However at least before the year ended a lot were treated to the potnetial of it with its heights it achieved

From starting $1,000 up to almost $20,000 bitcoin played really well for the past year. And I have some crazy memories too on that year that I managed not to panic but I need to sell at low because of some circumstances that I'm going through but still I have stored few coins left and that's a good amount to keep. Terming 2017 a crazy year for BTC doesn't do justice enough. It was ridiculous at the same time. Many people were stunned by the price and value of BTC in 2017. I couldn't believe it. I joined in late 2017 and honestly I'm not bitter about the price now. I saw enough to believe in BTC. The price will be back up
