IOTA has been sitting idle in the market for quite a long time. We don't really know whether this is a rumor or not but this may be the reason for a spike in IOTA's price. The technology is really good in the IOTA platform but the coin is not making such a wonderful thing as a currency.
IOTA still has pretty good chances to rise up in the future as many investors are holding IOTA as a long term investment. The price might not skyrocket but might give a good return on investment in a few years.

That iota data has been on bittrex for 3 weeks, so who knows when they'll add it--my guess is they are waiting for the new wallet, but given the volume is closing in a billion dollars, they may be in a hurry to get it done sooner.

indeed a good news but maybe on the first days of listing we will see a price drop because price movements in these last two weeks has been insane and someone will try to get profit

it is usually poloniex that matters. every time some altcoin is added to their platform it is going to surely skyrocket no matter what it is! that is one of the reasons why i have always suspected they pump it themselves.

on the other hand, bittrex is no longer the exchange it used to be. with the recent scams, i don't think that many big players are going to be left there and soon it will be smaller than many other exchanges for sure.

i'm worried that it's going on an ethereum-type run now yes. but ethereum was/is being used, iota isn't. they don't even have a wallet that people feel comfortable using yet. so i hope/think it will pull back quite hard

Yeah, I've heard it too. I've read this on their slack channel and their IOTA twitter.
Though the api is quite intriguing because the use "troll" to name IOTA. I think Bittrex is going to add IOTA soon since it's on the major cryptocurrency markets like Bitfinex and Coinone which is the biggest exchange at Korea. Binance also added IOTA. I've heard also that Bittrex is also on slack channel few weeks ago. So at least it give us hope that they will IOTA soon to their platform. But unfortunately, i just sold my Miotas. Anyway, IOTA just made it to the 5th seed at the coinmarketcap and will surpass XRP soon(i just assumed).

They formed a new partnership (https://coinpricetracker.com/news/iota-price-surges-70-microsoft-partnership-announced/) with Microsoft and others so they have a real product. That alone should get investors excited.

If this is correct news, IOTA can start aiming $10 by heading up. This is be the story of 2017 if we can make this happen in IOTA. It was cents and some people blamed it for being a scam. They were all wrong as you all see.

So to me, bittrex drags its feet.
And I'm not promoting at all--serious.
But I joined kucoin 6 weeks ago and they bring a new coin in every other day, it seems like. And they even have a vote and the winner is brought on the exchange. It's identical to binance--has its own coin to reduce fees.
I like bittrex but before Power, they haven't added much excitement to the listings. Kucoin has Raiden, EOS, Genesis, Substratum, VeChain, Link, Walton, ETP... I mean, they have all the cool coins but they don't have the volume yet.
Bittrex is a huge exchange but lacks a mobile app.
Kucoin created and released one in a few months.
Like I said, all I have to go on are really these two exchanges. I don't trade on any others, except Binance for IOTA. So I'm not promoting, just going off what I know.
Has Bittrex always been kind of that big player that goes at their pace and does what they want to, as to listening more to its traders?

Guys, IOTA has been on Bittrex for months. It got on Binance a little more recently, but this isn't news.

Also, to set the record straight...IOTA isn't a scam, but the wallet sucks. Every update you have to jump through hoops to recover your MIOTA (disappears from your wallet), and the last transaction I sent took nearly 12hrs to go through.

I think 100 dollars for one coin is imposible thanks to the amount of IOTA. But I think we can hope in 10 next year or two. Anyway I really regret to not to buy when IOTA was ot 0,5

For the price to be $100, the marketcap would need to be around $280 billion. Could be possible in the long term.

Estimates for the IOT market is 10-35 trillion, so even if iota captures a tiny percentage, it will reach $100.

I never understood why people always claim that a listing on an exchange is equal to a raise in price. I´ve seen it countless times that a listing on e.g. Binance leads to the price falling. Latest example was GVT which tanked after being listed on Binance. Disclaimer: Price is now over the initial listing price on Binance.

A listing on an exchange provides more people to trade the coin. Total volume should increase. But an exchange listing provides new people to buy but for every buy order there must also be a sell order. Price could go down just as likely as up.

Three page sight cost 7 billions;) It is already on a lot of exchanges, and nobody cares) Bittrex always pumps but just low cap coins. Because they are cheap and this is very easy to do this. Why they haven't pumped XRP x5 yet or )? Or stopped pumping Eth? Because they are too high capped, it cost too much to do this. Shorting iota...

The problem with IOTA is that it is not blockchain and that's why I do not think it's easy to list it in some exchanges

By the way, if I am not mistaken, Bittrex listing costs minimum $55,000 for only a few months, so if you think about it, developers already pay a lot to keep things listed on these big exchanges. So, any price rice after listing if you think about it is also an attempt to recoup losses, with initial pumps getting more people to buy.

Exchange listings just mean more liquidity, more trading volume, but it does nothing else for the coin except maybe reputation. But these days do you really need to be associated with all these centralized exchanges with bad reputations?

I seriously doubt if this news is true, some times not every information on reddit is accurate.
And moreover, the last time I checked on Bittrex, I didn't see IOTA listed there and no such news on their newsfeed or so; so I guess its as stated, a speculation.

Moreover, with the recent unstable experience Bittrex is having, I dont think its the right time for IOTA or any altcoin to be listed there till they are stable.

Even if eventually, IOTA get listed in Bittrex it still does not guarantee that there will be a raise in the price of IOTA.

IOTA has such interesting tech and it is great to see how much progress they are making and the big partnerships they are getting. We truely are in the future now, there is big money to be made of data sales, it is no wonder big guys like microsoft want a piece of this. They love getting your data. Data is the money spinner and we can profit by getting in on the IOTA wagon and helping them t spread the tech of the future. I believe it will be $5 sooner than we expect, it is a good hedge against bitcoin when it is uncertain and opportunity to diversify. Obviously with the amount of them it will never reach bitcoin prices but it will get a lot higher than it is now for sure.

This is the most likely reason. A snapshot of the network will be conducted soon. Afterwards the network will be more stable and to avoid any odd circumstances Bittrex is waiting by then, I guess.

IOTA is one of the most interesting tokens of the last time, i have one and i will buy some more when its on Bittrex, but nobody knows where the markets will went so maybe it will be by 10 or maybe by 1111 ;)

As i said, IOTA looks like a good potential coin, but the latest shilling news hasn't really been overblow.....and the dump will be "oooh sheeeet".

It might not be a good idea to buy iota even though it might be listed on bittrex because the only way to make profit would be arbitrage and iota seems to have a pretty good network and don't forget you might even be going against many bots.

This clearly has huge amount of risks involved it is profitable but according to me i don't think it's worth.

It might hit but it would have a stable price $5-$10 is for a long term hold in short term you really need to be lucky for it.

As far as i know, IOTA has a bright future and by just looking at the graph, you can say its price has a drastic rise because of the demand. Currently, it has the 4th biggest market capital with almost 3Billion USD next to BitcoinCash. If you do some research about IOTA you will see so many good news about them. The team is really working hard and make so many promising business deals, which investors see and invest in IOTA. IOTA really has bright future. Price is increasing everyday too.

So after a day, this logic has proved a bust. The IOT is projected to be a 10-35 trillion dollar market, so no surprises here--good luck applying your shitcoin logic elsewhere.

The price has really exploded, so bittrex is probably forced to list the coin. The only reason against it was that the tangle was still a relatively new thing but after so long, bitfinex has proven that there are no major issues.

Up 70% today, and i would estimate at least a tripling in price when it gets listed by bittrex/poloniex.

No wonder there has been such a bullish run on the value lately. I will still be scared though for someone who did not get in early. I have the feelings the run has been huge and any moment from now, we should start seeing some crazy dumps with or without bittrex. So, I might want to be careful.

The level of sheep mentality in the space surprise me, what do you expect after the listing, the price crash, buy the rumour sell the news. I like this project but will only buy at good value, I don't the current price reflect the true value of the project, I might be wrong here

I'm generally curious how people evaluate risk/reward, because it usually seems off-base from any logic you would see on wallstreet, or even professional gamblers, as the valuations are generally hinged on how hard it can pump for a quick buck rather than the long term prospects based on the market and position within the market.

It is risky for markets to implement wallets with new technology, something going wrong will leave some millions in the air.

What actually surprise me ...it's the low number of exch. supporting IOTA. I don't into a tech details of crypto, but what are requirements (tech, economic) to add a coin into exchange? IOTA is 4th coin in terms of market cap and supported only by Finex, LOL.
Anyway, great news. I expect IOTA's market cap at 40 bil level before spring, so basically a $15 for mIOTA.

Not to mention that the companies invested in IOTA (Microsoft, Volkswagen, BOSCH, Fujitsu...) will undoubtedly own IOTA and can use their professional marketing teams to increase media exposure to the technology.  I think there is pretty decent upside, especially after the pullback.

Yeah, you are right my friend. I'm far far from being "hard cryptoinvestor", but IOTA buy my attention because of it niche - Internet of Things. That's our future. Every time i'm buying something in Mall and seeing there a cashier, I have a thoughts like that: "In 10 years there will be no cashiers in malls, no clekrs and so on"...because...because of Internet of things or developements in related area. Even 100$ for 1 mIOTA is not without a reach. It's actually a 3rd most dominant Crypto in the market (BCH is a farce) and it's only half a year of project being truly active.
So in 6 months IOTA already occupied more than 2,5% of market cap (12 bil of 450)
In 6 months after its launching ETH had 300 mil cap which was around 4% of market cap. And look at ETH now.
That's why IOTA is such a great great asset to have.   

Don't you know what is happening? Price of bitcoin is now at $18000 while there are some exchanges with much lower prices. Investing on something like IOTA is too late, Sell your coins and buy bitcoin to hold, God knows who bought all of the IOTA coins when price was $0.4 and now it has reached $4? I still have some but I'm not selling them for now :D Only if price is $500 I'll sell a few K's. For now my fiance has taken every bitcoins that I had, He doesn't have any of my alt coins :(

Yes, i was waiting for that! Everyone talking about IOTA in last 2 months. Certainly i will buy some.. I have tried to buy IOTA from Bitfinex last week but i couldn't do it. Their system is so complicated, nearly impossible to use! Bittrex is the best and easiest to use exchange company by far.

A lot of coins do well on Bittrex, it opens it up to another market at the very least there will be a big pump when it first gets listed.

Great news. I wonder why it took so long for IOTA to get listed on main stream exchange. It seems like a solid competitor to platforms like Ethereum, Waves, or Lisk. I guess the question now is whether it is too late to get into the bandwagon. Seems like IOTA already hit past $4 just yesterday.

Binance hypes coins very well and does lots of volume - they have low fees, bot trading and trading contests of questionable ethics. Bitfinex's margin trading pours even more gasoline to the speculation.
After a coin has done hundreds % on Binance and Bitfinex, I would not expect anything spectacular from a later Bittrex listing.

People who live from day-trading and scalping don't wait the coin to come into their comfort zone, they go after the coin  :D

Nope, it's just speculation based on some unsupported things. If it does come to bittrex then we will probably see a pump, and it wouldn't surprise me if the news is true because bittrex are missing out on huge volume right now, but time will tell.

The price drop is even imminent. So far though, it has really had some pretty good run and that is not a small run at all.

It should do well for itself in the future. It is a good project and anything can still happen, but for now, I would rather take my time for the whole frenzy to die down and get in, than trying to be a FOMO now. Now that it has dusted some Coins from their positions, we just have to see how far the bull run continues.

The MIOTA or IOTA is a good coin and has many qualities to reach 10 dollars. I did some good deals when the price was 0.35 cents and I ended up undoing everything soon after, if I had insured today would sell for 4 dollars.

They have some interesting features but what is more interesting about it and the cost of selling and buying, simply none (0)! To make a daily trade of it and very profitable, but as she is still only in Bitfinex and Binance gets a little distrust in the air but when she enters Bittrex the price of her can yes shoot and she can reach not only 10 but maybe 15 dollars in a few months.

First this coin can really hit Bittrex, but they wont expose their decision until they really list the coin, a lot coins are into the review before get listed, and even paying the fees to list the coin there arent warranty it will get listed, Iota is the first dag wich is getting attention soo its good to see how far this one will be able to fly, byteball looks like has been lost in the time already.
