No one can now the future, I have heard a lot of people say that these two coins can coexist together in the future. So it shouldnt necessarily be seen as a replacement for the original BTC. But who knows, in the future everything might happen!

Of course not. Bitcoin or bitcoin, BCH can't replace it, you see a look at the flow of money every day understand. Most of the money in the market is in bitcoin, which is inseparable from people's approval of special currency. Even if the price of BCH is high, it can not replace the position of bitcoin.

No. I don't believe that it is even possible for BCH or any altcoin arise from fork will be able to replace Bitcoin as the top cryptocurrency. There are already coins from forks that challenged the reputation of bitcoi. but for a long run, bitcoin remained the best since its marjet value is continuously growing more than any other crypto. Bitcoin is expected to be more successful in the future and chances are high that it will happen.

No, bitcoin will be the number one of cryptocurrency, if bitcoin is replaced by bch then bch will replaced by the other altcoin, and there is no cryptocurrency which can keep its value. And investor will tired of cryptocurrency investment.

Fork will never replace the original one. Bitcoin Cash transaction fees is absolutely less than bitcoin but it will not long-last. When it comes in technicality and trusted coin, bitcoin is the most famous. Bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency and no one can change it for me. Eventhough there are lots of altcoin and forks, bitcoin will be the number one.

Do you think BCH will replace BTC in the future?

not a chance for that. BCH will get pumped hard but it will never be able to compete with bitcoin because it is not doing anything special apart from having bigger blocks than bitcoin!

Less transaction fees and same amount as BTC... why not ;D

it is like this ONLY because nobody is using BCH. check out their blocks if you don't believe me. 90% of them are empty with only a couple of transctions in them.

I think one of the best explanation for this is when they interview the guy from (I cant recall), that every time that has a fork, BTC is going stronger to put it simply he said that we had different medium of transactions in different era, where gold lost in the age of time as a medium of transaction yet the price of gold is still growing. And BTC is like gold, every fork BTC price will just increase.

Btc will always be number 1 but as we see time pass we will see more and more problems with transaction fees. We have to remember that with more interest in crypto currencies the first thing people hear is btc and as they learn more they may well sell bch as the future.

In the far future there may come a coin that will replace BTC, but it's too far to be known by us now..

BCH replacing bitcoin in the future !?
the answer .. can be "yes", considering the features bitcoincash superior and interesting. bitcoincash with
innovation and updates and system improvements are expected to be more sophisticated.
for the price, in the future, bitcoin and bitcoincash will be equally expensive.

however, as we know, cryptocurrency is very difficult to guess. let's see what will happen tomorrow. ;D

Title: Re: Do you think BCH will replace BTC in the future?

It was the first goal of the hard fork at that time to replace the BTC with a stable coin in the BTC blockchain with a large block size (8MB besides 1MB) and a low transcation fees. And it was the time when China banned the ICOs collecting funds for start-ups so community thought it was the end of the bitcoin and Chineese investors started pump the BCH by puting more FIAT money on it. By nowdays, it's clear that this is not possible to replace bitcoin due to centralized authorities aiming to create a new mechanism bor the cryptoworld. Bitcoin is decentralized and only leaded by the community so can't expect to easly replace it. One last thing that bitcoin is the only solution for anybody to cash out his funds so we may think about a possible replacement if Banks and ATMs adopt the BCH as a method of payment.

No. While it is feasible for a cryptocurrency to replace Bitcoin at some point due to better features, just like paper replaced Gold that was used as a currency in the ancient times, that coin will never ever be Bitcoin Cash.
Firstly, should more than 10 people start using Bitcoin Cash regularly, the blocks will become full, and that is 8MB per block. That is an increase of 420GB over the course of 365 days. They've also said that they will further increase the block size if needed, which will make things even worse. In a few years' time, only a handful of entities will be able to run Bitcoin Cash nodes, thus making it centralized.
For reference the Bitcoin blockchain is 142GB right now.

Bitcoin Core will implement the Lightning network soon and then BCash will not be able to keep up. They can increase

the Block sizes as much as they want, they will never have the same scalability as the Lightning Network. Fees will no longer

be a issue, because off-chain payment channels will be much cheaper.  ;)

BCC replacing bitcoin is mostly an unnecessary question. They didn't have to be in opposing camps because the only major technology difference is the blocksize.
If this alone could propel a crypto currency above bitcoin, then some other coin would have done this already and the same must have been done by it to another of the almost 1800 crytpos out there.
For the time being, the questions regarding on-chain scaling are the real issue that would have been best solved by all the best brains joining together rather than this political/ greed motivated bickering that has instead been going on since BCC came into existence.

Now there are multiple arguments on both sides about who fired the first shot and it has been debated endlessly. Ultimately, what matters to not just bitcoin's future but also for crypto as a whole is whether they can come up with real workable solutions to the scaling issue.

For now, those who are being happy about fast confirmation times of BCC need only take a look at the blockchain explorer results for the two chain and forget about the prices for once.
The number of transactions that the BCC chain is doing are far less at present as compared to the BTC chain. You really have to wait and see how well BCC will actually scale when more transactions start coming on.

bitcoin cash is just getting pumped hard today and you are getting overly excited because you made some profit thanks to this ongoing pump.

instead of letting excitement blind you, try to look past it and start thinking about when you should sell before the dumping begins like last time and you miss out your chance to maximize your profit.

If BCH can get payment processors like Bitpay to enable them, and if Bitpay win back customers like Steam to accept bitcoincash, then yes.

Bitcoin is currently completely unusable for merchants, so another coin has to take it's place. It's either that, or give up and concede the merchant space to the lives of VISA and Mastercard.

Bitcoin cash just another fork of bitcoin and that's not comparable with the bitcoin. if there are some people like roger ver that spreads bullshit about that. Don't take it seriously. There is only one bitcoin and that was the bitcoin itself. Bitcoin cash just a kind to steal the demand of bitcoin instantly.

The most important aspect of a currency is not its name, its logo or anything superficial like that, trust is crucial for a currency and many people around the forum do not trust the BCH hard fork, they have a different vision of what bitcoin should be but this goes against the vision of all the core developers.

Now btc value is very high, and its very hard to achieve that. But we will see in next few years what will happen.

The transaction fees is definitely a big issue due to which the other altcoins will definitely pick up. But saying btc is dead would not be a right thing to say considering it is already at 17k and may even see 19k by this year end . BTC will give you the best returns in coming time as well so ideally you should always have btc along with some other coins.

You are right bitcoin cash has less transaction fees but the price will never surpass or even same with bitcoin. Bitcoin transaction fees is a big problem right now, at least you need to spend $15 to pay the fee and the confirmation is not even fast. BCH will not replace btc but BCH can be the best 2nd cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin has its users, and it's enormous, and a fork cannot replace bitcoin. There are alt coins which have faster transactions, fewer transactions fees, and better block size. But as a replacement for Bitcoin, they have a long, long way to go.

Bitcoin cash is going to get some favourable price movement in 2018 but it will not replace Bitcoin. It's quite ridiculous to even think of this to happen in the future. T'was only last month where BCH made a price hike and cutting a bit bitcoin's market price but that's not even good enough to replace Bitcoin's place. BCH can only be a successor if and only if bitcoin is gone already in the cryptoworld, in my own humble opinion.  ;D

Yeah there are some alts that have fast and fewer transaction fees and this is because of having a low demand in the market. And seeing the side of bitcoin and the insanely increasing of demand no doubt that the network will be slower yet with a high fee and it's reasonable tho.
Bch, a trying hard coin that fully manipulate by big whales won't replace the fact the bitcoin is the king and never will be dethrone.

It's not just about having faster confirmations and lower fees - it's about whether merchants adopt your coin for payments.

Ethereum has already managed to get a lot of merchant adoption - bitcoincash's challenge is to do the same or better. If they can't be the main coin for purchasing thing, there is no point to them.

I don't think that's possible. Bitcoin will always be the number one and the mother of all cryptocurrencies. Although that the blockchain fees are now high that small investors can't afford to buy, Bitcoin Cash is another option for them. In the hosted exchange wallet that I'm in, they had a plan to include Bitcoin Cash as another payment or withdrawal method aside from Bitcoin.

I can see that BCH will continue to grow, but they'll never replace the ultimate crypto of all time.

Less transaction times, cheaper fees. Where have we heard that before? In 100% of all altcoins! The last time an alt wanted to dethrone Bitcoin was Ethereum. Remember when everyone talked about the Flippening? And then what happened? It rose so high to #2, and took Bitcoin dominance to 50%, but then it couldn't maintain the hold, even with hundreds of ICOs launching ERC20 tokens. And now, with one game, it is overstressed and congested.

Bitcoin Cash can probably handle a lot more, but until we see BCH being easily converted to fiat it won't dominate. Besides, if BCH ever becomes #1, why would that be a thing? Bitcoin is #1 or #2 doesn't matter. We all still judge crypto by Bitcoin.

Another bitcoin fork will become useless ccrypto because that is not a part from the bitcoin. That just created by the developers that taken the screenshoot from the bitcoin network and try to send it for free.
There will be no new bitcoin in the future, Bitcoin is only bitcoin and no more.

It is too early to comment on this because Bitcoin cash is barely having 1/10 of the Bitcoin network transactions. I don't know if they can handle that much of transactions and also emergency difficulty adjustment which is like 'mine my coin, I'll help you to get more profts' This is actually immoral.

The real answer lies on the mass and merchant adaption, like for example even if Japan, aside from embracing  bitcoin as legal tender, if they too will embraced bitcoincash as another legal tender it still can never replaced  bitcoin as the top cryptocurrency because bitcoin still more favorable by the Japanese people. Bitcoin is still legit as the king of cryptocurrency.

i think its possible because bitcoincash is a one of kind altcoin that has many advantage like bigger block size and lesser  fees plus faster transation time when compared to bitcoin. also bitcoincash price is verry affordable, that is why many people especially investors and traders can always avail it but not on bitcoin because bitcoin is pretty expensive right now and also bitcoin has been facing alot of problems like scalability issues and much expensive transaction fees ,also slower transaction time due to network congestion. overall ican say that yes bch can surely replace bitcoin soon only if bitcoin wont improved its performance.

but, it doesn't change the fact that bitcoin is still number one or the king of cryptocurrency, because bitcoin has influenced the real physical market or merchant to adopt as payment.
bitcoin is earlier born than bitcoin cash.
So, the trust from people make bitcoin growth quickly.
For many years, bitcoin has stood. Bitcoin is still considered as the legit number one for payment.
The more adoption, the more it'll grow.

Replacing btc now is very hard to achieve.
Bch has lots of improvement to make, btc is now the number one of all crytocurrency and bch is too far from that.
But still no one knows, maybe in the future bch can be a good competitor of btc.
Every one of us has a opinion but no one can really predict its future.
So lets wait and see.

I'm sure will also other member make a thread whether BTG (Bitcoin Gold) can replace BTC or also another new coin result from Bitcoin hardfork.

I do not see that there is an alt coin or any coins that comes from the fork that can replace the bitcoin. Bitcoin has been established, as its users increase more than other alt coins. So I think it's not going to go down too much, but it's going to be even higher than we expect.

Not in the near future. The fact remains that most people with a little knowledge of the cryptomarket only know about BTC and not BCH. also, the number of transactions per day in the two networks cannot be compared.

If the lightning technology will be implemented by Bitcoin, then there is no chance that Bitcoin Cash can replace bitcoin.
The low transaction fees at the moment are due to the low number of users and transactions. If users increase and number of transactions increase, this fee amount will definitely increase.

Bitcoincash is building infrastructure:

Bitcoin cash got a lot of infrastructure support this week from several different facets. For instance, BCH will have two exchanges that will only deal in bitcoin cash pairs from the companies Okex, and Viabtc. BCH got more automated teller support from the ATM manufacturer Lamassu who integrated the codebase into their software. The wallet company ‘Edge‘, formerly known as Airbitz, announced future integration with BCH, and the most downloaded wallet in the globe, Blockchain Wallet, launched full bitcoin cash support on December 14.

Bitcoin cash has lesser transaction fees only because the demand for it is still small and has less traffic.

Who knows what will happen should the demand thats with bitcoin-BTC shift to bitcoin-BCH...will it hold? Or maybe we shall be coming back to the high transaction fees? But i honestly think as prices increase bitcoin transactions will reduce as fewer people will be willing to pay higher fees than the cost of a product. This tells me BTC isnt getting replaced!

I do believe in the same thing.
Bitcoin can't be used for payments as of now but Bitcoin cash can be used so I think these two cryptocurrencies will co exist. BCH alone cannot replace Bitcoin completely. More people in this world know about Bitcoin than Bitcoin cash plus media covers Bitcoin more often than any altcoins.

Roger Ver does really want to push his coin out there by endorsing it to these companies and now starting to build infrastructure? There's too much hate on bitcoin cash because of what it's been doing with bitcoin. I don't think that it will replace bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin cash is just an altcoin, once bitcoin has solved scaling problems it will make it hard for bitcoin cash's plan to be applied of replacing bitcoin.

Less transaction fees and same amount as BTC... why not ;D

Well, in that basis, Bitcoin Cash may be better than Bitcoin. Bitcoin has indeed much higher transaction fees. Bitcoin has to do something about this if they want to be used as it is designed to do. However, I think in terms of people buying a cryptocurrency for the sake of investment, Bitcoin is still the coin to bet. It remains to be the number one among crypto investors. That is why the growth of Bitcoin is leading. Bitcoin Cash's growth, especially sudden surges, are most often created by a few whales.

Inevitable. BTC is dead
It is anything but inevitable, bitcoin is looking very strong at the moment, now it seems bitcoin cash is going to be here for a lot of time since it seem to have the support from a segment of the community but you cannot expect everyone to support especially if we take into account what we know about bitcoin cash.

This is most probably true. I think the same way. Bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency. It is the beginning of everything about crypto and blockchain. Everything else that followed are simply following the footsteps of Bitcoin. However, as is true to almost everything in life, the second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on will try to become better than their previous version. So in terms of decentralization, anonymity, scalability, etc, the cryptos that followed have already installed some improvements. But the truth remains that the role of being the founder cannot be replaced anytime.

I definitely agree, bitcoin is no longer "KING" eternally time will comes and it will be replaced by any of the coins or altcoins of the crypto currency.
We don't know when it will happen but be ready for that possibility, if you have a lot of altcoins it's better if you hold it for long period of time because I'm sure that in the future you can used that.

On paper, sure, it would seem that all these coins can replace Bitcoin. But let's remove the coins with specific niche uses. Monero and Dash are for anonymous transactions, which not everyone needs or will dare to learn to use due to added complexity. Let's remove platform coins like ETH and Waves or Stratis, because these are coins that support other apps.

Litecoin and BCH yes, will be among those strong challengers that compete strictly on basis as currency or means of payment. Until we see the day people are able to easily convert them to cash, and easily buy products and services with them, we can't ignore that Bitcoin still means the first thing we understand when we say crypto.

I that in terms of Bitcoin's original purpose, yes Bitcoin Cash or another spinoff or alt will replace Bitcoin as the number of unconfirmed transactions and increase in fees is making it virtually useless as a payment method. However in terms of being a store of value, which many are calling Bitcoin now, I don't think any coin can compete with it at the moment.

Yes i think it will take over.
The high transaction fees, older technology, the team focussing only on improving bitcoin cash now....
The only reason bitcoin is better is because its the only coin that can actually used for payment.

But im a firm believer of that newer -and- better tech will replace older tech, especially if that older tech is also more expensive.

But since butcoin dominates so much, it will take time.

I dont think other coins will take over because bitcoin cash already has the name of bitcoin. This automaticly creates hype and research and therefore investments. Especially upcoming chances are looking good and now more and more accepted by trading ans buying platforms.

Hi,

Hello every one,I am Deshan fro sri lanka.

That is very good question . but very difficult topic because we can't predict any future.we don't know what happen in any work and any thing,
But we can check back and taking some idea about that.i mean we can check BCH informations,Histry, and chart. So then we can take some idea what
happen in future.this is my answer,i think this is the best.

Now BCH price is $2,627.52 USD
Now BTC price is $13,952.00 USD

However we all know BTC is how going,.it's going boom..So one day or sooner BCH can goes to big way,But we don't know it surely goes or not, because we can't predict future 100%.Any thing can happen.Lets see what they doing,. ;D ;D ;D so wait and watch.

Thank you! :)

I dont think so, bitcoin core is continue working to make bitcoin more stable and solving the current scalability and other issues so lets just wait until good news I heard the lightning network is currently in testing that will solve skyrocketing transaction fees and achieve instant transaction, sounds good right?

Less transaction fees and same amount as BTC... why not ;D

THE SHIFT HIT THIS WEEK

Coinbase allowed BCH on GDAX

1 week ago btc was almost 20K and 10 to 1 in value ratio to BCH

Now that BCH is on GDAX the public has spoken

The value ratio is now 5 to 1

So the event that caused this seismic correction in values was BCH moving onto GDAX

2 days ago I said the PROPHET OF BITCOIN was warning btc was to hit 10k soon

It hit 11k today

He says BCH and BTC will soon merge in value around the 10K value

Then they both explode to 50K

so read and learn

not so soon I guess because people still believe with bitcoin and they are only making money from bitcoin cash in short of time. but they are making big money from bitcoin for a long term investment and they still use bitcoin to trade with altcoin. until now, bitcoin cash is not used as a pair with altcoin and only with bitcoin and fiat and maybe if bitcoin cash could be a trade with altcoin then maybe bitcoin cash could be the next position of bitcoin.

I completely believe that if Bitcoin cant improve its weaknesses, it can be replaced in the future in payment. However, using in payment and price are different. Maybe, Bitcoin cash can be used in payment more than Bitcoin. Bitcoin price is still higher.
At worst what it will happen if bitcoin keeps being slow is that bitcoin begins to be used as gold, as a store of value which is something that we are already seeing today but to be honest I trust in the devs and the solution they have chosen to scale the network.

nothing is impossible in the future. because BCH could just be getting more interest than on BTC and that will make the price even exceeding the higher BCH BTC.

I do not believe that BCH will be able to replace BTC, because it was created only to correct the cost of bitcoin and will not have such huge popularity. Although for some time it will be possible to earn it.

BCH is good for some reason but I don’t believe that it will replace bitcoin, it will never happen. Bitcoin will continue to lead altcoins and be ready because it will soar higher, and more people will enjoy it.

Well it a big no.
I dont see any chance that bitcoin cash will replace bitcoin in the future.
Bitcoin was the first coin known in the cryptocurrency market.
And I think that bitcoin was the base of all the coin made.
So it means that no coin will replace bitcoin unless bitcoin loose its supporters and investors.

That's FUD to make the newcomers are feeling panic and then move to the bitcoin cash. You can see how many Roger try to make a bullshit press about the bitcoin cash to replace the real bitcoin or block stream bitcoin.
They are all hating the bitcoin original. That's why you don't need to get it seriously.

Why not? I think as of now it's possible to happen because  all of us are affected with the transaction fee and that's not good for us. Because it's not to earn bitcoin I hope the fee will decrease . Bitcoincash is good and for sure it will increase again and I hope this is the next bitcoin so the fee is less. But if bitcoin decrease fee I will love bitcoin again.

Please explain what you mean by "slower transaction rates"...are you referring to speed or rate of adoption?

If it's the former, you are waaaay off the mark as bitcoin can only process 7 transaction in a second, Ripple and EOS does 50 thousand transactions per second. And it's scalable to millions per second.

I think BTC would still likely be the main digital currency of the future. But for that a few things need to be improved

The problems it is facing now such as slow/stuck transactions and high fees need to all change though in the future for Bitcoin to remain as the number 1. It has to change real fast before the fees go sky high (they are already pretty high btw) and more transactions keep getting backlogged in the mempool. Right now Lightning Network is being tested and there's no official date that when it'll be launched to the public. You can test transactions on Lightning Network using Test BTC's and the transactions were super fast with low fees.

If Lightning Network goes well and all exchanges and wallets adapt their service, then I personally think Bitcoin can continue to grow tremendously whilst remaining the top digital currency without its forks such as BCH taking over.

Well to think that bch is being manipulated by big whales so there's nothing impossible with them because of the greediness that runs in their system.
However, looking in its aspect yeah it's quite agreeable that bch is much more good when it comes in transaction but the great potential that bitcoin possess we shouldn't doubt bitcoin exceptional capabilities.

You are absolutely right because it cannot replace the Bitcoin because Bitcoin has the large community and whereas BCH has very less community. BCH is just BTC clone and it is not possible to secure the place of Bitcoin.

Other altcoin that are bitcoin clone can also do that, Bitcoincash is having a blast this past weeks I just don't know if they can sustain that we have to see in the coming months if the momentum can still go on, but I don't believe it can overtake Bitcoin.

I think that BCH will not replace the BTC in the near future. And not only BCH, but other altcoins will not be able to push back BTC, since bitcoin is the foundation that holds the building of Crypto-currency. And if bitcoin falls, then other crypto-currencies will fly down.

Although speculating on the stock exchange is more profitable on altcoins.

Some years ago all the people were using Nokias phones. They were using MySpace. People used to have horse-drawn coaches.
Everything is possible and progess and development is unstoppable. So if Lightning does not come in any near future even the almighty Bitcoin will have a problem. I mean the transaction fees at the moment are a joke. And there might be more problems to come even.

If Bitcoin can develop fast enough everything will be fine, if not. Well, let's see. Bitcoin currently benefits from the media a lot.
But still I don't think that Bitcoin Cash will take this position then.

You can not judge Bitcoin Cash just from its development in a short time. We should know that Bitcoin has existed for a long time and will not be easily shaken. I still believe in Bitcoin and will not be tempted by other forms of Bitcoin. Instead of risking my money on Bitcoin Cash or other Bitcoin shapes, I'd better keep it and invest my money in another Altcoin like Ethereum, Litecoin, Waves and the others.

BCH has better foundations technically and it is truer to Satoshi's vision of bitcoin is... I just cant see why it cant't surpass BTC one day after people open their eyes. BTC has big problems, no one can deny that, regarding transaction speeds and enormous fees, which are two main purposses of a currency, and BCH is far better in those areas than BTC.
Also, how can anyone say that BCH would have same problems as BTC has rn- if BCH has same amount of users that BTC has , when BCH has better infrastructure than BTC, and it is set to solve and deal with these problems even now.
Even Satoshi wanted bigger MB blocks, and yet with other things included, some "shitcoin-wannabee-real bitcoin" is more original bitcoin that "actual" Bitcoin...... I just wanna know why people are so pro-btc when you cant do shit with it, either you willwait weeks to complete transaction AND it will get eaten by big fees.
Also why so angry at BCH, for some reason people hate it more than all other coins combined, but really shouldnt... BCH has evolved so much since august, and its continuing to do it also...
Just to be clear, these above are facts, im not pro-any of these, im just looking what one has to offer more than other, I would love to invest in both, just right now, facts make me to believe more in BCH than BTC, and after seeing all those people still almost blindedly follow BTC and bash BCH, I want to hear why, maybe I am missing something....

1. Crypto community, which helped Bitcoin increase and widespread around the world, do not like Roger Ver obviously. They will not help him build a better cryptocurrency.

2. BCH has a way less transactions than Bitcoin. It is normal that it is faster. If it has more transactions we all do not know what will happen.

Bitcoin cash just has a bigger block size than bitcoin. If you are considering that block size has made bitcoin cash superior than bitcoin then you are wrong. Do keep in mind that bitcoin cash is more centralized compared to bitcoin cash.

I do not believe that BCH can replace bitcoin. Because the platform and community of bitcoin is irreplaceable. There are many altcoin that want to replace bitcoin but they can not do it and I think BCH is no exception.
But at the same time you need to understand that such efforts are not going to work right now that the community is more or less small and has a deep understanding about what bitcoin is about but as more people use bitcoin that is going to change so they are going to have the chance to continue their attack on bitcoin.
