35 Second Blocks (Should minimize orphans, and still allow for fast transactions)
Diff retarget every 10 blocks, max adjustment, %200.
Block 1 - 1079 - 100 Coins (Premine of 108,000 coins for bounties, give aways and future developement / Promotions)
Block 1080 - 1180 = 1 Coin
Block 1281 - 1380 = 2 Coins
Block 1380 - 1480 = 4 Coins
Block 1481 - 1780 = 8 Coins
Block 1781 on = 20 Coins

This block structure, should serve to prevent insta-mining, to some degree. Also, gives people time to setup for mining, and getting pools inplace, ensuring a relatively fair start. Diff should adjust by or shortly after, reaching full block reward. A smaller block reward, will help compensate for the faster block time, and serve to help preserve the value of the coin.

Reward halves every 2703085 blocks, ~ 3 years.

It's a fast coin. 35 seconds, long enough to eliminate orphans/stales, but still fast enough to provide quick transactions.
It has a smaller block reward, to prevent saturation of the market, allowing it to hold value well, but not so small, as to require insanely small transactions, to the 6th decimal place.
It has an active, dedicated Dev. I'm here to answer all questions, and help anyway I can. This is created for the love of Crypto Currency. I'm not looking to get rich, just learn and have fun with it. I am not a programmer, so, the creation of this coin, has been a fun learning experience, and I just wanted to share my creation. :)

Very few coins, are written from scratch. I took something existing, and made it better. Not uncommon for to use already existing source code, to make something else. That's why source code exists, and that's the deffenition of open source. I'm sorry you don't like my coin.

What you've done is changed some numbers. You probably don't even truly know what they do, just that they do something and that something will generate free money for you if people are dumb enough to mine your shitcoin.

Also, you're right that not many coins are written from scratch. I'd say < 0.5%. However, the coins that actually made it anywhere isn't pure copy&paste. They are actually contributing with something new, your coin is not.

Don't be an asshole. I actually looked at the code. Yes he started with the foocoin source code. sure he probably followed the guide for the most part. But he did go deeper, and change some more complicated features, such as diff adjust and the reward ramping. Is it copy paste for the most part, yep. Did takes as much work as starting from scratch? nope. Did he still spend probably at least 2 weeks of his spare time, researching, compiling and testing? probably. At least it has a working windows client, and he only premined a very small fraction.
I'm not defending this shitty coin, but the guy generally seemed like he made this coin as a learning experience. This could just be a test coin. maybe something better is in the works.

I'm all for creating alt-coins for learning purposes. I have done so myself, for learning purposes. With emphasis on learning purposes.

Pushing a half-assed coin to the public is done for no other reason than trying to make money off of people wanting to be " early adopters " on the " next big thing ". It won't happen. It will only end in a few early adopters, and the creator, dumping their massive premine ( even though it's not premine, it's pretty much a premine if you're the first one to start mining it ) for a great profit, and a few morons losing actually valuable coins in the process.
It's a well known process to most on here by now, seeing as it's happening every day.

That's not true at all. First of all, their logo is nowhere within the Mastercoin client. It's not even their logo at all, it's a orange circle, with the word Master in it. Secondly, it's only half of their logo. Pretty sure MasterCard does not own the word "master" ::)

Why don't you people lay the fuck off the guy. Sure, his Coin doesn't bring a whole lot of innovation, but he's a nice guy, and a good dev. From what I've seen, this has been a fairly flawless launch. The hash rate was fairly high, for a while, and not a single post, from anyone, complaining about the client, or anything to do, with the actual launch of the coin. If it had some pool support, the coin might actually go somewhere. Not very far, mind you, its not the next BTC or LTC, by any means, but its gone much smoother than a lot of the coins, that the community has supported in the past.
He's paided out his bounties, albeit only one has been claimed, thus far. He's honored his give-aways, and has created a contest, and is giving away a shit ton more.

The wallet is not syncing, because there are no seed nodes, except for mine, which is not allowing the wallet to sync, and I have no idea why. I did ask for people to volunteer to act as seed nodes, and no one has. MasterCoin has been a failure, and I'm abandoning the project, due to an obvious lack of interest. I still did the draw, but unfortunately, your coins may never arrive to your wallets, because my tiny bit of hash rate alone, is not enough to keep the network alive. There's not a single pool available, and my attempts to set one up, has failed.
If anyone wishes to take over the project, feel free.
For me, I know when to fold, and that time is now. Thank you all, for this learning experience, it has been a pleasure :)

Oh, and then there's the fact, that this is indeed, actually my coin. This was a test coin, to learn the ins and outs of creating and releasing a coin. I'd rather experience failure on my clone coin, than the actual coin I'ce been developing over the last month.
All in all, it has been a learning experience. As far as launches go, I feel mine was pretty flawless. The only failure here, was the lack of interest, due to the fact, that this is a pure clone coin.

It may look like the wallet isn't syncing, it is. Just hashrate is so slow right now, it takes a while for a block to be found. Once a block is found while your wallet is open, the wallet will show in sync again. The UPNP wallet also helps address these problems ;)

Remember guys, a high hashrate, will make it more appealing to an exchange like Cryptsy. They add it, it becomes tradeable ;) At a diff of 0.3, it is still solo mineable. I know I've given away large ammounts, to quite a few people, it's in your best interest, to mine it, and make it attractive to an exchange.

That's weird :/ It compiled fine in Windows and OSX Mountain Lion, with no problems :/ I'll try and fix it tonight, after work. I'm not too good with Linux, but I'm learning. This is all part of development. Merchants want these pools and faucets and block explorers in place, before they even consider accepting a coin. I've been in talks, once an exchange accepts MasterCoin, and it has a clear cut value,you will see a couple places to spend MasterCoin. Coin development, is a long, hard process.
 another note, the source code on GitHub has been fixed, it now compiles easily, in Window,  Linux and Mac OSX mountain lion.
I am constantly working to approve MasterCoin. Thanks to everyone who has been helpful in this endeavor.

Also, RYC has a 100 coin block reward, yes, but, it also has a 3 minute block time, where MST has a 35 second block time. so, in 180 seconds, 100 RYC are made. In 180 seconds, 102 MST are made. Looks pretty even to me. Please know what the hell you are talking about, before posting, its not that difficult.

This fact alone, even discounting everything else, is a show stopper for me.

Updated pool link. MST is picking up steam. Could still use another pool or 2. Will prevent future attempts, to DDoS the one existing MST pool, prior to pumps.
The scam coin, GLD, is running out of road, it seems, as people clue in to it's history, and shady past. From the rubble, will arise MasterCoin, the one true, non-scam coin, on the LTC market. Still plenty of time to start mining.

I've cloned the latest from GIT and added the nodes listed above plus the one on the front page, most I've gotten is one connection and I've only synched 9 blocks. Any other nodes I can use?

Did you open the port on your router? I have 5 different clients running, 1 on my VPS, which is the node on the front page, and 4 at home, on different PC's, no issues

Yep I've opened the port, from time to time I get one connection, but a getinfo call to the wallet only shows 9 blocks.

Try deleting peers.dat, blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat

I deleted those files, restarted my wallet but same story, sits at 9 blocks. Next I deleted everything except my MasterCoin.conf, restarted wallet, showed 0 blocks as expected, got connections, stuck at 9 blocks again :(

The issue is, the pool operator was upgrading his server, couldn't get the wallet to sync, because it was getting stuck on block 9. I have a fix for that. Oh, wait, were you trying to imply to everyone that you were attacking MasterCoin? Sorry to soften your wood there, buddy. Noone is attacking MasterCoin.

I was considering setting up a stratum mining pool for this coin.  However, after reading through the thread and seeing the way that 'Hydroponica' has acted and messages he's posted...I can't bring myself to support this coin.

UPDATE:

I have gotten in touch with Cryptsy and they confirm they have no connections either. I think this coin may be actually dead at this point. I will wait for 24 hours to see if the developer does anything and, if not, I will be decommissioning my pool and probably recommending that Cryptsy.com delist it.

Mastercoin 2(MSC ponzi) trying to hijack and steal our name here even though we are trading on the exchanges already. I've been discussing this with BitJohn over at cryptsy and we have good communication...I'm sticking firm and buying up all the REAL Mastercoins(MST) I can buy at these levels. If these MSC devs would just have the common decency to address this issue I would drop it but since they wanna play stupid I will use everything within my power to not let them hijack our mastercoin name(my Grandpa was a famous Patient/Copyright Attorney), not to mention the BTCitcoin blockchain being hijacked an polluted(sent an email to Gavin).. Hows the stability of MASTERCOIN/MST doing? Can we deal with an attack from the MSC masterminds??

Regardless of what happens to the naming, I think people should be more concerned with the actual blockchain. If Cryptsy cannot connect, then there is no point in arguing about the name. Without a connection they cannot receiving or process coins.

If anyone still has an active connection to other people in the chain, let me know right away and I will get my pool back up, so we can start mining again.

If I am wrong about Cryptsy, then I am glad, because when I talked to them yesterday, they said and I quote "Sadly I am also showing that we have 0 peers on the network. I will talk to Vern about how to proceed." No peers = no mining. No mining = dead coin.

I really hope I am wrong, but before you jump in and denounce me, prove me wrong by showing me an IP to connect to, that will get me back on the network.

MSC is a layer based protocol with additional features on top of the bitcoin blockchain.

Well, I do not know of any other Mastercoin (MST) pools and I am closing mine down due to not enough solid nodes to connect to. I have spoken to the guys at Cryptsy and I suggested, since it is not a coin that can not be reliably mined, that it might be time to delist it.

If anyone wants to fight for Mastercoin (MST), I suggest getting the dev to setup a (SOLID) seed node and convince the guys at Cryptsy that there is still some utility left in this currency.

Since the mastercoin project is a protocol that can be run on any underlying blockchain, maybe the solution to the name problem is to grab their code and set it up as a layer on this coin instead of on bitcoin?

There is no reason why the price or value of a 'unknown coin' should jump so drastically, without some sort of external manipulation, or some country decided to officially start acknowledging it as a true monetary replacement.

I think the coin will tumble very hard in the next day and I would be very careful before investing time or money into this coin right now.
